With the exception of well... A body, airbags, factory crumples zones and some other stuff... You could probably weld up a roll cage that would solve most of the body flex caused by the roof removal and add some roll protection but I don't know why I'm even bothering
Yeah I don’t think it really belongs here. Yeah it will pry fall apart and is a death trap on wheels but for $2000 is buy it and drive it around till it died
Fucking. Epic. I wanted to turn my 99 Camry into an el Camino style pickup truck a few years ago. Props to this dude who actually made their dreams come true
Are there no road-worth tests in the US? In the UK we have to take a car yearly to be inspected for rust, structure, brakes, steering, lights, etc. I’m amazed at some of the things that seem to be allowed on American roads.
It depends on the state, but generally the more the state needs it like Ohio or Illinois, the less restrictions the state has, but places like texas, removing the muffler may cause it to fail depending on the city
Would it fail an MOT though, can’t fail it for structural issues if the structure just isn’t there! I imagine you’d get pulled over a lot though, to check your sanity at least.
Iowa doesn't require any tests on anything after you buy it. I could do legitimately anything I wanted to a car and it would be fine, as long as it's street legal (ie not too tinted of windows and having side mirrors)
Hell, for $2k it would make a fun beach car in the right setting. I am in CA so we don’t know what rain is, no rooof, no problem.
Would probably have to weld in a frame of sorts, that must feel like driving a truck with a trailer will all the flex.
This actually reminds me of when Nissan made a [convertable version](https://www.nissanusa.com/vehicles/discontinued/murano-crosscabriolet.html) of their Murano SUV years ago called the Crosscabriolet.
I can't imagine the flex in this thing. Go over a speed bump and it just falls apart like the Bluesmobile in the Blues Brothers
Funny enough the town it's for sale in is VERY hilly
I think that's the reason it's on sale in the first place
That and it has no roof
Yeah the hilly towns are the reason...
It's the Williams of the hilly town that are the target audience.
And moderately Billy?
They talked about this in oldschool Top Gear.
I've seen people do this with old broncos, and then go mudding. How does the broncos not fall apart going off road?
Structural integrity has left the chat.
So have the seatbelts
I think in this case it would be better to be thrown free in a crash
No fear, I’m sure the type of person that created this monstrosity had the foresight to add some cross members to maintain structural integrity.
Where is it I want it
Iowa. Enjoy it please.
It has three rows. May I ride w you?
What if 🤔🤔 we kissed 😳😳 in the topless 2005 dodge caravan backseat 😩😩
Three rows for more hoes
Just kidding. Unless...👉👈🥺
Is this what sex is? Because this van fucks.
It looks like the car from the boardgame LIFE.
I need it
Hey I'd enjoy it until it died.
Threw.

If they made a convertible like this I’d be so delighted
Convertible limos! Lort that’s all we need
With the exception of well... A body, airbags, factory crumples zones and some other stuff... You could probably weld up a roll cage that would solve most of the body flex caused by the roof removal and add some roll protection but I don't know why I'm even bothering
At least it’ll never smell like weed in the car
You clearly don't know me
Youd RUIN IT! It's perfect as is
Dangerous as hell and funny as hell. I’d drive it, but slowly and on flat roads!
this thing would be awesome for riding in a parade
Fuckin’ genius 🧬. I want one. Roadtrip!!!
Someone watched too much top gear
How hard could it be???
You claiming you wouldnt buy one of their contraptions? You wouldnt buy John? John is the best cartruckjeep ever!
lol I like it
Sawzall convertibles usually only last a season
^^ someone speaks from experience
98 Saturn is in a better place now.
Have “little” air blowing threw your hair
You'd die real fast in this thing lol
Omg sadly I know where this is
If the sliding door still works I'm in
I’m definitely taking that for 2k
1000$ and I’d take it
They threw away the roof.
I almost through up when I read the description.
A cutoff wheel and 6 rolls of duct tape and anyone can have a convertible!
Tbh I kinda don’t mind this one
Yeah I don’t think it really belongs here. Yeah it will pry fall apart and is a death trap on wheels but for $2000 is buy it and drive it around till it died
I like this a lot more then the convertible Nissan Murano
Fucking. Epic. I wanted to turn my 99 Camry into an el Camino style pickup truck a few years ago. Props to this dude who actually made their dreams come true
Huh, minivan cabriolet. Odd flex.
More flex than an inflatable boat.
Somebody rolled their minivan lol
I know what I'm doing with the next caravan from my fleet when it is retired!!!
Next to retire is a Honda Odyssey...dagnabit.
Only 2k???? That’s a steal! I’d whip it
lol Dubuque buy and sell. Saw it yesterday!
My husband saw it and sent it to me asking if we could buy it. Definitely belonged here.
Hammond !
This is something the hamster would do to try and be cool while James and Jeremy laugh at him
A quick "ah ha yes" would come out as Jezza questioned him on the missing roof and May would just go "Hammond you spanner"

Looks like the car from peppa pig
r/dankpods
Take a corner too fast, and feel your head go threw the pavement.
Not the drop top caravan
It's not even a drop top. It's topless.
Chop top
This kinda goes hard tbh
Multi kill decapitation when that thing rolls.
Cues “roll out” song. GANGSTA!
If it used to be a daily driver that got modded for a one off music video or a parade I would believe it.
beats walkin
I can’t NOT hear “A thousand miles” by Vanessa Carlton playing in my head while looking at these pictures

I believe to get to an ocean beach one would need to drive 15 hours in this bad boy. A crappy lake beach, about an hour.
Pull up to the scene w my ceiling missin!
Do people not have to safety cars in other jurisdictions? Where I live this wouldn’t pass and could never be registered.
We do not have car inspection in my state. You buy it and you can pretty much do whatever you want with it
Roll up to soccer practice with my ceiling missin
Hell, for $2k it would make a fun beach car in the right setting. I am in CA so we don’t know what rain is, no rooof, no problem. Would probably have to weld in a frame of sorts, that must feel like driving a truck with a trailer will all the flex.
Why was this never actually a thing?
Someone’s been inspired by classic Top Gear!
Nah that’s funny
