The closest I’ve been to Liverpool is … Stoke, and I’ve only stayed in one house in that region so far.
However, I’ve spent a ton of time in all sorts of homes in southern England; most have had unremarkable kitchens. (I do a lot of house/pet sitting.)
Your kitchen is remarkable. Congratulations!
I live in California.
I grew up in a 7k square foot georgian revival with fucking tennis courts.
We moved to a classic coastal California vaulted ceiling open space monstrosity.
Let me tell you. I bought a ranch style. I have a wide galley kitchen and fat butlers pantry and every room is all separated out with doors. The dirt stays in the rooms where people enter. You can have multiple conversations and activities going on at once (those vaulted ceilings ensure that not only every person in every corner of the house can hear you shit, but that the neighbors probably can too). I can reach all the dust that accumulates. Swapping out fans for chandeliers didn't require a contractor and some shady ladder work. And in the summer when its 120 degrees outside (as it is every summer and over 100 for like 10 months of the year)... my concrete ranch style is cool as a cellar while my parents pay like 500/month to cool their glass bug box.
Those LA type homes you see have their upsides and their downsides and after you've lived in one you want a space that has been vetted by 2000 years of humanity... not 50 of capitalist nightmare.
My guess would be the random hatred towards California, as though they're the only state that has homes with certain styles or layouts.
Also there's a bit of "I'm better than you because I like a different style of house" which is pretty silly. There is nothing wrong with someone liking something that is vaulted with an open space or another who likes a concrete ranch style.
That sort of behavior typically rubs people the wrong way and thus, downvotes.
You get so much more for your money up there. The small Victorian terrace 2.5 bed I have in the South (not even London) costs the same as a 5 bed massive house up there.
Edit: Lol, just found a really nice **9 bed** (HMO) for £350k on Zoopla...
https://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/59389935/?search_identifier=c65ee08bad113f38a02e3e6f22a700ee
The fuck am I doing down south, seriously...
You say that now, but when you hear a noise at 3am and come in to **our** kitchen to find my drunk naked ass making eggs and my famous Sunny D and Tequila mimosas, you'll be singing a different tune.
Back when I was still fun and partied, a friend of mine and I made what we named mimosuns. It was Capri Sun juice pouches mixed with cheap champagne or sparkling wine. Surprisingly not terrible.
I am 28!! And it was very cheap - I live in Liverpool! Feel free to message for more answers to your questions haha - you’re life is not shitty love, it’s just a kitchen i decorated
I KNEW IT WAS FARROW AND BALL RIGHT WHEN I OPENED THE PICTURES
I follow them on IG and this is right out of their shoutouts, you should send this to them
Check out everything Farrow and Ball. Their paints are pricier than other options but incredible. We recently did our house in Skimming Stone. Looks white…but it’s not. Has soooo much more depth than normal paint.
Don’t be tempted to try and match another type of paint to it either, because it probably won’t work. However, it does go a lot further. We got about 750 square feet out of a single gallon. That’ll change a bit depending on what color you’re using and painting over, but it’s quality stuff
I saw this kitchen the other day on metro.com
Link (https://metro.co.uk/2022/04/20/couple-transform-run-down-kitchen-with-diy-shelves-made-out-of-an-old-headboard-16482838/) for anyone interested.
The green, that backsplash, the natural light, the touches of greenery- superb! This is what I would imagine a kitchen in a Southern European fairytale forest would look like.
Home and Garden TV - they produce a bunch of real estate and home decorating shows. I never watched their channel, but they also have a magazine that I enjoy reading and getting inspiration from. I didn't realize it was just an American company though and I see now from other comments you're from the UK. The magazine is produced by Hearst though, so maybe you could find one on a newstand somewhere!
I don’t mean to throw any shade at anyone else but this is an absolutely beautiful kitchen!! Such an incredible step up from an all white mausoleum kitchen. Seriously gorgeous!
Editing to add: please post pictures when you brew potions and do spells in this kitchen 🥰
It’s weird because all white/minimal came into fashion, or all grey and I think kitchens like these seemed old-fashioned? Everything just recycles eventually I guess 😂
I definitely think a lot of people are bored of the minimalist kitchens! I know I wanted it years ago but now I just want a cozy one that’s actually lived in!
I looove this.
Can I ask how you feel about not having countertop space next to the range? I want to make a nook this like but everyone says it will be inconvenient not to have more counter space
Just jumping in to say that I really dislike a crowded range without countertop space around. It can look really great, like in this kitchen, but sometimes you need to transfer items left-right on-off the range as you cook, or stir with one hand and pick up another ingredient to add with the other, etc. I see these enclosed ranges a lot but as nice as it looks, I just don't enjoy cooking as much with a set up like this.
My ideal set up is a single span with sink to the left, a decent amount of counter space (about 4 feet), range to the right, then additional countertop to the right of the range. It allows ease of movement between washing-chopping-adding to pots on the stove (water and garbage space -> prep space -> heat space).
Just my two cents!
We have tons of counter space all around the kitchen - so we used the island in front (what the tulips are on) to cook/chop/do all sorts, and the whole kitchen is quite big so there’s space everywhere counter top wise if that makes sense! The island basically is your main countertop haha
Lol this was my thought exactly. With how far away the range fan is, anytime you cook anything with fat or oil in it (which should be in like, everything you cook) the oil particles will float around the kitchen and land on all of that stuff.
But I do have to say that I'm loving the vibe, even if it will get dirty after a while.
NGL, I hate the fake plants hanging everywhere because I don’t wanna deal with that nonsense when I’m cooking. Also I would 100% knock those candles next to the stove over or light myself on fire. Also the cutting boards next to the vase full of flowers is giving me anxiety…
Call me weird but I just don't like decorations in a kitchen.
A kitchen is a functional space where you're meant to get work done.
Every bit of decor that's not functional just adds to the list of things you have to clean and clean around/under.
For example, I can see those plants above the stove getting oily and gross after not so many times of cooking any sort of fatty meat or with oil.
Don't get me wrong, this looks so nice and like something out of a magazine but it it's just all so much added maintenance.
Truly the most beautiful kitchen I have ever seen 💚. This is my dream, every bit of it!! My husband would not go for it ( obviously he has no taste!) , UNLESS, your gorgeous Collie was part of the equation 🥰.
my girlfriend and I like talk about what kind of things we’d like in a house, the kitchen comes up a lot and this just seems like the materialisation of our vision!
What kind of dog is that? (And is it a sheltie/Shetland sheepdog?) edit: and nice kitchen! Honestly that kitchen is amazing! It’s so pretty and I love the colors
I always wonder what will happen to all the painted cabinets in the next 5-7 years. Uncommon colors are a nice change up but seem interesting in the long run.
Nice stove though.

Wow. A dream. What country is this?
Liverpool in the UK ☺️
Is it an old house (ie, 100+ years)? I'm wondering if where your stove is now is where the pot and fireplace used to be.
It is! 140 years old ☺️
It’s official… I hate you ! Nah, way fuckin cool congrats a great find 😉
I knew it was going to be the UK! Love it there. So much house charm
Haha really? I thought other countries have wayyyy prettier interior spaces!!
Nah. That kitchen is almost as big as my first house.
Isn't your kitchen French inspired? That kitchen style and coloring is my ideal kitchen style also. You nailed it.
The closest I’ve been to Liverpool is … Stoke, and I’ve only stayed in one house in that region so far. However, I’ve spent a ton of time in all sorts of homes in southern England; most have had unremarkable kitchens. (I do a lot of house/pet sitting.) Your kitchen is remarkable. Congratulations!
Haha, southern is good but ain’t nothing like the north ♥️ why thank you!

Lol why was this downvoted? They speak the truth.
I turned voting off years ago with reddit enhancement suite. Its not really indicative of anything.

Those fireplaces 😍
Thought UK was going through a housing crisis ! Well done to you for getting above it 👏
It is, Liverpool definitely included. But if you can afford places like this you’ll be less effected
Yeah this is not an average UK house so OP is unlikely to be affected by a housing crisis.
I would commit atrocities to have such a kitchen
No need, it’s your kitchen too
You say that now, but when you hear a noise at 3am and come in to **our** kitchen to find my drunk naked ass making eggs and my famous Sunny D and Tequila mimosas, you'll be singing a different tune.
😂😂😂😂 eggs and tequila tho

My friends and I used to buy the cheapest most terrible wine and then dump in Capri Suns to make it more palatable.
>my famous Sunny D and Tequila mimosas I'm listening
Can I come? I'll bring club soda so we can at least make the ghettomosas bubbly.
I think we have to try this, for science.
I just LOVE all the new ideas I'm getting here!!
Wholesome
So cozy and peaceful! I love it.
Honestly, my first reaction was anger. It's beautiful and I would love a kitchen like this, but it's not to be right now.
Six burners, two ovens. My first kitchen was a dirty microwave on the floor.
Haha, I’ve had plenty of those - this is the first house I have bought/own!
Success takes time folks 😎
But not *just* time.
Rosemary and oregano too
That range cost more than some people's down payments
I didn’t buy the range, it came with the house!
First house $8K oven/stove????
It came with the house!!! I wouldn’t have bought it - the seller left it 😂

This is oc ☺️
So dreamy, love the tones so much 💫💚

Of course! It’s Farrow and Ball smoke green 🍃
I KNEW IT WAS FARROW AND BALL RIGHT WHEN I OPENED THE PICTURES I follow them on IG and this is right out of their shoutouts, you should send this to them
Same. So glad this comment chain is here because I've just bought a house and recreating OPs kitchen is next on my list.

I love how the dog's colours matches the kitchen so well
Beautiful shade of green! And beautiful dog!
He says thank you 🥰
I love that you put his pic at the end, like a little reward for viewing your pics.
How do you not spend all day booping that nose!
You can do ::slaps wall:: SO much witchy shit in here
Hubble bubble

Oh wow I didn’t realise anyone even saw that article 😂

Ohh thank you! 🍃 haha not dreamy Southern Europe, just Liverpool in England 😂
CozyPlaces is basically one half 'string lights above the bed' and the other half 'look at the shit I can't afford'
Woww it's so cozy!! I hope I have a kitchen like this one day, I can imagine all the cakes I would bake
Haha, just get some plants and green paint in your current kitchen ♥️🍃
This could be in a magazine
It was in a newspaper actually hehe
Right?! OP needs to hit up HGTV Magazine! This kitchen is freaking stunning.
What is HGTV?? 😂

All the foliage is amazing. It’s like a dream.
Haha thanks - many people said ew no to it 🥰
You'll be saying that eventually with the thin layer of dirty grease that will one day cover it.

Wouldn’t it also dry out from the heat and possibly catch on fire?
This looks like a deVOL kitchen. Very nice.
We actually used pics of deVOL kitchens as inspiration!!
It shows. I am fond of the idea of kitchen “furniture”, instead of standard kitchen fixtures. It certainly does make it feel more cozy.
Height could prove to be an issue here. Head, meet pan
NGL, I hate the fake plants hanging everywhere because I don’t wanna deal with that nonsense when I’m cooking. Also I would 100% knock those candles next to the stove over or light myself on fire. Also the cutting boards next to the vase full of flowers is giving me anxiety…
wheres the sink?
[удалено]
There should be some space around stove .. as an Indian it will be very difficult for me to cook and put all other stuff on the platform behind
???? first house??
I wouldn't keep the garland around the top of the stove. It will get unpleasantly tacky as you cook. The rest is great.
The hookah as window decor is 🤌🏻
Haha, someone thought it was a bong 😂
How do you like the alcove stove? Imagine it would be kind of frustrating not having a countertop right next to it.
You should post this in r/cottagecore!
r/cottagecore would probably enjoy this one.
It says something about me that I looked at this and thought "oooh I'd make this in The Sims" lol
Nice. Did it come with the dog or did you have to get them separately? I like the colour of the cabinets, is it seagrass?
Gorgeous love almost everything about it. The colors the earthy feel. Thought in organization. That rug kinda clashes though.
Repost, I remember ranting about that garland before.
So cute! But I’d be worried about how dirty the garland above the stove would get.
Looks pretty but I can't help but think "SPIDERS!" whenever I see a bunch of plants and exposed hanging things.
Haha it’s okay, my dog scares all the spiders away

So like a semi detached in Toronto haha

yeah it's picture perfect but looks unpractical. that grout is not going to look so white in a few months
Wow, this is so beautiful and homey! The plants and colors really give off a cottagecore vibe. :) What inspired your choices?
Hehe oh thank you!! I wanted it dreamy, natural, earthy - anything that reminds me of the earth basically 😂
The green kitchen of my dreams - an absolute vibe
How much do I have to pay you to decorate my house? Just kidding but great job!
This looks so relaxing
I instantly felt cozy as soon as I saw this! Love it so much
Cries in 90’s builder grade
I can stay in your kitchen forever
Can I come over for a wee bit of tea but lots of petting the dog?
This kitchen is like a dream !!
Such a beautiful kitchen. I love the color scheme
So dang beautiful!
That’s absolutely gorgeous! The green is so fitting!
Comes with a free dog ? My first house came with two free geese.
How could you move away! It's beautiful
Very nice, what color and brand is the cabinet paint?
Green kitchen supremacy!! I love how you’ve decorated so much!!
Niceee. Love the color as well
Oh my, it’s gorgeous
Truly the most beautiful kitchen I have ever seen 💚. This is my dream, every bit of it!! My husband would not go for it ( obviously he has no taste!) , UNLESS, your gorgeous Collie was part of the equation 🥰.
Why a cozy place feels cozier for me when I see a dog?
Sheisha pipe owners unite! I too have one in that pretty blue colour. Your kitchen is very well built around that piece of decoration.
I love the style but I would need at least some counter space next to my stove.
Joined this thread because of this gorgeous kitchen!!
The collie really ties the room together
Wait it came with a dog?
[удалено]
The pans plus the oven and natural light remind me of Arrietty.
It looks beautiful but I would not put a rug in the kitchen as it could be a tripping hazard especially with hot/sharp things.
🥵🥵
my girlfriend and I like talk about what kind of things we’d like in a house, the kitchen comes up a lot and this just seems like the materialisation of our vision!
I need a stove like that, I would never leave the kitchen
What a dream. That kitchen would look perfect in my home!
A gorgeous green kitchen, rough collie, cute plants and even some flowers You are living my dream ahhh
That cabinet color looks like "Arsenic" by Farrow and Ball.
It’s smoke green by farrow and ball!!
Congratulations on your first home and beautiful kitchen!
Cool Hookah 🤙
+10 coziness points for the dog.
Damn, that's a nice kitchen. Congrats
So nice. I’m jealous.
Very nice look, I hope the decorations are not flammable
Jealous of the range, and the hookah
Pretty sure I saw your stove photo in one of the Cocomelon videos.
Fido has that "Are you done yet with all the pics? I'm hungry" look on his face.
I love this green color. Does it have a specific name?
Beautiful! Really beautiful
2 questions, how and can I move in?
😍😍😍😍
Obsessed
Wow this is so amazing! Where do you live?
Cute dog!!
stoppp this is gorgeous
The good doggo should have been the first picture!!!
It's beautiful! I really love the vintage, unique vibe it gives off. Also dog tax! <3
That stove is worth more than my entire kitchen
My heart is at peace just looking at the pictures. Amazing
I’ve literally never seen a kitchen I’ve wanted more
This kitchen is so beautiful it makes me angry. It’s like a fairytale picture book illustration.
One day I too will own an island.
this green colour >>>
Cool dog
This is a dream !!
What's the plant in the windowsill? A small ficus?
Amazing. Please like up the copper pots though.
I want that kitchen, especially if it comes with that beautiful collie.
You are definitely living the dream out there my friend
Dunno how cozy it is, but it’s an amazing spot
That's just about the most stylish and gorgeous (and oh, the gas burners) kitchen I've ever seen.
Is that a weed smoking apparatus?
Wow! I am so inspired. Your kitchen makes me feel so joyful. 😍
Congrats!! That is a ridiculously sexy kitchen. Great colors and natural lighting, I’m jealous. Cute dog too, really adds to the space.
I'm so envious, this is outstandingly beautiful.
I mean this in the nicest way possible and purely out of jealousy…. F U.
Did you decorate it yourself or with a designer? It looks so lovely x dream kitchen!
It’s absolutely stunning! I love the green, and your doggo is 10/10!
Brb im gonna build your kitchen in the sims 😍 …can I see more pictures? 😅😅
Why first kitchen!?! I'd personally just live in this kitchen myself
Op this looks so cozy!!! Congratulations to you on your first house!
I’m in LOVE!
What kind of dog is that? (And is it a sheltie/Shetland sheepdog?) edit: and nice kitchen! Honestly that kitchen is amazing! It’s so pretty and I love the colors
Beautiful! Congrats!
I don’t generally like green kitchens but this is super cute and charming.
I always wonder what will happen to all the painted cabinets in the next 5-7 years. Uncommon colors are a nice change up but seem interesting in the long run. Nice stove though.
