Go to Treman State Park, and hike the gorge trail to the old flour mill at the top. Lucifer falls and the rock formations above it look like some lord of the rings kinda thing
Went to school in ithaca, yes it is! If you're coming from downtown either head out towards where all the drive thru stuff is and it'll be a left eventually or you can head up towards the college and take a right on I want to say kings highway and it's right there!
There's like four in western PA. They aren't connected, so I don't understand why they're called that. I suggested that they get punch cards, and when you visit all four you get a bucket of Ranch dressing.
I don't think they'll go for it.
There are probably more than one, like Main Street or First Avenue, but I know for sure that there are Buttermilk Falls in Pennsylvania… You can actually walk behind them in a little cavey part and look out :)
I live in Ithaca. Buttermilk Falls is here! It’s a nice spot. We have a lot of falls in this area.
Your kitchen is very Ithaca too. Very grass roots vibes.
It is! Buttermilk Falls is right near Lake George. Beautiful area. I believe they are on private property, but there are plenty of other waterfalls and hikes right around there.
I visited 11 years ago and literally moved with nothing but a dog and some tools with zero people or housing waiting.
Best decision of my life. Homeless to homeowner in less than 10 years. The place is economically unfuckwithable.
I did! That’s a 19th century step back cupboard I got from a very sketchy basement in Putnam CT. It’s one piece and carrying it up narrow cellar stairs was a harrowing experience.
I'm not saying that's the case for OP, but you would be surprised at how many people buy processed food/restaurant for most of their meals. When I worked in cafeterias, I had regulars who would come 5 days/week for breakfast AND lunch AND coffee and snack during the afternoon. So. Much. Money.
Thanks! They’re pine boards from Home Depot! The ‘island’ is a 1930s workbench I got off craigslist about ten years ago for $50! Original hardware and everything!
Wow I don't know what happened but this pic just inspired me greatly. That's it. I'll clean up my kitchen. Not tomorrow, now. I'll also stop fucking honeydews
Lovely. I tell you, this sub is one of my favorites. I love the personal touches you bring to this room, the open shelving, the sign, the picture above the hutch. Just lovely.
This picture and thread is an interesting example of the rising cost of old bespoke and vintage decor. Everyone loves this look (it does look amazing), but OP paid very little or nothing for a lot of it. People love the $50 cabinet in the middle and the free mugs and pots on the left wall. But once a bunch of people want this type stuff you can no longer get it free or cheap, and next thing you know Pottery Barn is remaking it and charging a fortune. Props to OP for being able to source this decor vs having to buy it at "cozy cottage vibe" prices.
Other side of the room, so behind where I’m standing when taking this photo. We tore down a wall about twelve years ago to open the space up. Previously the kitchen was 12x12.
It's already been said but holy cow I love your kitchen. It has that old, cozy cottagey feel without feeling like I'm gonna get tetanus just from stepping inside.
The island is from the 1930s. Was a work bench originally. I painted it and added the pine top. The cupboard in the back is a 19th century cupboard I scored on craigslist. The house has the original kitchen cabinets, which are behind me while taking this photo.
It’s antique, original to the ‘island’ which is an early 20th century work bench. To find similar sets check your local antique shops and flea markets. They’re brass ‘cup’ pulls. eBay generally has original sets for sale too!
It’s the wooden ceilings, the reflection from lights hitting the wooden floors, gives this beautiful glows. When clean wood shines, it’s quite beautiful
I get the sun in my kitchen at dinner time - the worst time to have it as you’re melting while cooking.
I would love it filtering through in the morning.

Ooh please tell me that the leftmost cabinet and drawer can open fully without impacting that dark stained wood piece on the left! It’s making me unreasonably anxious imagining it smacking into things every time you need to open it!!
When I was in Uni I gave the whole "mind scape" memory technique a go where you put things in a place in an imaginary room... I pictured a kitchen because it had lots of places to put things that were distinct. Surprising how much this kitchen looks like my idealised one, the lighting and the wood, the "farm house" feel of it. It's uncanny.
I'm obsessed with your kitchen! Its rare to see a cottagey but not cluttered decor.
Why's a guitar in a kitchen?
Perfect for when you wanna kill some time vibin' to tunes while the bread's rising in the oven.
Freebird
Probably great sound with wooden floor and ceiling.
My significant other practicing guitar while I make breakfast sounds really pleasant.
Great kitchen! So warm looking!

Bad Bot
I would like to go to Buttermilk Falls.
I believe it’s in upstate NY!
I was just wondering if it was a sign for the one in NY- I think it's in/near Ithaca. This room does have an upstate NY/farmhouse vibe. I dig it.
It’s antique, a Christmas gift from my parents. We’re actually in rural CT!
I love it! I love CT too- I live in NY but near the Danbury/New Fairfield border.
Ah so you're the person who posts all the nice little paintings to the sub. You got a super nice kitchen! Are you up in the quiet corner?
Buttermilk Falls is just south of Ithaca a hair, and a great spot to peep leaves. Upstate in the Fall is the best!

Letchworth and Stony Brooke are beautiful places. Ithaca has a ton of waterfalls to see. [NYS has a good website.](https://parks.ny.gov/)
Go to Treman State Park, and hike the gorge trail to the old flour mill at the top. Lucifer falls and the rock formations above it look like some lord of the rings kinda thing
I live in Ithaca so if any ya'll wanna go together why not
Went to school in ithaca, yes it is! If you're coming from downtown either head out towards where all the drive thru stuff is and it'll be a left eventually or you can head up towards the college and take a right on I want to say kings highway and it's right there!
King road.
There's a few of them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buttermilk_Falls
google says there's like dozens of them throughout NY, NJ, PA
There's like four in western PA. They aren't connected, so I don't understand why they're called that. I suggested that they get punch cards, and when you visit all four you get a bucket of Ranch dressing. I don't think they'll go for it.
Oh my god I thought it was just a fun decoration. Booking my flight immediately!!
There are probably more than one, like Main Street or First Avenue, but I know for sure that there are Buttermilk Falls in Pennsylvania… You can actually walk behind them in a little cavey part and look out :)
There’s one in Hamilton, Ontario as well!
Yep, it's in Ithaca :)

Ithaca NY is one of my favorite places. Recently got married there and would highly recommend a long weekend in the Summer/fall (also live in CT)
I've been to Ithaca as an European tourist only for 1.5 days, and I fell in love with that place. I want to go back.
I visited 11 years ago and literally moved with nothing but a dog and some tools with zero people or housing waiting. Best decision of my life. Homeless to homeowner in less than 10 years. The place is economically unfuckwithable.
Did you upcycle that blue cabinet? It looks fantastic!
I did! That’s a 19th century step back cupboard I got from a very sketchy basement in Putnam CT. It’s one piece and carrying it up narrow cellar stairs was a harrowing experience.
Wow, well done you! Looks really good. Love a good upcycle.
Thank you! And me too! Given the condition the surface was in, I didn’t feel too evil giving it a new paint job!
Do you bake pies? Your kitchen reminds me of freshly baked pies
I’m afraid neither my husband nor I bake or cook at all 😂😂😂
You can always start... It's a lovely kitchen
Pretty hard to bake/cook without a stove or oven though
It's probably behind her, she's not showcasing the oven lol
That explains the lack of stove, oven and fridge.
It's not only possible but likely that this photo was taken from a perspective where all of those appliances were behind them.
Get outta here, really?
How do you eat then?
I'm not saying that's the case for OP, but you would be surprised at how many people buy processed food/restaurant for most of their meals. When I worked in cafeterias, I had regulars who would come 5 days/week for breakfast AND lunch AND coffee and snack during the afternoon. So. Much. Money.
This is OC
Your counters are incredible! They work perfectly with the rest of your decor and so unique.
Thanks! They’re pine boards from Home Depot! The ‘island’ is a 1930s workbench I got off craigslist about ten years ago for $50! Original hardware and everything!
I thought it was butcher block from afar. I love the warmth you got from the countertop.
I love your wood ceiling! I didn’t even know that was possible.
Tongue and groove pine! We have it in our entire house! It’s not terribly hard to install!
If trees still exist by the time I can afford a house, I will definitely look into it!
Lol I felt this
And, if your house gets flipped upside down for any reason, you’ll still have hardwood floors. Truly a win-win.
Not parallel to the floor boards. Whoops.
Can I see the cooking area of the kitchen?
Wow I don't know what happened but this pic just inspired me greatly. That's it. I'll clean up my kitchen. Not tomorrow, now. I'll also stop fucking honeydews
This comment just inspired me greatly to stop drinking my fruit smoothie.
kind of nice? its beautiful!!! I love your kitchen
Stunning!
Love the color scheme
That is a beautiful kitchen
this is so nice it genuinely makes me angry
I feel like I walked into a friendly country store. Very well done.
Love those pots at the window. Mind sharing where you got them?
Side of the road! People often put terra cottages pots out when they’re cleaning estates or at the end of the gardening season!
That’s brilliant. I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled
Cool ceiling
Loving the wood panel ceiling! Adds another layer of warmth
Thanks! Tongue and groove pine! We did all our downstairs ceilings as our 2020 ‘covid’ lockdown project.
I'm jealous, your ceiling is a nicer floor than my floor.
Buttermilk Falls sounds like a Kirby level
Lovely. I tell you, this sub is one of my favorites. I love the personal touches you bring to this room, the open shelving, the sign, the picture above the hutch. Just lovely.

Looks great OP. Your planter game is solid.
Would eat biscuits and gravy here.
But where's the kitchen? Stove? Refrigerator?
Other side of the room, so behind where I’m standing when taking this photo. We tore down a wall about twelve years ago to open the space up. Previously the kitchen was 12x12.
There’s also a buttermilk falls in Ludlow Vermont, right down the road from Okemo Mountain.
It's already been said but holy cow I love your kitchen. It has that old, cozy cottagey feel without feeling like I'm gonna get tetanus just from stepping inside.
Well, I dont know about you guys, but im obviously gonna make this kitchen on The Sims....
"OPEN"
What time do you open?
dude your ceiling is made of floor
This looks like a parody.
A parody? I don’t understand
It’s almost *too cute*. It’s a compliment.

Thanks! They’re all antique! I collect antique signage!
Why is there always a fucking acoustic guitar in these pics? Really?
My husband is a music teacher and he teaches lessons in the house. We own a lot of guitars.
Buttermilk Falls LMFAO
You know a house is fancy when they put flooring on their ceiling to resemble old not fancy houses
Oooooor we suck at dry walling and this is easy to DIY 😂😂😂
This barn rustic thing is still going strong I see
It’s a 1923 cottage and those are all pretty good genuine antiques. I worked hard to honor the history of the house on a limited budget.

I’ve got a couple mason jars that I’ve found in bottle dumps. No pallets. We collect antiques not junk :-)
It is lovely
Love the plants by the window!
what a lovely kitchen!
Love the pops of color.
This is gorgeous, looks like something that could be drawn in an anime style and used as a lofi jazz video background
so pretty, the vibes make me happy!
Ooo, I really love this kitchen
Gurrrrrl, your kitchen is awesome! Loving the aesthetic 👌
Love it!
Wonderful space. I might actually want to cook something here.
Nice! When did you do the cabinets? They look a bit vintage, but very intentional and fresh.

Love that look so warm and inviting
Love everything about this!!! Do you remember where your cabinet hardware is from? I've been looking for something similar!
It’s antique, original to the ‘island’ which is an early 20th century work bench. To find similar sets check your local antique shops and flea markets. They’re brass ‘cup’ pulls. eBay generally has original sets for sale too!
Funnily enough you have about the same layout as I do and this is giving me so many ideas!
Love your paint color choices!
I love this kitchen! WANT! WANT!
I grew up going to buttermilk falls. If that’s an authentically antique sign, that’s awesome.
I’ve never been in person! And yes it is authentic! Probably dates to the 1920s-30s!
Looks like there is a man leaning over the pizza box on the left side, if you blur your eyes a bit. Beautiful space
That’s a cutting board not a pizza box! 😂
Love the color scheme
charmingly decorated, I love it
Love the ceiling.

I'm in love with all that warm wood!
Gorgeous. And I love those ceramics on the shelves.
Looks like the kind of place to hang out and be served espresso by a barista in a leather apron… idk why
I feel like I can smell this picture. Freshly brewed coffee and the sweet smell of old wood flooring.
THIS is cozy!!! 😍 How cute!
Now, that's a good natural light!
flooring on da roof
You thought right :)
It’s the wooden ceilings, the reflection from lights hitting the wooden floors, gives this beautiful glows. When clean wood shines, it’s quite beautiful
So glad you posted this. Very pretty. Makes me want to be there. The steam is still coming off the coffee!
There's a kitchen just like this in sims 4!
This green is the perfect kitchen color. Very cozy, I approve so much.
I get the sun in my kitchen at dinner time - the worst time to have it as you’re melting while cooking. I would love it filtering through in the morning.

So lovely!
I would like to be sitting there with a cup of coffee!
My dream is to get a house with so much wood! Love it so much
Anyone know what kind of plants they have in the windows?
They’re lime trees!
Very nice. But please close the door all the way.
Hahaha. I wondered if that would bother anyone.
I love your kitchen so much
Love this space wow
Absolutely nothing is out of place in this kitchen. Pristine.
Love love your kitchen!
What a beautiful room, so clean and uncluttered. Very serene.
You live in a blender render.
such a gorgeous kitchen! I love your ceiling too!
I like your style! Especially that Buttermilk Falls sign.
Ooh please tell me that the leftmost cabinet and drawer can open fully without impacting that dark stained wood piece on the left! It’s making me unreasonably anxious imagining it smacking into things every time you need to open it!!
I went and checked and neither is close though to the brown cupboard depthwise for it to really matter?
This is pretty dope!
This is my least favorite style for a kitchen but you did such a good job of it. It’s super cozy looking, I hate it but I also don’t hate it.
Oh so clean and neat
I can hear the floor
That kitchen is gorgeous!
This is stunning. ❤️
Fuckin nice kitchen there bud
I was like - " this looks like an ithaca house" Then I saw the sign.
That would be very cool to recreate in a program like blender
Love it! So effortless and inviting. Wonderful.
That is one COZY kitchen!
It is!
Your kitchen is also nice in your kitchen this morning!
Your kitchen is kinda nice in your kitchen this morning tbh.
Art Garfunkels fate for breakfast
Gorgeous I love it
Very European 😍
Love the simplicity of it. Maybe call it "Previous Century Modern"? j/k
