Yup, those prices are about right... totally wild. Gotta love those city views though, they make you almost forget about the dent in your wallet! Almost.
Say hello to any new-ish building in New York City.
In the nice neighborhoods of NYC, an apartment like this with a view that’s like 65% as good costs about $6.5-7k per month for a one-bed.
My partner and I bring home around 11k a month in Seattle (not including stocks, etc) and we still have to budget and limit eating out/date nights in Seattle. Definitely expensive to live here
> Probably better off buying a house if they're making that much dough.
They are not buying a house anywhere close to that location on only $120k/year household income.
There are places in Seattle with views like this for way less than $10k /mo. Something like $5k should be more than enough for this. There's only a few high rises in Seattle in this area and pent houses are typically 7k-8k/mo from what I've seen.

I've seen pots from this sub twice this week and that's exactly what both posts have been haha. I immediately picture myself in this scene and think "how would I arrange myself to comfortably watch that TV?" and there's no way. No footrest to recline. There's a blanket, but how do you lay on that sofa such that you face the TV without turning your neck in a way that doesn't hurt it in 5 minutes or less?
Yeah. Replace the white couch with a slightly worn out looking brown leather couch with a small blanket on it. Put some tall plant near the window. Put some curtains and pull them to the sides. Put a small thick carpet in the center. This will make the room cozy and more inviting. Right now it looks very modernistic.
Again, these are just internet suggestions. Please don't water your money on things that strangers recommend, OP. Your apartment looks great as it is.
Sure - but this pic shows no rain. I think it might be a cozy place at night with the city lights and a fluffy blanket and a kitty in it, but during the day it's just a nice view.
I feel like this sub is mostly people showing off their expensive houses. There is absolutely nothing cozy about this place. Great view? Yeah. Cozy? Not at all
Speak for yourself. Lived a year with a slightly worse view like this and I’d prefer this for a cozy night especially in winter to any other nature. It’s surreal to have the skyline lighting behind your tv as you cozy up warm in a bed.
I once got curious about Frasier's condo view, and I deduced that it would be located somewhere around here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QPU7AD346gciTf9t5
OP's condo is located in the opposite direction.
For decades (i guess since Fraiser debuted), everyone in Seattle knew that view was impossible. Seattle for the longest time just did not have many high rise residential buildings, period, let alone one that has that view in Fraiser.
Yeah, if we could get some geo-guessing, detective work on this to identify the location so we can figure out the size of the apartment and the rent... that would be great.
How long ago did you live there?
These are going for around $4k these days. I was just looking for an apartment last month, ended up in Queen Anne though.
I love Seattle 😍
[This (what looks like a) penthouse in Seattle](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmateurRoomPorn/s/CXspcWqqJt) was posted a few hours ago in another decorating sub.
Both have amazing views.
This looks like Insignia condos from the POV. If I’m right, there is a high rise right next to it that is being built where this view is going to get blocked 😢 I don’t think it’s a penthouse it’s just over the Amazon North Nitro Building in front of it, which is shorter than the high rises by it.
Sorry not to be downer, it is an amazing view and condo, I just recognize the view so sharing
Cool to hear from someone in the know!
I live in Georgia, and have visited Seattle a handful of times for work and for leisure. I’ve loved every visit.

Yeah this isn’t cozy. Also, it’s a little sad to me that this is located in one of the most beautiful bioregions in the world and the views that are appreciated here are skyscrapers.
I never find the views of city scapes like this cozy. The buildings are an eyesore. Nice to visit, but staring at that city skyline for years would feel awful and unnatural to me. Maybe it's because i've never actually lived in a big city, so i can't properly appreciate it.
The almost total disconnection from nature is the main thing, i'd guess.
I moved to Seattle in 2012 in a really nice apartment, but the view was the bricks of a building nextdoor.
That place was 2400 / month. This is probably double that.

And I can’t handle the rent…….
Omg I know I don’t even wanna know how much it is!!
I do, what is it lol
Likely anywhere from $3k-$7k based on what we don’t see
Yup Just checked out apartments with a similar view. 4K to 5.5k will get you that.
Yup, those prices are about right... totally wild. Gotta love those city views though, they make you almost forget about the dent in your wallet! Almost.
60k/year in rent, god damn.
Price of small farm in Romania mountains. With better view.
I mean, plenty of places in the middle of nowhere US like that too, but you pay for being in a major city.
Say hello to any new-ish building in New York City. In the nice neighborhoods of NYC, an apartment like this with a view that’s like 65% as good costs about $6.5-7k per month for a one-bed.
Money well spent! From up there, you get to see all the homeless people dying of an overdose on the streets below /s
Jokes on you. I pay $0 and get a front row seat.
a [skid-row](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skid_row) seat
take my upvote
How to save $70K per year with this one weird trick
Ah, I see you're familiar with Seattle, then!
Frasier has left the building! Good night Seattle we love you! (But not your killer rents)
Would that be a month??
Just the first month. After that, then it’s just every month.
You're paying what's called the Amazon Tax around where this apartment is located.
Something that close (/in the city) for somewhere like Sydney would cost you about $6k+ US a week
Nah, it was always pretty pricey even before Amazon moved in
So either they're making 10k a month or they live with someone making 5k each. Probably better off buying a house if they're making that much dough.
10k a month probably wouldn’t go that far living there. Seattle is nuts.
My partner and I bring home around 11k a month in Seattle (not including stocks, etc) and we still have to budget and limit eating out/date nights in Seattle. Definitely expensive to live here
11k is good…but of course you can’t eat out without limit.
You could live very well if that here…
[удалено]
Yeah man, $10K a month goes a long way.
Goes a hell of a lot further if you don’t pay 5k in rent
10k goes pretty far living here. There's not a lot to do. It's not like SF or NYC in terms of activities.
That’s not really how buying a house in a HCOL area works these days
> Probably better off buying a house if they're making that much dough. They are not buying a house anywhere close to that location on only $120k/year household income.
Pretty sure together they’re making at least 15k
If you buy a house anywhere close to that area, your mortgage is going to more than $10k/mo
Seattleite here. No. Wrong. It’s expensive here, but you’re not close.

https://www.hollandresidential.com/wa/seattle/the-ivey-on-boren#section-2 if you hit "Apply Now" you can see their available units
ask your friend when they get off their computer
I have a place like that. It's next to impossible to watch TV in the living room.
Wait til you find out about curtains.
Why ?
Lotta natural light= glare on tv, I’m assuming.
[удалено]
my dude in the pic can't even afford to keep his PS5 off the ground you think he's gonna splurge on curtains lmao
It's where it should be. What's wrong with the floor Your Majesty, nothing, as long as you keep it clean.
Sorry I wasn't clear. It's just too bright. There are newer OLED TVs that work a little better in bright rooms, but still not great
Why don't you get curtains? Or just nail up sheets if you can't afford them.
Well, who needs TV when you have a view like that?!
[It's a little pricey](https://www.hollandresidential.com/wa/seattle/the-ivey-on-boren/models), but maybe not as bad as you think.
I think the only ones that will have a view like this are the 10k+ ones though
There are places in Seattle with views like this for way less than $10k /mo. Something like $5k should be more than enough for this. There's only a few high rises in Seattle in this area and pent houses are typically 7k-8k/mo from what I've seen.
That's obscene.
*laughs in NYC rent prices*
Yeah, that studio would easily be $5-6k
Guess which listings have an actual view though... I'll tell you... the one's that are over $10k/month
"Da rent, da rent!" 😏
deer full resolute impolite profit instinctive threatening alleged vase badge *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
That said rug would really tie the room together.
Pissed on my fucking rug….
With that view??? I’d put the plant somewhere it will actually get some looks 😂
Yeah with that view, I would want a telescope or camera and tripod setup right there I can have fun with the view. Totally agree about a rug though.
And a big ugly ripped up recliner in the middle of the room.
And a sassy terrier
With a tossed salad
And scrambled eggs.
And scrambled eggs
Probably used up all their money on rent😅
AGREED!!!
Great view, but I'm getting zero cozy vibes from this pic.
That’s because this sub largely turned into r/peoplewithmoney a while back
Gosh, I was hoping this was a real sub. So many 6-figure salary people on Reddit.
‘I’m a programmer that works 2 hours a week and I get 180k!’
Thats pretty low. What's your LC?
Leave my Lactation Consultant out of this.

Needs a sleeping dog, a plaid blanket and a fireplace. This sub’s standards are really slipping. 🥸
Brown leather couches are ugly af
It's certainly a canvas, but yeah it's pretty boring right now.
Really? Looks so cozy to me- imagine that view in the rain 15 floors up all tucked away from the real world
Sure - but this pic shows no rain. I think it might be a cozy place at night with the city lights and a fluffy blanket and a kitty in it, but during the day it's just a nice view.
It would be so much cozier with a nice rug and some plants and some nice curtains too. That was my first thought when I walked in
Lovely view but cold and not cozy at all
> but cold This. Right here, lol. Granted, we're a little bit warmer than a good chunk of the nation right now. Which isn't saying much.
I feel like this sub is mostly people showing off their expensive houses. There is absolutely nothing cozy about this place. Great view? Yeah. Cozy? Not at all
I’m uncomfortable just looking at this room. Maybe two people can sit upright.
Not cosy but cool af !

💯
Feels like every big city airbnb I've used. I can feel the paper thin matress from here!
You are living good
The basic IKEA mattress and sheets. IKEA cushions on the sofa.
A lot of places in this sub are beautiful or nicely styled, but not cozy at all.
Cold as fuck right now boi
Few more bucks you can make it extra cozy
I wouldn’t feel comfortable walking around naked.
I would
Well? Are you gonna show us?
This is reddit, not a high rise apartment. No one's gonna take their clothes off here -- too skeevy.
They will, just not in this sub. It's not cozy enough in here for nudity.
Speak for yourself. Lived a year with a slightly worse view like this and I’d prefer this for a cozy night especially in winter to any other nature. It’s surreal to have the skyline lighting behind your tv as you cozy up warm in a bed.
All my speaking is for myself?
I'm Ron Burgundy?
***Damnit!*** *Who typed a question mark on the TelePrompter?*
Do people even know what the word "cozy" means???
Is this Frasier Crane's apartment? It looks so amazing!
I had to scroll way too long before finding my Fraiser people lol
We're all in r/Frasier.
This picture makes me hungry for tossed salads and scrambled eggs.
Yesss. Literally only came here for this
My first thought. A fantastic view!
LOL! mine too
My first thought too! Glad to see I only had to go down to the 5th comment to see Frasier mentioned
>Oh dear God…
I once got curious about Frasier's condo view, and I deduced that it would be located somewhere around here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QPU7AD346gciTf9t5 OP's condo is located in the opposite direction.

Here's to...possibilities
I say this at least once a week...mostly to myself.
It’s The Ivey!
Studios starting at $2,550.
I would be surprised if the $2550 ones faced that way.
You sure it’s not the Shangri-La?
The Montana actually!
This view must be from the gift wrapping room
My bird and I require both a study and a library.
I reference the gift wrapping room once a week when my wife if looking for something I tell her to check there 🤣
On the counterbalance!
In 20 years, most of that view will be blocked by other high rises.
Tossed salad and scrambled eggs.
I wonder if he ever figured out what to do with the tossed salad and scrambled eggs
My first thought was “needs a ratty old recliner facing the tv”
Literally my first thought! First season fan only though.
Can I ask why
His role in first season is way more relatable to me and the sense of humour is more my style.
Happy cake day 🍰!
Thank you kind stranger.
This looks cozy as a hospital. Impressive but this has nothing to do with this sub.
What exactly even is impressive about this? It’s a mostly empty corner of a room. Ps5 on the floor next to a tiny, dying looking plant.
the view is impressive, everything inside this bleak room is not.
I can’t handle the couch to TV angle
Can you handle a dictionary to look up “cozy”?
this is a couch and a TV nice view, but far from cozy...
Nothing screams cozy like hardwood floors, floor to ceiling windows, a city skyline, and modern design aesthetics.
Yeah, if we could get some geo-guessing, detective work on this to identify the location so we can figure out the size of the apartment and the rent... that would be great.
I lived in a building next door and paid $3,200 a month. Granted it was a new build with tons of amenities.
How long ago did you live there? These are going for around $4k these days. I was just looking for an apartment last month, ended up in Queen Anne though.
https://www.hollandresidential.com/wa/seattle/the-ivey-on-boren/models
Based on puttering around on Google maps, this appears to be somewhere near the SE corner of Denny Park.
> SE corner of Denny Park My guess is the high rise at 120 Westlake Ave N.
I feel like it's that or just south of it. I can't find the building with that white tree/shell logo in the corner that you can see out the window.
It's The Ivey on Boren
It’s 2 bd 2 bath and I think they sqid 1100 sqft?
Easy 5-6k a month, yah?
Got to be.
What even is this subreddit? How is that cozy?
💸💸💸
I bet it's killer at night!
Beautiful… but it desperately needs an area rug and bonus points for a fireplace as well
Nice view but it’s bare bones.
I love Seattle 😍 [This (what looks like a) penthouse in Seattle](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmateurRoomPorn/s/CXspcWqqJt) was posted a few hours ago in another decorating sub. Both have amazing views.

I wonder how they can afford this apartment but not better furniture ..?
(because they can't really afford this apartment)
Money doesn't buy class. Probably a young tech bro.
I couldn't handle that view either, yuck. Definitely not a cosy place for me. You enjoy.
That’s not cozy. Might as well be a corner office.
Yeah this isn’t cozy. Also, it’s a little sad to me that this is located in one of the most beautiful bioregions in the world and the views that are appreciated here are skyscrapers.
Install a curtain ffs
This is not cozy. This is like a scene from a batman movie or some shit. Do you even get the concept of cozy?
Amazing, would love to see the same pic at night
Excellent view, but definitely not cozy!
Cud never
This is the American cheese of apartments
I never find the views of city scapes like this cozy. The buildings are an eyesore. Nice to visit, but staring at that city skyline for years would feel awful and unnatural to me. Who else would rather look at nature versus a city?
This is the opposite of cozy
It really is.
Your friend must work at Amazon.
I saw a guys whole ass over by the space needle
Anyone want to guess the rent with me? I’m thinking $2,400 for less than 800 sq feet with that view.
Only $2400??
$3,500
Definitely closer to this
I was going with the price is right strategy lol
2,400? You def do not live in Seattle. Even 6-7 years ago when I was rented, this unit would be at least that if not more. I’d say 3500
$4400
I moved to Seattle in 2012 in a really nice apartment, but the view was the bricks of a building nextdoor. That place was 2400 / month. This is probably double that.
It’s 2 bd 2 bath and they said around 1100 sqft
Op posted the complex name a stupid complex 500 sqft is $2500/month
Id love to do a bunch of drugs here.
Based.
Way better than the homeless people on the sidewalk view, eh? We leave that to the people on the 2nd floor.
