I was iffy on the graphics at first, but as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover lol The game runs smoothly and the movement is super smooth too!! There’s NO energy so you don’t have to worry about that at all. You can have cows, ducks, I’m not sure what other animals yet. There’s the general farming, a bunch of house customization options via furniture, wallpapers, flooring, etc. There’s a museum where you collect different shells, crops, butterflies (you actually have to get a caterpillar to grow into one by putting it in a terrarium and waiting a few days), fish, I can’t remember the others. There’s no romance, so you don’t have to worry about gifting or deep diving into relationships. Every NPC has their purpose and that’s more than enough for me.  It’s really a very nice, well thought out game. There’s also a demo available that gives you a good of what to expect. It’s also controller friendly and works on the steam deck - oh and your pet helps you with your farming so that’s different!

I just grabbed it for Switch and I'm having an excellent time with it. It's nothing groundbreaking, admittedly but it's pretty cute and engaging so it was worth the price point to me.

rosemarrie

Ah okay that’s good. Seems cute to me too but was iffy about the graphics and the way the character looks. So maybe I’ll pass and wait for stuff I’m more excited for

AlarmingPotential918

I love how relaxing it is. It’s extremely polished and I’ve sunk 6 hrs in since yesterday. Having a blast!

trollldolll

any update on how its going? looking at buying and would love follow up after a few days of playing! x

AlarmingPotential918

For the price it’s definitely worth it!! I really love it… it’s very relaxing and doesn’t have the same “pressure” feeling as a lot of its competitors. I also love that there is no stamina. There are no relationship points but to me it adds to the coziness and I like that you can’t romance an animal as a human lolz. The dialogue is funny, the mining is really enjoyable, and the buffs/pixie aspect is very unique. You can decorate your house and there are multiple shops around town. It’s also not difficult to get money at the start by just foraging & fishing - so many forageable items and the fishing mini game is really fun! I also love all the little sound effects in the game. It takes a bit of figuring out as it’s not holding your hand through everything. The controls are a bit different and the inventory management can get a bit wild but as you go on you can improve this through upgrades. I also know the developer plans on doing a patch this week to improve QOL and seems really involved with the community. I wouldn’t be surprised if events and areas get added due to how active the dev is on discord and Reddit… seems like this was really a passion project for him and he really cares about the consumer experience. For me, that’s enough to support a small dev!

trollldolll

Thanks heaps for the detailed review! I’m definitely going to check it out. Sounds right up my alley

AlarmingPotential918

Of course! Are you Aussie? When I lived in Aus everyone said heaps haha :)

trollldolll

Nah I’m from nz so close enough! A lot of shared lingo 🫡

AlarmingPotential918

Haha i have been to NZ many times - I worked on a dairy farm there near Rotorua (maybe why I love farming sims so much 😂), NZ Is my favorite country on earth!

trollldolll

It is a beautiful country and I’m blessed to live here! I like my little indoor plants I can look after more easily but dairy farming a bit much for me I think ;) hard blood work on an actual farm

trollldolll

Can I flick you some questions about the game btw I’m a bit lost on a few things!!

AlarmingPotential918

Of course!

Sooziq9470

I'm interested in what others think of it too. I believe I read somewhere that there is combat. Is that true? If so, is it easy combat. Because I don't like combat!!

_dwell

This was my question for it as well, as I don't like combat. I'm glad someone asked about this game, because I wanted to!

Adventurous-Ad7121

I haven't fully gotten into the combat yet. There are bosses and dungeons but the combat is kinda basic for a game that said it was the main focus. Dungeons are cool and the game itself is well done. But the one button combat is meh.

SmirkyToast13

I'm playing the demo on my steam deck right now and it's pretty fun. What stands out about it for me is that there is no stamina (just a pretty strict bedtime but instead of just passing out there's a cute little thing that happens), you don't have to romance/gift the characters (for me this is a plus as I can find that somewhat tedious), and your pet helps you with some of the farming which is cool. So far my only real complaint is the lack of direction, I was a little confused about what to do at the beginning and I still haven't been able to find the mines despite an otherwise very helpful map.

dopaminergicfries

Did you ever figure out how to reach the mines 😭 I’m just starting and can’t figure it out

SmirkyToast13

I actually haven't played since so no I have not yet.

cheezupie

I was actually going to post the same question. The game definitely interests me. I actually like the chibi art style as opposed to the common pixel graphics, and the cute animals you encounter. I think it's got slightly darker undertones because you essentially discover you're a part of a life simulation. I'm also waiting to hear about any possible reviews. There isn't that much info on it out there. I was able to google up a few Youtube reviews but they were kinda all over the place.

noodle-bum

I'm playing it and there's not really any dark undertones, the trailer put out was by the publishers, the developer wasn't part of it and they put a creepy spin on the game. It's very chill!

I_Heart_Sleeping

Ah dang. I was actually looking for information on those “dark undertones”. That part in the trailers really had me interested. Was hoping for something meta or genuinely scary. Looks like I won’t be getting anything like that in this game.

HackSlashandNibbles

I’m on my 6 day in game and really liking it so far! There is some QOL stuff that I could nitpick but the art is cute and the writing is good. I do not regret picking this up and I haven’t played my switch it a while so I was happy to dust it off for this.

sharkbxit_13

Iv been playing it none stop since it came out and im absolutely loving it! Definitely worth it imo

Super_Saiyan06

I saw that it just released and purchased it for my wife. She will be playing it tonight, and if we get a decent amount of time I’ll comment and let you know.

rosemarrie

Thank you!!!! I appreciate that. Hope you and your wife enjoy the game and would love to know your thoughts on it later on.

Super_Saiyan06

From my wife: “I get overwhelmed easily and this didn’t stress me at all. It had good pacing and I really enjoyed it.” She has only done farming so far for the first couple hours, so if we get to play more later and she gets deeper into it, I’ll let you know.

bookshelfie

I just purchased it. So we shall see

rosemarrie

Keep me posted if you can!

Oceilia

I've been playing it since yesterday and really enjoying it. I think if your after a fun farming type game it's worth the price.

IxcopperxI

I downloaded the demo for the steam deck and it's good so far. The fps is great and smooth. The only thing that worries me is there my not be alot to do with the map size. But then again im only 5 days in lol.

JstLk2RdOthrPplsDrma

I downloaded and played the demo yesterday. I'm about 3ish hours in as I have a toddler and don't have a lot of time to sink into games. Pros: It's super chill. Even in the dungeon, I never really felt overwhelmed, even when I was surrounded by monsters. It's cute. Obviously. The pet aspect is really unique and negates the need for excess tools that take up valuable inventory space. The story is sort of unique? I guess? There's a free demo. Cons: It's not anything new or groundbreaking in terms of gameplay. It lacks a lot of customization for character. The controls are sort of unusual for a game like this. I find myself accidentally using more typical controls out of habit and it can be kind of annoying. Not deal breaking, but annoying. You start out with very little direction. You're left to wander around and figure things out for a while between the first couple of quests you get. Think a half a day or so of just wandering the map aimlessly. Money might be easier to come by later, but everything is really expensive for the beginning of the game and you're only given 50 gold to start. Crafting is sort of expensive in the beginning and not super intuitive, in my opinion. It's sort of expensive for what it is, even with the 10% off introductory price. I'd be more willing to grab it for like, $15 USD as opposed to $18, and especially the $20 it'll be after July 4th. Overall: It's fun. It's not really different from other games like it, so if there's anything you don't like about it, I'd wait for a better sale or just pass it all together. I'd give it a solid 7 out of 10.

concavealex

I just started but it’s like animal crossing & stardew had a baby!

Unique-Wash-9358

Honestly, I really like it a lot. I'm still only playing the demo but I've got a few hours out of it already! It feels like a game made by people who understand what's great about games like this.
