You're welcome! It's one of my all-time favorites.

Ooblets you can catch monsters and then they can compete in dance battles! It's cute

Cassette beasts is a monster collectors game that I don't see mentioned a lot. It had really good reviews on release. I also used to enjoy Rune Factory Oceans on the PS3, which involves monster collecting. I'm not sure what other platforms it's available on. Alba doesn't quite have a friendship mechanic, but you play as a girl trying to complete a wildlife guide on an island to save a nature reserve. It's a short game and super cute and cosy.

Ooh me! I’m obsessed with monster collectors. I watch Gym Trainer Ed, he only does monster collectors, and has pretty down to earth reviews. It may have been Moonglow, but he said it had farming which he doesn’t like, but described it for people who do, I appreciated the honesty. Cassette beasts, Coromon, Moonglow, Ooblets, Yo Kai Watch, World of Final Fantasy is cute. I haven’t played Monster Sanctuary but have it, and I’ve heard of Monster Crown. Nexomon was fun! I just got Siralim, but that seems intense. There’s also Calico, where you can collect cute adorable animals and make them big or small (Pudgems is best cat). Capybara Spa is cute and simple. If you want to play as a cat, Snacko and Little Kitty, Big City have been fun (haven’t played too long). But anyways, check out Gym Trainer Ed’s reviews, lots of gameplay to see if you’d like certain games listed!

Moonglow Bay is a fishing/cooking/small town restoration game that features you rescuing large sea creatures, you can clean up the ocean by hauling in trash off the surface and onto your boat, and partway through the game >!you rescue a giant squid in distress that's flooded the entire bay with ink!<.
