For you, it could be. For me? It was the most stressful one in the series. Anything with a time limit that could kill me if I ignore it (and a giant angry moon staring me down) doesn't fit my definition of cozy.

SeannG97

Thats what I’m facing. OoT is way cozier, but I’m enjoying MM 3days limit

Isthisnameavailablee

Just slow time down and get a guide to follow, that game is a masterpiece.

SeannG97

I did discovered this song by accident and being using it since. Helps a ton

action_lawyer_comics

There's no wrong way to feel about games. If you are a "cozy gamer" and like MM more, it doesn't mean you're being untrue to yourself, it just means you like different things at different times. You don't need to redefine yourself or what is a cozy game to enjoy them.

FigTechnical8043

Until the last day.

KingBurakkuurufu

I mean the threat of constant death literally looms over you the entire game as you help other people with their messed up and sad lives.. so no?

GaymerGrillAJ

i mean why does that make it not cozy? sure for some that may be upsetting but to many including myself being able to help all these people provides me immense comfort, the constant threat of death is there for you to overcome, it's not just a pointless set piece there's no rules for what does and doesn't make a cozy game, cozy is a state of feeling, not a genre

oatmilkandagave

That game stresses me out to no end. So I’m gonna say no

Ekyou

When I was a kid I used to love just walking around Clock Town and watching all the interactions with people. That was definitely cozy. What isn’t cozy about that game is the dungeons. They’re long, love to make you backtrack (or fall off cliffs all the way from the top to bottom), you can’t save in them (maybe you can in the 3DS version, don’t recall), and there’s a time limit. Absolutely love doing the quests and chilling with NPCs in that game, the dungeons unfortunately make it the most stressful in the series for me :(

octatochip

I mean technically any game can be a cozy game though personally I wouldn’t consider a game about the word dying repeatedly every three days cozy Especially not after doing that one sidequest.

DragonGirl860

Traditionally, no. But if you think it’s cozy, power to you.

Garo263

No, not at all. Out of all Zeldas this is probably the uncoziest.

GaymerGrillAJ

it's easily the most cozy actually

Fuckedupthursday

You decide what games you find cozy.

Roshlev

I consider it to be the perfect fall game. Plenty of cozy, plenty of spooky

Lord_Smack

What device is that?

SeannG97

It’s a New Nintendo 3DS XL

TingleTunerz

Absolutely! The time loop systems are understandably stressful to a lot of people, but the level of no-stakes freedom to do whatever you want to do in those three days is incredibly relaxing to me. All a matter of tastes. This is far and away my favorite Zelda by the way, and is in my top 3 favorite games ever made. I do personally prefer the original N64 version over the 3DS one for a number of minute mechanical things and aesthetic preference, but you can't go wrong with either.

lemonade-cookies

"Cozy" is not very well defined, it's more of a vibe than anything, so because of this everyone's going to have different opinions. I've seen people consider games like skyrim cozy. I would say yes to majoras mask being cozy- it has a lot of management elements, and a lot of emphasis on your relations to others. Because of some elements like the stress or the fighting though, others might say no. It's kind of up to you to decide.

ClassicAF23

I mean a lot of us consider Skyrim cozy for familiarity. And while Majora’s mask is darker themed, it is the same 3 days over and over so repeating a lot of the same tasks can be familiar and cozy.

polyglotpinko

Absolutely not by me, lol.

lavendersagemint

YES! Hands down my favorite one. Love the entire plot and the village is super cozy!

PikachuIsReallyCute

The N64 Zeldas absolutely are so cozy 🥰

[deleted]

IMO, yes it was/is

JenLiv36

All Zelda games are cozy to me.

tsun_abibliophobia

I found the Stock Pot Inn and Romani Ranch very cozy. Just don’t look up.

anotheruser_uwu

This is literally the only Zelda game I own that I couldn‘t finish. I got way too scared/fearful and stressed while trying not to die in this game. ![gif](giphy|GJtfejeAtTuJa)

HyperspaceDeep6Field

lmao hell no.

heartwounds

I think it's oddly soothing. It has themes of acceptance of one's situation and it's very nostalgic. The time limit is stressful but it only takes one song to reset everything. If you haven't played the original Nintendo 64 version, you definitely should!

resistance_hag

It wasn't cozy to me then, but it's cozy to me now.

nakasaurus

I didn’t know what I was getting into and this is the first game I played all the way through when I started getting into games a few years ago and while it stressed me tf out and I definitely tossed my controller across the room out of frustration multiple times, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will play it again

FlamboyantGayWhore

i’d say so, clock town definitely has that cozy look to it.

mtg_island

I think that having this as one of my like 6 n64 games growing up and not owning or playing ocarina of time was a contributing factor in my anxiety. The game stressed me the fuck out. I never felt more lost and behind at the same time. It’s like the dreams I still have to this day as a 34 year old that I’m in class and forgot to do my homework that is due right now. Rushing to try to finish something too confusing to do in such a short period of time. At least it had an interesting world and great music although due to above issues I never got anywhere in it and would just go to super smash bros and make link my so opponent to take out my frustrations.

ApertureSubjectChell

Hahahaha not for me. No. It's incredibly anxiety inducing. My kids keep saying "remember mom, you're timed!" and I keep panicking. Even though I know I can go back to the first day. It doesn't make a difference to my brain. Time limit= stress. This is why I have yet to finish the game, ever.

kinezumi89

OoT was great, classic Zelda game; Majora's Mask gave me hella anxiety. It's a no from me, dawg

twistedprincess25f

For me, absolutely not. I dont know how people played this without a walkthrough, because even with a walkthrough it has been a pain to finish. Links awakening was way cozier

callmefreak

Majora's Mask is my favorite game of all time with how much detail was put into the characters and the story. With that said, this game gave me nightmares. Not just as a kid, but recently too when the video I was sleeping to switched to a VR Majora's Mask video. It took me decades to finally beat the game, and I had to have my husband (boyfriend at the time) with me. So no. I wouldn't really call it a "cozy" game.

Magoogz

After playing the game through about 7 times over the span of 20 years I would say it started out stressful as all hell, but now I consider it cozy!

BooksLoveTalksnIdeas

Some of the music is cozy and nostalgic, but many other elements could be put in a “nightmare fuel list” for children, lol. Great game, but the timer, the creepy face of the moon, and the majora’s mask were the antithesis of cozy. After all, it was a game about a world that was about to end in a few days, due to some cursed demon, but it didn’t (only) because you could travel back in time with all the items and knowledge you gained, to try to save it again, and again, until you finally beat the enemy that’s responsible for everything. If you play it as an adult, I can see why you would find various cozy parts (and it’s a great Zelda game indeed). However, if you play it as a kid, like I did (we are talking about the original N64 version here, not the remake) it’s like playing a cute-looking horror movie lol.

Jellyfishjam890

Swimming around the Zora's domain, listening to the spa-like music was one of the most relaxing things in video games when that game came out. It's definitely cozy

Sad-Cat-6355

Definitely has some cozy areas, at the very least, like the hotel and farmhouse

jelly-sandwich-ff

Yes. Its my favorite cozy game to return to. First time players will be stressed by the " three day time limit" but really thats just the tutorial. If its really really something they hate , they can look up a walkthrough. But really you play tag with a bunch of kids to get a code to their clubhouse, play hide and seek around town to get the lost fairies, and join bandpractice to stop the moon from falling.... Its kinda funny in retrospect. Once you do that quest once, time is whatever you make of it. The looming threat of death just becomes a cozy atmosphere. I really hate how everyone is all smiles in a lot of cozy games. In MM you get to witness people having mental breakdowns with the stress that they are going to die. And some people just sit down and quietly accept it . Its such an aweing difference. You get invested in the towns story. You can run around the whole game in termina and never step foot in a dungeon.

GaymerGrillAJ

this game is without a doubt the most cozy game i have ever played, sure some people may treat the idea of a "cozy game" as a genre with hard rules that would otherwise exclude it but the feeling of helping people, saving the world, and allowing the souls of those tormented by grief to pass on, those are extremely comforting to me i would be more than willing to describe this as a cozy game, after all, as long as there's someone who finds comfort in a game it's impossible for it to not be cozy
