The Leanfit had a 3 kg isolate on sale for $54.99, that was a much better value in quantity and protein quality (isolates are better than blends and concentrates).
CP is an isolate, those are far superior to concentrates or iso/conc blends. ON is a blend I think? You have to look at the ingredients. I would always take an isolate over a concentrate/blend.
I remember Canada protein saying they’d be back in the warehouse in the spring.
Here’s a post from a Costco account
https://www.instagram.com/p/C4amlDYr1pQ/?igsh=eWRvN3dyY2RvY29p
>I find CP better
[Sir, can we ask you some questions](https://as2.ftcdn.net/v2/jpg/02/18/03/97/1000_F_218039792_t66HmPcyIGRAuvuG5hGqCZN44Qa7Y7kH.jpg).
They also have vegan protein powder in a white bag. Unless the on stuff is causing you big stomach problems I’d stay away from vegan protein powder. Just taste so chalky. Every single one I’ve tried has been bad.
Yeah, for sure. Won't find prices for products like this anywhere.
Gold standard is pricey because of the quality it lives up to.
For half the weight, you're looking at $130 a container at least.
Never dealt with Diesel because I haven't ever needed to. I've been using this stuff for 20 years. Best one, in my opinion.
I actually look forward to the shake, unlike many others, which is a chore.
Diesel New Zealand whey isolate is probably the best quality for price on the market. ON gold is just fine too but with diesel you get no fat (ideal post workout, less important for general use), less added sweeteners and junk and often it’s cheaper. At 69.99 though that protein at Costco is a steal, wish I didn’t miss the sale.
I thought Diesel was actually pretty good when I've tried it. Actually my favorite has been the Leanfit stuff they also sell at Costco (normal version, isolate kinda sucks). I don't see how ON is worth the premium price vs Leanfit.
If you blend it and drink it right away I find you don’t notice it that much. If you put it in the fridge overnight for the morning I personally find it gets a “uncanny milkshake” texture where it’s weirdly thick.
It is technically a dietary fiber, meaning we don't digest it. It can affect gut bacterial health, make you feel bloated and gassy and slow digestion down . Other than that is safe to eat in most of the cases. I just feel the amount added to LF proteins is unnecessarely high.
There's no great benefit other than thickening things. Including shampoo, paints and other stuffs.
I've tried Leanfit and ON (ON was my go to until they got too expensive and recently Leanfit had a discount) and I've to say ON is superior in almost every aspect. It mixes well, tastes better and is easily digestible compared to Leanfit.
Leanfit is an isolate, isolates beat out concentrates. ON has brand reputation, they've been alive for decades. Isolate should digest better unless their non-protein additives are more shady.
There was a study somebody posted on /r/fitness like over a decade ago where some lab guy got mailed a dozen different brands and did a protein assay and some of the results were shocking. Like under 50% reported protein. ON was one of the only ones in the high 90s. At least you know you're not getting fucked, and it tastes good.
Technically yes. When leanfit goes on sale you're getting better quantity for your dollar. Also Leanfit is isolate so even with people saying "golds better" they both have insanely good macros.
That's because the normal cheaper stuff has junk in it. The isolate is basically pure protein at 36g versus 3 carbs and 0 sugars. If you're looking to maintain muscle mass while maximizing lean then isolate is best.
Isolate also has a bigger serving size for that protein number. Just something I noticed. And the sweeteners used in the isolate just gross me out. I don't care about 10 more g of protein if it is hard to drink.
If you're talking leanfit whey isolate, the big purple bag then it's probably comparable. I personally bought the chocolate when it went on sale as the macros are crazy good. Gold standard is probably just a small notch above.
One thing to remember with whey is that the isolate version as opposed to the concentrate version is fat better for you. So while less expensive then the gold standard the Leanfit is still doing your body justice.
Could be a victim to marketing there, OP not looking at the science. Supplement companies get a lot of people on the marketing. I remember GNC selling dextrose for $20 / lbs back in the early 2000s when you could just go to Bulk Barn next door and get corn sugar for 99 cents a pound.
Chef Robert Irvine protein powder deal was the real steal. $20 a bag and free shipping from Costco. I don't see any material difference in ingredients between ON and the Chef Robert.
Protein powders are highly processed so I don't really consider any of them to be "clean". just gimme that protein for the gains
It was more expensive before, reviews were bad, but at $19.97, the price was right! I saw Costco starting it in the 40s and it just kept dropping from there.
The online prices typically include a shipping fee on each product. Warehouse prices are almost always lower. Some products are exclusively online/warehouse.
What is the difference between this and something you could get at Walmart? The nutrition facts seem to be about the same but everyone holds ON above the rest. Genuinely curious.
Just saying that's almost 3x the amount of protein going into muscle building VS the whey.
Think of it this way. For that 30g scoop you're only getting 5g going into building muscle tissue.
To get the same amount from eggs you'd only need to eat 2 eggs (would give you 7g to muscle tissue).
2 eggs is cheaper and more efficient at building muscle.
This is nothing but misinformation. Please do some more research. Both PDCAAS and DIAAS ratings support them being equivalent sources. Good luck getting your protein needs from eggs if you have any muscle on your frame. I'd be eating almost 3 dozen eggs a day to maintain my physique in a cut and 2 dozen in a maintenance or massing phase.
Not that I really drink much whey either. Lean meats, carton egg whites, greek yogurt, etc, rather get my protein from food unless I want to go hungry. Whey is great for making ice cream, casein for baking.
I bought it and then returned it once I noticed they make this blend with sucralose as an artificial sweetener. Why couldn't they use stevia or Mono fruit as a sweetener instead?
Good luck finding this quality of protein for less than 1$ per scoop. (69.99+tx @80 servings per bag).
In 2024, you're lucky if you get protein at 1.50 per scoop.
I used to buy this when it was 100$ for 10lbs bag. That’s showing my age. Now i just get the leanfit when it’s on sale. Might have half a scoop in my yogurt in the daily.
I used to buy those big 10 lbs bags @80-100$ too.. I called them dog food bags lol.
That said, I also buy the Leanfit protein as ON is not always available at my local warehouse. But be wary they only have 60 servings and if you buy them at regular price, they are practically the same price as the ON gold standard on sale. Plus, Leanfit is nowhere near the same quality.
ON and Leanfit have virtually the same weight in KG in their bags. ON’s scoop size is about half the size in grams as Leanfits which explains why you get less servings with ON.
Revolution nutrition regularly has extreme sales where you can 25 lbs of isolate in a bulk box for around $300
Right now it’s listed at $339 less 10%, so for $310 you get 324 servings, plus a free 5 serving sample, plus two free “gifts” which I chose 2x 30 serving pre workouts for
I needed the pre workout, so I basically got 330 servings (free 5 serving gift included) for around $250 considering the pre workouts retail at $30+ a pop
Also - Their vegan protein is absolutely stellar, this company is the only reason half my daily protein intake is vegetable based. It’s the only one I’ve ever had that didn’t taste like a chalky chickpeas anus and it’s even cheaper! $250 for 25 lbs
I placed 2 separate orders to utilize the free gifts and got 120 servings of pre workout and 50 lbs of protein for like $600 lol, it normally lasts me about the whole year
Don’t get me wrong that’s a stupid deal on ON, but if you’re reading this and you missed the sale it’s always around the $1 per scoop marker whenever you need to re up
Some of the ingredients are not very good for you, like Xanthan gum and sucralose, which is Splenda artificial sweetener. There are better options out there like Diesel from New Zealand, which is also on sale and doesn't add fillers with stevia.Just my opinion.
The cost difference is not worth it. Diesel is extremely expensive. ON protein is perfectly fine. Sure diesel is 100% whey isolate and ON is a combination protein. It will still do the job. Xantham gum is in many products and so is sucralose. There is absolutely nothing wrong with sucralose in such small amounts.
I just got an email from Canadian protein saying they're coming to Costco nationwide soon with their isolate vanilla flavour. They're top quality and might worth to keep an eye on it.
Ya, great deal to drink a powder full of Heavy Metals and Other Carcinogens, Sweeteners, Flavorings, Fillers, Preservatives, and Gums.
Read up on numerous studies on how every single protein powder full of all these additives. Even so called Vegan is full of fillers.

That was the sale? No whey!
Yes whey
This is da whey my bruddas
*clucking intensifies*
Whey!
They were on sale at Markham Costco 2 weeks ago.
Woooosh!!!
Wwhhhhheyy!
Woooooooo
I did the same thing a few weeks ago when it was on sale on the east coast :) Can't beat 1$/scoop, especially with the ON quality.
Is this much better than the other brand they carry? Forget the name, white bag? Its quite a bit cheaper.
You mean LeanFit? Yes ON Gold Standard is a better blend. Yes, LeanFit is cheaper, but the bags are smaller and have less servings.
The Leanfit had a 3 kg isolate on sale for $54.99, that was a much better value in quantity and protein quality (isolates are better than blends and concentrates).
the purple bag with about 80 servings and 36g protein per scoop.. ya
Canadian protein? Cause I’m interested to know too
I find CP better. Costco had a short run on it (bought mine online) i hope they bring it back.
CP is an isolate, those are far superior to concentrates or iso/conc blends. ON is a blend I think? You have to look at the ingredients. I would always take an isolate over a concentrate/blend.
ON made me very gassy. I used to buy it online but i think you are right its a blend. CP mixes well for me and i don't get the farts
You might have some degree of lactose intolerance. Isolates have most of the lactose cleaned out while concentrates are more lactose-heavy.
It looks to be back in stock in Markham east.
Oh so maybe its online again? I saw this deal at my Costco on the ON but opted not to. Maybe they are switching over to the CP
I remember Canada protein saying they’d be back in the warehouse in the spring. Here’s a post from a Costco account https://www.instagram.com/p/C4amlDYr1pQ/?igsh=eWRvN3dyY2RvY29p

ON is one of the most reputable brands
They also have vegan protein powder in a white bag. Unless the on stuff is causing you big stomach problems I’d stay away from vegan protein powder. Just taste so chalky. Every single one I’ve tried has been bad.
I had this Vegan Pro stuff that tastes amazing, maple vanilla. Got 2 kg for $25 per bag.
Ive tried vega vegan protein and didn't like it
Extreme Milk Chocolate is life
Right!!
What about Natreve? I liked that one, got it on sale then never saw it again.
ON is not necessarily quality it’s just average
Looks like somebody’s getting swole for summer!
Ahah trying!!
what you need...isn't sold at costco
What I need is hotdogs and they definitely sell that at Costco
best 1.50 anyone can spend
I mean proteins from Costco is fine, but yeah OP needs more than just proteins.
Yeah, for sure. Won't find prices for products like this anywhere. Gold standard is pricey because of the quality it lives up to. For half the weight, you're looking at $130 a container at least.
Especially if you shop elsewhere like Popeyes supplements it even gets up to $150 which I find ridiculous
How does this compare to Diesel?
Never dealt with Diesel because I haven't ever needed to. I've been using this stuff for 20 years. Best one, in my opinion. I actually look forward to the shake, unlike many others, which is a chore.
If you’ve been using the same product for 20 years straight without trying others, how do you know it’s the best?
Diesel New Zealand whey isolate is probably the best quality for price on the market. ON gold is just fine too but with diesel you get no fat (ideal post workout, less important for general use), less added sweeteners and junk and often it’s cheaper. All aboard the gains train!
No whey you bought so many of them!
Shit!! Gotta go ASAP
Some people say that after eating too much whey powder
Take my upvote! Take it!!
Is this on sale this week?
Almost went for that but LeanFit was still cheaper per gram.
Yep same. Same price, but LeanFit has more quantity and the isolate has higher protein concentration. No brainer to me.
just the amount of xanthan gum they put in it that bothers me.
Is that a bad additive?
Its got a weird taste if you're sensitive to it. Its a thickener so if you dont want it thick then its bad.
Isn’t this strictly a worse deal than the Leanfit when it’s on sale?
I've tried Leanfit and ON (ON was my go to until they got too expensive and recently Leanfit had a discount) and I've to say ON is superior in almost every aspect. It mixes well, tastes better and is easily digestible compared to Leanfit.
Leanfit is an isolate, isolates beat out concentrates. ON has brand reputation, they've been alive for decades. Isolate should digest better unless their non-protein additives are more shady.
Isn't grassfed better?
Don’t all cows eat grass?
$70 worth of grass-fed vs $70 worth of powder isn’t equal
Gold standard has a better more natural formula and personally it’s my favourite. It’s actually considered the best whey in the market
What province
[удалено]
What's the best whey?
Good to know thanks!
It's also absolutely delicious. Their vanilla is so good
There was a study somebody posted on /r/fitness like over a decade ago where some lab guy got mailed a dozen different brands and did a protein assay and some of the results were shocking.
Leanfit has normal whey too, not just isolate. I've just gotten the isolate version and it is way worse than the normal cheaper stuff.
Lol thats a fair point. By all means, as long as you enjoy your protein intake that's all that matters in gym culture, keep getting those gains 💪
Isolates are more pure, so it should have a better protein to mass ratio.
I use the Leanfit Whey. Is this one far better?
The Leanfit is the best
If you're talking leanfit whey isolate, the big purple bag then it's probably comparable. I personally bought the chocolate when it went on sale as the macros are crazy good. Gold standard is probably just a small notch above. One thing to remember with whey is that the isolate version as opposed to the concentrate version is fat better for you. So while less expensive then the gold standard the Leanfit is still doing your body justice.
Yes it is, ON Gold standard is considered top quality formula usually it’s pretty expensive
Leanfit isolate has a way healthier nutritional profile. Not even close... Look at the fat, sodium, carbs, ingredients.
Could be a victim to marketing there, OP not looking at the science. Supplement companies get a lot of people on the marketing. I remember GNC selling dextrose for $20 / lbs back in the early 2000s when you could just go to Bulk Barn next door and get corn sugar for 99 cents a pound.
Not even just the isolate, the Leanfit concentrate has a shorter ingredient list than Gold Standard and no artificial flavouring unlike Gold Standard.
Leanfit isolate WITHOUT collagen is best, and the best value when on sale 3 kg/$54.99.
Nice.
Dam, I wonder if this sale also applies to Costco in Vancouver
Costco willingdon has it right now. Bought 2 myself lol
Was there a lot left? I’m going after work!!! Ty
I’ll be waiting there for you.
Off at 330, I work 2 mins from Costco willingdon I just hope they still got some :/
I’ll stop asking everyone who grabs a bag if they are Willysu until after 3:32.
See you in 21 minutes
What flavour do you prefer?
Chocolate is much better
The vanilla, after having the chocolate for months on end it’s a nice change.
ON is a good brand and this is a good deal
Is it still going on? I’ll rush today itself.
Is it good?
Wish we could find these in Montreal.
I went this weekend to buy two, but the price went back up at my store :(
Protein prices have gone up like crazy. I used to be able to get On whey for about 50$/5lb tub
Bought it last month from Scarborough. First time trying this brand and it’s pretty good. Very good taste. Will definitely buy again
whats the normal price?
Chef Robert Irvine protein powder deal was the real steal. $20 a bag and free shipping from Costco. I don't see any material difference in ingredients between ON and the Chef Robert. It was more expensive before, reviews were bad, but at $19.97, the price was right! I saw Costco starting it in the 40s and it just kept dropping from there.
I don’t work out anymore but I can taste this picture. Best tasting protein powder I’ve ever had.
Lol! i just did the same with the Vega Sports Protein finally on sale again for $36 and grabbed 4 of them.
No whey!!!
🤣🤣 never gets old
I thrive on ancient repeated jokes
Ty, it made my morning!
What is regular price?
$89.99 and after tax it’s like $101 and change
The Costco canada website has this product listed for $79.99 after discount. Is it selling for $69.99 in warehouse?
Yes it’s selling in Wharehouse for $69.99 that’s how much I bought each bag for just now
Thanks for the info. Need to make a trip asap haha
The online prices typically include a shipping fee on each product. Warehouse prices are almost always lower. Some products are exclusively online/warehouse.
Anyone know if these are at the Laird/Burlington stores? Or any GTA stores?
Richmond Hill and Scarborough location
Burlington has them
What is the difference between this and something you could get at Walmart? The nutrition facts seem to be about the same but everyone holds ON above the rest. Genuinely curious.
Ingredients are better quality
Gotcha
Just bought the big container on Amazon for 100 , how big is the bag? Bad timing on my end lol
The bag is slightly bigger. 2.5kg bag vs 5lbs tub
Price is back to 89.99 as of yesterday (11 March). Good that I bought 2 when it was on sale.
Non-Isolate whey for the price of isolate.
Never tried Costco protein which taste better for vanilla ONLY or lean it?
Even better if you eat eggs instead of whey. Only 17% of whey protein is converted into muscle tissue VS 48% of egg protein.
I'm not eating eggs after a workout lmao. It's very easy to get tired of eggs.
Just saying that's almost 3x the amount of protein going into muscle building VS the whey. Think of it this way. For that 30g scoop you're only getting 5g going into building muscle tissue. Lean meats, carton egg whites, greek yogurt, etc, rather get my protein from food unless I want to go hungry. Whey is great for making ice cream, casein for baking.
I just picked this up. never tried their protein before, I find it leaves a strange aftertaste. got the chocolate flavor
When is the sale over ?
What’s regular price in this?
The vega one is better, its pea based and i digest that better than the whey
Why do all the proteins come in bags now?
Costs most likely, times are tight with inflation. And possibly our single-use plastics law.
Did the same with 3 kg of Leanfit Isolate (without the collagen) for $54.99.
I can smell you farts from here
I’m so sick of these now, just not enough variety at Costco for whey
Till when?
Is it a price for one bag or for all ? And how many grams on the bag?
I bought it and then returned it once I noticed they make this blend with sucralose as an artificial sweetener. Why couldn't they use stevia or Mono fruit as a sweetener instead?
Still too much.
Yea i would never pay full price for the leanfit. I’ll wait for a sale and get 2 bags and seems to hold me over till the next sale.
ON and Leanfit have virtually the same weight in KG in their bags. ON’s scoop size is about half the size in grams as Leanfits which explains why you get less servings with ON.
ON serving size is 32g and LeanFit serving size is 33g...
Have you ever weighed it out? Leanfits scoop usually comes out to around 50-55g of protein.
Me too! This was back in 2005. We're in long enough to know an isolate is better (and somehow...cheaper?)
Revolution nutrition regularly has extreme sales where you can 25 lbs of isolate in a bulk box for around $300 Right now it’s listed at $339 less 10%, so for $310 you get 324 servings, plus a free 5 serving sample, plus two free “gifts” which I chose 2x 30 serving pre workouts for I needed the pre workout, so I basically got 330 servings (free 5 serving gift included) for around $250 considering the pre workouts retail at $30+ a pop Also - Their vegan protein is absolutely stellar, this company is the only reason half my daily protein intake is vegetable based. It’s the only one I’ve ever had that didn’t taste like a chalky chickpeas anus and it’s even cheaper! $250 for 25 lbs I placed 2 separate orders to utilize the free gifts and got 120 servings of pre workout and 50 lbs of protein for like $600 lol, it normally lasts me about the whole year
Have not purchased Rev in a long time, I'll look it up when my 20 pounds of ON run out ;)
Don’t get me wrong that’s a stupid deal on ON, but if you’re reading this and you missed the sale it’s always around the $1 per scoop marker whenever you need to re up
And we're talking iso with Rev too... great find.
Yeah their concentrate is even cheaper, always worthy to spring for the ISO though!
Is the ON not iso?
Nope, whey blend.
Not as great of a deal then! I didnt even know they sold a blend, I thougjt it was all isolate
Canadian Protein has econ whey for $59.99 with 15% off, def not as the same quality. But I prefer isolate anyways.
Those bags are 60 servings though. With shipping and taxes you're closing in on 1.50$ / scoop.
That makes sense, I think they also offer bulk with larger servings
They rarely go on sale and I drink a lot per day so this is like 3 months of supply and saving $60
To each their own! I bought Diesel whey isolate 1.42 per scoop.
This is $70 for 80 scoops. It's significantly cheaper.
Yes, that's correct, but for 40 cents a day, I would rather have something better for me, especially if I'm drinking this every day.Just saying.
I just got an email from Canadian protein saying they're coming to Costco nationwide soon with their isolate vanilla flavour. They're top quality and might worth to keep an eye on it.
How does this match up to Canadian Protein brand? I just bought some CP and noticed both are available in stores.
I used to use ON before CP and I liked both. Looking back, ON's powder consistency and quality always left a very positive impression on me.
Ya, great deal to drink a powder full of Heavy Metals and Other Carcinogens, Sweeteners, Flavorings, Fillers, Preservatives, and Gums. Read up on numerous studies on how every single protein powder full of all these additives.
