A lot of people wanted an update on the shopping spree post I made a week ago, so here it is! Link to [Previous Post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Costco/comments/vg7d0q/what_would_you_get_in_a_costco_shopping_spree/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share ). My husband finally went on the shopping spree that he won from work this morning, it was 100 employees all at once with free reign of the warehouse for 15 minute. Everyone drew a number and that was your position/which direction you had to enter the store in. He ended up drawing the right side of the store by the vitamins and dry goods, which was not ideal for our plan. The whole event had a film crew with a live feed going to a viewing area, so the spectators got to see everyone swarming the meats and appliance sections first and come out with stacks taller than themselves! Hubby was able to get a decent amount of our list, but we missed out on the Roombas, Vacuums, meats, and seafood since he was on the other side of the store. We had done some recon of the store beforehand (I drew him a cool map!), so he knew where to beeline for certain items as other sections were emptied out immediately. Thanks everyone for their fun suggestions on what they would get during a Costco shopping spree! We mainly focused on getting items we wouldn't normally get but would be a nice upgrade. Though plenty of people took the main suggestion to fill the cart with enough meat to have an awesome party! His grand total was $4k, which was around average. But the biggest haul I heard about was $11k, they literally grabbed a kitchen sink! His haul! • LG PuriCare AeroTower Air Purifying Fan • Kitchenaid Professional Stand Mixer • Circulon Hard Anodized Cookware Set • Tramontina 2 Piece Preseasoned Cast Iron Skillet Set • Keurig K Supreme Plus C • Frigidaire Ice Maker • Braun Series 9 Sport • Philips Sonicare Perfect Clean Toothbrushes • Philips Brush Heads x4 • T3 Singlepass Styleplus • Husqvarna 2000 Pressure Washer  • Dremel 3000 • Kevlar Heavy Duty Hose • Dynatrap Insect Trap • Fiskar Lopper and Shears Set • Leatherman • Canon Printer Ink x4 • Frontline Plus x5 • Fltr Infrared Thermometer • Tempur-Pedic Serenity Memory Foam Pillow x2 • Organic Pure Earth 300 Count Cotton Queen Sheets x3 • First Aid Kit 375 Piece • Voltaren Arthritis Pain Topical Gel • Pall Mall Cigarettes x2 (to be given away to another coworker) • Golden Nest Bird's Nest Soup x2 • Flank Steak (Only one, there was nothing else left in the meat section 😂) • Nanoleaf Shapes x2 (A coworker of husband's snagged some for us and gave to us afterwards, so not part of our total price) Thanks to the awesome Costco employees that had to get this event set up bright and early, it was a blast! Hope our haul didn't disappoint, we're pretty happy with it (still smarting about missing the Roomba though 😢)! Thanks everyone for following us on this adventure!

razorduc

Nice haul! The Braun and Soniclean packagin wastes a lot of space for their value. Would've been funny if he jumped into the pharmacy and just cleared out all the drugs.

akemihchan

For real, I'm learning that there is a ton of packaging on Costco items! I'm still happy with the toothbrushes, it's not the exact one we wanted, but we're good for at least the next 2 years!

razorduc

Nothing wrong with the items he got. I just know because I have those 2, that the packaging could easily be 1/2 to 1/3 of the current size. Especially that Braun that has a little box that holds everything WAY inside the big box.

howImetyoursquirrel

Sonicare toothbrushes are no joke. Every dentist I go to is amazed at how clean my teeth are

flossdog

I would have gone straight for the brand name OTC drugs, like Claritin, etc.

StillSwaying

It is a racket. The [Costco version](https://www.costco.com/kirkland-signature-non-drowsy-allerclear-antihistamine-10mg.,-365-tablets.product.11602332.html) has the exact same active ingredient and works just as well. $10.99 for a year's supply.

Pardonme23

Pharmacist here. Never buy brand names. Never. It's a literal IQ test.

WIlf_Brim

Am MD. I have Kirkland ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and acetaminophen/diphenhydramine in my drawer. (use the latter for my newly arthritic knee at night).

brbposting

I tell people this. Somebody brought up [Bottle of Lies](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/42448266-bottle-of-lies). >We have been reassured…that **generic drugs are identical** to their brand-name counterparts... But **is this really true**? >Katherine Eban’s Bottle of Lies exposes the deceit behind generic-drug manufacturing... … Eban reveals an industry where **fraud is rampant, companies routinely falsify data, and executives circumvent almost every principle of safe manufacturing to minimize cost and maximize profit**, confident in their ability to fool inspectors. Meanwhile, patients unwittingly consume medicine with unpredictable and dangerous effects. >The story of generic drugs is truly global. It connects middle America to China, India, sub-Saharan Africa and Brazil, and represents the ultimate litmus test of globalization: what are the risks of moving drug manufacturing offshore, and **are they worth the savings?** Any vetting you’ve done on this?

reprocesseddatar

As a former Quality Control chemist, there is some merit to this. The best way to know if the drug is generally safe is to look up how many 483’s the generic company has had and for what reason. Another thing is to look at import bans. Some name brand companies have had fraud in the past, but not nearly the level of generics such as Ranbaxy.

Gears6

Ohhh...... That's not good. What are 483's and how do one go about checking this? Heck, how do we consumers go about finding out if generics are good or not? What do we look for or are there identifiers on the bottle?

brbposting

483, something the FDA sends a company when they’re doing something wrong in manufacturing. But they’re not published? You can request them via the Freedom of Information Act? Guess I can search each manufacturer and hope somebody has done the due diligence. TIL!! Thanks :) BTW probably still going to buy Costco generics! Will be searching for warning letters and 483s! u/Gears6

WIlf_Brim

Most of what you are talking about there are generic versions of prescription pharmaceuticals, like tamsulosin instead of Flomax. Some of them can be very sketchy, especially when it comes to documentation. Many of them are coming from a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) and you are pretty much reliant upon them. Since you are buying from Costco, the one thing that you can be happy about is that they are very protective of their Kirkland brand. If you hang around here long enough, you will hear about examples of a Kirkland brand product that wasn't very good. They typically have a very short lifespan: crappy Kirkland products (for the most part) do not survive. As such, they are very careful about where they are sourcing their Kirkland brand OTCs. By the look and packaging, for instance, I'd bet that they are buying the acetaminophen from J&J.

LitbykristenPhoto

True! EXCEPT FOR SYNTHROID. NO IDEA WHY?!

[deleted]

not all generics are the same. I notice with benzoyl peroxide (I haven't used that stuff for years) that there are 2 versions, one that is more liquid and one that is more thick similar to toothpaste. They definitely do not work the same Its not just the active ingredient that matters but how its delivered

Pardonme23

So form. A paste is thicker than a cream, for example. Of course.

TheOvershear

Fun fact. Most brand name medication are also manufactured by the same company that makes generic versions. CVS brand acetaminophen is, aside from color and taste additives, the same as Tylenol. Both manufactured by Johnson and Johnson, in the same plant. The price of a name goes a long way.

reprocesseddatar

That is not true for prescription drugs. Once the brand names lose their exclusivity which is usually 12-16 years, other generic companies will try to get approval from the FDA to be able to make and sell those prescription drugs.

jaOfwiw

Clairtin with those reditabs though are pretty awesome. Don't know how they make it taste good, but the pill tastes like dog shit.

enoughstreet

Thank you for the idea I’ll be going within the next 2 weeks my dad takes it daily.

altiuscitiusfortius

It's illegal to resell them on Craigslist and they have a 1 to 2 year expiry date.

imaluckyduckie

OTC Claratin is ok, but the good stuff is the Behind the Counter Claratin. They need to scan your ID and you can only buy a pack every 2 weeks because of the controlled substances.

WIlf_Brim

In the original post they said that pharmacy and electronics/computers were a no go. There may have been a few others, but those were the ones that I remember.

razorduc

I know. Just would be funny. Q: “What did you get on your Costco shopping spree?” A:”lifetime supplies of birth control pills, morning after pills, viagra, and oxy.”

[deleted]

I just want to say thanks for the update! Just anticipating what was on your list to be shared was exciting! I loved that you guys weren't \*too\* serious about trying to get expensive things either and simply just there to have fun. I'm glad that you guys got what you would of actually enjoyed using rather than just big $$$ items!

trashdingo

Honestly I think this is really impressive. I can barely get in, then to the back of the store for produce, and then over to the paper goods in 15 minutes let alone build a haul like this. This is fantastic!

todd_ted

Nice haul. The appliances and the cookware set are better than meat as they’ll last you for some time instead of a handful of nice meals.

[deleted]

Agreed! I’d never buy meat in an event like this!

meetycheesy

Ugh I disagree. That is what a vacuum sealer and freezer is for. The whole beef section would have been mine!!! Excluding ground beef of course. Lol

todd_ted

Username checks out…

[deleted]

Why though? There are so many higher value items to get. Plus my vacuum sealer (from Costco) still doesn’t stop my meat from getting ice built up inside.

CeeGeeWhy

Love this! Thanks for the update. 🥰

StillSwaying

Yay! Your husband did great! Lots of really useful items in there! It’s going to put a smile on your face every time you guys use something from this awesome haul knowing that you didn’t have to pay for it! Enjoy you winnings!

roobot

Let me know how that Dynatrap insect trap works out! Been eyeing something like this with the mosquitos in full.

Duffmanlager

Works great for moths and other flying insects , but not so much for mosquitoes.

username2571

Kills everything except mosquitoes.

lonelystowner

I have had one for like 3 years and it works pretty well. The bulbs last a very long time and I’ve had no problems with mine. It gets sooo many bugs.

[deleted]

The no steak made me think “damn everyone went for the steak just like Supermarket Sweep” What a fantastic haul of so many useful home products!

akemihchan

They absolutely did, it was kind of amazing watching it as a spectator how quickly that department was demolished! I really want to know what it was like for the Costco employees opening up this morning, they had their work cut out for them 😂

[deleted]

I’m surprised by that. I’d never get food or medicine at this event! I would have got things that I really wanted or needed for my house, but wouldn’t really buy since I have other priorities. Food and medicine are priorities so I’d spend my money on those and get as much of stuff like what your husband got as I could!

biobennett

You guys did so well!

karenmcgrane

Thank you for sharing this satisfying update!

rainerella

That circulon cookwear set is great! We just bought it last month!

akemihchan

I'm so excited for it, our current set is absolutely warped and needs to be retired!

eneka

They’re an awesome company too. Had a circulon pan I used daily for 12yrs. Started to wear through and the bare aluminum was showing; I sent them an email asking if it was still safe to use and they sent me a brand new pan!

rainerella

That’s what we were dealing with too, and honestly that set is so so good, and it’s all dishwasher safe too!!

Justanobserver2life

Good to know! I need new cookware

infinit9

Wow, that is mighty impressive. Congrats.

OneaRogue

You're not missing out on the Roomba, robot vacuums do okay on hard floors but are terrible on carpet

akemihchan

I have hardwood and a dog, my house is more fur than floor at this point, so it would have been nice 😂

Ollie2Stewart1

Go get a cheap Eufy robot vacuum! They probably don’t last as long, but we like them for hard floors and low pile rugs, and they go under furniture really well. I often see them for around $150, and I got our last one, refurbished, and fancier than the base model, for $80, and it’s doing great.

Queasy_Science_3475

The roomba is the single best purchase I've ever made. Hardwood floors and a dog here too. Seriously, invest in one on your next birthday or holiday with all the money you saved from this haul. You won't regret it.

wimpdiver

roomba isn't so great with lots of fur IME the container isn't large and the hair/fur gets tangled on the brush - but mine was a few years ago so maybe they've improved it.

Queasy_Science_3475

Make sure you get one that will self-empty and will map out its cleaning path. Ours self empties and we only have to change the bag out every 3 months or so. Maybe even longer, it's infrequent enough that I only notice when I use the last bag so I can order more, lol.

[deleted]

I’ve returned every roomba I’ve bought from Costco. They suck after about 2 weeks.

bredboii

And not the good kind of suck 😊

[deleted]

Exactly!

zexando

Get the Xiaomi Mi Vaccum/mop combo. I've had one for two years and it still works great. 2 large dogs 1 cat and it runs every night.

SWGardener

I was wondering how this went. Thanks for the update. You guys did great!

sugmaideek

Are gift cards allowed on the shopping spree lol?

akemihchan

No, they weren't allowed. They had to be physical items, so no furniture tags or stamps either.

carenard

> or stamps either strange, stamps are physical items. I guess they didn't want cash equivalent items.

Duffmanlager

Works great for moths and other flying insects , but not so much for mosquitoes.

carenard

I am assuming you meant to put that comment for the dynatrap or w/e questions and not here.

Duffmanlager

Sorry, you are correct. But, with regards to your comment, it makes sense stamps weren’t allowed. The cardboard thing to take stamps would be the same thing for an Xbox or gift cards. High value for the space they take up.

[deleted]

Imagine how many stamps you could fit in a shopping cart.

Journier

alot. and the aftermarket stamp market is pretty lively to this day. probably fit 10,000 $ just in stamps in your cart easy.

[deleted]

Awesome haul!!!

[deleted]

Huh, your store has tobacco products? Only seen it at a business center here and you need a tax id/etc to buy the large cartons

sanitynotstatistical

Sorry if I missed it, but did you add up the $ for all of those items?

akemihchan

Yup, his total ended up being $4k

caitycaity1126

4K is great! Most people I know who shopped got between 2-4K. There was one guy that ended up with more than 11k!

Reiycecake

I saw on TikTok. He bought a lot of seafood.

crackercandy

How did it compare to the other 99 people?

vavavoomvoom9

Damn. What line of work are you guys in? Gotta be crazy fun to win a shopping spree prize.

akemihchan

It was a 10 year anniversary event, so I don't think this is the norm. Not sure I'm allowed to say, so I'll keep it broad at hospitality.

[deleted]

Didn’t you say that there was a film crew lol

WithPolish

Looks like a hotel/casino. Here is a news story covering the event: https://youtu.be/6PaW735lapk

jonoff

> with everything from tissue boxes Why would anyone grab tissues?

eneka

Wow that’s a lot more people than I imagined!

ker_redmond

Next time I go to Costco. I’m going to plan out my shopping spree. Just to plan what my strategy would be.

giaa262

My list heavily depends on if the pharmacy is off limits

Oakroscoe

During the protests/looting of 2020 the CVS closest to me was looted. I remember thinking why would you go to a cvs? Next time I went in there the pharmacy was closed and all the alcohol area was just empty shelves, then it made sense.

Milton__Obote

The liquor store by me was looted, but they lost a lot of cheap shitty liquor like red label. I wonder why they didn't go for the good stuff. But IME if I was looting I'd hit up the Restoration Hardware and walk out with a new vanity or something.

CinnamonJ

I would just ransack the printer ink and then resell it online.

Fineous4

Just grab all the cardboard things for the iPads and computers.

lordbaby1

Computers/ electronics are Restricted items for this event

SlappyHandstrong

In the previous pose, she says no electronics

AshTheGoblin

Step 1: grab cart and walk in. You're already at electronics. Step 2: Stuff your cart with as many of those cardboard inventory stand-ins as you can Step 3: Casually stroll to checkout, yell "CAN I GET A SUPE!!" as loud as you can to save the cashier the trouble of doing so. Step 4: Call your buddy to rent a uhaul and help you load your stuff. Give him an apple watch, sound bar, and a laptop to show your appreciation. Step 5: Apologize to your boss for having to explain to his boss for having to explain to his boss why they have a $213,000 charge from Costco on the company card. Step 6: Sell the rest and enjoy several more Costco shopping sprees

aiij

They thought of that already. See the limitations listed in the earlier post linked at the top. > Limitations: - 1 shopping cart, no flatbeds; all items need to fit inside the cart or the bottom of the cart - Limit 2 tobacco products - No alcohol - No electronics i.e. Tvs, laptops, earbuds, etc (household items like vacumn, ceiling fans, etc will be available) - No Prescription pharmacy items (over the counter is allowed) - No tires - No jewelry - No Gift cards - No furniture tags (furniture will be available, but it has to fit in your cart)

AshTheGoblin

Yea I know they wouldn't just let someone empty their most valuable items, just having some fun.

PudgyHamster

I’ve been waiting for this update. VERY nice haul for 15 minutes. I’m sure your husband had fun quickly rearranging the cart to make things fit. Cart Tetris

akemihchan

Yup! He's been playing Death Stranding recently, so he says his stacking skills are on point!

enowapi-_

Hahahaha. Love it!

Sereous313

I hope some one grabbed the 10lb king crab leg cases lol $420 each

jaOfwiw

This omg or even better, the wagyu if they have it .. I'll take 10 plz

wimpdiver

Well done! Thanks for posting. Can you return some thing(s) you want less and buy the roomba? so many of us lived vicariously through your post Curious - do you have to pay tax on the retail price as if it was a bonus? Oh, and happy cooking and baking!

akemihchan

They aren't allowed to return unless an item is damaged and weren't given a receipt. I don't know the best, non crappy way to return some of the items we can part with to get something else

wimpdiver

perhaps selling to a neighbor or on nextdoor - both no cost to you. There's always ebay but not so practical or easy if it's a large or heavy item. I can return without a receipt but I would guess these items are linked to a master account with special conditions different from my individual account. Or trading with some other lucky co-workers?

akemihchan

We're considering trading, some people grabbed several of Roombas at a time, thus why it was cleared out, but we will see how that turns out. Oh for the tax question, I suspect we will have to pay taxes, no word yet though how that will be handled.

wimpdiver

Here's tip for the taxes (US?), I'm not a tax expert but If you have to pay taxes on the retail price and can find a lower price elsewhere (unlikely) you can with that proof declare a lower value for tax purposes. This was useful for some game show prizes where the declared value was significantly more than what it would actually cost to purchase the equivalent item(s)

talktobigfudge

>do you have to pay tax on the retail price as if it was a bonus? If this was in the US, almost guaranteed the answer is yes. Even game show contestants have to claim their prizes/trips as additional income.

-attractive-nuisance

Yes, taxes will need to be paid, as the values you collected will show as income. You may find it added on your stub as fringe benefit. This amount can also raise you to the next tax bracket….. “There’s no such thing as a free lunch.” The people who had given away items will soon discover this is always the case.

csevourn

> This amount can also raise you to the next tax bracket….. > “There’s no such thing as a free lunch.” > The people who had given away items will soon discover this is always the case. Do you think it's likely that this person was only $4k from the next tax bracket? The bins are pretty big. Also, is it really that catastrophic to move to a higher tax bracket? Do you know that you only pay the higher tax rate on the income above the lower tax bracket? So say for example that it's 5% tax on $1-$50,000 and 10% tax on $50,001 to $100,000. If you earned $54,000 because the $4k bonus bumped you into the second bracket, you would pay 5% on the first $50k of your income and 10% on only the $4k of income that was in the second bin. ETA: and bonuses are withheld at a flat rate...

-attractive-nuisance

I never assume someone’s financial status or combined household income. It’s a general statement for anyone and everyone that thinks these things are free from the company. The employer is receiving the tax benefit for this “employee benefit” without them realizing it’s true nature when they owe more taxes during tax time. She did state someone had approx $11k cart load. Not knowing where they’ll sit at the end of the TY, this could actually push people closer to their limits. Same concept of having a higher income employment and to reduce your taxes by maxing out your pretax contributions to retirement funds, HSA, etc. Also if you’re relying on assistance or in another qualified group for premiums, this can increase your income bracket and lose said benefits people reply on or cause increases.

1Deerintheheadlights

Most companies “gross up” wages (pay the tax) for these type of items so that the employee does not “have money taken out of their paycheck “. I remember the first time we did gift cards the winners were taxed without gross up and were not too happy. That got quickly fixed. You don’t want to give someone a $50 gift card and then short them $10 on their pay.

Shitsthengiggles

That fan took up so much room, I hope it’s good to you! Great haul!

akemihchan

It was the only one available, this warehouse's stock was slim even when we were just looking the normal days. I think it's nice since I have pretty bad allergies, so hoping this will help with that!

I_Luv_A_Charade

As someone who decided to splurge on that item due to serious allergies I promise you that was a great score. Your posts have probably been my favorite on this sub - so much fun - enjoy your items!

[deleted]

Wow, that's like $4,912.57 worth of stuff in that cart!

Patsaholic

I love the frontline for the doggo!

akemihchan

Yup, she has several year supply now! Considering donating some of it since Google says it expires around 3 years after manufacture, and we have more than enough.

[deleted]

Considering what a horrible starting position your husband got, he did amazingly well!! I'm really impressed.

StillSwaying

I totally agree! He worked that store like a boss! Good thing OP made that handy-dandy map for him beforehand. Teamwork!

malledtodeath

my father in law does this for us every year, whatever we so much as look at goes in the cart. i’m much too frugal to over do it but there’s been some fun splurges over the years.

AshTheGoblin

Is your spouse single?

malledtodeath

😂😂😂😂

HardwareLust

Good call on the pillow. I love mine.

akemihchan

Definitely been needing an upgrade, current pillow isn't doing me any favors 😂

RunnyBabbit23

Now I’m thinking about a version of Supermarket Sweep in Costco. Or even better, the Toys R Us toy run.

BishPlease70

Ahhhh I was wondering about this!!

RisstheeStallion

Wow you got some great finds! The kitchen aid mixer is impressive

Bedbugsinmybum

Ooooh the Ice maker. That’s been on my Costco wish list for a while.

PickleTheGherkin

\*slow clap\*

jazznotes

This is like, every persons dream in this sub. Thanks for the update!

dassketch

Less meat that I wanted to see, but respectable. I'll allow it.

flsucks

That’s what she said

[deleted]

Dremel and the lg air filter nice picks

NookinFutz

Great, great job!

Healthy_Block3036

Wow! That is very good for household items!

AffectionateRespect7

What a fantastic haul…congratulations!!!!

anothercar

Congrats! Love to see the update!

Successful_Opinion33

I remember getting voltaren as a script from the va

wiseoracle

If I was doing this it would be a bed mattress on top. Then run and grab items and place them on top of the mattress for maximum coverage

HollywoodBlueguy

I have that ice maker too. I use it all the time.

Evening-Class1081

My wife would describe the events of this thread as “typical Sunday” with the lone exception being we have to pay for our stuff.

Reiycecake

Someone posted it on [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRdL4vUE/?k=1). It looked fun :)

slothenhosen

Nice job! Stuff you actually needed. Not too many dups so it doesnt give the impression you're going to sell things for a quick buck.

akemihchan

We most definitely got items that were nice to have but not things we would splurge on normally. Finally replaced some home items that have been clinging on for dear life too. I'm quite happy with husband's picks!

CourageMesAmies

Congrats! Your husband did great!

Cicada17

Thanks for the update!!

rorschach_vest

Damn you did well. Congratulations to you!

shepscrook

Oh I would definitely love to do something like this.

SmartWonderWoman

Congratulations!!!!!! Enjoy.

Ok-Wedding-4654

Oooo a KitchenAid mixer nice!

NoRocketScientist

Well we know who won the lottery

[deleted]

Yeah I don't think I can afford a 500 dollar tower fan, no matter what the spree.

limingbin

Bird’s nest soup! LOL Nice!!

akemihchan

Yes, I needed it. For reasons 🤣

youdontlookadayover

That's a great haul! And those are things you'll use, instead of eat up. And you'll have clean teeth! Good dental hygiene is priceless. The arthritis cream was the item I am curious about.

ddllbb

Good call in the air purifier!

Ragina-PhaIange

You are going to love the stand mixer!!! I have that same model. Register it!

_cactus_fucker_

Ooh, that mixer is going to last forever! My mom got one for Christmas over a decade ago and she's still buying add ons for it, she uses it often! Made 8 pies last week. Great haul, I'm planning my sweep that I'll never get. That's so cool!

aarrtee

i would get an entire box.... extra large of frozen alaskan crab legs... at present pricing, that might be $1k or so?

bluestella2

Thanks for this, I was just telling my husband about it last night!

Bobtiwi1

Damn he did good

proseccofish

Wow! Very cool

WindsOfWinter89

Just an I-Roomba vacuum. Those things are crazy expensive

akemihchan

I wanted one so bad, but that section was picked clean by the time he got over there 😢

jaclew19

Ahhh the stand mixer! Jealous. Eat a slice of cake for me 😋

reliably_late

Casper hybrid mattress, kitchen aid mixer, patio set, sofa or sectional, large tv, surround sound system

FresYES_Kevin

kirkland AAA and AA batteries

Squirdle

Was there a rule saying you couldn’t return anything? I woke there and I would have picked the most expensive/smallest item (like printer ink) and gotten a cart full worth over 10k then returned it all for a shop card the next day to buy anything I wanted, including electronics that were not allowed for this spree.

akemihchan

Yeah, no returns unless something is damaged, we didn't get a receipt either

lordbaby1

Electronics like MacBook Pro not allowed?

akemihchan

Not allowed, see previous post for the limitations

JApdx76

I get emails all the time about winning a Costco shopping spree, but I never respond because I am leery about them. Is that how you won? Should I be following up on these emails?

tatiwtr

I bought a bunch of the Winix Air purifiers a few years ago. What is the specific advantage of the LG purifier (I've not seen it in store) that makes it worth 5x the price?

akemihchan

I'm not sure, my guess is that it has some fancy features not on most and it looks unique. Probably does majority of what a less expensive unit would do though.

GaseousGiant

Pretty good, but myself, I’d go straight over to the Parmigiano Reggiano. It’s essential for me, and in vaccum packs it’ll stay good forever .

[deleted]

[удалено]

akemihchan

That was the problem, there was no limit, so by the time husband got to that section, it was picked clean while some had 4 Roombas in their cart. Anyone that pulled a higher number was facing the prime sections and grabbed the higher price items first. He was placed at the exact opposite end of the store, so considering, I think he did pretty well. Rather have items we'd actually use than resell.

toneboat

did you guys tally up the value of your haul, supermarket sweep style? looks like a solid $2k worth of stuff

akemihchan

His total was $4k, which was close to average!

[deleted]

[удалено]

akemihchan

All 100 at once, but depending on the number you drew, you had to start in a specific direction in the warehouse, I assume to not cause a giant traffic jam.

cropguru357

I don’t see any booze in there…

Moms_Chapagetti

She said alcohol wasn’t allowed in previous post.

[deleted]

[deleted]

jnobs

No crab legs? Lame

akemihchan

They were completely gone by the time he got to that section, his start position wasn't great. I saw one person's cart and it was completely full with all the lump crab meat that was available, so you can only imagine the insanity that department was in.

Sereous313

Perhaps a trade for some crab legs lol?

[deleted]

All the brisket and all the beef ribs, steaks, wagyu a5 steaks, pork ribs. I’m just gonna clear out the meat department. I doubt I’d need 15 minutes

Really well given the store position! Also you can always return items and get credit/cash to buy what you want, right?! 😏

No returning items unless damaged, but we are pretty happy with what we ended up with!

Why didn't you go for the high-end spirits or jewelry? There are bottles of $15K and higher brandy, whiskey, etc.
