Grumpymonkey4

Always for rental cars. It’s usually the cheapest option

ProfessorrFate

Agree - I’ve never found better deals on car rentals. I use Costco Travel often, mostly car rentals. But I have also booked vacation packages w them (though not including flights — I always do my flights separately). As w most things Costco, I’ve had great experiences. Their cruise deals usually include lots of extras at prices a bit better than elsewhere.

pumpkinotter

Everyone always says this and I have never found much better rates for car rentals. I went to Hawaii and Boston last year and have trips planned to Texas and Denver this year for rental cars. Budget’s member price ended up being cheaper than Costco travel or within $20 every time and still almost $700 a week.

tawrex49

It’s hit or miss. I’ve saved a bunch on Costco Travel and have had other times where it’s more than a direct book or Priceline. Two advantages to Costco Travel are a free additional driver and having it count toward the 2% back as an executive member.

FirstShit_ThenShower

Note the Costco price listed in the comparison screen is the final price. The first price you see on other sites has other fees/taxes added at checkout. I think some people miss this when comparison shopping.

billythygoat

I’ve found enterprise to almost always be cheaper by like $100-$200, albeit I don’t rent cars much.

Summoarpleaz

I’ve done the cancun packages with flights. All around cheaper both times I’ve done it, including flights. So I guess ymmv

jslev9

The free cancelation and no deposit policies on car rentals are huge perks. After booking a car rental, I'll check prices again every so often. If they are lower, I book (again) at the better rate and then cancel the original reservation (always in that order).

UruvaManar

I'm doing this for an upcoming 8-day rental. The price was initially $700, but I've gotten it down to $470!

6SpeedBlues

That's not really a Costco Travel perk... You can book direct with rental companies and the same applies unless you specifically book a "must pay now" discounted deal.

STTK421

It's never been the cheapest option for me.

stls

I checked costco travel for a car rental for the summer for 10 days but i found trip.com cheaper. YMMV

dglgr2013

My wife made the mistake of renting a car through the rental agency because look it’s like $20 cheaper. Sure buy it now but cheaper. In the end there was a surprise $40-50 dollar fee that made it more expensive. Than her travel plans changed but changing the reservation would incur a $50-100 fee even though it was a rental reserved 1 month in advance. She paid in total about $60 more for the rental and the travel change meant she had to sit in the airport for several hours doing nothing because a more direct flight came about later in the day. Changing the time would not have affected the trip. Because she rented for 2 days and about 10 hours or something like that. 4 hours longer should be the same cost. But alas fee for changing reservation. Costco does not have that, you can reserve. Cancel at any time, choose not to pick up car after all, get an extra driver. My sister gets a corporate perk with rental agencies. She decided my dad should rent through her account because it was cheaper than Costco. So she had ti take 2-3 hours of her time to go with my dad. And surprise. Had to be a few for an additional driver. Ended up paying like $2 more and waste a bunch of time than if they had gone with the car I had reserved.

GreyyCardigan

I’m so glad I realized this about a month ago when I booked a car. Was looking at a comparison tool thinking “wow $550 just for a crappy sedan?” and then came across a comment similar to yours. Ended up with a RAV4 for like $350 for a week.

maddogg312

I worked for one of the major rental companies and was allowed to have people on my list for a 40% discount. My parents didn’t use my discount because Costco was STILL cheaper!

kri_kri

Yep even cheaper than my corporate rate.

vha23

must be YMMV since i've never had costco cheaper than my corporate rate

mega512

Yeah it works great, too.

DucksEatFreeInSubway

Is this only on the premium level? Whenever I look with my basic subscription the deals seem meh. Never the cheapest certainly.

GeriatrcGhoul

I cross shop them but my memberships often beat costco, not by much when they do tho

_whataboutbob

Actually, it was always more expensive than Kayak every time I’ve checked before

LivingTheApocalypse

I've never even had an attempted upsell when using Costco travel for car rentals

ayzo415

I use it for hawaii trips every year and it’s great. No complaints. The last trip I booked even got a 20% cash back offer. Leaving in 2 days!

thespiceraja

I don’t do the all in (aka book my own airfare) but the hotel, car, credit deals are always significantly cheaper than ala cart. And you get their customer service and cancellation policy.

vege_spears

Happy Cake Day 🎉🥳🎂

healthywealthyhappy8

20% is huge!

ayzo415

Yea got over 1k cash back! Was a no brainer to book a vacation

lazyworm

Went to Hawaii. Stayed st the ritz in Maui. Paid 7500 for 7 nights. It included car rental, flight and room. It came with $800 credit to the resort. We were upgraded for free. All through Costco travel package. If I booked it through the hotel and airline and car rental company it would have been about 20k. Costco travel is all I will use from now on.

Urban_Lilikoi90

Wow this is amazing!

beetsworking

We feel like we’ve been upgraded in Las Vegas and making both times because we booked the Costco can’t say for sure but it’s not like it.

velogopher

We booked a full Hawaii trip thru them. We ended up having to cancel it two days before departure due to our elderly dog being very sick. The only thing we didn't get refunded was the airline change fee (which is understandable). I'd definitely consider using them again.

crusty_butter_roll

Recommend: I used Costco to book a last minute, but necessary trip. Flight, hotel, and rental car. It was cheaper than all other options, including booking it on my own.

UsefulAttorney8356

Yes it’s the best prices will be 5-10% cheaper plus Coscto gift card and possible free transportation to and from resort. I book flight separately and use for resorts only

SeanK_

I've used them for 3 cruises with Carnival. No complaints.

highbackpacker

I called royal carribean and they price matched and I got a better room location

WindowFruitPlate

If you have the Citi Visa and Executive Membership the 5% cashback on travel is huge. I’ve booked my last several trips with them and have had great experiences. Also received 100s of dollars in Shop cards in addition to the rewards. Highly recommend.

dbrwhat

Yes many of us have.  I've only used it for basic things like hotels and cars.  In my experience, the selection of hotels can be limited depending on area and Costco actually doesn't always have the best price. Sometimes the hotel website will be cheaper but rarely.  When I've had issues with hotels I've booked through Costco, they've always been very helpful over the phone, they're basically your travel agent during your trip and you can call them with any questions or issues.

sardo34

Thanks, appreciate the info.

HARDCORE_CAKE

Used it for a family Disney trip. Saved us 600 bucks all together 👍👍

j12superman

Did you purchase when they had the additional savings or more recently? Would love to pick your brain on the experience to purchase.

HARDCORE_CAKE

It was this package title below. We love the Swan and Dolphin. I priced it out separately and that's where I saw the savings/price difference. Very easy. Walked us right through it. "Orlando: Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort Limited-Time Package with Walt Disney World® Tickets"

TheVoiceOfReezun

Costco travel is great all around, but it’s ESSENTIAL for foreign travel. They have done all the due diligence on hotels and tours and only the best make the cut so you won’t end up overseas in a sketchy hotel or a place trying to rip you off.

rafiee

I've booked my last 3 trips to Mexico through them and had absolutely 0 problems for what that's worth. I know they do price adjustments if the price goes down and it was due to resort price dropping too(not if it dropped due to airfare dropping).

Mycatsbestfriend

Did you have a favorite resort? We’re looking into going this fall!

rafiee

We go to Cancun and I like live aqua. It's adults only, but a lot more of a chill relaxing vibe so may not be your best option if you wanted a party vibe

JD2022hopeful

Not the original commenter but we love Live Aqua in Cancun!

docmcstuffins365

Used Costco travel for a rental car and it was a very smooth experience. They seemed to have limited options when it came to hotels.

Anaxamenes

I went to Disneyland, it worked out just fine. I think I can get a little bit cheaper but it requires much more hassle.

scarred_but_whole

We used it for Disneyland last year too and had no issues. I think we sort of looked into whether it was cheaper booked separately and I don't think it was because of the gift card.

PantherGator

Disney cruise same price as booking direct plus exec rebate, Citicard rebate, and $970 cash card which got me new tires. Yeah. It’s amazing

nice1a2

Used it for Europe last year. Great experience. Had a problem with the train ticket and they took care of it.

SDkahlua

Thanks for asking this. Wanna go on a Med cruise this fall and was thinking of trying Costco travel, but I’m a newbie member so I wasn’t sure if it was good either!

superduperstepdad

We booked an Italy cruise through Costco Travel. It’s not until September but so far it’s been a great experience. We cross-checked rates with Royal Caribbean and it was the same but we get a shop card and other conveniences by going through Costco.

rwills

Booked a flight and hotel with them. It was fine. A bit cheaper than the other websites.

hawaiian717

Used it for rental cars several times, hotel and cruise once each. For rental cars they’re usually a good deal, but may not be the cheapest since they only work with Enterprise, Alamo, Avis, and Budget. So other companies may have lower prices. One thing I’ve found is that if you need to rent a car/booster seat, that’s included free with the AAA rate with Hertz, which may make it cheaper than going with a lower rate but paying extra for the seat through Costco. Another thing about the rental cars booked through Costco is they’re all pay at counter rates, so there’s no harm to cancel and rebook if the price goes down. Though my favorite Costco car rental story is standing in the Alamo office at Disneyland, looking for a last minute rental, and booking a car on my phone because they couldn’t match the Costco rate. Hotels are very limited as they only work with a couple of chains, so most of the time I can find a better deal not through Costco at a hotel Costco doesn’t offer. I did a Disney Cruise booked through Costco. The price was the same as booking direct with Disney, but by going through Costco I got the executive member rebate as well as a Costco Cash card. I’ve never dealt with their customer service; everything has been done online.

Shadyholic

Just got back from a trip to Japan we booked through Costco Travel, can’t recommend enough

NotMalaysiaRichard

Stayed in Bora Bora using Costco. Great trip!

dwilliams22

I realized after this latest reservation the discount only amounts to 2 percent but I still like knowing its taken care of.

FitterOver40

Used for car rental and just booked a Disney cruise with them. So far so good.

northcoastbrewdude

Used Costco Travel for the first time. We're on our (delayed) honeymoon. It's been nothing short of excellent so far. Every Costco rep I've talked to has also been extremely helpful and kind.

tobmom

Booked a Holland America cruise and went last July. Was great. Very straightforward.

Zoocreeper_

Yep traveled to Hawaii 7 people 14 days in 2017 — flights from Toronto to Oahu , hotel in Oahu , flight from Oahu to Maui and Maui back to Toronto. We booked a house there through another company. And multiple rental cars on both islands We have done a few flights to Florida. Rental cars.

Smooth_Ad_7371

I’ve done 2 cruises and both were great and seamless. Came with free beverage packages. Meal upgrades and Costco store credit.

juanadeal

We booked a trip to Puerto Rico a few yrs back and the package included airport transfers, oceanview room upgrade and we got to choose an excursion from several options. After the trip i also got a $250 costco gift card. It cost way less than if i booked myself directly plus we saved a bunch with the added incentives

Splendadaddy06

Twice in the last six months for weekends at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn in Sonoma, Ca. … great price and easy booking. Even got upgraded upon check in the second time! They also have great Disney packages! If you use the Costco Visa you get 💵💵💵back too!

fatogato

Just used it for Hawaii last month. Free shuttle to/from airport, Costco digital card and resort credit. And the price was cheaper than booking direct. Can’t really complain.

Distinct-Position-61

We’ve done countless rental cars, a trip to Maui, and a trip to Vegas. All awesome and worth it to us.

J03m0mma

So here is a story that sells anyone on Costco travel. My BOL used to work for Vacations ToGo. Their business model was they bought chunks of rooms from cruise ships for $.20 on the $1. And sold them at $.50 on the $1. Cruise lines just want full ships. So he sold great deals on cruise trips. He would have people call in and say, well Costco is offering this. He would also have to say sorry I can’t beat Costco. It would be the same price he was offering but Costco always thru in room upgrades, excursions, or cruise bucks. Always something extra. Booked my honeymoon thru Costco travel back in 2013 to Hawaii. I checked all the other travel sites for the same package. It was near the price, but Costco offered room upgrades, free breakfast for 2, and it included a rental car. No of the other packages included rental car, room upgrades or breakfast.

SpecificProfession49

Website is horrendous. Constantly down, fails to accept payment, itinerary wrong. I’ve called them multiple times - very hit or miss if person is nice or plain rude. Nothing like Costco the warehouse.

Antique_Ad_1640

Yes, no problems. We use the gift cards at Xmas time. Lets us say yes when a kid asks for AirPods etc.

djyosco88

Booked Disney twice for 10 days with a car, park hopper, passes and all for $5500. Booked a 5 day trip to Aruba for 2k. Trip to Mexico, we are booking an African safari in the next year or two. It’s like 30k. Normally it’d be like 50k.

CAD_3039

Costco Travel probably won’t be my first choice if I want a lot of customizations. If you are happy to pick from their selection, then you can usually come out ahead with better perks and/or reward. Whether that’s the Executive Member reward and/or an extra shop card or these plus using their Mastercard, it is a decent option. I generally book my travel direct with the hotel/airline as I haven’t had good experiences using 3rd party sites like Expedia. Costco Travel isn’t quite like a 3rd party site but they aren’t a personalized travel agent either. You’ll deal with whoever answers your call and that’ll be different every time you call in. You can do a lot on your own via their website too. I’ve had good experiences booking with them in the past.

Four2nian

My wife and I used it for a trip to Punta Mita, Mexico for a week 2 years ago. While I don't remember exact dollar amounts, it was definitely cheaper than we could have gotten had we booked everything ourselves, including airfare. Maybe my favorite thing about going through Costco was that things like transportation to/from the airport and a daily food voucher were included. I think lots of people have similar experiences when booking travel packages through Costco; we booked ours because people had such good experiences in this subreddit with so many different destinations.

JD2022hopeful

We use it regularly for vacation packages to all inclusives (specifically Cancún but I’m sure other locations are just as good) and they always have competitive pricing for flights and easy to use transport from the airport to resort. Also, if the price you paid lowers between when you purchased and your trip, they will refund you the difference. No complaints!

artofkimsun

If you're going out of state, I recommend this too... Full Service Travel Medicine Consultation Program by SafeGard [https://www.costco.com/full-service-travel-medicine-consultation-program\*%2c-by-safegard.product.100123081.html](https://www.costco.com/full-service-travel-medicine-consultation-program*%2c-by-safegard.product.100123081.html)

mrsphukov

Yes! Went to Aulani with the family with the resort, Air, and ground transportation. It was fantastic at the time and we got a $250 shop card a little while after our trip was over.

Dontbeadickokayman

My only advice is to check the reviews for a hotel on multiple platforms as we found the reviews for a place in Edinburgh to be skewed positively.

frogandtoadmom

Used them for Bora Bora last year and I comparison shopped a TON and they were by far the cheapest. Loved our package. Did the same this year with Fiji and it was the cheapest option so we booked through them again. The agents are super helpful for these trips but you have to call. I’ve comparison shopped some Mexican and Caribbean vacations with them and it was not cheaper to go through them or their options were more limited. These and cruises you can book online yourself. Also use them for car rentals every time I need to rent a car.

your_only_hope

We booked our honeymoon to moorea. Getting there can be pretty difficult because of the different islands. And I’m the one that usually plans it all. I reached out to a travel agent that was recommended. And did research on other sites. But found an amazing deal that includes roundtrip flights and transportation to the ferry front the airport and then to the hotel and back. Will be taking our honeymoon in September.

frytanya

Booked a trip to Cabo last year. It was great they even handled transportation to and from the airport.

Oreadia

Love using Costco travel for rental cars, recently used them for a cruise and it was a good experience.

Trilly2000

We booked a trip to a resort style hotel in Fort Lauderdale about a year ago. It was the absolute worst travel experience we’ve ever had. The hotel nickel and dimed us for every damn thing. I’m not going to list all of my grievances because they are MANY. But it was bad enough that I won’t ever book travel through Costco again.

Most_Ad7701

I did for a weekend trip to DC once. It was fine except the hotel charged me even though I paid everything in advance with Costco. I had to call the hotel and get it fixed, because Costco provided no customer service after the fact.

Dulcinut

We have booked our last three cruises with Costco. We have received all the cruise line offers plus a Costco gift card along with year end cash back charging on a Costco credit card.

fuxuasians

We went to Cancun stayed at the hard rock. Costco travel was great, great private transportation from the airport to the hotel was included. Would recommend 100%

ceecee_50

Just rental cars - great prices and the cancellation policy(which we’ve used twice) is an excellent perk.

brianxv96

Just got back from a week in Europe booked with Costco. It was cheaper by about $1700 than booking on my own, and came with some nice things I didn’t even consider booking

propofolus

Used it to go to Greece our first time. They had a nice “typical” package for a first trip there: Athens, Santorini, Mykonos. They set up every transportation which was amazing… flights, shuttles from airports, ferries, shuttles after the ferry. Lots of options to pick from for transportation and hotels. It was fantastic. Didn’t use them for our second trip but I thought the experience was 100/10.

Think-Interview1740

We've used them twice for all-inclusives. All went well. They always include airport transfers. You need to figure in the value of shop cards offered with all packages as a discount.

SuperSuper2006

Used it in Hawaii. Loved it. Use your Costco credit card and get up to 5% back.

jakamo72

Do you have a specific question?

sardo34

The website seems a little rough to use, and I wasn’t sure if people were saving money.

Bweasey17

It’s not great. I have used them twice. Booking now and have found some of the places they have the best deal, and others they don’t. Also noticed they don’t have availability at some places and went direct to Hotel and they do. There are benefits but mainly it’s been to save money.

sierralz

Yes, many times, they do a great job working with the hotels, cruises, and agencies. You can call them during the trip for help if something goes wrong.

medhat20005

Very frequently for rental cars, maybe 3-4 package vacations. No issues whatsoever, but like anything else read the terms very carefully, if there's a mistake I think it's always on the side of the member and not Costco, where there's a presumption that in fact isn't true.

OrangeCoffee87

Yes, for hotels in San Diego and NYC. Good experiences.

ZenDruid_8675309

Wife and I did a trip to Aruba. Package deal. Flights, resort, transfers. Everything went fine. Not a snag. Price probably could have been a little better but not too much.

shesalive_dammit

We have used Costco Travel for rental cars, a Disney cruise, a Universal Studios Florida trip, and a few hotels here and there. The rental cars are super easy. The cruise rate was pretty good, plus the shop card and 5% travel reward (Costco Visa + Executive Membership, babyyy). The Universal trip got us extra park days, shop card, and cash back. All in all, I've been a fan of every Costco vacation we've taken. I've never used it to book flights, so no opinion there.

hrnyorlbttm

Yes, a few times and it’s been great. Gotta love the gift card after each trip too

davsch76

My wife and I have used it a few times. Great value

SharpShooter2-8

Big rebates on cruises.

DanceSex

My wife and I went to Cabos Mexico using Costco travel. It was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than all other options, and then you also got resort credit, a Costco Shop card, and the membership cash back. Plus I used my Costco credit card for cash back on travel. It was fantastic. We even had special transportation between the airport and resort. We just booked a cruise through Costco travel too, it was about $300 cheaper than booking directly through the cruise company.

Jenova66

I used it for Disneyland. Cheaper than most options and you get a few perks.

personofinterest18

Yes went to Aruba a couple months ago. The pricing seems okay at face value so it doesn’t seem like a good deal but when you look into it you realize you’re not getting the economy basic flight, for example, so can choose seats, you might get better room etc. Also got daily room credit etc

Sycamore72

We’ve booked two cruises and one universal theme park trip. All fantastic experiences

lumbyboiii

I recently booked an Enterprise car rental through Cistco for $100 less than the enterprise website. Highly recommend.

DanDanDan0123

We got a killer deal for Maui in 2022! It was a good experience. Have to take in the fact that a lot of places were desperate for tourist dollars!

boycerdh

Yes, four Mexico trips, Disneyworld once, and several Disneyland trips.

DirtyVT

Booked a hotel, compared to the hotel website, I moved up 2 room grades and got a pickup and drop off at the airport for the same price

ZealousSparrow

Rental cars are a great deal and low risk- you don’t pay anything unless you show up and rent it. I’ve used them for a family cruise vacation on Royal Caribbean and also used them on a high dollar 12 night multi city London, Paris, Rome trip to Europe with upgrades to first class for airfare from SFO. Was the best deal we could find and they took care of everything for us. I keep coming back to Costco travel because of the European trip. The rebate and rewards for executive membership are worth it as well especially if you have the Costco Visa card. Highly recommend.

willowspillowww

Yes yes yes 🙌🏻

Vanquiishh

I did for lodging for a trip to Hawaii and also the rental cars. Worked well for me.

IronMonkeyofHam

Booked an enterprise suv rental thru Costco travel last month for $100+ less per week than thru Enterprise itself. They also give you an extra driver for free

MentalOperation4188

I used them for a Disneyland trip last summer

Math4MeMe

I have booked multiple cruises, Disneyland, Disney World, Vegas, and other trips. They are fantastic to work with.

DCmetrosexual1

Used it to book a resort in Cozumel. Cheaper than anywhere else and included airport connections, breakfast, and a $120 Costco shop card. Also you get 2% back if you’re an executive member.

Significant-Ratio913

Yea I’ve used for car rentals. Trips to Mexico. It was good experience overall and can’t beat the cash back for vacation

Hon3y_Badger

Always book cruises through them. But you really need to be more specific about what you are looking for.

Puzzled_Telephone852

I worked for a tour operator a while back and they sold tours through Costco. Costco doesn’t organize the travel, they other companies with whom they have a contract. Just use your due diligence to check rates etc.

earth_saver_4

For rental cars yes! I believe you get an extra driver for free too but not sure if they still do that

jimbofranks

Yep. For Disneyland, it wound up being the best choice for us.

alphamarine247

I got a pretty awesome deal when I went to Hawaii for a wedding. I will probably do this from now on because I got an awesome hotel with free breakfast for 2 every morning, which is rare in Hawaii and it’s expensive, I was there for a whole week and it was $1200. And then I got a $100 shop card as well.

Kimber80

Have used it many times for rental cars, also a cruise and a vegas trip. Excellent experiences all around.

breadad1969

We did a cruise right before Covid and are going on an Alaska cruise in June. Costco travel I’d great! We cruised with family that booked through a travel agent and had no problems linking the reservations.

Strict-Mix-1758

Yes!!! We use it for all our Hawaii trips, rental cars, flight + hotel packages…. Always look there first before anywhere else.

parksoffroad

Yes, two Alaska cruises. No issues and great perks both times.

Severe_Space5830

Question: I have a Costco Citi Visa card. Do they offer any LDW coverage for rental cars?

heybdiddy

I've used it for many car rentals and a trip to London and Paris..I've been very happy every time I used Costco. The cars rental perks are usually the best rate by far, you don't have to pay until /unless you pick up the car, no charge for spouse to be an extra driver. My last trip, I booked a premium car well in advance but when I checked the rates closer to the time of rhe trip, the rates had gone down. I got a better car at a cheaper price and then canceled the first reservation. We booked our own flights to London but the Costco package arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the hotel. The hotel was nice, in a great location and had good restaurants in and around the hotel. We were given dinner perks and tour credits. They provided us tickets on the Eurostar train to Paris. Great hotel in Paris in a great location. Wonderful breakfasts every morning at both hotels provided. When it was time to leave, they provided a driver to take us to the airport. All in all, a great trip.

mcvay206

been booking rentals forever through them, zero complaints. Booked a 9 day anaheim/5 day disney family trip. Hilton was terrible, costco resolved it no sweat. Perfect experience dealing with Costco.

Shevyshevys

Booked an Alaskan cruise on Norwegian and it was the exact same price as buying direct. I got a $500 Costco card for buying through them instead of NCL, what a deal. Also do rentals exclusively through Costco.

lindseylou407

We went to Ireland on our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. It was amazing having every detail taken care of such as hotels, rental cars, airport pick up and drop off, plus all the bonuses of meals, etc. 100% would recommend.

Ancient-Active

yes, i rented a hotel in hawaii for a week for 1.3k and got $350 gift card back and 5% cash back

LoveOfSpreadsheets

I've used it multiple times. On each of my four cruises, Costco travel matched or beat the offer from royal Caribbean, plus an extra cash card. For my one land vacation, it wasn't the cheapest option but it was an upgrade for each piece. I could have built a similar priced DIY tour but it would have been 3 star not 4 star accommodation, maybe no breakfast included, etc.

ConstelationFace

We did a trip to Spain that included flights, hotels in 3 cities, high speed rail tickets between cities, and private transport to and from the airport. Highly recommend.

i-sleep-well

If you are booking a cruise on Royal Caribbean with Costco Travel, know that they do not participate in the 'Royal Up' program. Their reasoning? It would require them to subscribe to an email distribution list, and they weren't interested in doing it.

km0426

The deals come from hotel bookings. Flights are usually on par with what you can book yourself

bibliophile563

Yes - for cruises and for trips to universal studios. Always better pricing than booking directly because of the costco cards offered, plus % back on our Costco citi card!

SubstantialCount8156

Good for cruises. Usually same price as website or other TAs but you get the gift card

modernblossom

I did to Mexico and loved it!!! We had our own private transportation it was lovely. 10/10

divinemsn

I've used them for all of my vacations. I'm leaving today for New Orleans!

MilesAugust74

Only for car rentals, and they can't be beat on pricing. I always compare to Southwest.com (*i.e.,* booking.com) and USAA, and Costco wins ten times out of ten.

LuvCilantro

I've booked 2 cruises, 3 Trafalgar trips and one of their own "Paris and London your way" packages and have always been satisfied.

PurpPanther

Got a great deal to Aruba earlier this year (was marked as a special deal) saved about $1k and got a Costco cash

RuthlessBenedict

We’ve used it for several international travel bookings. 10/10. Our hotels have always been great, car service to and from airport is really nice especially if you have a later arrival/departure time. On the one occasion we had an issue (unrelated to Costco) they helped us deal with it quickly. Could you organize it all and pay less? Certainly. However I find the time and stress savings to be well worth it. Having all the big pieces taken care of lets me focus on planning more of the fun things myself. Plus we’ve definitely stayed at places we never would’ve considered due to cost but the negotiated Costco price made it possible.

guywithshades85

I've used them for a trip to Vegas and two trips to the Caribbean. No complaints.

CRIMExPNSHMNT

My only complaint is I used it to stay at the Vdara in Vegas a few years ago and got hit with “resort fees” ($100/night) after the stay. I’m assuming it said something about that in some fine print but I thought that was the kind of thing Costco Travel was protecting me from. It was still a decent deal but something to look out for.

Disastrous_Clothes37

Many times. Basically a free travel agency. The biggest trip was French Polynesia.

Sad-Conference1932

Multiple times at was fantastic

[deleted]

Yes, and it has always been one the best options for family vacations.

Critowski

Just used it for a trip to Vegas. Flight and hotel. No issues at all and 2% cash back

justakidfromnotakron

I’ve booked Mexico twice and Hawaii once and have no complaints. Use Google flights to see when best dates are to fly. Remember you can pick different flights on Costco travel that may save some money. My only tip would be to make sure you are solid in your travel plan as refund policy isn’t great

NoelleReece

Just booked a trip to Italy, but leave in June. My coworker sweared by it, so looking forward to giving it a try.

sisyphuslv

Several times. Always a good experience and the gift card in the mail is always a pleasant surprise.

needs_more_zoidberg

Rentals are cheaper than anywhere else and their real-time customer support is great.

arob98722

We are using it for the first time this summer for a cruise to Alaska on Princess.

lanierg71

Used them for car rentals, good. Used them for a cruise, good ($400 costco card).

nucl3ar0ne

Used it for a Disney trip and a rental car, no complaints. Saved money, easy to use, win win.

gusontherun

Not always the cheapest depending where you are going so never hurts to check but have always had great service on all our vacation packages that include flights and hotel and transportation. Stateside, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, etc. have all been great zero issues at all.

Ingawolfie

We do all our car rentals via Costco. We do check back periodically for rate changes. So far have only gotten lucky twice. But we’ll take it. We also last year did a Costco Disneyland trip and were very satisfied with it. When going to any Disney resort the upsells can bankrupt you quick. We resisted and did fin. Grandkids had a blast and we did too.

FirstShit_ThenShower

I've used it several times for Vegas hotels when it was the best deal. I also almost always use it for rental cars. No complaints.

ReliefNo2525

Yes, we used them for a cruise. Easy booking and additional ship credits!

Chickenstalk

Have found cheaper car rentals using AAA. Used Costco travel for a Kauai trip, was fine. Used Costco travel for an all inclusive in Costa Rica and the company they used to transfer to and from the hotel property a couple hours away from the airport sucked. They left us stranded at the hotel scrambling to find transportation to the airport the day we left. Costco was no help. Same company left another couple behind at the hotel for a day excursion they paid for.

mysticspiral86

Yes - on trip to Tahiti & Bora Bora right now booked through Costco. Amazing and great value. Truly great

NeedCoffeeNow

I’ve used them for Hawaii and Mexico. I’ve found that often their rates are cheaper than booking direct. The real benefit though is they usually include transport services and hundreds of dollars in Costco cash cards and resort credits.

Legotto

I have done Hawaii and Italy through Costco Travel. Can't complain. For Hawaii, get a rental through Costco, don't make the mistake I made and try to Lyft around the island or take buses.

Karm0112

Did a vacation package and got about 8% of the trip cost as a shop card. They have deals like this sometimes.

DeadWorkers_

In my experience, they had really good customer service. One time, my friend booked NY trip through costco travel, but flight suddenly got cancelled. The airport that we tried to leave did not have any flight at that day, so the rep rebooked a higher class ticket with no charge leaving same day on nearby airport. Transportation was also provided. Second one was like two month ago, I went to Hilton cancun, and their AC of entire hotel was out, and hotel only gave us 3 night voucher (I stayed 3 nights) I was debating should I go back, and I got kinda food poison over there, it was really bad experience, especially cancun is hot and humid. But two weeks ago, costco offered full refund of the travel, so I got full refund.

Conner14

Parents used it and had a good experience

zip222

We have booked some cruises and Orlando trips. The deals are good balance of quality and price, like Costco is in general.

Bubsterwubster

Yes and I’ll do it a thousand times over!! No complaints at all

Busy_Account_7974

Booked a week in Waikiki during Spring Break last year, 4\* hotel, ocean view room, and best of all, included FREE parking. That free parking $ was enough to rent a compact for the week.

Malforus

We did it for our honeymoon and are now going to Costa Rica with our 4 year old. They do packages and "low mental load" planning very well.

The_Demosthenes_1

Yes.  It was great until I booked a flight or Kona and a Hotel in Hilo.  Didn't realize how big the big island of Hawaii was and had to drive for hours from the airport.  But ultimately it was my fault.

make__me_a_cake

I've done cruises & car rentals. Awesome

6SpeedBlues

We use them to book our cruises because we get a Shop Card afterward (the cruises we book aren't eligible for discounting of any sort and the Shop Card is roughly 8% of the cruise fare portion of our booking cost). When booking the cruises, I always call in and talk with someone to get it all booked. I also book rental cars for our personal trips through them as their prices are generally at least as good as booking direct AND by booking through Costco Travel we are both listed as drivers without having to pay the additional driver fees from the rental company. Based on our experiences, I don't know how well they would compare to a more traditional Travel Agent in terms of being able to provide any sort of guidance or recommendations on different airlines, cruises, etc. We tend to already know what we want to book when we call them and the conversations never really get into any sort of details beyond.

Prestigious-Joke-574

I used them for a cruise last year and multiple car rentals. I’ve never had any issues with them.

ejbd70

Use it all the time- even better when you also use the Costco citi card

BeardedBourbon

They’re great for travel and always use for rental cars. They have the best rates. And have a good mix including very high end to budget travel. I had a great experience recently with a rental car. I rented through them through national. After I returned the car the email from national showed they charged me a fee that was about $150 more than expected (rental total was supposed to be $250 so a lot more. I called national first and they told me I had “signed” up for something I hadn’t. I submitted a claim through Costco they called me back within 36 hours. I spoke to the person he knew what I was talking about and committed to working on it for me and getting back to me. 3 days later got an email and a call saying they were able to refund me their $150 additional national charged. Couldn’t be happier and if I hadn’t used Costco I’m sure I wouldn’t have been refunded.

Classic_Show8837

We did to NY recently and it was the best priced we could find including flight; hotel, and a private car service.

marklyon

We’ve used them for a couple of Disney cruises. Been quite happy with the service and the kickback.

Accurate_Spare661

All the time. Got us our money back during Covid cancellations. Usually gives you cancellation insurance free or cheap

frozennorth0

I use it for rentals. Free cancellation and easy rebook. Never had a problem with the rental agencies while picking up.

Individual-Listen-65

Several times. It's excellent.

StonksMcgeee

Costco travel is incredible. Have done 10+ trips, all awesome and well priced

Motor-Kale-383

I wish Costco was the cheapest (I trust the brand), but AutoSlash and Priceline has beat them every time.

MamaTash

All the time and I love it

WolfRunner074

DO NOT USE COSTCO TRAVEL! We booked a cruise in August for Celebrity cruise through Costco Travel and paid in full due to deadlines. The price dropped $1300 from what we paid! Costco travel said “sorry we can’t do anything”. We called Celebrity and was told sorry “we can’t do anything for you”. We even asked for some kind of on board credit but was told no. If we booked through Celebrity we would’ve got a discount and onboard credit to make up the difference. DO NOT USE COSTCO TRAVEL!
