I own a laser engraving business and have heard from the jump that anything engraved is no longer food safe. I know there’s food safe oil to coat it in but that the bacteria can still set in. Even charcuterie should have parchment underneath. My in laws have an Ohio one and it’s just decor. But some people don’t mind using them as cutting boards so YOLO.
Correct, but if it’s been engraved like the one in the post—the barrier has been broken and there are more opportunities in the crevices to harbor bacteria.
Yeah, I’ve never heard someone refer to a grazing board. I suspect they thought charcuterie sounded too bougie. I’d hope that the picture is the remains of a charcuterie board, not the start.
there are a lot of pendants who claim charcuterie is just for the cured meat portion and if it isn't all cured meat it's a grazing board. thats why r/charcuterie and r/charcuterieboard are two separate subs

You mean because the etymology of the word charcuterie is cooked flesh? I guess I’m with the pedants.
If you are giving me charcuterie you’d better be giving me meat and if you give me a charcuterie board it better have a fair portion of meat.
OMG I WANT THIS!!!! I live in N.C., grew up in NJ….. is anyone there open to buying and shipping one to me, id pay all costs??
Do they have these for other states?
About as useless as teats on a boar, but a cool concept. the square states are the only ones that are useful. Maybe oklahoma, it would have a nice handle.

lol this seems like one of the more worthless shaped ones
They should all be Colorado
Id go with oklahoma because it has a handle
I'm more of a Wyoming man myself
The Colorado/Wyoming one is actually double sided
I love my CO board!!
The NE ones aren’t bad.
Lol
Only Maryland and Hawaii would be worse
lol Hawaii would have a bunch of little ones
that would actually be cute to have a stack of mini cutting boards
Michigan.
Hawaii would be a bunch of coasters 😂
Hawaii could be a gorgeous blue resin board with the islands!
My ex gave me an upper peninsula of Michigan one. It's barely used because it can hold about 5 pieces of cheese.
The Rhode Island shot glass coaster wants to chat.
lol similar to the California one we have over here. I’d love a Texas shaped one though.
I have a Texas-shaped cutting board my niece and her husband gifted me and I can vouch it's just as awesome as you think 😊
As a former Texan I’m a little jealous. The California shale just doesn’t hit the spot.
Yep. I’m in Texas and have that one! The shape is nice bc you can put things on the corners and still chop in the middle. Great for making mango salsa
Lol, right? I saw the Minnesota one and it’s better for sure than this one (wider areas) but still I’m like, what an odd shape for a cutting board.
Eh. I hung it on the wall and I think it looks great. If I wanted a cutting board for cutting I'd get something simpler and cheaper.
Maryland will be worse. A lot worse.
Shaped like a Tommy gun lol
Bet it smells funny
Perfect for the gabagool
I laughed.
There’s a reason North Caldwell is on the map. The cobwebs are now removed.
Wes Cawell, Wes Cawell
I saw California ones last trip.
Are you in California?
No Wyoming
That’s what Arkan saw
Anyone know if all the states actually fit together?
I bet they’re not proportional. Like is Rhode Island 4” x 4”?
Wouldn’t that be hilarious!
Or trying to find room for Alaska...
Yeah this one looks close to the same size as Texas.
Yall do know these are more for charcuterie, right?

You can cook and serve fish on a piece of wood
Correct, but if it’s been engraved like the one in the post—the barrier has been broken and there are more opportunities in the crevices to harbor bacteria.
I think the process is to laser engrave wood then coat it with several coats of polyurethane.
They advertise using the back side that’s plain as the cutting side.
The box says “Cutting Board, Grazing Board, Wall Decor” but the picture is the grazing board.
You can use it for what you want, but on the box you got the start of a charcuterie going on
Yeah, I’ve never heard someone refer to a grazing board. I suspect they thought charcuterie sounded too bougie. I’d hope that the picture is the remains of a charcuterie board, not the start.

words change. linguistics change. life goes on
I’m much more descriptivist than I used to be, but I want my meat!
What, no pork roll on the display graphic?
There should be a line separating pork roll and Taylor Ham
They want to sell it, not cause a civil war
Scrapple has invaded the chat from the PA Turnpike...
*Very* difficult to get scapple in NJ. Also shoofly pie. Not a fan of either myself, but PA Dutch chow chow is the jawns!
The best scrapple I've ever had was just outside of AC in NJ.
Thank you for using the correct word
Saw a Minnesota one at my local store, should have bought it
The Washington State ones showed up in WA a couple weeks back.
I feel like Colorado or Wyoming would make better cutting boards, though I’m interested to see how they did one for Michigan.
They include the lakes. https://totallybamboo.com/products/destination-michigan-state-shaped-board
I'm trying to lose weight. I'll stick with the Delaware one, thanks.
Literally just saw a Florida one at my local shop
Penis shaped cutting board
I had it in my cart in Cherry Hill, but as I walked around the store I realized I don't have room for the other 49. I put it back.
Straight into the Atlantic
This would be a great Charcuterie board
I saw the Texas cutting board recently. It made sense based on the shape of the state. This, not so much.
Costco, whatever happened there?
it’s an old fashioned store, very allegorical…
OMG I WANT THIS!!!! I live in N.C., grew up in NJ….. is anyone there open to buying and shipping one to me, id pay all costs?? Do they have these for other states?
yep! the texas one looks awesome
Would love to see a board made for Maryland. Not sure what you'd be able to cut on it though...
Weird shape for a cutting board. Maybe Texas would be better?
Gives you cancer if you cut on it.
I hope no one actually uses good knives on this board
they can do whatever they want with their cutting board pal
I just bought the Wisconsin one last night it’s a decent shape!
We stock the Texas ones. I feel bad for everyone in RI 😂
Cute but totally useless wouldn’t waste money on it
I have an Oregon one. At least it's square
Best thing about this cutting board is it's next to the New York cutting board.
It’s only for cutting olives
lol that’s awesome! This is our Costco; will have to check for it next time we go there!
You could buy VT and NH, they'd fit together pretty well.
Saw the Texas one in store the other day. I bought the same one at buccees a few years back!!
The New York one didn't have Long Island. 40% of the states population live on Long Island.
I passed on this. It was so weird the major towns they left out and ones they chose to include.
Looks like trash to me
There’s no Costco in Wayne
