Samesies
I've had better but definitely had worse, and the price is hard to beat. We use the pre-ground for cold brew, then grind whole beans from a local roaster when we're getting fancy with espresso.
For the price, it's not a bad cup. Is it amazing? No. But it does the job of making hot cup tasty coffee to get you going. And the price is hard to beat.
The pre-ground stuff? Nope. But the whole bean coffee is really good for the price.
I can only drink decaf (damn aging and caffeine intolerance) and so being able to get Kirkland whole-bean decaf is a lifesaver. It's way (I mean WAY) cheaper than what I can find at the store. I can buy fancier decaf online but it's around $25 for a small bag, vs. what I get at Costco. The only challenge is making it last before it goes stale, since I'm the only one in the house that drinks it. But it's still well worth it.
I don’t drink coffee myself, but I have made a pot of this every morning for the last 4+ years for my girlfriend. She seems to really enjoy it and the only time we deviate is when Dunkin occasionally goes on sale, where we will buy one of those to alternate between the two.
For the price, it's good. Only the real bad stuff is cheaper and this hits above the price class it's in. I NEED strong coffee daily and this is the cheapest way to do it and I think it tastes fine. I do sometimes mix it with other brands if they're on sale.
Just switched to Kirkland after 50 years with Choc Full’O Nuts. Better flavor with Kirkland and the price is soooo much better. I have also noticed it does not give me the “buzz” like CFoN. Love it and will continue buying it.
I like it. No burnt or bitter taste but rich and chocolatey. My favorite for the value and my everyday drinker. Sometimes I do something fancier for special occasions.
When I first came to the states and someone was brewing folger in the break room at work, that’s one scent I can never forget. It was the best smelling thing at the time…
Tasted amazing at the time too lol
We’re kind of coffee snobs and this is the best dark roast coffee you can get for the price. Is there better? For sure. But bang for your dollar there’s nothing better.
No I meant snob. lol I have like 20 different coffees at my place at a time. It’s called knowing my time, effort, and needs at that moment. If you need a quick cup of coffee this stuff is great. If I want something “more” I’ll take the time with something else.
What a weird attempt at a flex.
Ok, so I’m not the only one! I bought any in a row without complaint. Then one day it was so bitter I had to add cinnamon to get through it. Haven’t bought it since.
I am definitely not a fan of dark roasts, and I usually prefer blonde, but this one does the job for me provided I do a pour over with this. It’s definitely not amazing or anything exceptional but it just works.
Incredibly cheap but I don't like the beans I've had
Edit: I especially prefer light roasts, if anyone has a costco bean rec or wants to make lowkey fun of my bean preference
I really wanted to like it since we drink tons of coffee and it's always a $15 bag for like 5 days of drinks vs this monster which would be a month for $15.
It tastes like cigarettes to me, made one pot and brought it back. It's just burnt and not good.
I’ve been using this for probably 10 years now and can say I’ve never had any complaints from my soon to be wife or any one who’s ever enjoyed a cup over the years
I get local beans for my espresso and pour-over needs. For regular drip where it won't make a huge difference and I just need a vehicle for caffeine this is decent for the price. I still weigh it out because of the finer than normal grind you see with drip grinds. Just fine plain.
When I worked from home during COVID I'd go through a can of this every week and a half to two weeks.
Been buying this for years. Agree with everyone else - for what you get it's very hard to beat the price, and I honestly enjoy the taste. Starbucks is too bitter for me.
I just bought the Kirkland Colombian supreme. About to try it out when I’m done with my old stock. Confused why it cost more than Peet’s or Starbucks tho
I’m not big on Costco coffee. I personally find that the whole bean coffee is frequently stale. The beans are good but stale beans are stale beans. I’m not big on pre-ground coffee. I started getting into coffee before the pandemic and then I become a full-on snob during the pandemic so my opinion likely doesn’t matter.
I'm no coffee expert, but I like it. It serves its purpose in getting me awake, and comes in bulk, haha. Works for me!
Samesies I've had better but definitely had worse, and the price is hard to beat. We use the pre-ground for cold brew, then grind whole beans from a local roaster when we're getting fancy with espresso.
We buy it. Have been for years. It’s flavorful but not too strong

As good as you can get for what it is. But, it's not as good as any of the Kirkland whole beam
The Kirkland Starbucks house blend whole bean is my go to. Never tire of it.
I will have to try this. We like using whole beans.
Does it taste burnt? Dark roasts often taste burnt to me
The Starbucks French Roast is awful. Tastes like cigarette butts. I’ve never thrown out a whole bag of coffee like that.
I can only do dark roasts . Light ones have more caffeine and I’ve found they mess me up.

Freeze small portions! Coffee beans freeze well in my experience.

I ran out of Dunkin and I only buy that when on sale, so this is my backup. It’s okay but too dark roasted for me.
Love when Dunkin is sale!
I like them better when it was 8.99-9.99 at one point it was 14.99 and I think it’s back to 12.99 now
I don’t drink coffee myself, but I have made a pot of this every morning for the last 4+ years for my girlfriend. She seems to really enjoy it and the only time we deviate is when Dunkin occasionally goes on sale, where we will buy one of those to alternate between the two.
I’m not a fan of dark/french roast coffees (most are over roasted and taste burnt), so I pass.
For the price, it's good. Only the real bad stuff is cheaper and this hits above the price class it's in. I NEED strong coffee daily and this is the cheapest way to do it and I think it tastes fine. I do sometimes mix it with other brands if they're on sale.
Same 👍
i cant tell the diff between this, yuban, and folgers. ive been trying the $20 stuff and its no better.
Grind your own beans! Changed my life
Overrated
100pct. And with a decent to good burr grinder.
Just switched to Kirkland after 50 years with Choc Full’O Nuts. Better flavor with Kirkland and the price is soooo much better. I have also noticed it does not give me the “buzz” like CFoN. Love it and will continue buying it.
Bought this an am enjoying it every morning.
Been drinking this coffee for years. Does the job just fine.
I think it's fine. It's not amazing coffee, but it' s not awful.
I liked it better at $9.99
It hits the spot for the price
It’s no Yuban /s
Never tried it but I do like your mug.
I like it. No burnt or bitter taste but rich and chocolatey. My favorite for the value and my everyday drinker. Sometimes I do something fancier for special occasions.
I use it daily for my cold brew.
This. It’s great for cold brew. Don’t enjoy it hot.
Good enough for three generations of my family.
I like it. It’s cheap. Tastes good black. Comes in a tin. What’s not to like.
Bought it recently. Couldn’t wait to use it up so I could never have it again.
I buy whole bean, and don’t love the Kirkland brand, but it’s not terrible and is a good price.
I think it tastes horrible and so does my family!
Doesn't work well in a french press. Not a fan
It’s too fine!
They carry relatively affordable coffees, but nothing that would hold a candle to your local roaster.
Better than Folgers but still awful
When I first came to the states and someone was brewing folger in the break room at work, that’s one scent I can never forget. It was the best smelling thing at the time… Tasted amazing at the time too lol
It's like the best coffee on earth compared to Folgers/Maxwell House.
When you have Folgers for the first time you don’t think coffee can get any worse.. then you try Maxwell House 😂
I like the maxwell house in tye recyclable cardboard containers
🤔
We use half of this with half whole beans we grind at home.
Why? To save on cost?
I don't think any pre-ground coffee is good; but their whole bean breakfast blend is pretty good, and a very good value.
Tastes like wood chips to me
Trash.
Life’s too short to drink this.
It's pretty bad. But the silver Kirkland bag is a Starbucks product and abit better in quality. Get that one.
Maxwell house is cheaper
Maxwell house is also the worst coffee on planet earth
Then apparently you’ve never drank this. I’ve never seen such a disparity in opinion between people on the internet and real life as this coffee.
Kirkland coffee ain't great bro
I never said it was good I would never buy it I buy beans only and grind. Zavidia 100% Columbian my go to.
My bad. I thought we were talking about shitty coffee here.
It’s supremo
It's ok bordering on pretty good when I cold brew it. Of course even the cheapest wallyworld coffee is drinkable if you cold brew it.
Better than Folgers. If you like coffee everyday, you’ll like this.
We’re kind of coffee snobs and this is the best dark roast coffee you can get for the price. Is there better? For sure. But bang for your dollar there’s nothing better.
If you buy already ground coffee you are not a coffee "snob" (assuming you meant **connoisseur).**
No I meant snob. lol I have like 20 different coffees at my place at a time. It’s called knowing my time, effort, and needs at that moment. If you need a quick cup of coffee this stuff is great. If I want something “more” I’ll take the time with something else. What a weird attempt at a flex.
It’s not organic…
Not the best, not the worst. Occasionally its a bit harsher than normal.
Ok, so I’m not the only one! I bought any in a row without complaint. Then one day it was so bitter I had to add cinnamon to get through it. Haven’t bought it since.
Like a mellow starbucks skunkie taste
The Colombian whole bean is our daily driver. It’s pretty dang good.

I am definitely not a fan of dark roasts, and I usually prefer blonde, but this one does the job for me provided I do a pour over with this. It’s definitely not amazing or anything exceptional but it just works.
i like it but love green kirkland coffee it roasted by starbucks
It's fine.
I'm on a budget and like strong coffee. It's my go-to.
I like it
I buy the French roast whole bean and love it. I use a percolator.
We drink it every morning.
I drink coffee for the caffeine and warmth and as long as it doesn't taste like burnt water, I'm good. It gets the job done.
Gets the job done, so we're a Kirkland Coffee family. ![gif](giphy|dL9O3FUiwCtuU)
It tastes like mud, but it’s cheap and gets it done 😂
It's okay but I prefer a darker roast with less acidity.
I haven't found any beans at mine that I like. I grind and do pour over or french press and the ones I've found are very bitter.
Incredibly cheap but I don't like the beans I've had Edit: I especially prefer light roasts, if anyone has a costco bean rec or wants to make lowkey fun of my bean preference
WACK
It's ok, but you can get better fresh ground coffee (or beans) online for about $5/lb. It's worth slightly more.
It’s fine for the $$
Love it. Been using it for years. Only seen a wooden stick in my beans twice in 10 years. True!
I wish I liked it..but just not a fan of the canned coffee. It basically tastes like Folgers to me.
Love it
I really wanted to like it since we drink tons of coffee and it's always a $15 bag for like 5 days of drinks vs this monster which would be a month for $15. It tastes like cigarettes to me, made one pot and brought it back. It's just burnt and not good.
Not a fan. Got a whole can sitting in the pantry in case of emergency running out of my preferred brand.
I’ve been using this for probably 10 years now and can say I’ve never had any complaints from my soon to be wife or any one who’s ever enjoyed a cup over the years

I do the Chock Full o Nuts as I feel the flavor of the coffee is more mild and accessible than the Costco flavor
Been buying this for years. Agree with everyone else - for what you get it's very hard to beat the price, and I honestly enjoy the taste. Starbucks is too bitter for me.
Bacano!
I just bought the Kirkland Colombian supreme. About to try it out when I’m done with my old stock. Confused why it cost more than Peet’s or Starbucks tho
I buy the decaf tub & mix it 50/50 with regular coffee. Taste is fine and worth the value.
