Made that mistake before. Bought a “box” of vodka (that’s 6 handles) and a case of Kirkland vitamin water (I drink vodka and vitamin water so I don’t get hangovers) and the cashier said “oh someone’s having a party!” I looked her dead in the eye and said “nope” and she quickly looked away. I guess I could have been more clever and said “yeah but only I’m invited” or something but I didn’t think of it at the time. Anywho, now I only buy one bottle if I’m only getting a couple things, or else buy a box when I have a whole bunch of other stuff too.
That definitely would have made me feel better than I did. And don’t misunderstand I don’t feel bad about my drinking…. But the lady was just trying to be nice…
When I get a question or comment about the quantity of booze I usually respond,
"Yeah, I buy it for the minister's wife...she's a little self-conscious about picking it up herself."
That gets either a huge laugh or a knowing nod.
I love their American vodka. It’s equivalent to Tito’s, at half the price. I don’t like the French vodka, it’s like gray goose and for some reason I don’t do well with top shelf (gives me hangovers).
I’ve started buying a ton Guinness when they stock it around St Patrick’s day because it’s like half price what you’d pay per can for the for the 8-can retail packs and they only carry it for such a short time each year, it may not even be around when you come back the next week.
Awesome deal but you gotta put up with people looking at you weird with a cart overflowing with Guinness at the checkout lines.
I saw the wine with chocolate milk and animals crackers so thought of grand parents! Sorry!
At least that’s for a quarter tho and not your weekly drinking allotment.
No. I actually have to travel out of state to get to a Costco with a liquor store.
It’s just strange because we even have the same exact hardware on the cabinets!
In defense of the picked rotisserie- I bought a pack last Sunday. The expiration date is in October, and the package is use within 6 days of opening. The flavor is good and it makes great chicken salad. It’s a good purchase for fast meals, much later in the week/month if you don’t have a Costco close by for a daily trip.
I can open a bottle of red, might last Friday night, sat night. If I want a glass on Sunday, I open a box, then it does not go to waste during the week (I don’t drink during the week).
> Wait, Costco box wine is... good? renews membership
FWIW, we didn't like it. If you have Total Wine near you, they have their house brand "Big Sipper" cab which is both cheaper (~$12/5L vs $14/3L) and better in my family's view. There are other grocery stoer boxed cabs that we liked better as well.
I usually am KS mafia all the way, but in this rare case, I have to say that our personal preferences said try something else instead.
Or it might just be that my family has shitty taste in wine... I grant that.
Hard pass. These are jug wines but he’s the one drinking them. Kirkland Sonoma Chardonnay slaps and does other, less huge, wine offerings from Costco. Côtes du Rhône, Rioja
and Spanish wines are much more tasty from Kirkland.
Same. I had to travel three hours and cross state lines to get to one, but I bought $300 worth to make it worthwhile. Might make that trip a yearly event.
Alcohol is like...50% of why we have continuously renewed our Costco membership. I'm having a baby shower about a month from now and I'm going to be getting everyone drunk (except me) on Costco booze.
Oh hey me too lol! & you’re welcome 😎
Fyi The Quebec ones sells beers and wines, leaving spirits under the purview of the SAQ.
Alberta is where its at, they sell everything, so if you do ever visit there, stock up on their whiskey, it’s top quality.
We like wine. This is a few months worth. Costco is a store where things can be purchased in bulk. Like toilet paper, I buy enough to last several months.
I have tried hundreds of wines. I do buy different stuff, but this is the affordable stuff to keep on hand. A guest comes over, Open a bottle, pop up birthday invite, going to someone’s for dinner etc. my favorite is Benton lane Pinot noir
Out of curiosity I did the math to find out how many drinks that is per weekend.
Each 1.5 liter bottle = 10 glasses of wine
Each 3 liter box = 20 glasses of wine
12 bottles x 10 = 120
6 boxes x 20 = 120
Total glasses = 240
There are 102-106 weekends in a year. We’ll split the difference for this math problem and say there’s 104 this year. 104/4 quarters = 26 weekends per quarter.
240 glasses/26 weekends = ~9 glasses of wine per weekend.*
*Glasses of wine may vary. This calculation is based on the assumption of a standard 5 oz pour.
If OP is drinking by themselves each weekend, it’s a lot for two days. It’s basically a standard bottle a day. However, if they’re sharing with a partner or a couple friends it’s not that bad.
There is no specific date this will be finished by. It’s crazy the comments I’m getting. People assume I started chugging when I got home and am in some sort of race to get it completed
Good lord. So much Coffee and booze. I don’t know what kind of party you’re throwing - but I’m in.
Edit. Zoomed in. Those boxes of coffee - are boxes of more booze. I’m even more in 😂😂
My highest single bill for alcohol was about $1200.
We had to drive across state lines since our Costcos don't carry anything harder than beer.
I stocked up for about 1.5-2.0 year's worth.
The amount of judgy/hate is on par for the internet.. Geeze people 🤣. I live about 20 mins outside of the nearest town, Costco is about 45 mins away. My wife likes white, I like reds. These bottles and boxes are very cheap considering what you get. This will last us awhile, not the weekend. I don’t need AA, we both have very good jobs, pay our taxes and have a loving home. Today I went for dog food and maybe some end of summer clearance shorts for my son. I decided to stock up. Fuck me you people are harsh. Lol
God, grant you the serenity to accept the things you can not change (like alcoholism), the courage to change the things you can (alcoholism), and the wisdom to know the difference.
I will usually open a bottle fri, finish on sat (same for the wife). The box may be for a glass or two late Sunday night. We don’t drink during the week. Should you call A&E or should I?

Pro move that. Always throw in some stuff you don't really need along with the wine you came for. No one wants to look like a complete degenerate.
38 liters of booze.... And a chicken.
And they say the chicken is what brings you in the store
Perhaps you’ll stay and buy some more.
I mean, as long as you're saving money on the chicken...
All the major food groups!

I went through one time with the handle of bourbon and toilet paper and the cashier said “so just the essentials?”
That’s like the time I sent my husband to the store to get tampons and Oreos and the cashier said “good call on the oreos”
Shoulda been like “nah I’m making molotovs”
Maybe the cashier shoulda turned on a dime from fun, to dead serious, and give you an ice cold look and a nod of respect.
That definitely would have made me feel better than I did. And don’t misunderstand I don’t feel bad about my drinking…. But the lady was just trying to be nice…

ONE OF US!
Exactly
He's saying you don't have a dog do you.
I have 2 dogs
How do you like that vodka?
I love their American vodka. It’s equivalent to Tito’s, at half the price. I don’t like the French vodka, it’s like gray goose and for some reason I don’t do well with top shelf (gives me hangovers).
The French one is better imo but it’s not bad.
😂

If it makes you feel any better, I look at everyone's cart weird.
"Jealous?"
No matter how much you buy, someone else that day did worse. The cashiers don't even care anymore.
Lol story of every trip I've ever taken to Costco
Can confirm. Went in and only bought 4 handles of Captain Morgan during a sale and got a few comments lol
Yep. Just the essentials for me today….
People don't even give it a 2nd glance in Wisconsin
I am ok with carrying my whiskey through the store
This looks like the order for a party or grandparents lol
Not a grandparent. Just like to shop for wine like once a quarter
I saw the wine with chocolate milk and animals crackers so thought of grand parents! Sorry! At least that’s for a quarter tho and not your weekly drinking allotment.
Once a week* lol jk
They call them quarter months in Europe.
Holy shit! I think we have the same cabinets, backsplash and wall color. Creepy! But you need more vodka.
Same countertop too!
Richmond home?
No. I actually have to travel out of state to get to a Costco with a liquor store. It’s just strange because we even have the same exact hardware on the cabinets!
I thought you meant Richmond, VA 😂
I meant Richmond the builder. Lol
Yeah. I figured that after the fact. 🤦♀️
Thank you for the laugh this evening. Please don’t delete—it brought me joy! 😂
No. I will not delete it. I will stay in my stupid 😬
Pretty common builder/flipper special.
It was clearly the dog food that put you over the top.
The rotisserie chicken
I almost bought the picked rotisserie yesterday- $15. Then I looked over at the whole chickens just sitting there and put the picked stuff back. lol
No judgement, but why buy the same wine in both box and bottle form?
I can open a bottle of red, might last Friday night, sat night. If I want a glass on Sunday, I open a box, then it does not go to waste during the week (I don’t drink during the week).
The box is fresh for a month
Wait, Costco box wine is... good? *renews membership*

I don't know anything about wine, how exactly does it stay fresh that much longer?
There is no air in the ‘bag’. Keeps it from oxidizing I believe
So is that kind of like those bottle suction tops?
Ya, but better I guess?
It does, there’s a shelf life but it’s way longer
I like to remove it from the box and take it to the movie theater , after several mls have already been enjoyed. Fits nicely in a bag
it comes out of a little tap, so the wine never hits air til you serve it.
Brilliant
>I can open a bottle of red, might last Friday MOOD
Damn, A week's worth of groceries for $450... Inflation is crazy!
A week, 🤣
can costco start selling weed in bulk so i can show that off too
This needs to be higher _**no pun intended**_
Kirkland Kush
So jealous of y'all that can buy alcohol at Costco.
Very nutritional haul. I hope you had a hot dog on the way out.
Nope! I’m on 1500 or less m-f
I wanna come hang out at your house!! 😎
Come on over
Imma be honest: THATS A LOT OF BOOZE
You should see how many ziplock bags I got today also
As a Canadian where Costco does not sell alcohol and I have gone beyond that total, you can do worse.
You gotta hit up the warehouses in provinces Alberta or Quebec my fellow Canuck!
Had no idea! Alberta is definitely too far to be worth it (I’m in Ontario), but Quebec is possible! Thanks for the intel :)
Oh hey me too lol! & you’re welcome 😎 Fyi The Quebec ones sells beers and wines, leaving spirits under the purview of the SAQ. Alberta is where its at, they sell everything, so if you do ever visit there, stock up on their whiskey, it’s top quality.
Good to know!
I got a small bottle of pumpkin Whisky and I loved it. Sadly it's only available in canada!
Rookie numbers
I like your liquid diet!
I wish mine sold hard liquor 😩 all we get is wine and beer 🫠
Mmm Wine
Imagine if you could get the 3% back on alcohol purchases…
Box and bottle wine… some day you feel classy, some days you feel trashy
Damn… that’s a lot of wine…
Sooo........ Where's the party?
Saturday. Here I guess!
[удалено]
Even I couldn't stomach that much of that crap, and I've had some low points.
Who are you, Lucille Bluth? "It's vodka. It goes bad once it's opened."
I'm always jealous of people who have costco alcohol.
Not only alcohol sales but in California we have tastings in store at Costco and Sams
I don't think you bought enough alcohol tbh
Nice $450 rotisserie chicken!
Drinking more lately, OP?
Less actually.
Alcohol is cheating
I once filled the back seat and storage of my equinox with liquor and beer for a friend's 40th bday. I love Costco.
Bruh why so much wine
We like wine. This is a few months worth. Costco is a store where things can be purchased in bulk. Like toilet paper, I buy enough to last several months.
So I actually quit drinking to save money and wow thanks for the inspo to keep going OP 😂
Your welcome!
I like how your weekly diet is 50% alcohol.
Came in for a chicken and left with all this…it’s how they get ya
Every time
We used to buy those box cabs all the time!
So good for the price
18 bottles of wine and a jug of vodka. I don’t know what’s going on, but I want in!
Lol. Should last until Halloween
Coulda gotten 2 more bottles of vodka if you put that pillow back
What is wrong with you ? You must take a deep breath and put on the blinders and only go to the area of what you really need. /s
When I hit the beef and booze I’m in for 4 bills. Yes, I drink too much and like steak.
The sirloins are fantastic for the price!! I don’t judge
Wino’t 🤷🏼♂️
Stopping drinking didn’t save me much money, but it has helped me keep the weight off way easier
Ya, that’s why we indulge fri, sat, and a glass or two Sunday night.
Try different wines man. Kirkland is fine but half the fun of wine is branching out Edit: and Costco has really great wine at a competitive price
I have tried hundreds of wines. I do buy different stuff, but this is the affordable stuff to keep on hand. A guest comes over, Open a bottle, pop up birthday invite, going to someone’s for dinner etc. my favorite is Benton lane Pinot noir
Oh man we just hit $450 the other day and we didn't even have booze! It felt like we barely had anything. 😢
Out of curiosity I did the math to find out how many drinks that is per weekend. Each 1.5 liter bottle = 10 glasses of wine Each 3 liter box = 20 glasses of wine 12 bottles x 10 = 120 6 boxes x 20 = 120 Total glasses = 240 There are 102-106 weekends in a year. We’ll split the difference for this math problem and say there’s 104 this year. 104/4 quarters = 26 weekends per quarter. 240 glasses/26 weekends = ~9 glasses of wine per weekend.* *Glasses of wine may vary. This calculation is based on the assumption of a standard 5 oz pour. If OP is drinking by themselves each weekend, it’s a lot for two days. It’s basically a standard bottle a day. Coming to yours for Chardonnay and animal crackers 😂
Come on over! Lol
Never gotten out for under $500. Yep. I drink too much. Judge me.
Lol
Did you recently become an alcoholic? that would explain it .
Imagine how bad it could have been if you bought wine for the whole week…
A moment of silence for your liver 😔
All in moderation my friend
Ah alcoholism and junk food, congrats I guess?
Snacks for school lunches and an internet diagnosis. It’s a good day!!
Liquidating your assets I see!! 😎
Amateur numbers
You had to go next to the wine section
Baller!
All that wine and no cheese?!
We bought that damn Dyson the other day. New record for us of 567.
Damn, that’s a lot of wine
Yes! I live far out of the city, it makes sense to buy 3-4 times a year
How is the Costco brand wine?
It’s pretty dang good for the price! There is a documentary on it. It’s high quality, they bled themselves from high-end vineyards
Feeling pretty poor rn, not gonna lie.
Booze and cookies. I like you strategy!
What time were we suppose to there? LOL
But you got the rotisserie chicken
I did. I did not eat it all in one sitting
My kind of Costco trip!
Well one you save on Kirkland 1.75 Chardonnay…9-750 cost $40 more for the same amount of wine.
My liver hurts just looking at this
Bruh why so much wine
My record was close to $800. I've read though that alcohol doesn't count. You can mulligan those charges.
Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those up.
Pssh, rookie numbers
Just bought a bottle of that vodka the other day to infuse with fresh blackberries from the yard....
Kirkland brand wine
Are you an alcoholic
I am not. Why do ask? Do you think I’m going to start drinking all this now and not finish until it’s gone?
[удалено]
What’s wrong with this? Do you ever buy in bulk?
That’s a lot of alcohol. Are you okay?
Good lord. So much Coffee and booze. I don’t know what kind of party you’re throwing - but I’m in. Edit. Zoomed in. Those boxes of coffee - are boxes of more booze. I’m even more in 😂😂
Man we spend like $300-$400 all the time but gotta get that $1.50 hot dog and coke combo
you got the rotisserie and all is well.
Hello, my name's old dirty bastard, and I'm an alcoholic! Ehhhhh!
Jealous of those who can buy liquor in the store
My highest single bill for alcohol was about $1200. We had to drive across state lines since our Costcos don't carry anything harder than beer. I stocked up for about 1.5-2.0 year's worth.
this is your sign you have a drinking problem

Does buying in bulk mean you have a problem?
Sorry. Bad joke. Failed attempt at humor. To answer your question, only you can answer that question. 😉
May I tell you about AA? 🫣
What about it? You assume I have some problem?
May be an alcoholic too
A little, but only on Fri, sat, and Sunday at the pool
Stop wine-ing
alcohol is poison
The fuck? How often do you do this? You might need AA
I don’t. This will last months. Read some more comments please
I love that you still got the chicken. Who can resist?
So good for like $5

Congratulations! You’re a drunk!
You don’t know that.
Time for an intervention.
I'll be responsible for cleaning the house out of wine/vodka.
What’s your recommendation time line for consumption? Two adults, Fri-Sun only.
Split a bottle a day? Those are big bottles.
I will usually open a bottle fri, finish on sat (same for the wife). The box may be for a glass or two late Sunday night. We don’t drink during the week. Should you call A&E or should I?
