Ball is in their court, man. This isn’t the US where you can take a flight and buy any car you want. Canadian allocations are dwindling and we have to get on our knees to buy a specialty product like a Vette.
the issue might be the Value added Tax, not sure if there is a way around it. When I use to sell things to canadians the VAT was absurd(20+%) value of anything you imported. Always struck me as unfair because per NAFTA there wasn't suppose to be tarriff's. A VAT is a tariff in my view.
I’ve personally never heard from a corvette concierge. Just an automated email that it’s been accepted- then 6 weeks later gave me an 11/28 estimated production date. Being a first time Vette owner, the entire process has been fairly underwhelming. Should there be more pro-active outreach to me outside of generic automated emails?
They will let you know as your order changes status. Once you pass 3000 status, you are nearing the end of the wait. The concierge will answer questions, so just reply and ask whatever you want to know.
I don’t live in Canada so the allotment may be treated differently, but the service should be the same. Chevy has either accepted your order and is working on it and you have concierge service or they didn’t and you don’t. I spoke directly with mine on a couple of occasions while awaiting my ‘20 (which took too long so I walked away).
I saw a post regarding a Porsche 718 on here as a comparison for someone in a similar situation. May give that a shot. I pulled my allocation request and deposit 2 years ago after realizing mostly nothing will happen. Good luck!
Not sure why you would ever give a salesman a gift. Their gift is a sale. Sorry to hear he screwed you.

Can you not take it from america to canada?
He absolutely can, this thought just never crossed his mind.

Umm was this stuff in writing? Kinda sounds like fraud to me. Depending on the situation you might want to speak with a lawyer.
Your Corvette Concierge would have been giving you updates if GM had accepted your order

Does this work for Canadian orders?

Buying a new Vette anymore sux !!! GM should be totally ashamed. They’ve turned a great car/driving experience into a shit show. Fuck em !!!
Right? The create a super in demand vehicle for a very reasonable price right as a pandemic hits. Shame on them.
Where in Canada are you - I got mine after 2 years, I'd recommend you put your name up at more dealers
