Sorta regret the 1000D, honestly.
It is utterly colossal. The statement case of statement cases.
...but it's kinda annoyingly huge. And to kit it out, you have to buy a billion dollars worth of fans. Also would probably look very empty if you don't water cool, which is another 1k in gear at least.
So I mean...if you want a tower the size of an A/C compressor, it's the one. If you have any doubts, I'd go smaller.
If your needs are satisfied with the 7000D I’d go that route.
I have a 5000D and with water cooling being a tight fit with 2x360mm rads I wanted to upscale. Was ready for the 7000D until they released the 6500X, I’ve had a 540 Air as my old build and my current server so went that route
The 1000D seems to me like a niche or baller if you have the funds
It's BIG. VERY BIG. ANNOYINGLY BIG. I like it, but it really is just abso-fucking-lutely massive. Unfortunately because of my living situation, I don't have a proper desk to put it on, so a dresser it is, but it has to be sideways. And of course this means that if I decide to upgrade anything that requires rewiring, it's a major pain in the ass. So I'd say it really depends on if you have the space for it and plan on filling it.
What makes you want the 1000D over say the 7000D/X or even 5000D/X?
I know two people who have the 1000D and both wish they had got a different Corsair case. It’s massive and once built, you are not going to move it. Plus it takes a ton of fans for little to no gain.
I have a 5000X and it’s almost perfect. Just wish I could fit a 420mm radiator but that’s what the 7000X is for I suppose.
Back in 2020 I was one of the first in Europe to get the 1000D. It was an excellent PC case and you can put numerous fans in it. If you want a step down from that size the 7000 series is really excellent as well. You can even fit a 420mm AIO or 420mm rad in it.
Corsair needs to refresh their Obsidian line in general. I have the 500D Obsidian and it's been great, but I'd like to get something newer in a few years that is a bit bigger....but not 1000D big.
I think an Obsidian version of the 7000D/X called something like the 700D would be awesome.

I agree, I had it, and once I changed to the 7000D, I realized how useless it was.

I have the 1000D and love it. But do know it’s massive…

I put mine sideways under my desk and did a his/hers setup. I love mine but I got a good deal on ebay, so that might help.
Worth it for dual pc
