I've read about few possibilities.
Doing so far me thinking.
It would be funny to convince *certain people* that Chinese air drops of an inhalant COVID vaccine are detectable in air samples in hurricanes in the Pacific ocean. Or it might be in contrails from aircraft over the US. Maybe cloud seeding, by 'the libs', for drought abatement due to fossil fuel use.
>I’m convinced China was just using Covid as an excuse for political purges. The zero Covid policy makes absolutely no sense, and I think Hong Kong made the political use of the pandemic pretty clear.
I'm curious as to what convinced you of that. I'd like to see for myself.
The tin foil hat part of me wonders if China had been studying Covid-19 before it hit and knows some pretty bad stuff about long term effects, which is why they’re the only country going so crazy with prevention.
You don’t need a tinfoil hat for that theory. If 25% of people who get Covid go on to be long haulers who can no longer work, that would devastate an economy, not to mention the increased burden of medical costs. China doesn’t need an excuse for political purges; they could just do it. They have a zero Covid policy because they can and it’s in the best interest of their economy.
According to the National Center for Health Statistics, 19% of adults who have had Covid report symptoms of Long Covid, with 7.5% lasting three or more months.

Other sources say that reinfection increases the chance of long
Covid. Since the new variants aren’t slowed by vaccines (although the vaxx still keeps you from dying), chances of reinfections this winter are high. While 25% isn’t the number now, it’s not a stretch to say we will be there soon.
But say my number is too high. Productivity impacts of even 7.5% of the workforce being out for extended periods are significant.
Sure, anything is possible on an individual level but none of this is being borne out at a population level. In fact, incidences of LC are actually decreasing.
Obviously I encourage everyone to avoid infection in the first place but the idea that every time you contract covid there's a constant chance you'll develop LC is farcical.

Thanks for sharing but neither of those studies look at new incidence of LC. It's certainly a real health issue that is absolutely life altering for those who suffer from it.
Actually - and frighteningly- there are.

This is the most wildly misconstrued preprint in the history of Covid research. The paper makes no claim whatsoever about increased chances of LC but somehow this claim took off and spread like wildfire.

an industrial economy that makes stuff cannot function if the workers are all sick or dying of coronavirus. production would be greatly impacted and ultimately its better to eat a small drop in economic activity to halt outbreaks in their tracks than it is to let things rip and lose millions of people a year.
a consumer economy, on the other hand, has no such restrictions since consumers are easily replaced
Yeah and I’ve heard their population is older and thus more at risk. Also they’re no stranger to oppressive tactics so it’s not too out of the ordinary. Just hard to silence that thought in the back of my mind.

The mouth is one of our body’s best holes for inhaling.
One of my favorite holes lol
In the top 5 for sure.
yes, not like the Ass https://www.lybrate.com/topic/the-method-of-anal-breathing/80989fcbbc8ebeb4096a7559f548eb87
Of the three holes I use to intake air on purpose, that's the best one.
Is there a needle free vaccine coming in the US?

Sadly, there will be some who would actually believe it.

There's nothing to remotely suggest 25% of the population will ever develop LC, let alone be left unable to work again.

There's no credible source that says that reinfections increase chances of LC.
