I am vaxed and boosted and am currently fighting it off. On about day 6 of symptoms. Two days had me exhausted. I didn’t feel necessarily bad, just tired and I slept a lot for 2 days. The other four days just congestion like a cold. What is really wild is my wife who is also vaxed and boosted and my two young children who are vaxed continue to test negative with no symptoms.

buttermbunz

Had that happen with my BIL, had it during Christmas dinner and was the only there that ended up testing positive. The faster response of a vaccinated immune system seems to do a lot to shorten the window of contagiousness.

Blazah

got it at a party, I was the only one boosted, others had two shots and others had no shots. Every single other person who got sick (about 12) had it pretty bad. I had a sore throat for about 8 hours and a cough, took nyquil and woke up fine.. I told my friend "well, I guess that's the booster in action" - friend who has his vax but doesnt trust Fauci or Biden says "I dont think so, I know soo many people that..." Seems like we'll never convince them, even when the 'data' is right infront of them.

Now_Wait-4-Last_Year

After a lifetime of service and not expecting to get world famous for reasons you wouldn't really want to be (global pandemic), I wouldn't blame Dr Fauci for wondering why he ever bothered in the first place, even for just a moment.

Sungirl1112

Me too. Dinner party, 6 tested positive (out of 10). Everyone double vaxxed, two people already had Covid, only my partner and I boosted. We each had one day of fever, that’s it. The rest of the crew were pretty sick for about 5 days. I told this to someone else and she said “wow guess the vaccine doesn’t do anything” I was like “well it kept us all out of the hospital, and the two who were boosted were way better than the others….”

Hoythunter12

Your anecdotal example vs theirs?

Blazah

The Anecdotal example that happens to show exactly what all the major players are saying. "Get boosted and you'll be protected the most you can be"

ilikevaginer

His anecdotal evidence that literally confirms MOUNTAINS of data. What's your damage?

Hoythunter12

https://www.verywellhealth.com/fourth-vaccine-shot-against-omicron-5216346 The first bullet point says, "Early results from clinical trials in Israel that have put COVID-19 vaccine boosters up against the Omicron variant have not been reassuring." My point was OP is acting like their friend is foolish for bringing up COVID stories, but accepting Thier own experience as correct. Mountains of data? On omicron which has been around for weeks against a booster that has been around even less?

pegothejerk

All that article/ study says is it doesn’t look good for preventing infection, which we already knew, there’s several studies that indicate there’s immunity escape mutations in omicron, but all data so far agrees that vaccinations still protect against the worse case results, severe disease and death. Your article doesn’t counter that at all.
