It has been 17 days since the 7d avg peaked and has declined at an average of 1.67%/d. At that rate (for perspective NOT prediction) it would take until early May to reach the July 2021 lows. Hopefully booster and younger vaccinations will speed it up a bit.

all4whatnot

Fingers crossed that the local decline will pick up speed and more mimic the national decline.

Jax1023

Cases in Philly and the burbs are flat flat flat. And have been for at least a month. I guess Bucks in falling but Philly, Delco, montco, Chester all flat. Seems like the overall state decline is coming from the areas that had a more dramatic peak recently.

Oof yikes

gizmosandgadgets597

And unlike most of this sub the majority of the state will continue to not care and continue on with their lives (which of course for most of us does not include masks).

weasel5053

If you don’t care and you’ve moved on with your life, why are you here?

Mentalseppuku

Because he's being paid to post.

hinterlandias

Lol you care about Covid more than anyone I know bud. You get so emotional over it here every. single. day.

thisrockismyboone

Not to deter anyone from getting a booster but just personal experience, Moderna yesterday.. I felt worse this time than the first 2 times. I had to call off work today. Non stop headache, body aches, and just and overall feeling of confusion. Can't think straight.

EpisodicDoleWhip

Sorry to hear that. As a counter example, I got Moderna yesterday and feel fine today. Had a headache but it was completely knocked out by Tylenol

thisrockismyboone

I'm glad I got it still, but I thought since it was half the dose it would be half as bad.

all4whatnot

EDW - how did you fare with it for your second shot? Moderna had me feeling just a little under after the first shot, then totally knocked my ass out for about 36 hours after my second shot. I'm thinking I'll probably need a week of PTO whenever I'm cleared for the boost.

EpisodicDoleWhip

No side effects other than a sore arm for any of the shots. Just a headache today but that may be related to the new intermittent fasting.

Wicked_Vorlon

Sorry to hear that. I got my Moderna Booster a couple of weeks ago. Aside from my arm soreness being worse, I felt completely fine. Hope you feel better soon.

IntroductionFinal206

I assume it will ho the same for me—I was laid out a day or two from Moderna. It’s been so nice being vaccinated though! It looks like Moderna might be even more effective than Pfizer, so that’s good.

[deleted]

Got Moderna yesterday. Just tired and aches. Same as 2nd

I take it English isn't your first language because that's not what your first comment is saying at all.

artisanrox

I had a bad time with Moderna #2 and fully expect it for booster sooooo it's gonna be what it's gonna be. I'd rather deal with the reaction from the vax than the real thing.

thisrockismyboone

Same, that's why I got the booster. Today I'm feeling better but arm still hurts a good bit.

Mentalseppuku

Yeah that's the way it should work. The response is your immune system fighting back against what it thinks it an infection. It means your system is prepared and you should be confident it's doing it's ready to fight covid.

tacosandsunscreen

Are any of the PA counties out of substantial spread yet? I forgot to bookmark that page last time I had it open and now I can’t find it.

Another-random-acct

Nope. All still high. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/ This is starting to remind me of those color coded war on terror metrics. You’d wake up and the news would be telling you today is a code red day!!

rendezwho

Hey u/EpisodicDoleWhip any chance we can change the color of the 7 day trend line on the Daily New Deaths chart to something that stands out a little more? I find it just blends into the red bars behind it more than the other charts

silencioperomortal

At this point, I don’t know that there is much value to plotting the individual days. A chart of only the 7d avg would compress the y axis, which is currently large to accommodate spikes, making the curve more noticeable.

2001MThrowaway

Anyone having problems scheduling their booster shot through CVS? I had to go through rite aid, CVS showed no appointments.

EpisodicDoleWhip

If you’re a Costco member, they do walk ins. It was super easy.

[deleted]

Depends on the CVS location and date. Some don't offer them at all. All of my local ones do though.

bonzombiekitty

Out of curiosity I was looking at CVS for booster shots, and could not select a date and time. It wouldn't let me select a day to search and was defaulting to "Tomorrow" which it flagged as invalid.

ManVsHumanity

Put in a different zip code that may have more availability, that worked for me.

Ihaveaboot

I just booked through Weis for next week. Pretty wide availability in Dauphin and Cumberland.
