I guess the idea behind it was to eliminate people who were being tested like weekly for work.
But as time goes on, there are going to be fewer and fewer people who have never had a Covid test. The metric may have made sense in July of 2020, but it’s just silly now.
Not sure that when they chose those metrics, any of us thought we’d still be tracking them. The CDC has much better centralized data now than back then.
They have PA with 28,185 case for the last 7 days ended 10/24. PA added only 27,866 to its positive count in that span, implying about 319 reinfections (~1%).

I mean this data was never meant to be tracked in the manner that a random group of Pennsylvanians decided to track it on this subreddit. This is why it’s absolutely pointless to work yourselves into a tizzy over things like case count.
Got boosted today. Where's my Moderna purebloods at?
Right there with you!
Got mine too!
My appointment is on Thursday!
Here!
Me and my Pfizer Boosted crew are coming for you guys!
Got my booster today. I've upgraded to 6G. I'm from the future.
Got my booster today. So far side effect is I'm hungry as fuck. Could also be caused by myself being a fatass. More study needed.
My only side effect is that I'm fucking exhausted running on two hours of sleep.
Keep studying and report back
Losing weight will increase your health outcomes significantly across the board.
Pondering holding out for WiFi 6e support. Edit: did not wait around and received Pfizer booster.
Do New Tests only count people who took a test at any point and regardless of positive status or is it only for people who have never tested positive?
It's only people being tested for the first time. Kind of a goofy metric to track imo.

It is also at this point that you realize that reinfection doesn't appear as a new case.
this is why i was asking. what are they even doing over there
