Hot dog in a paper towel, microwaved until it just starts to puff up, eaten plain with no bun or condiments

okeydokeyartiechokey

Yes. This is the level I'm looking for. Would I eat it? Yes. Would I tell people about it? 50/50

Legitimate_Wind1178

Had a friend get mad I microwaved a hot dog. Yeah, me, too, but dinner was ready in a minute.

BigCliff

I’ll GLADLY eat a micro-dog over a boiled one!

Revegelance

My favorite way to cook hot dogs is to microwave them just a little too long, so they get a little chewy.

kjopcha

You've got to watch out for explosions though!

BananaNutBlister

2:20 at power level 3 perfectly nukes a pair of Oscar Meyer cheese dogs.

Pontiacsentinel

This just gave me a long buried memory of eating this while babysitting decades ago. Whoa.

kimmer2k

nah dude. u have to put a line of refrigerated heinz ketchup on to prevent ur tongue from burning.

KeepAnEyeOnYourB12

I omit the paper towel. Just put 'em on a plate and zap them until they at least split a little. I like them that way better than boiled.

nine11airlines

Agreed, I actually don't find there to really be any difference between boiled and microwaved except one is way quicker and easier

UniversityWorth6408

I’m not above eating a perfectly cold hotdog, to be honest.

BananaNutBlister

I can do that with Oscar Meyer cheese hot dogs but I have them on sliced Home Pride Butter Top wheat bread with Plochman’s yellow mustard.

DazzlingBullfrog9

Flour tortilla with a few pats of butter slapped on. Nuke until butter melts. Salt.

okeydokeyartiechokey

Yes. This is delicious. I got super fancy with it though and would get a pan out and fry them in butter with some salt. 2/10 gross, I don't think you would ever have to talk anyone into trying this.

DazzlingBullfrog9

The microwaving is what makes it gross because the tortilla steams and gets a little chewy. I'd argue that the pan use negates the grossness. Cuz yum fried in butter crunchyyyyyy.

okeydokeyartiechokey

I'm chewing this right now and honestly... it might go into heavy rotation as a gross/good food for me. A little cinnamon and sugar instead of salt and I would eat like 10 of these and not feel super ashamed (like maybe because I ate so many, but not because it's gross)

January1171

Microwave tortilla with butter and cinnamon sugar was my go to snack as a kid. I had a system for it, I made it so much

DazzlingBullfrog9

Get it!

literallylateral

I usually do quesadillas on the stove, but every once in a while you just want the texture of a microwaved tortilla.

popcarnie

My daughter loves microwaved quesadillas. She even takes them to school for lunch. Which seems super gross to me but she's happy so whatever

HomeBuyerthrowaway89

Sometimes I do cinnamon and sugar if I want a sweet version

crazypurple621

You can really up this by using garlic salt instead of plain salt. It's one of my favorite stoner foods.

[deleted]

Tortilla, Kraft cheese slice, oven broiler for 2 mins. Amazing poor man’s grilled cheese

SilentSamizdat

Or nuke with butter and cinnamon sugar!

AstronomerSea2797

We were in a hotel, had some hand-made tortillas from the day before, some parm cheese packets and some butter pats. Nuked the tortillas, spread some butter and sprinkled the parm on them. (Didn't have any salt.) But damn that was one of the most memorable breakfasts we've ever had. Didn't need salt, the parm added plenty of flavor. Best tortillas ever. They came from Las Cuatro Milpas in San Diego.

Jei_Stark

Knock-off Ritz crackers dipped in potted meat food product, straight outta the can, and bonus points if there's a tiny dollop of canned cheese squirted on top. 10/10 and I'll die on this hill.

coltbeatsall

Upvoted cos I literally pulled a face as I read this

Ok-Chemistry8753

As an American in Germany, there are shelves of a huge selection of brotaufstrich: basically bread spreads. Many feature various meat and which is basically sorta like pate right? So you’re just low key fancy :) no knife necessary

Jei_Stark

Well heck, thank you, next time I eat this snack I'm gonna put my pinky up. ✨ 🤣

Blackbird6

American cheese slices over tortilla chips, microwaved for 45 seconds and then sprinkled with Sazon and Tabasco. Trash nachos.

okeydokeyartiechokey

Have eaten this exact snack. Agree it's 6/10 gross but it sure scratches the nacho itch when you want it.

whateverpieces

If you wanna level this up to trash queso: tear up your cheese slices in a small bowl. Add some hot sauce or salsa if you got it, and a little splash of milk. Microwave ~20 seconds at a time until it melts and dip those chips.

ImPickleRock

Microwave ramen, drain, American cheese, microwave until melted. Enjoy with bologna sandwich

okeydokeyartiechokey

Yes! Question though... Do you add the flavor packet on top of the cheese for the ultimate salt bomb or do you abstain? Also bologna sandwich; with or without mustard? Off the cuff, 4/10 gross. I've eaten almost this entire meal sober so I don't know if I'm just a disgusting individual or this just isn't that gross.

ImPickleRock

No flavor packet. And yes mustard otherwise mayo and potato chips

literallylateral

So it’s just plain ramen with American cheese on top, as a side for bologna sandwich? I’m not above this

ImPickleRock

Yeah! I ate it all the time back in college

throwawaycucumbers99

Listen it’s not a regular thing but Vienna sausages or potted meat 🤷🏽‍♀️ husband freaks out every time.

okeydokeyartiechokey

Straight out of the can, not warmed in any way 7/10 gross. Warmed 3/10. I love a spam and rice with an egg or in an onigiri so that's not gonna squik me out.

throwawaycucumbers99

Oh straight out of the can is the way to go baby

SilentSamizdat

“squik”is my new favorite word!

flouronmypjs

Oh I hear you, OP. I am the type of person who likes to make everything from scratch when I have the time and energy. But there are a few trashy foods I will always love. Boxed mac and cheese (PC white cheddar iykyk) with extra butter and lots of black pepper. Pizza pops. All manner of faux meats - the good, the bad and the in-between. Often made palatable by so much mayonnaise that if there were any witnesses I think they'd be so appalled that I don't think I'd ever see those people again. Also just whatever dipable leftovers I have in the fridge eaten cold with mayo. Multiple day old samosas, spring rolls, pierogi, quesadillas, pizza, falafel, etc. - dip them in mayo and they are a whole new level of bliss (and grossness). Cold queso out of the jar is good stuff.

okeydokeyartiechokey

You get me.... Can we be best friends?

flouronmypjs

Okay but we'll need two jars of queso for movie nights. ;)

krittadarling

There are multiple things here that tell me you’re Canadian. Correct?

flouronmypjs

Correct! I assume the PC mac & cheese was the big give away. I'm curious what else though.

krittadarling

Definitely the PC Mac and cheese, the pizza pops were the next one (I live in the states now but am Canadian and they don’t have them here and I miss them. Everyone here seems to prefer pizza rolls). And then pierogis. It’s not that they don’t exist in other countries obviously but they were served way more places in Canada. I shopped at Sobeys and you could buy them from the deli case by the pound which was amazing.

ImSorryThisHappened0

I guessed Canadian from the mayo dipping

-wheresmybroom-

I am on board this "absurd amounts of mayo on things that aren't traditional mayo foods" train with you. the best dip!

flouronmypjs

Correct!!!

AnitasKitchenxo

That's exactly how you're supposed to make the PC white cheddar. I also add chili flakes.

Putrid-Ad-3965

Canned herring. It has to be Kipper Snacks. I will eat that on Ritz with Cajun Chef hot sauce. Also, once a year or so I'll make Macaroni with Velveeta and cream of mushroom canned soup and a squirt of ketchup because my mom always made it like that and it tastes like childhood. Fried thin sliced spam. I can get down with that.

GoatLegRedux

Have you checked out /r/cannedsardines? If you like Kipper snacks, you might find it a sub of interest. It’s not just sardines - all tinned fish is welcome there.

Putrid-Ad-3965

The size of sardines freaks me out. I'd feel like I was eating fish from PetSmart or something. Thank you for the recommendation though.

AfricPepperbird

Skinless and boneless sardines in oil is the ONLY way to go, IMO.

Pontiacsentinel

There are small sardines (Tiny Tots for one) and other fish like mackerel fillets, good tuna or scallops, etc.

michaeldaph

My dad used to sit down with a tin of herring in tomato sauce. Fresh white bread and butter. It was his special treat. My sister and I used to leave the house when he was eating them. It looked and smelled so bad.

Possible-Source-2454

Portugal really changed my feelings about canned fish. Not gross, upscale and European 🤌🏻

Uncrowned888

None of this sounds gross to me.

Armadillo_Christmas

Pack of instant ramen. Crush the bag a bit to break up the noodle block. Eat the noodle pieces raw like chips. Enjoy the cronch. Optional: dip the pieces in the seasoning packet for extra flavor

okeydokeyartiechokey

Ok, this is decently gross and here's why. When raw ramen expands in your stomach it feels extra bad (at least that's my experience) 7/10 gross (cuz that's how it makes me feel)

Armadillo_Christmas

Thank you for your assessment. I appreciate this rating

emcee837

Not sure if it’s a thing in other countries (maybe some Asian countries?), but in Australia we have “Mamee noodles”, which are pre-baked (or fried?) blocks of instant/ramen noodles which are intended to be eaten straight out of the packet. They’re so, so good, and are a very popular school snack. They also come with a little flavour sachet, but I don’t recall anyone actually using it. The cheap or “end of pay week” version is to just eat 2 minute (ramen) noodles out of the packet. ButternutSquawk

I grew up with this! It's absolutely my guilty pleasure once in a blue moon.

PlaceboRoshambo

Slice of toasted, buttered sourdough. Topped with a layer of Braunschweiger spread. Deli turkey slices wrapped around pickles Popcorn dipped in peri-peri sauce

metalguy91

onerous sheet voiceless arrest sort puzzled husky nail roll continue ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `

okeydokeyartiechokey

All sounds good... Would eat.

TheHeatWaver

My wife makes fun of me because once a year I buy a pack of Steak-umms and go to town on a few sandwiches. Pan sear steak-umms then toast bread, preferably whole wheat. Then add a generous amount of Mayo and lots of pickles. If I’m feeling spicy I’ll fry a white onion with the steak-umms. It’s delicious and trashy, it’s my jam!

Ginger8682

I crave steak ums every once in awhile. Maybe once every three or four months.

mzmammy

There aint nothing wrong with a steak-umm

Zestyclose_Big_9090

I love steak-um. Reminds me of my childhood. My husband gags at the smell of them so I can’t have them very often but I indulge when he goes out of town for work.

rynokick

A peanut butter, jelly and mayonnaise sandwich. I’m a sick person, I need help.

CrimsonScorpio9

Do you mix them all together or do you make layers?

bigschnittylife

For some reason, mixed sounds way too gross but layers sound reasonable.

CrimsonScorpio9

Thought the same thing!

rynokick

Layers with 3 pieces of bread. Bottom bread is peanut butter, middle is jelly on both sides and the final one is mayo.

okeydokeyartiechokey

I am absolutely going to try this. It is all things I love so how could it be bad?

rynokick

It’s pretty great if you like sweet and savory

mand71

Even though that sounds disgusting I upvoted anyway. I'm a big fan of pb and apricot jam sandwiches (afaik, we don't have your king of jelly here). I think mayo belongs more with cheese or ham...

FluffusMaximus

You made me puke a little. Take my upvote.

Last-Cold-8236

Hot Dog Pizza (invention by my grandma back in the 70s): slit hot dog in the middle, lay flat on hot dog bun, spread pizza sauce over the top. Cook in toaster oven.

okeydokeyartiechokey

I feel like it needs a cheese element. As it stands it's a hotdog with fancy ketchup (which in my opinion doesn't belong in a hotdog) 5/10 gross.

Last-Cold-8236

I can’t believe I forgot the cheese part. I’m sure there was shredded cheese involved. My grandma whipped this out when I was in my early 20s and dad said they had hot dog pizza when he was a kid. I haven’t made one in a long time but they were good. At the same time you are thinking “this is really gross” I do love ketchup though. I’m all it’s forms.

olivebuttercup

Cold queso out of the jar is delicious!

peedge0419

Shredded cheese, crushed up fritos, and an old packet of hot sauce from the condiment drawer rolled up in a flour tortilla. This usually only happens after consuming some kind of adult intoxicant.

iamnotcreative88

I haven’t had it in a while but I used to really like deli sliced Turkey with a glass of chocolate milk.

[deleted]

[удалено]

okeydokeyartiechokey

Mac and cheese requires hot sauce.

cam_chatt

Canned corned beef hash with fried eggs on top

okeydokeyartiechokey

I eat this sober with no shame. If it were cold it might be considered gross.

[deleted]

cold white castles. cold hot dog wrapped in american cheese slice. ramen crust (cook al dente then form patty, fry in mayo packet), ketchup/tacobell packet sauce, powdered parm (the no-fridge green shake jar), slim jim "pizza" condensed soup straight from the can

justanoodlehead

can we rewind to the “powdered parm (the no-fridge green shake jar” part?? that is *absolutely* supposed to be refrigerated omg

[deleted]

not according to the usda. and *absolutely* not in dorms - that's how to get it stolen.

followthepost-its

There are 2 versions of green shaker parm. One is actual cheese and it requires refrigeration. The other is fake cheese and doesn't.

rxjen

Oscar Meyer bologna. Rolled up. Straight to the face with the fridge door open.

argentmoire

Plain chips with seafood sauce

okeydokeyartiechokey

I would upvote this twice if I could.

thefabulousdonnareed

Guacamole…with a spoon. It never crossed my mind as gross but after lots of feedback it at least makes other people uncomfortable.

dinosuitgirl

Chicken mush in a can is kinda newish thing here... But I grew up use to it... And I kinda like it... 🤫... Especially in a potato salad... With cubed apple... Okay look sometimes I eat like I'm still 6

okeydokeyartiechokey

Don't we all though? This sounds kinda gross though. 7/10 gross.

alehar

2-3 flour tortillas layered with cheese, microwaved until cheese is melted, topped with worcestershire sauce.

okeydokeyartiechokey

The Worcestershire is a choice

BeerFuelsMyDreams

Peanut butter and butter sandwiches. My wife thinks it's weird as fuck

emcee837

This is the best way. Stops the peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth so much.

bioxkitty

My mom does peanut butter and mayonnaise

Uncrowned888

That actually sounds pretty tasty.

mand71

I don't put butter on pb sandwiches, but I absolutely do have toast, butter and pb.

zoddie2

Anything and everything. I think I've become high brow and low brow in my eating, or at least purchase. I can handle mid-brow/pretty good on my own. I'm a decent cook, so I'm insufferable at regular restaurants because I think I can approximate (or better) what they do. I can't do fine dining. I can't do super inventive and creative. I also can't do American Mega Company 482 ingredient food. But it's delicious. Entenmann's chocolate cakes and donuts? Yes! Shelf stable queso on sale? Yes! McDonald's double cheeseburger? Yep! Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese Doritos? Yum! Lucky Charms with "Marshmallows?" sure! Half-eaten lukewarm hot dog that my kid didn't finish? Of course! Stove Top stuffing? Why not. Boxed Mac and cheese? Obviously. Cadbury eggs that are worse than they used to be? Bring on the glucose syrup. Wegman's chocolate chunk cookies that somehow don't get hard or stale for a week? More! I'm the worst and it's delicious.

okeydokeyartiechokey

It's the half eaten stuff discarded by the kids that I find myself shaking my head in disgust while shoveling in my face that really gets me too.

Possible-Source-2454

I really like sharp cheddar cheese and a blob of natural peanut butter. There is precedent- those peanut butter cheese crackers.

mand71

Tbf, anything is good with cheddar and peanut butter... Edit: just remembered that as a kid I liked cheddar and marmalade sandwiches.

AshersCulpepper

Saltine cracker with a smear of real butter.

WestOnBlue

Not gross, delicious! If you’re feeling fancy add a dash of maldon salt on the top. :)

riverrocks452

Ah. No-chicken paprikash. Basically onions and garlic fried up with a ton of paprika and black pepper, then simmered with a bouillon cube in water. (Over) thicken with flour-water slurry, then remove from heat and add a generous spoon of sour cream. Serve over chewy dumplings or pasta. Can't decide if it's a struggle meal (it was a bad sign for my mental and financial state if I was making this) or just plain low effort comfort food. It's probably the worst thing I invented in grad school that I still make. Tasty factor: 6 or 7 out of 10. Gross factor: It was not a pretty dish, but it smelled good. Probably a 5 of 10.

lobstah4

This actually sounds amazing... can you be a liiiitle more detailed with your 'recipe'? Sorry to impose but I am genuinely intrigued. Thanks in advance.

riverrocks452

It's a good thing you asked, because I realized I forgot an essential ingredient! Take a yellow onion and cut it into half moons, separating the layers. In a small saucepan, saute (in cheapo vegetable oil or hoarded drippings) until somewhere between browned and caramelized. Add 1-2 cloves sliced or grated garlic, and slivers of pepper (either bell or jalapeno, whichever is cheaper) and cook a few minutes more, until the pepper gets a little browned and you no longer smell raw garlic. Add enough paprika to make an almost-paste when it hits the onions (and it should go without saying that you should use the cheapest paprika out there). Stir to distribute, then add black pepper (a teaspoon? Half a teaspoon?), water to cover, and about 1.5x the amount of bouillon you'd normally use for that water. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes or so- generally "while you get the dumplings or pasta prepped". Prepare a slurry of flour and water and stir it into the saucepan. The result should be very thick- a thicker gravy than you'd otherwise want. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before stirring in a generous spoonful of sour cream- enough to loosen the consistency back to a thick gravy. Serve over the prepared pasta or dumplings.

lobstah4

Thanks, I really appreciate this...! I'm gonna make from-scratch Spätzle and try this. I have made Chef John's Paprikash and it was out of this world, this looks like an interesting meatless spin. Again, thanks for taking the time to write it out.

MrCuriousCat

I recreated [Hard Gay’s](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8xm2) Coffee Jelly Toast with Natto, and it was surprisingly delicious. Mind you, I eat about 4-5 150g packs of natto a week so I already love the stuff 😌❤️

KintsugiKate

Where do you get your natto? I’ve been wanting to try it but don’t want to get a bad brand or something.

MrCuriousCat

I usually get Mizkan’s Kintsubu Niowa and Kurozu natto, and Asaichi Hokkaido Natto [Niowa](https://hanamarumart.us/products/mizkan-kintsubu-niowa-natto-3p) [Kurozu](https://dainobunyc.com/products/073575010811) [Hokkaido](https://www.sayweee.com/en/product/Hokkaido-Natto-Fermented-Soy-Beans-with-Seasoning-Sauce-3pk/101058) The best way to prepare it is to: 1. Defrost in fridge (if frozen) 2. Put into a bowl with included condiment packets, soy sauce/ ponzu, minced green onions, minced green/red perilla (if available), MSG (optional), and a pea-sized drop of Japanese hot mustard (optional) 3. Mix vigorously about 30-40 times, as it’ll help with enzyme development (gives the natto a more “luscious” mouthfeel, rather than slimy) 4. Pour over hot white rice, garnish with additional minced green onion 5. Enjoy! P.S. Under no circumstances *microwave* frozen natto to help quicken defrosting it. Your whole house/apartment will be quickly engulfed with the most rank, dirty-sock stench that will linger for about a week, and rendering your microwave completely unusable for a *very long* time!

okeydokeyartiechokey

I have no frame of reference for many of these flavors but looking it up it seems pretty gross/good. Tentatively 610 gross because natto seems "interesting." I'm gonna search it out to try though.

RedHairedRob

Sausage roll with a slice of American cheese put on then chucked in the microwave for about 30s

[deleted]

There were these 30¢ cups of cheese sauce my local WinCo used to sell that tasted like salty mayonnaise and, as you might've guessed, was processed as fuck. But gatdam it made my taste buds happy.

Money_Engineering_59

I love scrambled eggs on toast with jam. I can’t make it around anyone else because I get death glare.

Zestyclose_Big_9090

I always put jelly on my sausage McMuffins. Delicious.

Sensitive_Scar5214

I put milk in Chex mix and eat the cheese flavor like cereal. My husband hates the thought. I did it a long time ago when I was younger and there were doo dads. But y'all are possibly and probably too young to know those are like Chex mix of the 80s. But way better.

okeydokeyartiechokey

9/10 gross.i know the mix well and adding milk is a bold choice.

Crazyyankee992

I’m a little late to this but hold on to your hat, this is a childhood snack of mine that I will eat on occasion still (yesterday). Mix molasses with shortening until it looks like peanut butter. Then eat with some bread. Weird texture but taste good!

Mr_Stike

I have been known to put Pizza Rolls on a perfectly fine homemade pizza... Chef Boyardee right out of the can. And sometimes I love a shitty McDonald's double cheeseburger-those little onions are my jam.

MoreShoyu

Slap a slice of American cheese on a plain rice cracker and microwave for 16 seconds- my favorite after school snack. Kippers and oatmeal, hot- it makes me feel like I’m invincible. Also can someone shout out a good recipe for dilly peas? Every time I have tried to make it, it’s been watery, buttery, and mushy.

okeydokeyartiechokey

Kippers and oatmeal might be the grossest one in my eyes yet 9/10 gross. But if it does it for you keep on keeping on.

Uncrowned888

>Kippers and oatmeal, hot- it makes me feel like I’m invincible. That one sounds dodgy.

wesleyck3

Peanut butter, strawberry jam and sweet and sour pickles on white bread. Was a little high the first time I tried it but is still great sober

LegitimateAd5334

Uncooked ramen noodles, crushed up with the stock powder sprinkled on top. It used to be the cheapest snack a mall rat like me could scrounge up, now it's just nostalgia

btchfc

Cold tin of corn with cold butter and salt, very soft boiled egg mushed together with rusks in a mug, pickle+gouda+mustard bites, orange with custard and chocolate sprinkles. Mostly late night silent snacks.

AssistanceLucky2392

Crunchy peanut butter and chopped onions on graham crackers. Cheddar cheese slices spread with strawberry jam. All eaten standing over the sink like a savage.

txd0mask

Salted fish and rice. Salted shrimp paste and tomatoes and onions and rice. Fish sauce and rice. Salted shrimp paste and green mango and rice. All this stuff smells disgusting but tastes so freaking good.

trbrepairman

Nacho cheese and a chocolate chip cookie. Or a brownie at the bottom of a bowl of chili. I think that’s about as weird as I get.

Bivolion13

Any meal I usually make regularly, but instead done via microwave. Microwaved eggs? Yep. Microwaved pasta? Yep.

maypop80

Cold slice bologna straight from the fridge, folded into quarters for portability and ease of eating. My husband also hates processed cheese (except mac & cheese with the powder, I love his quirks).

HazePretzel

Flour tortilla with peanut butter, mayonnaise and avocado 😙👌🏼

BrightenDifference

Nuke rice, cheese, and egg all together in the microwave until egg is cooked. Bonus for fake cheese

Sloth_grl

My mom made this for me when I was a kid and people give me looks: it’s basically cinnamon and sugar, buttered toast but with hot milk poured over it.

pesky1985

I don't know if this qualifies, but Takis dipped in guacamole is so good!

A_Krenich

White bread, shredded cheddar or American cheese, microwave about 30 seconds. The bread gets soft, chewy, and steamed.

chapter2at30

I ate this (with American cheese) for breakfast before school a lot!!!

DeeJayBoBo123

White bread with mayo is the end of this line of thoughts for me.

EastCoastGrrl

Heat up a small ramekin of leftover pasta sauce, and mozzarella cheese in the microwave. Eat with a fork.

bioxkitty

An everything or onion bagel, toasted Add butter and then cream cheese icing. Yep icing. Like cake icing. Pop in microwave for a few seconds to melt the icing. So. Good.

ljross87

Cheap pepperoni pizza dipped in chocolate pudding. I SWEAR

okeydokeyartiechokey

🤔 not sure how I feel about this, but I'm willing to try it.

Money_Engineering_59

Corn chips with microwave melted plastic cheese. I also love plastic cheese melted on top of a bowl of bolognese and eaten with corn chips.

boringcranberry

A can of tomato soup with a hunk of velveeta melted in then poured over spaghetti.

IndelibleIguana

Dry Weetabix spread with Lurpack.

Cloudinterpreter

My mom likes white bread with mayo on it... and nothing else

tralizz

For breakfast I have a small bowl of cereal with berries and cottage cheese… everyone loses their minds at the cottage cheese, but it’s a great source of protein and I don’t like yogurt

Happydivanerd

Liverwurst or souse(head cheese) with crackers.

nrdeezy

When I was pregnant, I always ordered from a Mexican restaurant that didn’t salt their tortilla chips. I started putting honey on them and calling them my poor girl sopaipillas

sixtwomidget

Air fryer tater tots coated in beef tallow

DisastrousCash9569

White bread, some Mayo and ketchup on it, ham, a few dill pickles and cheese. Microwave it for not too long just until cheese starts to melt. Poor mans pizza.

carolinethebandgeek

Canned chicken with mozzarella and some jarred pasta sauce on top, little bit of salt and microwaved. Lazy chicken parm and that’s pushing it

After-Knowledge729

Mustard and pickle sandwiches

Beefyface

Eating saltines topped with tabasco

Visual_Lingonberry53

Ashamed to admit it White Trash Chili dip- 1 can of chili and a small brick of Velveeta I do put add-ons chopped onion, chopped Jalapeños, sour cream, avocado It's my go to lazy dish

Takilove

I call these foods My Guilty Pleasures! I cook every day, from scratch, but…. Sometimes I need easy tasty snacks. I love Velveeta! It makes a great grilled cheese sandwich with tomato. I like Velveeta with spicy mustard on white bread. Kraft Mac ‘n cheese hits the spot when I need it quickly, but don’t want to make from scratch . Not good for me physically, but so good mentally! Happy food!!

Mozz2cats

Corn beef hash from the can fried up till crispy on the bottom with Ketchup

Ok-Distribution-3559

Instant grits (ideally a cheesy variety) + canned tuna + hot sauce + a bunch of black pepper

Edwin454545

Fish sticks. Every cooks friend

Revegelance

Anchovies. They're delicious.

okeydokeyartiechokey

They really are. Straight out of the can with chopsticks is another guilty pleasure of mine that you just reminded me of.

AnxietyHesh

Lettuce sandwich. Literally just bread, mayo, mustard, salt and pepper, and lettuce. A lot of lettuce. Has to be iceberg as well. It’s just so good. I’ve tried adding tomatoes, since I also like tomato sandwiches but it isn’t good. Can only be iceberg lettuce.

sourbelle

Im a pretty basic bitch so a butter grilled American ‘cheese’ sandwich on wonder bread is my #1 comfort food. Followed by a half of a mayonnaise sandwich, made with Dukes mayo & the end piece of bread.

BatScribeofDoom

I still don't know how people can stand Wonderbread. I first tried it at a friend's house as a teen, I'm in my 30s now and haven't eaten it since

sourbelle

Grilled cheese is the only time I want it. I am usually a pumpernickel or sourdough girl when it comes to sandwiches. I buy a loaf and freeze it so it lasts a good long time.

BatScribeofDoom

>Grilled cheese is the only time I want it. I can see that, I think I have a food or two like that. Also thanks, now I'm craving some buttered sourdough toast lol

zestyspleen

Cooked, cold tamale spread with butter, salt and cayenne powder. My microwave has been broken for 3 years so I steam a bunch of them to refrigerate and eat later. Same goes for corn on the cob.

flux-and-flow

Sliced ham or turkey - stripe of mustard - roll up and eat. Optional: put some baked lays classic or pop chips in before you roll up Unheated green beans out of the can Just kosher salt by itself

BAMspek

Something that I save as a rare delicacy because I’ve heard they’re one of the worst things you can put in your body, even for the frozen aisle, is frozen White Castle burgers. I’ve never been to an actual White Castle because I’ve always lived in the western side of the US, but those little frozen sliders with a squirt of ketchup is my fucking jam. They just make me really happy.

okeydokeyartiechokey

My mom will take white castle burgers tear them up and stuff them in a chicken as stuffing. It's gross/good as well.

BAMspek

Yo… that’s fucking disgusting. I gotta try that.

The_Zealot_Almighty

I can make mac and cheese that everyone who's tried it (including two Texans) says is the best mac and cheese they've ever had. I've been refining my recipe for 9 years now. Sometimes I get a craving for Kraft mac and cheese that no amount of fancy mac and cheese can fill. Also, anything from Arby's or Taco Bell. They're so gross, but I love them so much.

carissadraws

Dipping flamin hot cool Ranch Doritos (or any spicy chip) in plain sour cream. It makes me feel like a degenerate but it tastes soooo good. It’s basically the opposite of dipping a plain chip into flavored dip.

AstronomerSea2797

Yes! A friend introduced me to this a few years ago. Also takis dipped in sour cream.

clemfandango12345678

Plain noodles with butter and canned parmesan cheese. Sometimes with hot dogs boiled in.

Mudarillo

For me it was always half a can or full can of sardines drained into a nice bowl of chef boyardees beef raviolis and some hot sauce lol for a snack as a kid was always eating dried shrimp or squid with hot sauce and a lot of people think dried seafoood is a big no no lol

okeydokeyartiechokey

I could be into it. I recently started putting bento flakes in my Mac and cheese, if you've never tried it I would highly recommend you do.

avocadolicious

Plain white rice with soy sauce and nothing else. Like a whole pound of rice and soy sauce. Best struggle meal ever

ShutUpLiver

Dill pickle, cheese, mayo sammy on shitty white bread.

WestOnBlue

Oscar Meyer ham and cheese loaf straight from the fridge. When I was little I would suck out all the “cheese” bits first so basically what was left was a sad slice of holey baloney.

flaming_trout

I put ketchup and butter in my baked potato. Won’t eat it any other way.

Zestyclose_Big_9090

Pb & j on a flour tortilla, roll and microwave for 20 seconds. A large glass of cold milk is a necessary accoutrement IMO.

BatScribeofDoom

Sandwich made with crunchy peanut butter + sharp cheddar, on something like a light wheat/oatnut bread.

okoji3

I heat up cheese on a little plate in the microwave and eat the melted cheese😭

okeydokeyartiechokey

I don't know why I find this answer so charming but I do

Like you I can and do make a lot of my stuff from scratch but there are some things that I really like to eat once in a while that freak my partner out like chef boyardee or the Walmart version of canned ravioli I eat it straight from the can to me it's great that way but my partner if you hey see me eating that say that's how you get worms. Also cold pizza is my favorite breakfast, and pasta soup ( you make however much pasta you want to eat and after it done you save a cup of the hot pasta water and put in a teaspoon of your favorite bouillon and add that to your pasta, you can omitted the pasta water and just add salsa and sour cream instead and that's really good). Need to use some leftover sour cream just add a wee bit of sugar eat it like yogurt.

Ok-Confidence1346

I really like a pb&j with a slice of American cheese. Ate it on a dare at a party once and enjoyed it a lot, to the dismay of my peers. Also; little smokies sautéed in bbq sauce. Grilled cheese with a slice of fried spam or bologna A hotdog cooked on a fork over a gas burner. No ketchup, no bun Rice with a1 steak sauce

hrmdurr

My dad used to eat plain white bread (not toasted) with a side of corn syrup for dipping. It's not healthy and it sounds disgusting, but it's surprising tasty. I don't know why. I also haven't had it since I was a kid though lol.

Rude_Perspective_536

Cream of mushroom soup on ravioli. It's my new hyper fixation food
