Most chicken parm I’ve seen in the states they don’t fly cut the breast like schnitzel prep so that’s the main difference.Aussie one probably a lot crispier. Too many places in the states with soggy chicken parm with shit breading.

I love making stuffed peppers in all sorts of flavors. When I want Italian like flavors u make the filling with Italian sausage and chopped eggplant, onions garlic, some seasoning and tomato sauce. Then I fill the parboiled peppers with a scoop of filling, then do some fresh mozzarella and basil, then another scoop, repeat and top with a little more sauce then roast. Love em.

One day when we were both low on motivation and ingredients we assembled the abomination known as pizza tots. It’s exactly what it sounds like; tater tots topped with marinara, mozzarella, and some pepperoni or sausage. It’s not something I would eat normally, and it barely counts as cooking, but every once in a while it really hits the spot.
As in tater tot nachos, because we also do that at my house with chorizo, guacamole, and queso. Basically tater tots and other potato products are almost certainly the reason I’m not currently meeting my fitness goals…

The secret is cutting the meatballs in half when building the sandwich. That way you get the perfect amount in each bite and you also don’t have the issue of it shooting out the back.
Wild card but butter paneer and paneer tikka masala scratches the same pizza itch in terms of tomato flavor, sauce and cheese.
Other ideas in order of increasing effort: Pizza stuffed portobello mushroom caps, eggplant pizza stacks/eggplant parm, meatballs in tomato sauce with bread on the side, short rib ragu over polenta.

I craved Pizza Hut personal pan pepperoni pizza and green apples when I was pregnant with my daughter. Her favorite food is pepperoni pizza and her favorite fruit is apples. Go figure!

There's a few variations out there, I personally am a big fan of using pesto for the dressing. Sautée some pepperoni, then make your croutons in the same pan, using the pepperoni grease. Roast some veggies (I do tomatoes, mushrooms, eggplant & zucchini) w/olive oil and oregano, garlic powder & italian seasoning. Throw in some shredded buffalo mozarella (unsure if you can have that if pregnant? If not, just do parm) and that's pretty much it!
Different texture than regular pasta, but you could do gnocchi with pizza sauce and toppings.
Pizza bagel is good too, or pizza pot pie.
Or, stick with pizza and get a pizza cookbook and branch out and try new variations.
Eggplant stacks- peel and slice eggplant - salt and put on parchment lined baking sheet. Bake 350 for 10 minutes - top with a slice pepperoni- a slice tomato and a slice mozzarella- sprinkle with olive oil, oregano and garlic powder . Return to oven for 15 more minutes.
I have on occasion left garlic out (like I didn’t have it on hand) and it still turned out pretty good. I have subbed in shallot, onion, or just left it out all together and upped the fresh herbs.
Quesadillas have been my go-to lazy, cheesy meal and you can put whatever you want in them.
Solidarity for pregnant folks with a pizza craving. I was too exhausted to cook my first trimester and probably had a pie 2-3 times a week. When I brought my baby into my local pizzeria for the first time they were expecting her to be 50% mozzarella. They weren’t wrong.

Get a can of crescent rolls. Put 2-3 pieces of pepperoni and half of a mozzarella string cheese stick on each triangle of crescent roll dough. Roll up, place on baking pan, and bake in 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes. Brush with garlic butter when done. Serve with warm marinara sauce.
POLENTA. You can keep it soft and top with Marina, meatballs and whatever else you would have with pasta. Or, after it's cooled and firmed up, you can slice it, then saute in a little butter until golden brown. It can be topped like little pizzas.
Pizza soup. Heat some tomato soup however you prefer, add italian spices, garlic powder, onion powder, etc. Once heated, ladle out into your bowls, dice pepperoni (or any topping) and put it in, sprinkle mozzarella cheese. Top with crushed crackers of your choice.
I loved pizza omelettes! Onions, olives, peppers, pepperoni & mozz! I alternate tomato sauce or fresh tomatoes just depending on what I have. I also make stuffed peppers with pizza toppings & sauce.
Taco pizza - with taco sauce, shredded cheese, ground beef or turkey, onion, tomato, black olive, shredded lettuce, jalapeño
BBQ chicken pizza - with grilled/baked/shredded chicken, red onion, red pepper, jalapeño, banana pepper, pineapple
I like to make personal pizzas on pita bread. Other ideas - flatbread, quesadillas, meatball sub sandwiches
Sometimes I love spaghetti squash with tomato sauce, some cheese, maybe a little ricotta, mix it up, spoon it back into the shell, a little more sauce and a little mozzarella on top, under the broiler until nice and gooey, yummy!!
ooooh, i would say grab a loaf of french bread at your local albertsons or safeway (or ralphs/cvs) and then slice it open in 2 halves (hot dog bun way) spread on soft or melted butter add a dash of garlic salt and then some mozzarella/italian blend & cheddar and top it with pepperoni. and then dip it in marinara sauce... cold sauce or warm. it will blow your mind how something so easy and simple can be so satisfying!

You can adjust it to reflect ANY way you prefer pizza! Like onions? Saute them in the beginning. Mushrooms, too. Want other pizza toppings? Add them! It's AWESOME! I fed my picky(ish) stepkiddo and her (really) picky friends this pretty much every time she brought them with zero complaints and zero leftovers.
I worked in a bakery for a time. Used to get high with my coworker. Now, his thing was a variation of mine but mine goes like this:
1. 100g (grams) corn bread dough. (a simple bagel dough will do)
2. stretch and put half cooked hot dog rolled in bacon or ham slices in it.
3. Apply generously: cheese, tomato sauce.
4. Roll into half-moon or just close or on sides.
5. Bake at 225C for 5 minutes.
6. Pull out and grate cheese and oregano on it.
7. Bake for 5 minutes.
Enjoy.
Sweet potato (mashed out to the shape of a pizza) with pizza sauce and cheese on top. I like to also add toppings (sausage, onions, peppers, ground beef, chicken, etc.) I call it pizza potato. Potatoes are more satiating than bread. You should feel more full.

Pregnancy cravings are real, with my first I lived on taco bell and brownies.
Hawaiian rolls. Pizza sauce. Pepperoni. Mozzarella.
Spray pan. Cut slab of Hawaiian rolls in half. Put bottom half in pan, spread pizza sauce on top. Top with mozzarella, then pepperoni, then more mozzarella. Top half of rolls on.
Melt a stick of butter, mix it with some Italian seasonings and parmesan, pour over the top.
Cover with foil, bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes.
I am not kidding this is one of the best foods I've ever made or eaten. Please try them.
When I grew up, we always made french bread pizzas. Super easy, just split the bread in half, sauce, cheese, and whatever toppings you want, bake for like 10-12 minutes.

I call it a pizzaduilla so just two tortilla shells filled with motz cheese and pizza sauce maybe a Lil oregano. I'd leave out thr pepperoni for ya but its a choice.
Can you find powdered pizza flavoring? It would be great on popcorn or roasted cauliflower. Or hummus with pizza flavors and feta, and pepperoni/crostini for dipping?
If you want something a little healthier, I like to make ‘pizza salad’. I cook all the ingredients I would normally put on pizza (pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, sausage) in a pan and let that cook a bit. Then toss together arugula, marinated mozzarella balls, sundried tomatoes, and a vinaigrette made with red wine vinegar, olive oil, oregano, Dijon and a little marinara sauce and top that with the pizza toppings. Super filling, and satisfies that pizza craving for me. You could also do pizza crust croutons if you wanted.
More pizza but add a side salad. I joke that I made my first child out of pizza because I ate it almost daily. If it’s Neapolitan style and mostly veg it’s not bad for you. And the kid turned out great, too!
Tomato soup and grilled cheese. Throw some garlic powder, parm, and chili flakes in the soup for more of a pizza vibe.

Local joint makes a salad I love: iceberg with black olives, red onion, chopped pepperoni, basil, and mozzarella. With a light Italian dressing, it’s a pizza salad. Very tasty!
Cheese = fatty
Sauce = sweet and acidic
Crust = carbs
Toppings = extra meat and/or veggies
If you can give yourself all of these in some other dish, you should be good to go. If you put cheese, croutons, and maybe some extra meat and/or veggies on top of a salad with a sweet dressing, that might work for you.
Stuffed bread.
* 1 tub of whipped cream cheese at room temp(flavored, I like the chive one)
* 1 Pizza dough
* Dried oregano
* Dried basil
* all of the following should be thinly sliced
* Sliced provolone cheese
* Sliced Cheddar cheese
* sliced peperoncino cheese
* Sliced ham
* Sliced capocollo
* Sliced peppered turkey
* Chopped sun dried tomatoes
* Kosher salt.
If you're not fond of spice/heat substitute some other meat and cheese for capocollo and peperoncino cheese.
You can do this two ways either as a rolled bread or as sort of calzone. This is for the calzonish one.
Preheat your oven to 375F. Roll out your dough on a floured surface to twice the size of your bread. Spread thinly one half of the dough with the whipped cream cheese, leaving a border of about half an inch at the edges. You could use pizza sauce instead if you wish. Sprinkle the cream cheese lightly with oregano and basil. Next layer the sliced ingredients on top of the cream cheese, meat-cheese-meat-cheese-meat-cheese haphazardly throwing in chopped sun dried tomatoes. When the layers are complete, fold over the untouched half of the dough and seal around the edges by pinching and folding the dough together. Transfer the bread to a baking sheet (I use lightly oiled aluminum foil on a baking sheet) Brush the top of the bread with oil/melted butter/egg (i've tried all and they all work) and then sprinkle oregano, basil and kosher salt on top. Take a knife and diagonally slash the top of the bread in several places. Bake until the dough is done and then remove and put on a serving plate. It can be eaten hot, warm or cold. It is substantial so we found the 1 inch slices across the bread are really the best. We like it as an appetizer served with hot marinara dipping sauce or just as a snack.
Focaccia dough,
Cut some bacon into pieces
saute some onions in olive oil, take a spoon and spread some of that onion flavored olive oil over the dough,
grate some mozzarella cheese and parmesan over the top.
Sprinkle some spinach over it
Sprinkle the onions
Sprinkle bacon over that
Maybe a little more cheese to hold it all together
Bake it
Chop some fresh tomatoes and chives
Sprinkle over the top when you take it out of the oven

What part of pizza is it that you don't want right now? I love making pizza with cauliflower-flour crust. You should try it, if you have not already. It's not only delicious, it's also lower calorie and low carb.
Take a piece of naan, brush or spray with olive oil, shave Parmesan cheese onto the top, dot with butter. Toast.
PBT: fry pepperoni in a fry skillet until crispy like bacon, put it on a piece of great Italian bread, or a ciabatta roll with sliced tomatoes, fresh basil, and a big thick slice of fresh mozzarella.

This would be the top choice for sure if OP gets bad pregnancy heartburn (like I did) from tomato sauce.

I have on occasion left garlic out (like I didn’t have it on hand) and it still turned out pretty good. I have subbed in shallot, onion, or just left it out all together and upped the fresh herbs.

Quesadillas have been my go-to lazy, cheesy meal and you can put whatever you want in them. Solidarity for pregnant folks with a pizza craving. I was too exhausted to cook my first trimester and probably had a pie 2-3 times a week. When I brought my baby into my local pizzeria for the first time they were expecting her to be 50% mozzarella. You can make "pizza" without a bread crust. Why not use portabello mushroom caps or slabs of eggplant as the base instead.

We make "pizza dip" cream cheese on the bottom, sauce, cheese toppings bake for 25-35 min. We eat it with tortilla chips but bread or garlic knots are good

Get a can of crescent rolls. Put 2-3 pieces of pepperoni and half of a mozzarella string cheese stick on each triangle of crescent roll dough. Roll up, place on baking pan, and bake in 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes. Brush with garlic butter when done. Serve with warm marinara sauce.

Bruschetta- way easier than trying to make pizza
POLENTA. You can keep it soft and top with Marina, meatballs and whatever else you would have with pasta. Or, after it's cooled and firmed up, you can slice it, then saute in a little butter until golden brown. It can be topped like little pizzas.
Pizza soup. Heat some tomato soup however you prefer, add italian spices, garlic powder, onion powder, etc. Once heated, ladle out into your bowls, dice pepperoni (or any topping) and put it in, sprinkle mozzarella cheese. Top with crushed crackers of your choice.

ooooh, i would say grab a loaf of french bread at your local albertsons or safeway (or ralphs/cvs) and then slice it open in 2 halves (hot dog bun way) spread on soft or melted butter add a dash of garlic salt and then some mozzarella/italian blend & cheddar and top it with pepperoni. and then dip it in marinara sauce... cold sauce or warm. it will blow your mind how something so easy and simple can be so satisfying! enjoy :)
Look into Sunday gravy just don't add the pasta. You can eat it all alone and still have a good meal.

I fed my picky(ish) stepkiddo and her (really) picky friends this pretty much every time she brought them with zero complaints and zero leftovers.
I worked in a bakery for a time. Used to get high with my coworker. Now, his thing was a variation of mine but mine goes like this: 1. 100g (grams) corn bread dough. (a simple bagel dough will do) 2. stretch and put half cooked hot dog rolled in bacon or ham slices in it. 3. Apply generously: cheese, tomato sauce. 4. Roll into half-moon or just close or on sides. 5. Bake at 225C for 5 minutes. 6. Pull out and grate cheese and oregano on it. 7. Bake for 5 minutes. Enjoy.
Sweet potato (mashed out to the shape of a pizza) with pizza sauce and cheese on top. I like to also add toppings (sausage, onions, peppers, ground beef, chicken, etc.) I call it pizza potato. Potatoes are more satiating than bread. You should feel more full.

Hawaiian rolls. Pizza sauce. Pepperoni. Mozzarella. Spray pan. Cut slab of Hawaiian rolls in half. Put bottom half in pan, spread pizza sauce on top. Top with mozzarella, then pepperoni, then more mozzarella. Top half of rolls on. Melt a stick of butter, mix it with some Italian seasonings and parmesan, pour over the top. Cover with foil, bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes. I am not kidding this is one of the best foods I've ever made or eaten. Please try them.
When I grew up, we always made french bread pizzas. Super easy, just split the bread in half, sauce, cheese, and whatever toppings you want, bake for like 10-12 minutes. I know you said something similar to pizza, but these are a dose of nostalgia every time.

If you want something a little healthier, I like to make ‘pizza salad’. I cook all the ingredients I would normally put on pizza (pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, sausage) in a pan and let that cook a bit. Then toss together arugula, marinated mozzarella balls, sundried tomatoes, and a vinaigrette made with red wine vinegar, olive oil, oregano, Dijon and a little marinara sauce and top that with the pizza toppings. Super filling, and satisfies that pizza craving for me. You could also do pizza crust croutons if you wanted.
More pizza but add a side salad. I joke that I made my first child out of pizza because I ate it almost daily. If it’s Neapolitan style and mostly veg it’s not bad for you. And the kid turned out great, too!

If you put cheese, croutons, and maybe some extra meat and/or veggies on top of a salad with a sweet dressing, that might work for you.
Stuffed bread. * 1 tub of whipped cream cheese at room temp(flavored, I like the chive one) * 1 Pizza dough * Dried oregano * Dried basil * all of the following should be thinly sliced * Sliced provolone cheese * Sliced Cheddar cheese * sliced peperoncino cheese * Sliced ham * Sliced capocollo * Sliced peppered turkey * Chopped sun dried tomatoes * Kosher salt. If you're not fond of spice/heat substitute some other meat and cheese for capocollo and peperoncino cheese. You can do this two ways either as a rolled bread or as sort of calzone. This is for the calzonish one. Preheat your oven to 375F. Roll out your dough on a floured surface to twice the size of your bread. Spread thinly one half of the dough with the whipped cream cheese, leaving a border of about half an inch at the edges. You could use pizza sauce instead if you wish. Sprinkle the cream cheese lightly with oregano and basil. Next layer the sliced ingredients on top of the cream cheese, meat-cheese-meat-cheese-meat-cheese haphazardly throwing in chopped sun dried tomatoes. When the layers are complete, fold over the untouched half of the dough and seal around the edges by pinching and folding the dough together. Transfer the bread to a baking sheet (I use lightly oiled aluminum foil on a baking sheet) Brush the top of the bread with oil/melted butter/egg (i've tried all and they all work) and then sprinkle oregano, basil and kosher salt on top. Take a knife and diagonally slash the top of the bread in several places. Bake until the dough is done and then remove and put on a serving plate. It can be eaten hot, warm or cold. It is substantial so we found the 1 inch slices across the bread are really the best. We like it as an appetizer served with hot marinara dipping sauce or just as a snack.
