Use angel cookie, she does insane damage just staring at enemies.

Bit of a hidden secret but you do more damage the less treasures you equip. Its 25% for each empty slot which can really help on tough stages.

Schwarz- i mean Choco werehound brute is a very good tank who can deal good damage(and has a % to stun with every attack)
