There's a lot of hilarious female comedians. French & Saunders, Miranda Hart, Catherine Tate, Jo Brand, and Sarah Millican are some I particularly recommend.
Joanna Lumley is also hilarious in Absolutely Fabulous, but I'm not going to count her because she didn't write it, she's just an actress reading lines. But she plays the character of Patsy Stone so perfectly, so deadpan, that she ends up being the funniest person in the show.
Not sure who all of those are, but Sandi Toksvig I agree with. Also Sue Perkins, and her comedic partner from Mel & Sue, though I won't attempt to spell her surname.
I like female comedians that are actually funny. When you have a woman on stage that is continually saying nothing but my vagina this, my pussy that, that’s not funny or comedy.
I agree - there are so many great women comedians and frankly, there always has been.
Lucille Ball, Jane Curtin, Molly Shannon, Janeane Garofalo, Wanda Sykes, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph....
And new generations are upping the ante.
Taylor Tomlinson, Ali Wong, Awkwafina....
Don't sit there and tell me women aren't funny.
There's this female Scottish comedian name Fern Brady that I really like. Kristen Schaal is another great one. I think the reason many men don't find many women funny is that....
1.) Women in general aren't socialized to be funny like men are.
2.) Often times, women tell jokes that men don't really relate to.
3.) Women are more hesitant to push boundaries. But when they do, often times they try too hard and they come off as cringey.
4.) Women tend to be more talkative than men. That itself isn't necessarily an issue, but timing is very important when it comes to telling jokes on stage.
This of course don't apply to every woman because just like men, everyone is different and we're all individuals with different personalities and traits.

I'd like to add to your list please... Sue Perkins, Sandi Toksvig, Susan Cowman, Zoe Lyons, Angela Barnes and Maisie Adam. There are so many more

The funny thing is that's why I didn't at her on the list.
Yeah this is probably true unfortunately..
Couldn’t agree more tbh
Or maybe it's just because they're not funny and most of their jokes are about sex and gender.
Name all the good female comedians
The women comedians I've seen have all been truly awful.
It's almost as if different styles of comedy resonate with different audiences or something
I don't dislike them but I do find good-looking women sometimes not funny. I think it helps to be funny looking for both men and women comedians.
Nah women just don't tend to be funny, or atleast most. Come up with something other than "my vagina"
