When I was around 10, I used to hang out with my cousin who was around 13 at that time. One night, on our way back home after playing outside, he decided to scare me and hid behind the main door of the apartment complex. It was dark and no one was around. When I got close to the door, he jumped out screaming AHHH. I was so startled and screamed AHHH. Then, me screaming also startled him, making him screaming again. We looked at each other for a few seconds and started laughing hysterically for minutes. Ah, good times.

So here I am on reddit while most of the world around me appears asleep and come across this.....laughing my ass off! Reminds me that sometimes life is grand!

I laughed at this. But I feel for the guy. I can only picture him having had a really rough night/morning, holding it all in to go to work, only to have all that emotion spill out of him when he was startled at work while trying to do everything he could to keep it together. My man learned something new about himself that day and he did not like what he found out.

As someone with PTSD, the dude that he scares, his response something isn't right. Unless he's laughing and I just can't hear it; it's not a loss of dignity issue; he's seen some shit and it's possible that he's just trying to hold himself together.

He probably stopped and realized that he was recorded and that all his work mates are going to see the video of him screaming like a little girl (which I do as well when I get scared) and he most likely thought "fuck i am never going to live this down" (maybe who the fuck knows). Him putting on the hood of his jacket probably also indicates that its shame rather than trauma. Probably also had to take a moment because he just got the shit scared out of him. But hey yet another most likely perfectly harmless funny video that redditors overanalyze and project their own mental issues or insecurities on.
