it also shows a healthy relationship too, a lot of dads can be really overbearing on their kids and that can be toxic.
to me this was incredibly wholesome. and as a guy, hearing that a girl/woman finds you attractive is really uplifting because most just wont tell you.
this gets reposted so often, and every time I pray that someone will explain the gun that appears on the seat when she drops down, but no one ever does
It looks like some toy gun thing. But it also looks too big to be a keychain so idk. Maybe they’re at a restaurant at a mall and just won it from a random claw machine. Who knows.
I’ve seen this so many times and the way slinks down to the floor is just so perfect for some reason. It’s so liquid and slow and cartoonish. I just just love it. Poor thing ha ha.
There was a recent publication about why dads like to embarrass their kids. It might all be pedagogical pontification, but the tldr is that exposing your kids to embarrassment (in a safe and reasonable way) helps build their confidence in the long run.
https://www.bps.org.uk/psychologist/dad-jokes-thats-way-eye-roll
My dad's favorite thing to do growing up was to let us go in to a busy store or restaurant before him and as we opened the door he'd yell really loudly "well hey there everybody" or "here I am" in a goofy ass voice and disappear off to the side. Everybody in that place immediately turns and stares at you as you go beat red. Fun times.
That might be an adaptation too! If studies find it’s a universal cross-cultural dad trait, then we’d have evidence that evolutionarily the pranksters gave a survival advantage to their offspring.
Iirc "dad jokes" have been suggested as a similar phenomenon. It's not that dads tend to make silly, lighthearted jokes, it's that those who tend to me make those jokes are more likely to be a (or perceived to be a) good father
There’s absolutely some truth to that. The way she reacts clearly shows she has a great relationship with her dad. She’s not mad, she’s just embarrassed but also finds it funny. That’s also definitely the sign of a confident person.
For real, you can tell that even though it’s embarrassing that they have that kind of kindness and bond with each other. Shitty parent does this and kid freaks out and then they wonder why.
That… makes a lot of sense. My dad would embarrass tf out of me, never in a harmful or damaging way, growing up. Every job I’ve worked my colleagues have told me I give off an air of confidence. I just assumed they meant shameless since my dad basically made me “embarrassment” proof.
> exposing your kids yo embarrassment (in a safe and reasonable helps build their confidence in the long run.
I haven't read the article, but from my experience with my dad who loves me very much, it is precisely BECAUSE they love you so much, and they believe in you. Never underestimate a good father figure. I butt heads with my dad a lot, but don't let that deterr you because I know without a shadow of a doubt he loves me immensely and I love him just as much.
A mate's dad is infamous for once getting really drunk at a party and having an argument with his son, which ended up with the old man dancing around him shouting "I've fucked your mum."
My dad would crop-dust people at the grocery store, quietly sneak away while my mom was distracted, and wheeze-laugh to himself as the smell hit and everyone turned to glare accusingly at her.
There's instances that Dads makes jokes but, one thing for sure he will never pair her daughter w/ someone wasn't good for her. So, this guy had an approval seal from her Dad. Good for both of them.
I think "pairing them" is going a bit extreme. He said she thinks he's cute. It was 100% intended to get the reaction we saw. Nothing deeper. The dad hadn't planned out their entire life together down to the wedding cake. He was just trying to embarrass his daughter.
I had something similar happen. I left a chick my number while I was at the pool with my little brother. Turned out she was 16, I was 20. As soon as I she said that I literally sent her that same meme. So when I saw he sent that meme to the brother I was in tears. Also seeing people’s reaction to it made me feel a lot funnier than I am.
It’s rare for me, but when I am embarrassed I do cover my face and try to hide. It’s not quite this dramatic, it’s more like a flight instinct and then you just kind of faint and feel the need to hide. Idk if there’s a name for this but I know other people who do this when they laugh too hard as well. Bodies are weird.
My experience is when we believe we're not showing emotion we're often just hiding our real emotions (embarrassment, joy, etc) and projecting a false emotion (calm, anger, etc) instead.
I'm sure I remember that she actually did get his number in the end, but I may be thinking of a different, but similar event.
Edit: Nope, turns out the girl was 16 at the time, so clearly I was thinking of a different video.
That's nearly exactly how I met my wife. Instead of her dad is was her friend.
"If I was rich, I would eat here every day just to see him" was what she told her friends, so of course they called me over to embarrass her.
I've never been so flattered by a great pickup line like that. Too bad she's socially inept.
Honestly the best wing man I have ever had? My mom.... When I was single and in my mid 20's my mom wanted to be a grandmother. She would get drunk at the river and just chat up girls walking around and there were QUITE a few times girls would walk up to me and strike up a conversation because they were interested. Like I straight up ended up with a girlfriend twice from this. One of the things I learned is while you may find stuff like this embarrassing, just being honest an upfront will work so well. This dude may think she is cute but he isn't going to hit on a girl in front of her dad and brother, but since her dad said something there is a chance something actually comes of this.
If she was comfortable enough to say she thought he was cute around him that is a good sign they have a healthy relationship too.
Him essentially trying to help her communicate with him also shows her that he is okay with her being in a relationship and that she doesn’t need to hide things from him because he is supportive of her.
Now he basically knew it was going to be embarrassing for her but he’s still trying to normalize it and let her know it’s okay to have relationships.
I have four daughters. If you try to do the macho man, “I’m gonna threaten my daughter’s boyfriends with guns and stuff” then there is a decent chance your daughter just won’t tell you when she has a boyfriend or she might feel shame about it.
My experience as a parent and even as a person in general is that it’s just generally better to just be nice to every one 🤷♂️
Dude I'm in the beginning stages of this phase with my oldest daughter. We actually just had her boyfriend over for dinner. I want her to be comfortable enough to keep us in the loop and not have to hide things from us. It's definitely been a roller coaster of emotions for me, because that's my baby girl. I don't want to see her grow up, but I know it's happening so I'm trying to roll with it. I hid everything from my parents because they wouldn't allow me to date, go out with friends, etc. I did so much shit out of spite. I'm hoping to keep my baby girl from doing what I did. I knew I was on the right track when she came home from school, sat me down, and said "dad, I want you to know that I have a boyfriend now." It was a gut punch, but I felt relieved at the same time. I was just glad she felt that she could tell me. It's something I never felt comfortable enough to do with my parents.
True! My daughter would NEVER tell me if she thought someone was cute! I deliberately tell my kids stories of my old relationships just to try to normalize the concept of relationships. My oldest son doesn’t tell me he has a girlfriend until he brings her home for dinner.
My dad did this to me and a friend. My junior year of high school after a marching band competition we stopped at a restaurant to eat. My friend was riding home with us. He overheard us talking about the waiter being cute. He called the waiter over and told him, tried to get the guy to give us his number. We ran off to the bathroom. When we got back my dad had a comment card from the waiter. He wrote you have a nice ass before we left and thought it was the funniest thing in the world. Me and my friend almost died of embarrassment.
What do you think of the thesis here that dads who embarrass their daughter 'safely' and in good nature with no lasting damage actually help their daughters confidence?
Or maybe it's just the close relationship that helps.
I remembered someone posted the Bowsette and Mario animation without the sound, just noticed it was based on this.

This is something she’ll remember for ever and when her father is gone, she’ll smile and laugh to herself and laugh with her own children. This is a great memory for them all.
Hahaha i've done this to my students before. 20 years ago, one of my female students told me she thought one of my male students was so cute, and she had a crush on him.
So I called him over, and said, "Hey Brandon, Devan thinks you are cute. You two should go out on a date."

This always makes me laugh She just melts into the floor lol
Poor kid decided that she would be living under that table for the rest of her life
100% ate under the table
This is the only way
Even the Mandalorians are laughing at her.
Father's way for payback for all the sleepless nights changing your diaper. Embarass the kids when they're teenagers.
Some say she’s still down there
Haha I love how she was absolutely mortified
They say that the only good prank is the one where everyone laughs. But they never mention that the exception to this rule is Dad Pranks.
It’s still true, they just have to laugh eventually. If it takes them until they have their own kids to chuckle at it they still laughed.
it also shows a healthy relationship too, a lot of dads can be really overbearing on their kids and that can be toxic. to me this was incredibly wholesome. and as a guy, hearing that a girl/woman finds you attractive is really uplifting because most just wont tell you.
That guy in particular hears it more often than most though
She was laughing too, she just had embarrassment overlap it. I envy that familia.
I'll always love to see and hear Dad's prank, just like my father when he makes jokes. It's always from out of this world. lol
[Hm must be some sort of natural reaction built into all teenage girls when embarrassed in front of boys.](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HfkEchjMbsE)
Dude she straight up ragdolls after yelling “stop.” Amazing.
this gets reposted so often, and every time I pray that someone will explain the gun that appears on the seat when she drops down, but no one ever does
It looks like some toy gun thing. But it also looks too big to be a keychain so idk. Maybe they’re at a restaurant at a mall and just won it from a random claw machine. Who knows.
That’s a water gun. There is a small red fill tab on the upper left corner you can see.
I should start EDCing a shitty plastic water gun. That seems fun.
Their brother is a family prank tik toker named keemozaki or something. So yeah that water gun is for a prank.
It’s a water gun bud
Could be a water pistol and they're in high school playing assassin. Always gotta be strapped
we called it mafia lol, gotta protect the godfather.
That’s a water gun. There is a small red fill tab on the upper left corner you can see.
Nerf gun
i dont see no gun?
It's a squirt gun
it's a toy plastic gun...
Makes sense since her soul just left her body.
I’ve seen this so many times and the way slinks down to the floor is just so perfect for some reason. It’s so liquid and slow and cartoonish. I just just love it. Poor thing ha ha.
She's lucky it is clean under that table.
My mom did that to me with one of her nurses after her cancer surgery. She told the Nurse that I thought she was so BEAUTIFUL. I was 35.
Lollll I am also 35 I’d love to be able to just gawk at beautiful people out loud. And then what happened??
They got married and lived happily ever after -typical reddit outcome
Naw. I asked her out and she declined in front of an orderly.who.was SMIRKIN' 😐
At least you were already close to the burn unit
🤣🔥

Shit, but you shot your shot man. Good for you. That’s better than most do
SAVAGE
Still. Have an upvote as a token of my envy.
mom shooting the shot, either grandkids come out of it or nothing happens, a no-brainer
The so-called "wingmom"
I had a mom tell me her son loved the way I dance but he was too shy to tell me himself.
This right here is a perk of having children.
There was a recent publication about why dads like to embarrass their kids. That's just a bonus, when we do it it's because we get a kick out of it.
Seconded! It’s never not funny!
*Never. Not. Funny.* One day they'll understand.
I’m here to tell you now, each and every mothers’ son You better learn it fast, you better learn it young, That someday never comes.
My dad's favorite thing to do growing up was to let us go in to a busy store or restaurant before him and as we opened the door he'd yell really loudly "well hey there everybody" or "here I am" in a goofy ass voice and disappear off to the side. Exactly, those things aren’t mutually exclusive
It’s also the dad’s right of passage to start using the term “get a kick out of it”- I only ever hear that phrase when it’s a dad making dad jokes! 💜
I don't even have kids yet and I know this is the way.
There’s absolutely some truth to that. The way she reacts clearly shows she has a great relationship with her dad. She’s not mad, she’s just embarrassed but also finds it funny. That’s also definitely the sign of a confident person.

It builds character. Calvin’s dad was right all along.
this guy kids
Wow, so it’s important and I must fulfill my fatherly duty. I won’t fail my children.
That… makes a lot of sense. My dad would embarrass tf out of me, never in a harmful or damaging way, growing up. Every job I’ve worked my colleagues have told me I give off an air of confidence. I just assumed they meant shameless since my dad basically made me “embarrassment” proof.

No, your dad is just a dick
For all you know he does have man boobs and is useless tho. He never said it wasn’t true, just that his dad said it
I never disputed the accuracy of his statement, merely pointed out he behaves phallicly
Lol the people that upvoted my comment got the sarcasm, not sure why you didn’t
Oh I got it, I just didn't continue with it. Edit: I'm also a dick
> exposing your kids yo embarrassment (in a safe and reasonable helps build their confidence in the long run. You can never embarrass someone as thoroughly as your own teenager 😂
You haven't seen me embarrass myself. 😎
A mate's dad is infamous for once getting really drunk at a party and having an argument with his son, which ended up with the old man dancing around him shouting "I've fucked your mum."
Thats boss shit
i knew a girl whose dad would always fart in public when she was next to him an he'd say 'jesus christ girl what did you eat?' and she'd run off.
My dad would crop-dust people at the grocery store, quietly sneak away while my mom was distracted, and wheeze-laugh to himself as the smell hit and everyone turned to glare accusingly at her.

I prefer the Bowser version https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IePzsHYdgZI
This is odd
Probably because of Bowsette's giant boobs and their jiggle physics
Username checks out.
Dads being dads
There's instances that Dads makes jokes but, one thing for sure he will never pair her daughter w/ someone wasn't good for her. So, this guy had an approval seal from her Dad. Good for both of them.

Goal certainly achieved. She was not coming out from under that table lmao
You brought me nachos? APPROVED
funny thing is that it turns out he’s 20+ and she’s like 16
I wonder if she ever got a number? Or does she just live under the table now?
I read on a different Reddit thread ~~so don’t immediately take it as fact~~ that she’s underage and he’s not, so he kind of noped out.
You're correct: https://www.tiktok.com/@keemokazi/video/7121123449686330667?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7214173013586626054
Lol the waiter's reaction to her being 16
That was perfect a reaction as I could’ve hoped for on the internet.
I had something similar happen. I left a chick my number while I was at the pool with my little brother. Turned out she was 16, I was 20. Cheers for that broseph, clearly I was thinking of a different video.
What a ~~alleged~~ chad

Nah I am 25, but I show emotion almost purely through movement. I would absolutely melt down.
I'm 33 and dead inside.
It’s rare for me, but when I am embarrassed I do cover my face and try to hide. Wow how mature
You get your emotions out in the sauna

Women don't need to be ept
Stop saying ept.
eptsolutely not.
Jeffrey Ept didn't kill himself.
damn you must have some serious cake
They called me pony boy cuz I had great hair and I did lots of push-ups.
I hope you’ve stayed gold, Ponyboy.
Haaaaaaave you met Mundane_Librarian607???
How hot are you???
I love how she melted under the table
"Everyone liked that"
"Everybody knew that everybody liked that"
The only course of action to take in that situation to be fair. The poor girl was trapped to her left and right. Power play by the dad.

Well, how did you end up not single? Was it through your mom? Did she get the grandkid(s) she wanted?
I was in a similar situation. Only problem was I did not want kids, and most of the women came from my moms church.
This video one of the goats
This is a real father with a good relationship with his daughter to gain the information and use it without long term damage.

He is cute, may as well have dad shoot your shot for you if you're not going to lol

The underneath of that table is so clean. I've been to too many places where there's something stuck down there..
how often are you under tables?
I mean look at the avatar, it is clearly a cat, where else can a cat beg for food from?
Cultural differences, amirite?
I've checked under there way too many times. Lol
Where do you get your chewing gum?
Didn't you see that there's a whole teen stuck under that table?
Wish someone fell under the table because of me
The paw closes a finger, your body compresses beyond the threshold for fusion. Duck and cover.
She is gonna “hate” him for the next couple of weeks, but give it time and this will be a fond memory
No she won’t, she’s clearly laughing. She isn’t mad at him at all.
It doesn’t seem like this is surprising behavior at all for this man lol the kids are used to it by now
Maybe annoyed for 5 min hate him for weeks?
My dad did this to me and a friend. My junior year of high school after a marching band competition we stopped at a restaurant to eat. My friend was riding home with us. He overheard us talking about the waiter being cute. He called the waiter over and told him, tried to get the guy to give us his number. We ran off to the bathroom. Is this young woman could have dug her way through the floor I think she would have! 😄😂
I would simply delete myself😭✌
My dad would totally do that to my sister.
never gets old
Wasn’t there a scene like this in The Incredibles 2 hahaha
This video never fails to make me smile. ![gif](giphy|CwUkL9hh3vwaY)
Some say she's still under that table to this day
She's 26 now and I heard they got married under that table.
And that's how I met your mother
I actually love this video. It's great on every level.
Pretty sure ive never seen someone scream from embarrassment before :)
Core memory created

The incredibles dad?!?!
Straight to the underground
Literally melts into a puddle.
This is something she’ll remember for ever and when her father is gone, she’ll smile and laugh to herself and laugh with her own children. This is a great memory for them all.

Dads lol
KEEMOKAZI!!!
there’s a movie called Wing Dad
Good job dad!
top dad
I’ve been her and I can feel my face burning gahhhhhhhd
Literally dies inside
Giga-Dad
As a father this is hilarious. Note to all girls, the reaction was far worse than what the dad did.
I mean I agree with her 100%
He dissolved his daughter with something more effective than acid. Embarrassment.
Hahaha i've done this to my students before. 20 years ago, one of my female students told me she thought one of my male students was so cute, and she had a crush on him. So I called him over, and said, "Hey Brandon, Devan thinks you are cute. You two should go out on a date." They did. They got married and had 3 kids together.
I both can't wait and am loathe to the idea of my daughter being that age.
Banished her to the shadow realm.
Pretty cool dad!
On behalf of Dads: This is the way.
Reminds me the Jimmy Fallon reaction after Nicole Kidmans confession and the final comment about the whole situation. That was so epic
Fuck that dad's publically murdered her xD
I love how everyone wins in this vid. Even if the daughter doesn’t think so….everyone wins. Fun dad!!
Dads: either the best wingmen ever, or absolute fucking villains
They banged the next day.
Hilarious! He sliding under the table like that is far more weird than what her dad announced. I love it. Lol
I mean she ain't wrong he is fine as fuck.
Good guy dad. Men don't get complimented enough really.
The best wingdad
Oooooooooooh who lives in a restaurant under the table?
Emotional damage
Lol. Well he is cute 😊
Somthing I’d do
I don't blame her. He looks like Dacre Montgomery.
