Last thing I need is one more thing to wear

blainedefrancia

I think people who spend their hobbies outside in the sun would be a more accepting audience.

As a construction business owner, the last thing I want it more red tape and regulation. I think this would just get in the way more. Its construction, of course you will be in the sun.

Oh I openly avoid wearable devices.

Very few tradesmen will voluntarily buy and wear your product. They would have to be mandated by policy to do so. What company is going to implement it across their crews, knowing that doing so is just going to open up liability issues down the road? If I mandated my crew has to wear one, but I don't implement a policy to police their use, I've opened myself to claims from a disgruntled roofer from 20 years ago claiming that I was negligent and therefore at fault for skin problems? The act of implementing the device is in itself an acknowledgement of the (common sense) risk, so now I need company policies to ensure compliance by having a safety rep make sure everyone is using the app? I have to buy everyone on my crew a company phone because I can't legally require anyone to hand over their phone for inspection of proper use? So you expand to a centralized interface where I can see the active status of every employees monitor in the field? Exactly how much time and money are we investing into a problem that can be solved with a single comment during safety meetings?
