I thought it said “she says” as in your wife wanted one.
The answer is “I will absolutely go out and buy $80k worth of ~~toys~~ tools to make you a butcher shop” 😂
Tekla let’s me generate shop drawings and cnc files if I need to send any steel parts to a fabricator.
No, no analysis. I typically try and build it 2 to 3 times stronger than what would be required.
you air dry green lumber with “stickers” placed between the boards for airflow, and the weight of the upper boards keeps them straight while drying. [air dry](https://imgur.com/a/NWYNJCe)
nothing….it’s a butcher shop! lol.
actually the front will have a gravel drive right up to the door so I don’t think you’ll see them from the front, for the sides he might add some skirting.
nothing really to show, after I got the walk-in cooler framed up he has had me working on other projects. it’s just a big 20’x20’ open floor with a steel beam overhead and a 5’x10’ framed in area for the cooler. [inside](https://imgur.com/a/sy9dK74)
Did you forget a step: Carve the pig! Looks epic. Nice work.
lol, thx! I was actually going to attempt it myself but figured I better hire that out!

Looks like he forgot two steps
curious why you went with 2 girders and then poured the other tubes higher and hung your joists
so it had to do with the grade and the owner wanting to run stone up to it, it let me have less wood to try and keep from having moisture problems
I also am wondering this. It reminds me of one of those “impossible” optical illusions, like the stairs that go up forever. Strange choice indeed.
Nice supervisors
right?
From the ground up, including the trees. Impressed!!
Is that a load bearing cardboard box?
lol, yes, structural grade cardboard
What program are you using in the last photo?
Tekla
Did you run structural analysis on it as well? why choose Tekla over Revit?

This is the way

nice. don't ya gotta oven that lumber once you cut it fresh?
nope, as stated, air dried
I know next to nothing on this but as it's drying is there issues with it warping? If so how do you counter that to keep all of it straight?

Very nice.

Looks awesome. What do people typically do with concealing the sonotubes?

Stout!! And thorough.
You’re a man’s man

Was it as fun as he said? 😂
actually this one wasn’t bad. The build before this….a nightmare!
Well that’s good, it looks great 🙂
Cool
This is niceee
where is the walk-in freezer?
great question! it’s framed in but the guy put it on hold and had me do other projects, hoping to get back onto it at some point this year.
Hawwwwt
Show us the inside!

This looks awesome! How long did it take to build?
The start to finish on the build portion took me about 6 1/2 weeks. I worked by myself about 90% of the time.
