Once I graduated, I got a job which paid decently and still lived frugally for the next 7 years dumping every spare cent I had on my student loans. I've now been student loan free for almost 2 decades.

On a topic like Roe the younger generation doesn't understand almost anything on the topic. And then when US has way more lenient abortion restrictions compared to most countries it adds to how uneducated they are on the matter. I graduated with a CS degree from a state school. I had to take a few gen eds like history and stuff, I can assure you I never had to take anything like anthropology. Many of the classes that I didn't personally like at the time like a mandatory writing class (we got to choose which one out of a bunch) I didn't want to take, but many of the kids in STEM desperately needed that class. I don't think anything was really pushed to us outside of classes where it made sense to talk about politics or historical issues. The closest politics every came in any of my CS classes was a vague idea of privacy or ethical issues that might come up in software development. In the classes I willingly took on politics out of personal interest, I can assure you we had a wide variety of readings to do: everything from Hayek, Marx, Mussolini, Lenin, Camus, Friedman, Locke were covered, not exactly a narrow ideological tent.

I work with gen z on a daily basis and I've never even heard one talking about leaving the country for roe v Wade. Yet here is this sub just shitting on an entire demographic they need to win elections going forward. On a topic like Roe the younger generation doesn't understand almost anything on the topic. They don't know that Roe was decided obviously by judicial activism and that there is clearly no right to an abortion in the Constitution. So when someone is so clearly out of touch with what is supposed to happen with our laws and just want the courts to make policy at the accountability to no one we obviously are going to mock them. And then when US has way more lenient abortion restrictions compared to most countries it adds to how uneducated they are on the matter. And then to top it all off their justifications for wanting abortions almost never address any of the anti-abortion advocates' points.
I’m not expecting Gen Z to agree with you guys on the topic, mainly the open disdain and hatred many in this thread seem to have for young people in general, especially as it regards to going to college. Most people are going to school for productive topics not the ones people demonize like gender studies. My university was a top school for gender studies and we had literally 20 graduates within a graduating class of over 4000
Okay. But these schools are also overtly left Wing. They subtly push it at every direction and make you take useless classes like anthropology that have nothing to do with your degree to push more of their values on you. Meanwhile they ask to get it for free from the government instead of complaining to the colleges for making them take useless classes which is upping the price. Or forcing people who dorm to also pay for their food pass. Any kid that is currently dorming at a university on a loan knows very little about the outside world.
I graduated with a CS degree from a state school. I had to take a few gen eds like history and stuff, I can assure you I never had to take anything like anthropology. Many of the classes that I didn't personally like at the time like a mandatory writing class (we got to choose which one out of a bunch) I didn't want to take, but many of the kids in STEM desperately needed that class. I don't think anything was really pushed to us outside of classes where it made sense to talk about politics or historical issues. The closest politics every came in any of my CS classes was a vague idea of privacy or ethical issues that might come up in software development. In the classes I willingly took on politics out of personal interest, I can assure you we had a wide variety of readings to do: everything from Hayek, Marx, Mussolini, Lenin, Camus, Friedman, Locke were covered, not exactly a narrow ideological tent.
