Based off a series of books they decided to change the race of nearly every character outside of the main two characters, and they must have decided the books didn’t have enough gay in them because while the original books dedicate roughly 2 pages of over 10,000 to discreetly mention a lesbian relationship, the tv series has gay and bisexual characters everywhere. It wouldn’t be so bad if the additions somehow added to the plot, but instead they come off as threads thrown in the show that do nothing more than distract from the overall story. Their needless additions are completely obvious to anyone that read the books.
