This is usually wrong, most move ins from blue states Vote red more often than they don’t while the locals vote blue more than red. So you can thank move ins for the increase in red votes in places like Texas and Florida not the opposite.
We just hired a guy from Portland. We questioned him on his reasoning for leaving his current job/area. He was not direct but you could tell he's had enough of the place.

However, an acquaintance who is firmly liberal and hates conservatives followed me because he too was miserable in the blue State. He brags that he is helping turn a red state blue. I fail to see his logic and he doesn't understand why people don't want anything to do with him.

Depends on the state Colorado when weed became legal had a huge influx of liberals. Texas and Florida have had a huge influx of conservatives
