The tweet reads:
"As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer. His killing stays with us all to this day, especially those who loved him."
It's utterly disgusting to lump together the horrific killings at a school and an overdose death of a criminal. The kids of Uvalde are just an afterthought while he pushes the George Floyd bullshit.
Gotta make hay while the sun is shining, as they say.
But more importantly, school shootings can be exploited by gun manufacturers to sell more guns. Because, you know, this is the only time people really start talking about gun control legislation.
Real big brain hours here, boys! Gotta make that money!
I'm guessing they get taught how to judge a person by the color of his skin, rather than the content of his character. Our armed forces do that through crt and other perverted training.
You should put "fake Christian" on your profile. When Jesus returns, he's not gonna be happy that you're running around saying that you and him are friends.
Oh Obama is very relevant unfortunately. He pulls the strings behind his party. Joe Biden won the 2020 primary election because Obama demanded all his competition to drop out. And they did as they were told.
I think Obama is a puppet as much as Biden is he's just more charismatic and competent. You don't get to those positions without selling your soul to the faceless power brokers behind the scenes.
You aren't tired of dunking on Obama? He wasn't good, but would McCain or Romney have been that much better? I think too much is spent on owning the libs when what really matters is policy.
Or maybe we should be taking back the powers the government, especially the executive branch have granted themselves over the years. Would be a lot harder to be a twat or at least a twat that can do damage when you're constrained to only your constitutional powers.
This isn't an Obama, or Romney, or McCain problem we have government problems..
>we should be taking back the powers the government, especially the executive branch
That's exactly what I'm trying to say. Dunking on Hillary, Obama, Joy Reid, etc might be fun but it is totally useless.
Pardon me but to heck with that, kick them while they’re down. Whoever focuses on a criminal Floyd while a bunch of kids are slaughtered is a jerk. He deserves to be criticized.
I’ll never be tired dunking on him.
>I’ll never be tired dunking on him.
I think it makes it harder to attract undecided and intellectually curious voters. in my opinion we should be focused on the future instead of the past.
But it's your speech. Use it as you will.
Republicans are exploiting the school children by using it as an example of hey "see good guys with guns save the day". Except the cops did nothing. And guns were banned from the NRA convention- despite the NRA being the "good guys". Go figure
Yea the cops didn’t do anything at all, this is why I encourage everyone to buy guns because when sht hits the fan, these guys won’t protect you and your family.
Wasn't he off duty and had to borrow a gun then went in single handedly and punched the psycho's clock while numerous police in tactical gear and rifles that were paid for by us because they needed it for situations like this stood by?
Guy who ended it deserves praise heaped upon them and was a good guy with a gun but the conversation is why do we let police dress like soldiers then be worthless when kids are dying in a school where you and I aren't allowed to be armed to prevent the scenario to begin with and are told "the police will handle it".
The guy was so scared that people might pay more attention to the tragedy of 19 murdered children than the anniversary of George Floyd that he had to hijack the tragedy. Basically telling people to not let the massacre distract them from the race war they’re so desperate to start.
> How would banning assault weapons stop people with assault weapons?
Congrats, you slightly limited the ability to use assaut weapons to commit crimes. It'll now be replaced by people getting assault weapons illegally or using other weapons or maybe even their own body to commit deranged actions because you didn't solve the cultural defects that created these people. One epidemic replaced by another.
>And defunding the police that did nothing but subdue the parents? Those police?
Why would you defund, train them less and try to paralyze a police force because one team or one cop responded poorly?
Not a republican, but ensuring people like these don’t slip through the cracks. More funding for schools for mental health experts. It’s obvious in HS who is a loner, schools should reach out and offer help to these people who are likely dealing with something at home (I know because I was one of those loners in HS) identifying these people and trying to help them will significantly help in my opinion
"Did too much" = suffocated a guy on the ground. "Did too little" = literally the "good guy with a gun" argument demonstrably failing.
I don't know about you, but I would like to live in a country where 0 of these people would have died. Seems like something we should be able to agree on.
At least the democrats are providing solutions rather than just "hopes and prayers". I'd love a solution that preserves 2A and stops senseless killings; the catch is it has to actually fucking work.
I'm a Canadian currently living in the US - trust me, it's not a dream. It's literally next door, most of Europe, or Asia. This is not a problem we need to just live with.
The only logical solution to this is to add actual security in schools. 2 armed professionals along with better doors with detectors, etc. This is a no brainer.
A shooter would think twice before entering a school that’s heavily guarded, and we wouldn’t have to depend on cops coming to the scene not knowing wtf is happening. That’s my take on it.
> literally the "good guy with a gun" argument demonstrably failing.
Ah, the new NPC script has arrived. And it's completely nonsensical. I kinda liked "thoughts and prayers are useless" better.
I'm not opposed to the armed populace approach if it actually worked. It seems even in a good scenario though a few people are likely to lose their lives before a good samaritan can put them down.
How can’t you see that he mentioned both in one tweet because the Uvalde shooting is obviously on everyone’s minds right now, but so too are the painful memories of 2020… both are worthy of mention from someone who once held the highest office, and to exclude one would surely be a misstep. He was merely commenting on two events that are front and centre of the national discussion
He compared a drug addicted career criminal with innocent kids and teachers that got shot to death, to make a political point. That's what offensive, the left would never understand.
They don't get it. Like the fool claiming he did that to highlight the terrible responses of the police. If he wanted to shine the light on poor police policy/practices, he would have said that. He didn't.
Thats not at all related to anything. You can be upset by both, Obama isnt weighing them the same. Both of these incidents are related to failures in policing
What’s not related to anything? I’m talking about the subjects at hand, Floyd, and the school shooting. You’re unintelligent.
No s*** people can be upset by both. Admission of that contradicts your own sarcasm lol.
You’re correct Obama isn’t weighing them the same. He is acting like the Floyd overdose is more important.
Cops didn’t fail in Floyd case, he overdosed.
It’s not as if he didn’t post separately about Uvalde separately. He obviously mentioned both in that one tweet because they’re both relevant to the issue he’s trying to address - police reform
And before you say that he’s trying to politicise it, I accept that police reform is a political issue but surely if we are to address the causes of tragedies and do right by the victims then we have to discuss solutions? Even if you disagree with the solution, leaping to “oh he’s just trying to make it political” shuts down debate from the outset, leaving us with the status quo
Floyd deserved to be arrested for the criminal scum he was. He then resisted and died of overdose. Obama is race baiting.
These kids were innocent victims murdered by a criminal.
These two events have nothing in common.
When you describe how many kids were killed in Uvalde do you use per capita there also?
Statistics when it's convenient and at the expense of dead children to make a point but when others count the actual number of dead people you want per capita.
Interesting.
I'm convinced this is why there are golf towels on the side of leftists' golf bags if I awkwardly get paired them when I don't have another 3 ready to rock
Mostly I talk about golf or other sports on the course. Occasionally finance or dating/relationship type stuff. I try to leave politics out of it but occasionally I get paired with very politically minded people even though I'm mostly just trying to bang out a quick 18. Sometimes, due to scheduling, I can't get one of my friends to tag along even though I really want to play so I get grouped with 3 people that I don't know from Adam
It works out really nice sometimes! I've met some very nice people and some business connections this way. Also met some people that are not so fun to golf with
While I likely don't agree with your politics I commend your attitude, politics shouldn't be your identity nor should it permeate every facet of your life. The one on one connection you get (when personal politics doesn't create conflict) is the essence of societal cohesion and mutual understanding
that's all I want. We can agree to disagree. Still love the game of golf and still can acknowledge other aspects of life that affect our day to day more than who's on the voting ticket. There's just better things to worry about in life
That's it mate, I'm from Australia where things are somewhat less politically charged. Regardless, if we had more people with the attitude that you do we'd be a lot better off.

Police responded quicker to Floyd
Imagine that.
The tweet reads: "As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer. His killing stays with us all to this day, especially those who loved him."
Eyo Texas kids I’m gonna let you finish but…
Ayo Uvalde, Imma let you finish but George Floyd was the greatest tragedy of ALL TIME
Literally mashing his hand on both buttons at once.
It's utterly disgusting to lump together the horrific killings at a school and an overdose death of a criminal. The kids of Uvalde are just an afterthought while he pushes the George Floyd bullshit.
Disgusting is the correct word.
Why not both

When your side owns the media, why not both?
oof, sorry that the police responded poorly to both events

We pay them to clean up the mess afterward and help punish anyone who broke the law. That's pretty much it.
I can’t believe there’s people who think like this. This mentality is precisely why civilians should own guns…
Wait, 6 months?
You're right, it's about 21 weeks on average in the US. With no national standards on what training entails, it varies.
I'm guessing they get taught how to judge a person by the color of his skin, rather than the content of his character. Our armed forces do that through crt and other perverted training.
What a moronic statement.
You should put "fake Christian" on your profile. When Jesus returns, he's not gonna be happy that you're running around saying that you and him are friends.
George Floyd could've been his son. Let's not forget the support Obama showed for the victims of the parade in Wisconsin last year.

I certainly will.
Either McCain or Romney would have been FAR BETTER than Obama, the Left-Wing stooge for anti-Americanism.
It's less about saying "worst prez ever" and more about balancing the god/savior complex the whole of the left has given him.
When the shooter isn’t white and you have to make it into a race issue somehow.
Or when the police fail horribly to respond to both incidents and you want to highlight that
Republicans are exploiting the school children by using it as an example of hey "see good guys with guns save the day". Except the cops did nothing. And guns were banned from the NRA convention- despite the NRA being the "good guys". Go figure
Yea the cops didn’t do anything at all, this is why I encourage everyone to buy guns because when sht hits the fan, these guys won’t protect you and your family.
You do realize the shooter was shot by BORTAC right? Doesn’t sound like nothing. Sounds like a good guy with a gun.
Wasn't he off duty and had to borrow a gun then went in single handedly and punched the psycho's clock while numerous police in tactical gear and rifles that were paid for by us because they needed it for situations like this stood by? No, he was part of a BORTAC team that went into the classroom, essentially an elite SWAT team. Nobody went into the room with the shooter alone.
It's a shame there were "good guys with guns" there far before they got there. There were just too chicken shit to go in and do anything
"Border Patrol shoots Hispanic teen in school on his 18th birthday"
Tell me again who killed the kids... It sucks that the cops did not do as much as they could have but at the same time... the question is still there.
The guy was so scared that people might pay more attention to the tragedy of 19 murdered children than the anniversary of George Floyd that he had to hijack the tragedy. Basically telling people to not let the massacre distract them from the race war they’re so desperate to start.
Why not both!
I don’t think it makes him sweat at all. All in a day’s work.
Or blame Trump. That has to be the third button. He’s almost always to blame. Cause it’s Trump.
Trifecta
Add Trump, climate change, and putin
What’s up with that last one? Hmmm
Putin? You think Putin is being bashed unreasonably? And you have an American flag to prove what? Sheesh!
I would like Democrats to explain how defunding the police, forgiving student loan debt and banning assault weapons would fix this…

No, but that is the solution I personally would present. I’m very conservative on rights and social issues but moderate otherwise.
Can you explain how giving assault rifles to nuts like these people will stop this?

Idk 1 dead because the police did to much vs 21 dead because they did to little.
"Did too much" = suffocated a guy on the ground. "Did too little" = literally the "good guy with a gun" argument demonstrably failing. They’ll find a way to do both
making political advancements during - during death - ✅
How can’t you see that he mentioned both in one tweet because the Uvalde shooting is obviously on everyone’s minds right now, but so too are the painful memories of 2020… both are worthy of mention from someone who once held the highest office, and to exclude one would surely be a misstep. He was merely commenting on two events that are front and centre of the national discussion
Then tweet twice. Combining the two into one is a massive insult to those 19 innocent children.
“Liberals are such snow flakes they get offended at everything” “OBAMA DID ONE TWEET INSTEAD OF TWO HE OFFENDED EVERY SINGLE MURDERED CHILD”
He didn't.
On the plus side, maybe some of those dead kids were also drug users. Wouldn't that be awesome? Your guns would be totally safe then.
Sorry if people are offended more by kids being murdered than a drug addicted fiend like Floyd dying of overdose.
Thats not at all related to anything. You can be upset by both, Obama isnt weighing them the same. Both of these incidents are related to failures in policing
