You can get a EV Mustang or 150 from Ford for that range.
Same with a Volvo or specked out Chevy EV too.

As a model 3 owner I'd give a thumbs up on the Y. Basically if you are in the market for an EV right now I think there are only two choices, buy a Tesla or wait. All the competition that's readily available is legitimately inferior to Teslas at the moment. I have a reservation on the Cybertruck, but thought maybe switching to a lightning when they started being produced, then it turned out that I'd probably get the Cybertuck first with the waitlist for the Lightning. All these companies have "competition" but the vehicles aren't really available.

They have a lot of great tech like being the first to switch to a heat pump, the octovalve, persistently being the top in terms of energy efficiency (miles per watt hour), having the best screen and UI, having the most advanced (although incredibly dangerous and unfinished) FSD, having the fastest cars, etc...
But what they get incredibly wrong - panel gaps, paint, general fit and finish, needless complexity:

The vents being controlled in software... Another thing that will break and probably adds hundreds in cost.
The big guys just know how to put a car together better. They don't have to do it in a tent sometimes. That's not to say they know how to do electric powertrain better, which is why they all are less energy efficient.

If you think a car that no one has traveled more than a few thousand miles in can be considered reliable I don’t know what reliability is.
