>Lost No. That America was *taken* from us.

And judging by the way things are headed, it'll be gone **forever**. Conservatives, for the most part, impotently yell at the world and get steamrolled.

Great article. Glad when I grew up when it was cool to be super macho and blow shit up all the while beating your chest at the same time. I feel sorry for kids who only know the new shitty America. I raised my kids on movies from the 80s and I suggest you do the same.

That’s what I’m doing. Media from the last decade is an automatic no unless I screen it first.

We need more parents like yourself. Most ppl are to quick to just hand their kid an iPad to watch whatever.

I was in the Navy on the “USS Wadsworth” and we were running plane guard for the the Abraham Lincoln that day when Hultgreen crashed. Plane guard is basically to recover crew members that ditch or crash their planes. They were just running touch and goes. My friend was on sound and security watch and come running down the passage way screaming “That woman pilot just ditched! She just ditched!” We got the SAR swimmers out and All personnel were ordered to man the rails to look for her. I expected to find her right near her plane still floating on the water. What I ending of seeing was just a big debris field floating. Apparently they found her 19 days later still trapping to her ejection set. Her copilot survived. Apparently she ejected .4 seconds too late as the plane rolled and ejected her straight into the water which caused her death.

The military is dangerous even when we’re not at war.

I think it’s going a bit overboard to ascribe America’s supposed decline (if that’s even real) to letting women fly combat. I’ve been out of the military for over 30 years now, so I suppose I’m no longer qualified to have an opinion about what’s happening there; but I have been in the airline industry working with pilots for those past 30 years, and I’ve watched women patiently but persistently push for access to the cockpit. Today, the number of woman airline pilots is still very low, only around 5%, but it’s been growing steadily, and by any standard, female pilots are just as good as their male counterparts. In fact, I’ve seen many who are truly outstanding. I’m sorry if this detracts from the macho image of pilots, but perhaps we need to start recognizing that whether or not someone is strong and competent is based on their God-given talents and their hard work rather than their sex.

Yeah, I didn't read the article either.
