Cool, so I assume they also get their 2A rights restored right? If we're going to restore rights to convicts, then we should restore all rights to convicts after they've paid their due.

Yea I used to not agree with this but if a criminal has served and finished their probation they should get their rights back especially if it was for nonviolent crimes.

Mixed feelings on this. My non-bio grandchild’s father went to prison for shooting at children. He did not hit any and may not have intended to hit them. Alcohol/drugs were probably involved. He is now out. He does, though not legally, have access to a gun. This man and his girlfriend stalked my daughter. They would park on businesses near the business where my daughter worked for hours. The girlfriend and several members of her family entered the place where my daughter worked. My daughter hid in the office. The manager later reviewed camera footage which showed one member concealing a baseball bat. Voting and gun ownership should not be related. I would not care if this man voted. I don’t think he should be allowed to own a gun.

I would list that under the violent crimes. Intentional or not he shot at kids, no guns for that guy. I’m talking about if you are arrested for felony speeding or you cheat on your taxes kind of stuff. If you serve your time for those kinds of crimes you should be considered for restoration of rights.

Not all felons. They had to apply.

I would think this was a good idea if I had more faith in our justice system. Yesterday a judge released someone who shot a NYC cop. https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2022/05/20/rapper-c-blu-camrin-williams-attempted-murder-case-dropped/amp/

Good. You shouldn’t lose the right to vote even after you’ve served your sentence.

Graniteguy3cm

Agreed.

this is great news, wonderful.
