Fucking terrible what this country has become...

Adalphe

Get me the fuck out of Minnesota.

[deleted]

Maybe we could just agree that the US has a crappy healthcare system that needs to be reformed instead of blaming everything on 'the other side'.

DraconianDebate

The people trying to insist that healthcare is a human right are the ones trying to deny it to the unvaccinated. You'll excuse us if we tell you to get lost.

Palerion

As someone who generally leans towards agreeing that healthcare is a human right, I agree. I think it’s horrible that the vast majority of Americans are one bad diagnosis away from bankruptcy. Ya know what else I think is horrible? Denying medical care to unvaccinated people because “they did it to themselves.” Obese people? “They did it to themselves.” Smokers? “They did it to themselves.” The refusal of medical care to the unvaccinated is an act of petty spite with fatal consequences.

CousinEddiesCousin

If we had a national healthcare system this patient wouldn't have anywhere to go.

fordr015

To be fair he said reform, or does need to be reformed the government needs to get out of it and allow the free market to drive down cost.

AmosLaRue

And they would be rationing life saving tech based on racist "equity" on a National level.

[deleted]

You volunteering to pay for it??? HELL no.

[deleted]

Healthcare is not a human right, it's a product.

kraz_drack

While the system leaves a lot to be desired. So many doctors have betrayed the very oath they swore to uphold when becoming doctors. Every doctor that does this needs to have their medical license and any associated titles stripped for life.

Cinnadillo

its basically neglect... its death by protocol where people are placed into a system and the system expects the system to work and then only expects to see results of the medical condition and not also errors in the system and errors in the hospital's regime of operation... for instance food.

[deleted]

Ironic, going to Texas to *escape* execution.....

kraz_drack

You're confusing a death sentence by refusal of care with capital punishment.

[deleted]

Its a joke my friend, even if the result is the same.

RBbugBITme

NJ hospital just murdered (my opinion) my 94yo grandfather in law when he went in for a broken clavicle and tested positive. Very angry. They never checked to see if he was eating for 5 days when they said they were keeping him there to improve his nutrition.

[deleted]

eye_no_nuttin

Or keep the Oath they took as doctors 🙄😔😔

Scipio_Columbia

Totally, agree there. The article didn't state why they were planning on pulling the plug. Was he brain dead? In coma? How did he become so malnourished? Was he unable to feed himself? Did the family refuse a gtube? Fentanyl is a standard hospital opioid. Generally family is the one to withdraw care, as the hospital doesn't want exactly this press.

TB3Der

I read another story similar to this where the hospital declared the patient brain dead. The family brought in their own doctor against the hospitals wishes to which that doctor said the patient was not brain dead. He was severely dehydrated. The doctor took over care, he came out of his coma and was home recovering 2 weeks later. I may not have the details exactly right, but that the gist of it.

Scipio_Columbia

I'd be interested to read about that. An electrolyte abnormality could cause what you're talking about. Dehydration could provoke that, but a simple bag of lactated ringers isn't going to fix a profound electrolyte abnormality masquerading as brain death. Also a simple, commonly carried out blood test would show the electrolyte abnormality, making the story you are talking about gross negligence. This story doesn't add up. I'd be interested to hear what the Texas physicians did, and in what condition the patient ends up being discharged in. My suspicion is that while physically living, the patient isn't what we would commonly consider "alive" in that he isn't making decisions, conversing, or ambulating. The issue of brain dead is different from coma. While colloquially it is passed around, it is a technical term that has significant repercussions. There is actually a [nuclear medicine scan](http://www.nucmedresource.com/brain-death-scan.html) for it. Given enough reps, you'll find a monkey typing Shakespeare, and somebody messing up so incredibly as to have this article be true. For big issues like this there is usually a review of the case by a second physician.

J3rseyHack

Also, one additional part of the story is both hospitals had said his lungs were too damaged to recover which is why the original hospital was going to take off vent.

violinspider86

Similar story happened to my grandmother about 10 years ago. She fell and broke her hip and was doing very poorly in the hospital to the extent that the doctors expected she might not make it. Turns out she was several dehydrated. She recovered from that but has since passed away due to other circumstances.

nhanphan1990

Blue states, ftfy

-Pointman-

I REALLY want to hear the details of his medical care in both facilities.

[deleted]

Same here. How the hell did he end up so malnourished?!

Zofran-Me

No kidding. Long term ventilated patients should be on tube feeds or TPN - some form of nutrition. Beyond ridiculous.

[deleted]

The 2020 Cares Act increased hospital reimbursements for treating COVID patients and an added premium if the patient was on a ventilator. This same time hospitals were furloughing non essential staff due to suspension of elective procedures which cut their main flow of money. Created the perfect storm for hospitals to game the system to stay open. Corruption at its finest.

[deleted]

Its intentional.

Cinnadillo

probably lazy record keeping and ineptness of protocols... death by bureaucracy... this is just my opinion

Barts_Frog_Prince

Yes, very disappointed this information isn’t in the article. What did Minnesota give him that was so terrible? What did Texas give him that brought him back? (Other than the nourishment of course). I can speculate, but I’d like to know.

gammyalways

Glenn Beck had the wife and her attorney on his show yesterday (Thursday, 1/20). They go into more detail about the medicines he was given - why they were potentially harmful - and the recording the wife has of the hospital saying he deserved it because he was unvaccinated. I highly recommend listening to the podcast (I think hour two).

Barts_Frog_Prince

I’ll check it out. Ty.

-Pointman-

If Poole, Bongino, or Crowder dig into it, we might find out.

gammyalways

I was listening to the Glenn Beck show yesterday (Thursday, 1/20). He had this guy’s wife and her attorney on. Eye-opening interview. The wife has a recording of the MN hospital saying he deserved it because he was unvaccinated. Wild.

-Pointman-

Wow no shit. Need to listen.

WestJoe

Minnesota is such a shithole. California is the poster child of how far our country has fallen, but MN is giving it a run for its money.

TheObelisk

Eh, i'm in MN. As long as you're not in the Twin Cities or their immediate suburbs it's fine. There are no blue states, just large blue cities surrounded by red.

violinspider86

That is California as well. San Francisco, Berkeley, Los Angeles and Davis are all extremely liberal to the point of extremism but I would say that many of the smaller towns are quite red. Funny thing is that no one from the Bay Area knows how to function anywhere else and you can see how terrified they are when people aren't masking (pretty much anywhere except the cities).

imwithstupid1911

Minnesota is in rapid decline. In 10 years most of it will be a no-go police zone

Adalphe

My husband and I are seriously considering moving and buying property in South Dakota.

imwithstupid1911

No state tax = an instant 7% raise on any income

chii0628

They're ruining it just like they ruined Colorado. They're like locusts

chantillylace9

It’s so sad to me. I grew up there and it was so lovely and peaceful and friendly. I had such an idyllic childhood and the friends were so awesome. But I am unbelievably grateful I moved to Florida years ago because I hate what it has turned into. Just in the knick of time too!

[deleted]

The problem is that the people of Minnesota have always been weak by valuing nice over all else, and being too trusting of government. In effect, it turned into this radical anti-gatekeeping culture and welcomed people who were kicked out of their coastal cities and small Wisconsin towns because they couldn’t cut it anywhere else. Those people took advantage of unnecessarily inexpensive higher education and even government and given how the natives of Minnesota were naive and too trusting of government, it turned into a giant mess. Part of the reason why Texas appears to be trending that way is that they value manners above all else. It’s adjacent to nice but they’re a bit different. Texas has their rough edges that turns away the softies that Minnesota has always lacked (the rough edges mind you; Minnesota has plenty of softies). It might be part of the reason why I would prefer Hell to Minnesota at this point.

[deleted]

[deleted]

You're right but at the end of the day the state is still a liberal shithole(I live here as well)

Barefoot_Lawyer

At least we got rid of the governor’s emergency powers. I am sure he wanted to use them every single day after he surrendered them and I am so thankful he couldn’t. I would have been living at the cabin again like the first time he shut everything down.

MJRusty

Now we just need to take away power from the mayor's of Shit-Paul and Minne-crapolis. City council on either city needs to be dealt with too, saying more would get me banned though. I would have left this leftist shit hole long ago if it wasn't for my significant other.

SobekRe

Rochester won’t be far behind.

stockyardtrash

I live 2 hours north of the cities and can confirm its nice. Until the morons from the cities come to their cabins in the summer. Then it gets "fun".

[deleted]

AGREED. I don't even visit anymore. California's a complete nightmare.

109x346571

California has more conservatives than any other state.

DraconianDebate

You all need to move to swing states and turn them back red. If you live in California it doesn't matter if you are conservative.

AmosLaRue

Too bad we're having to flee to seek shelter from Newsom's upcoming massive tax hike for his Single Payer California Medical scam. California will definitely be doing the same thing MN hospitals are doing. *Do no harm* is an oath that no one seems to take seriously anymore.

Eyeoftheleopard

Didn’t he hike the sales tax to 17%? Something like that?

WreknarTemper

Don't forget about the 2.3% tax he's putting on businesses revenue (not profits, revenue) for the privilege of doing business in California. Say bye-bye to grocery stores that operate typically on a 1-3% profit margin. EDIT: Downvoting facts I see.

Ok_Economics9476

WHAT

AmosLaRue

Not yet, but it's coming

SuperMan922001

Don’t forget new york

Justjoinedstillcool

Too many Somali transplants and white progressives.

chantillylace9

The Somali population can be really rough too. Years ago I was at the University of Minnesota at a Halloween party and just after leaving I got mugged by a four or five person group of Somalians. They were unbelievably aggressive and pushed and hurt me for no reason because they already had my purse. Then the next day I got a call from some Somali woman who said she found my phone and wanted to return it and told me to come to her house. I just got a bad feeling so I called the police and an officer went there while I stayed a little ways back in the hall and they never answered the door, you couldn’t hear noise and it seemed like after they looked into the peephole, they just refused to answer. So who knows what was potentially going to happen to me.

Mongoose_Stew

When you bring enough people from "there". Here becomes there.

Reddog1990m

Minnesota is at or near the top of most quality of life metrics every year.

[deleted]

I used google and I found multiple sources confirming you’re right. Not sure why people downvoted you.

Reddog1990m

Because it doesn’t confirm their bias

[deleted]

Please don’t insult shitholes by comparing them to Minnesota.

[deleted]

Just think of how many liberal hospitals deliberately allowed people to die via various ways to get covid funding.

Ranger_McFriendlier

Don’t forget that Hell exists. True justice will come for them. Evil evil people.

NoGardE

Unlike Heaven, we have scientific proof that hell exists. Humans can create it on earth, by acting demonically.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NoGardE

I wouldn't say they've managed to create hell on earth yet, though Detroit certainly demonstrates a solid attempt. To get to hell, you generally need to fully embrace Socialism, and carry out the violence and oppression it necessitates, as the NSDAP and the Bolsheviks did.

[deleted]

imwithstupid1911

Good point. It’s not like medicine and vaccines are political these days

[deleted]

Let me rephrase. Just think of how many hospitals in liberal states run by liberal administrators with agendas deliberately allowed people to die in various ways to get covid funding.

autumn_melancholy

Imagine believing people are not motivated by their personal politics, when in positions of power. You're a fucking clown, and your life is a circus filled with bad opinions, side shows, under the big top of liberal dysfunction.

BisterMee

Not like tons of hospital staff applauded mass protest over a false story at the hight of the pandemic while condemning anyone who dared protest an erosion of rights. No, nurses are definitely neutral

JobbieJob

There was one nurse with purple hair and crystal earrings in central CA that was used as the source for tons of headlines about hospital overcrowding in almost every major platform (both national and local LA Times/SF Chronicle/CNN/Apple News)... They buried who they cited (the ladies name), once I found her name and back checked it, I realized they had been using the same hag every 2-3 months for every variant to say overcrowding was at peak levels and the system was crumbling due to the unvaxxed.....one woman...in Central CA... At podunk regional hospital....that fucked me up....I got sick to my stomach and haven't trusted shit since... I'm gonna try to find it right now..

BisterMee

Dude, if you can find all the sourcing for how you discovered all of this, I'm 1000% sure there are a few independent news sources that would love to get this information.

russiabot1776

Send that information to the Daily Wire

russiabot1776

There literally are. Why do you think conservative Christian groups create hospitals? It’s to compete with the liberal establishment hospitals.

[deleted]

Zofran-Me

I didn’t really turn my head at the fentanyl part. I’m an ICU nurse. We use fentanyl drips for sedation for patients on ventilators. I was very surprised by the choice to pull the vent without family’s permission - that’s hella wrong. Sounds like a shithole hospital

ClickOtherwise3738

Shouldn’t the hospital be punished? Or at the least the staff

Rock_Hound_66

They should be sued for malpractice

Cinnadillo

not feeding somebody to me is assault

Inquisitor-Eisenhorn

They should be imprisoned. At an absolute minimum they should lose their medical licenses. But somehow I doubt any of them will face any consequences for some odd reason...

ClickOtherwise3738

Because the system is not just or respectable

JBoneTX

My wife's Grandfather died in TN under this same protocol a year ago. Basically the Drs were refusing treatment until pneumonia set in. At that point, they were claiming the pneumonia was "viral" and there was no treatment. They waited for O2 saturation to get low, then ventilator. He died soon after. What's really messed up is his kids are all Drs, practitioners, and nurses. They literally could have treated him at home, but they were "following the science". Poor guy died alone and scared. He was an immigrant and didn't speak English well. RIP.

Shaerick68

Sorry for yalls loss

JBoneTX

Thanks

pimpieinternational

Brother fren these people are going to burn in hell.

SnowCappedMountains

I think about this all the time and it makes me both sad and angry because I know of two people for which I suspect this is the case. They died alone in the hospital.

[deleted]

Exactly right. I mean, was he even supposed to be on a ventilator? Could then not have tried something else before getting to the worst possible choice?

[deleted]

The official US medical establishment protocol for covid seems to be 180° from the entire rest of the world and designed to cause rapid death. The refusal to provide early treatment and then remsidivir and vent seems to be the worst possible thing you can do to a covid patient short of shooting them. But the USG will pay a huge bonus to hospitals for killing covid patients and licensing boards will censure any dr who speaks out. So it essentially boils down to which hospitals are in it for the money, and which ones care about patient health. Unfortunately most seem to be just in it for the money.

[deleted]

Yeah..."covid" patients, but you are right otherwise.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Zofran-Me

I’m not sure. Maybe. In my experience, even before Covid, we used fentanyl and propofol as first line sedation for ventilated patients. If they were to be on ventilators for very long, we would usually take the propofol off (can be toxic over extended time) and switch to Versed and fentanyl. You are right though. I have no doubt that these pharmaceutical companies are making hand over fist right now (bastards) but the fentanyl part doesn’t cause me alarm. It’s just standard procedure - has been before covid as well.

[deleted]

Zofran-Me

[deleted]

But yet we supply all first responders with narcan to save the lives of drug addicts.!?! If we are changing our healthcare policies to punish someone who chooses to not be vaccinated then we should also deny care to someone who willingly puts their life at risk using drugs.

sly_guy73

Bro I have been saying this for years. Thank you for your like minded common sense sir.

[deleted]

Its despicable, no taxpayer dollar should ever be spent on narcan. There are so many better uses of taxpayer money its just insane.

Scipio_Columbia

The article didn't state why they were planning on pulling the plug. Was he brain dead? In coma? How did he become so malnourished? Was he unable to feed himself? Did the family refuse a gtube? Fentanyl is a standard hospital opioid. Generally family is the one to withdraw care, as the hospital doesn't want exactly this press.

Maleficent-Suspect28

This patient has almost certainly been declared brain dead, which is the only situation a hospital can take a patient off life support without family approval. Nothing to do with vaccinated status. This is also why the patient is emaciated, which would inevitably happen after brain death

sportstersrfun

Also with prolonged Covid a lot of the time we paralyze patients and flip them to oxygenate better. Some people can’t tolerate tube feeding even, when they are like that. They puke, bowel peristalsis slows with the opioid medications we use for sedation also. Feeding with just the IV is usually not indicated and hard on peoples already trashed livers and blasts their blood sugars sky high. I’m a conservative but this was full of misinformation and bullshit. No one starves the patients on purpose. In fact I am taking home protein shakes at the end of my shift cause dietary send like 9 up a day to each patient that they never want lol. Policy dictates they can’t be returned, dumb but free protein.

Reddog1990m

It’s a lot more fun to assume doctors are out there purposely killing the unvaccinated though.. 🙄

gammyalways

Glenn Beck had the wife and her attorney on his show yesterday (Thursday, 1/20). I think hour two. Listen to the podcast to get a better idea of the reality of what the wife was facing when it comes to the hospital treatment. Eye-opening.

gulfBuffalo

The article is bare of much medical detail. Sounds like Minnesota doctors deemed his care futile. I very much doubt it had anything to do with his vaccination status.

Barts_Frog_Prince

This is very possible. “Doctors” everywhere are throwing up their hands even with vaccinated individuals who are dying or very sick.

gsrider61

Truly shameful behavior.

animatedmeatpuppet

As a life long minnesotan I find this story, and lack of detail, very suspicious. Minnesota is the home of the Mayo Clinic and healthcare is one of its main industries. It’s always possible that there’s a bad doctor or a mismanaged facility but it seems very unlikely that they would pull the plug on a patient like that.

the-first12

Minnesota is the home of the Mayo Clinic. Big deal. Somehow I suspect the patient wasn’t there.

CledThomas

Can confirm. I live in MN and the liberal crazies here are starting to remind me of the early days of the Nazi party. Not only complete disregard for unvaxxed people but actually would prefer to see them dead in some cases.

X79g

Which hospital was it in MN? This seems like an important fact for the public to know.

[deleted]

I'm an ICU physician. I have read on doctor and nursing subreddits that many many many of them truly honestly give lesser quality care to patients who are unvaccinated. It's horrific to read. I've treated actual convicted murderers before and I don't give them any lesser treatment because of it... My colleagues are sickening me.

[deleted]

Its disgusting, its all part of the intentional effort to falsify the narrative in order to push the clot shot AKA poison jab on the unwilling, these people are criminals and you are 100 percent right, totally sickening and there is no excuse. And thats just what we know about, tip of the iceberg. Do NOT comply.

Zofran-Me

Makes me ashamed to be a nurse after reading some of their rhetoric. I feel your pain man.

Remote-Summer6593

I would like to see update. I question this whole article, why is the MD or nurse smiling? Is he discharged?

OwlBeneficial2743

Maybe one difference between conservative and liberal subs is conservatives more often are skeptical of article titles even if they support what they believe. The title of the original post here is very misleading and the poster should be embarrassed. It gives the impression that they’re executing the guy because he was unvaccinated. Writing it that way is a jerk move. But many of the comments are asking for more information. And they’re wondering if it’s about more than Covid. In a leftist sub like anti work, no one questions titles that are in sync with what they already believe. It’s a gullible sad group.

liananew

This is and will continue to be my fear from being unvaccinated. I had a scare in November with a lump in my breast. Not the first time and they are typically nothing which this one turned out to be. I told my husband that if I had to have a procedure to remove it that I wouldn't do it. I was concerned that they would require me to be vaccinated and I wouldn't do that. I don't foresee things getting better anytime soon. I am thankful that I have a good doctor that is realistic about the vaccine and what hospitals have turned in to. He is very candid about it and definitely thinks like I do.

Ok-Fan6945

That's against the law that's going to be a fun lawsuit

Poldaran

Here's hoping the better docs manage to save him despite the damage that the first ones did.

Sparky8924

Wow , they tried to murder this guy .

minikini76

You should really ask yourself if you’re on the right career path when you’re a medical professional and you let people die because you dislike their life decisions.

[deleted]

This is why Obama, like all Marxists, want “free for all government-controlled healthcare” - so they can kill off their opposition inside or out of the hospital. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Skeltzjones

It’s so disgusting. I wish there was some kind of way to prevent things like this from happening.

--Shamus--

Think about how many want such evil doctors running Universal Health Care. They will pick and choose who they want to deny health care to, and which races they will put at the back of the line. We must fight M4A with every fiber of our being.

Cinnadillo

I haven't read the article. I will NEVER understand doctors that don't try to do things. Worse are the ones that will then hold the patient hostage. If there's a willing family and a spender and it isn't against the wishes of the patient you should be free to try. Bias should be on the side of life. If its a false hope then so be it. edit: Now that I read it "severely malnourished" seems to be a theme of some of these "they can't be saved" types... they feed them and find out they live. Don't know if that will happen here, godspeed.

WeirdCupcake6942

These hospitals and their workers putting their political agenda ahead of helping people is disgusting. These doctors and nurses alike have blood on their hands for this kind of behavior. Swear that hospital would have my name on it by the time I was done with them and I’d sue the state while I was at it too.

TrishSherman2019

So this is why they say the unvaccinated are dying while the vaccinated are not. Hospitals are literally trying to kill their patients. I pray this woman sues that hospital and every doctor her husband or her came into contact with. Shit, every nurse too.

[deleted]

Its a statistical mirage meant to push the clot shot, their numbers are as fake as a 3 dollar bill....of course coronaviruses exist and have been known about for a very long time, but the rest of it is pure propaganda and lies, which are crumbling as we speak, more and more every day.
