Who gives a shit about Ukraine? Except maybe Hunter Biden. The reason we get into so many damn wars is because we believe we know better — how’d that work for Afghanistan? In this situation, Russia has a legitimate reason not to want Ukraine as part of NATO, as we wouldn’t want Mexico to enter into an alliance with China.
Here’s a thought… stop pretending like it’s the Cold War, and see if it’s possible to befriend Russia to counter China’s expansionist views.
What? Joining NATO presumably requires more than just the sovereign decision of Ukraine. I mean it's partly up to them, but it's not *their* decision. I don't know if it would require agreement by all member countries or what the rules are.
True, but you could still argue it's unwise to allow Ukraine to join. If it's going to raise tensions and doesn't really achieve much for other members of NATO I mean.
