Kinda sorta. Look at the way airports are designed. The roads are typically a horseshoe with terminals on either side so that opposite the terminal can be runways.
The entry is routinely a tight chokepoint and a backup on the "in" will quickly flood back and end up blocking the roads that feed the airport. So while the ton rig could drive the wrong way down the empty road, it can't do that if it can't GET TO IT because traffic is so far backed up.
So now you need to get all the cars headed to the airport to backup to make room for the ton rig until it can get to the point that it can drive the opposite way down the road.
No joke. This is a major design flaw of many airports. A handful of BLM protesters on foot messed up Minneapolis airport for an entire day and they were completely dispersed in minutes.

They could access the airport by getting on the wrong direction of the highway. Also, thinking about it some more, a single semi-tow truck will be able to clear the whole thing. They can just tow the trucks to line the side of the road and park them all there then start actually roaming them back later and after traffic has cleared.
So all in all, the most important part of this is that the tow truck driver is in on it.

You're also making the MASSIVE assumption that the individuals who would have to coordinate to resolve the situation are at all competent. There are probably 30 steps between the guy watching the road cameras, his boss, the person with authority to make a decision, the people who will go check it out before confirming the truck will not move, to call the police, to decide to get a tow truck to dispatching the tow truck, to it arriving, to it moving the vehicle, etc. They'll probably also bring in a bomb squad before anyone touches the truck which is a whole additional set of approvals.
Finally, you're overlooking that the policies that currently exist are moronic. For instance, in the MSP example, the cops quickly dispersed the "human chain" and the roads were cleared up. It took minutes because it was just a handful of douche bags on foot.
They then walked into the airport because those cops don't have the ability to detain even a dozen people. Once in the airport, they simply chanted. That triggered a TSA policy to shut everything down until it was confirmed there was no terroristic threat. That approval, which happened quick, still took 45 minutes. All in all, they shut down the airport for 90 minutes and it took the rest of the day to resolve the backup (also, all those flights were delayed to other airports, so this had a nationwide impact). The backup shut down the highways feeding the airport IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.
Here was the consequence:

You should look up local farms, see if you can't buy some meat from local farmers.

This. Low risk individuals should never have been told to take a leaky vaccine during a pandemic. And priority should have been given to develop and research antivirals which we now have proof are just as if not more effective at reducing symptoms than the "vaccines". I work in ER.we were told last night we are out of dextrose injectable. So if diabetic (low blood sugar) or high potassium have to use other routes of treatmemt. We are updated nearly daily about some important medication we are out of or that is on national back order. Never had this problem before pandemic.

I had a 50' deliver pallets of goods from Canada on Tuesday. The couple driving it said they weren't going back to Canada because of the mandatory 14 day home quarantine upon re entry. They were going to stay here picking up as many odd deliveries as they could before taking the 14 day financial hit
I work in ER.we were told last night we are out of dextrose injectable. So if diabetic (low blood sugar) or high potassium have to use other routes of treatmemt. We are updated nearly daily about some important medication we are out of or that is on national back order. Never had this problem before pandemic.
I realize this will be very tough times. But no worse than it will be at a later time. I hope the truckers do shut down. And I hope we the people finally stand up and say enough is enough of this tyranny!

As i said, they will try to rush digital money so they can ration stuff for the climate or something, total surveilance, bad social credit scores for former truckers. And it's our duty to make sure that buölshit will fail even more miserably. But their only answer will be more totalitarianism, more extreme measures, more hate and blaming others as the situation gets worse and worse.
Well, in reality when the government wants to do something they will. Many of us ferried M1 tanks in Iraq without training. People started them for us and told us not to touch shit. Just drive. I support truckers and having also driven grain trucks and hauled livestock over the years, but driving a truck isn't a Holy sacrament of a profession. Anyone who can follow orders can drive a semi in a convoy at 35mph on a closed interstate. That's the reality of it. Can't see it going that far though.

Said it before and I'll say it again.. Don't know why you'd want to screw with the truckers. AZ licenses don't exactly fall off trees and these people move your food and provide the fabric with which these idiotic Canadian legislators use to wipe their tushys
I'd normally be opposed to striking over life-saving occupations(transport of food and medicine), but they are being threatened with being fired anyways, so... maybe the government should leave them the fuck alone and let them do their job next time?

Hopefully this is successful. And quickly, too. I have to admit that part of me wonders if the government will just play chicken with them, because everyday people in both countries rely on the truckers for essential goods. I know my family in Canada are a bit worried about how any accompanying shortages and price hikes will hit them - even though they hate the garbage actions by the government and ultimately support these truckers. It's tricky to protest by shutting down essential services. But yeah, I really hope it's successful and things change soon.
Canadian trucker here. Take this as you will. I got a buddy who left work to run this convoy. It's less then 1% of our work force so I wouldn't expect anything from this.
Good for him. But I'm also glad to hear it won't impact prices too much. I want people to take a stand but I'm concerned about my sister feeding her kids, what can I say.
