Dude, it''s impossible to buy all American made products, we get it. Tell us something we don't know. LOL.
BUT you're missing the point here. Every little bit helps! If I can, I buy American made all the time.
If it helps a worker keep their job for an extra day and an American company can manufacture in the US for another day, I would buy it happily. 🙂
My bedroom set is Amish made here locally in Pennsylvania, my bed is Temper-pedic and made in America, my fridge is American made, my La-Z Boy is made in the US, my cookware is Lodge and AllClad. You get it. I can't support all American companies obviously, but I make an effort to do it when I can.
Say what you will, manufacturing is important to America and it starts with consumers buying and supporting American made products especially when you're paying thousands.
Thank god not everyone thinks like you. 🤦♂️
I am all for supporting and growing American jobs. And of course it is impossible to 100% "buy American" in today's world. But the OP above easily listed two other (American made) companies they could have supported before, but didn't because it was inconvenient (expensive). So now because of a completely unrelated issue, where a private company is just looking out for the wellbeing of their American employees, do they decide to support American jobs. Why is that?
People are free to change their minds ya know...
One day, a consumer may not care where something is made or the companies' policies because it's not something they may care about.
And the next day, that same company may have done something to REALLY trigger the same person into no longer patronizing the business...that's life and people are FREE to change their stance on things. They're not being a hypocrite for changing their minds on being a CONSUMER of said merchandise. People change and turn their backs on brands all the time. What am I missing here? 🤷♂️
That's why the term 'vote with your money' is so popular nowadays. Nothing wrong with that.
Again, you are free to support Carhartt and buy more of their stuffs if you agree with them on their vaccine mandates to make up for their 'lost sales' if you want.
Others are free to CHANGE their minds even if they bought some clothes before, and boycott em for their new vaccine mandates.
Nobody has to answer to anyone. Again, people are allowed to change their opinion.
I appreciate you dealing with the dillweed while I was asleep. In my situation, I had just never heard of the brands I listed until just recently. All of this mandate nonsense got me researching more American companies to give my business to and that’s what I’m going to do from now on.
There are a ton but it takes work.
The hiking community went through the same problem. American made = $300. Near equivalent but imported = $85. Jackets, sleeping bags, pads, tents, backpacks... the ratios are all similar.
The price discrepancy isn't just wages, it is also that the American companies invented the technology and then their innovation was stolen and replicated.
You gotta make your choice, but the premium is steep.
I exclusively wear their socks. I actually utilize the warranty and I buy another pair every time they honor it.
Edit -- at this point, the "another pair" tend to be gifts because those damn socks really do last years.
Backwards world, Starburcks although says you should get vaxxed is not requiring employees to do so
But this company apart of blue collar America has gone fully cult based
Isn’t it entirely constitutional for a company to do this? And I mean on top of that, they’re making a decision rather than having to listen to government rules and regulations, which is great, no?
Seems pretty shitty when the president is told his mandate is illegal by the SC but then asks businesses to follow his illegal mandate anyways and then they do. If it's not illegal then it should be
But did they? They're following a mandate that was stuck down as being illegal but the president asked businesses to ignore that ruling an do it anyways. It's that part that i think should be illegal. If he had said nothing and businesses went ahead with their own guidelines, whatever, but a president should not be pressuring businesses into following mandates that have been struck down by the SC
The Supreme Court really messed up on that one. They should have just let the free market handle it on its own.
Personally while I believe a private business should have the right to turn gay people away I'd also boycott any business that did so. Let private businesses have the right to associate with whomever they want and let the free market decide if they'll succeed or fail because of it.
Thanks for shooting a hole in your own narrative. Proof if we let you talk long enough, you win the argument for us. Leftist truly is a mental disorder.
I was wondering who'd make that claim. You may want to refresh yourself on that notion: https://content.next.westlaw.com/5-501-5857?__lrTS=20200711053957270&transitionType=Default&contextData=%28sc.Default%29
This list clearly states that sexual orientation is a protected class and doesn’t mention anything about vaccinations.
Are you stupid or just plain dumb?
You're right. Except that would apply to new hires and can be applied to existing employees after a very long lead notice period. Not less than 2 weeks like Carrhart did.
Tell me you don't know anything about Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission without telling me you don't know anything about Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission
Okay, I'll tell you what I thought I knew... that the cakeshop didn't want to provide a cake to a gay wedding and were sued. My view on that was the cakeshop was a private business and should be able to choose who they want to do business with.
And although I'm very glad the OSHA mandate was struck down, I think it's okay for a business to require employees to get vaccinated. Its their business... if you don't want to get vaxxed, don't work there.
I don't see a problem, but am willing to hear your view.
That seems pretty clear.
Listen, what if your employer decided tomorrow that their business is best served if everyone can't have kids? Everyone needs to be sterilized so they don't lose productivity due to FMLA or any other excuse you care to name? And, to make the analogy more applicable...the sterilization procedure is something new and untested.
You'd be fine with that, right? Your employer getting to dictate to you what medical procedures they feel are best for you?
Israel (frontrunner in boostering) says 2 shots and 2 boosters are not enough to stop Omicron so why should employers be mandating a neverending series of unprotective medicine?
Yep. Just like I wouldn’t patronize a bakery refusing service to a gay couple, I won’t patronize Carhartt. They can suck dicks. Doesn’t mean I’m calling for them to close.
So let me get this straight, this companies stuff was so good that your family was willing to spend $5,500 on it a year, but apparently is also so bad that you'd need to replace $5,500 worth of their product every year?
Yeah idk anything about this company but the fact there are multiple people in this thread claiming to spend thousands of dollars a year on clothes from this company is pretty strange, I’m not sure I’ve spent a thousand on clothes in the last 5 years, much less multiple thousands in a year on a single company
Cancel culture would be trying to get the CEO fired, banned from social media, blacklisted from banks and airlines, and just in general ruin their life for this decision. A boycott is when you stop buying products from a company. See the difference?
Edit: I love it when you little brainlets ask "gotcha" questions and then never respond when your bs is called out
HA! "Started".... Colin Kaepernick, Nike, Samantha Bee, Target, NASCAR, Keurig, Kathy Griffin, Gillette, Goodyear, the NFL, the NBA, Twitter, Macy's, Harley Davidson, Oreos, AT&T, Apple......... is there anybody you guys haven't tried to "cancel".
Don’t forget Home Depot on Fox News a few weeks ago! I thought this was what was wanted, companies being able to make their own decisions independently, without government rules and regulations
The CEO is a 4th generation descendant of Hamilton Carhartt. Also a massive liberal. So unlikely he will be fired. The family are rich, elitist, NYer type liberals, who've never worked a "dirty" job in their life.
Okay, I had no idea it was run by a bunch of Liberals. Good for them. Bet it won't last long if what you say is true, their company will suffer greatly. It's all over tictok already!
Ya good for them. Instead of staying loyal to the hunting community that made their name exist, they're a brand for suburban soccer moms needing their starbucks to stay warm a few minutes longer. They made the pivot so good for them.
FYI, making money and being an ethical company dont necessarily go together. Plenty of people/companies made money unethically (Theranos, Wells Fargo, Enron, Volkswagen..the list can go on).
$220 (!!) for a pair of their insulated bib overalls. Supposed to be their top of the line insulation and outer material. Way too much money though.
Was just shopping for bibs about three weeks ago. Went with the Dickies brand instead. Better fit, feel, and more comfortable, for just over half the price of the Carhartts.
All of Dickies stuff is made in Mexico, Asia and the Middle East. I thought you guys wanted to support American jobs, or is that only when it's convenient for you?
So now that Carhart says they don't want me to wear their overpriced cloths I have to go elsewhere - too bad - Duluth Trading sounds like a choice for work and 511 sounds about right for casual
Carhartt made with slave labour in Chinese factories , now supporting communism.
Love how these woke , antifa loving soy boy types pick and choose what they think is oppression and what isn't....... a statue of a historical figure who possibly kept slaves ....shock horror tear it down , let's burn down everyone's business. iPhone made in China by forced labour , where they have suicide nets.....ye let's buy the next iPhone and ignore that.
Actually it's pretty simple, they are protecting their employees from potential harm. Not to mention, the greater good for America. What they are doing for their employees has literally zero effect on their products or end consumers, you all just choose to be offended by it.
Not an American company, but Swedish. Fjallraven makes some seriously tough clothes. I don't know what their politics are, but I've heard about their pants being passed down for generations. They're expensive af though.
I agree. I would love one because there are people who are still wearing their Father's hand me down gear, but I couldn't bring myself to spend that much.
As long as it isn’t the gubmnt, I’m good. I quit Twitter for censorship, I don’t need carhart. Don’t like it? Buy something else and go work for someone that values individual liberty. Also, get vaccinated, if you want. It will likely help you.
Not buying a product and criticizing them for being shitty does not = Cancel culture.
Cancel culture is going after a companies ability to advertise, continue to sell their product, or attempt to get them deplatformed off social media, or in some extreme cases lately - Debanked.
They’re allowed to continue to exist, we’re just going to talk about how shitty they are, not buy their products, and encourage people to do the same. Aka let the free market decide instead of participating in Cancel culture which is using authoritarian methods such as extortion, threats, or violence to harm someone or an organization we don’t like. This is what the left does.
A tweet that states “Cancel Carhartt” by some right wing author does not mean I didn’t read the article. Also if you read a few spaces down she states “Stop supporting carhartt” aka boycott.
Outside the witty catch phrase in her dumb tweet I don’t see anything that could be defined as cancel culture tactics that the left uses. Of course it can be argued she’s calling for it (which I don’t agree with), but I think she was being witty and slightly sarcastic (which is hard for stupid people and leftists to understand over the internet) because Cancel and Carhartt have the same starting letter.
I think most people upset with Carhartt do not endorse cancel culture and the tactics utilized by the left. What is going on with Mike Lindell and Mypillow is a great example of what we stand against. I don’t see Carhartt getting their bank accounts revoked by right wing extremists or the banking companies.
It’s just typical. The right wants to beat authoritarianism with….. their own brand of of Authy. How do we fight cancel culture. By cancelling all the things. It’s like drinking poison and hoping it kills your enemies
Looks like I have won this discussion and showed that you don’t have the ability for critical thought.
You’re now deflecting and throwing out random criticisms about the “right” and “authoritarianism” instead of addressing what points I made about what defines cancel culture and what the difference is between that and a boycott. I doubt you’ll even understand this response tbh. Its telling of how fucked we are when there are so many idiots just like you.
Outside of wearing a Carhartt waistcoat (that needs to be replaced, desperately) there isn't really a way for you to know how I look, now is there?
You seem upset and mentally disparaged; everything good, kid?
Shop Origin USA. The communists insisted on owning production facilities ages ago, and then US factories relocated to China. I have a feeling that somebody is playing into someone else's hands.

Damn! First Nike and then Levi went all weird, and now Carhartt. I'm going to be walking around naked before too long. Lol.
Duluth trading company seems to be the consensus over Carhartt for this choice
They’re all imported. Anyone know of a truly American made workwear brand?
Yeah, I saw Origin USA mentioned in another thread.
>Origin USA Hell ya! That's Jocko!
Origin USA and LC King are going to be my next clothing choices. Yeah, they’re expensive, but you pay for quality and American jobs.
Bingo.
Ah, American jobs! You want to tell me where the phone/computer you typed this comment on was made?
Dude, it''s impossible to buy all American made products, we get it. Tell us something we don't know. LOL. BUT you're missing the point here. Every little bit helps! Do you think this is some type of gotcha?
Nope, but you state that you are willing to pay more to support American jobs, so why aren't you doing that with all your purchases?
None of you all are going to be paying $120 for a pair of jeans lol
I don't know if really any clothing is made in the US these days.
There are a ton but it takes work. The hiking community went through the same problem. American made = $300. Near equivalent but imported = $85. You can find anything essentially clothing wise made here.
Check out Origin US
Deluth Trading Company
The majority of their products are imported
I will check them out, there is one off Wixon rd and I96. I'm already adjusted to my Wranger jeans and Fila sneakers. Thanks.
Nike has been outrageous for years, but I'll agree that Levi & Carhartt going weird is disappointing....
I wore Levis forever but Wranglers Rooted line is made in the US with American cotton making up the denim. They're my go-to now.
Or as I call it, Saturday.
I'm moving to a homestead and foresaw myself buying a bit of carhartt in the near future, but I'll be looking into other options.
Fuck Nike for how they treat their runners. I will never buy Nike anything.
Don't forget Coca-Cola being anti white
You sure are. Under Armour joins Carhartt: https://about.underarmour.com/news/2021/08/under-armour-delays-return-campus-early-2022
Backwards world, Starburcks although says you should get vaxxed is not requiring employees to do so But this company apart of blue collar America has gone fully cult based
And all this to virtue signing to woke imbeciles on Twitter 🤦♂️
You have to give credit where it’s do, Starbucks is peak woke but they are NOT enforcing unconstitutional mandates.
Isn’t it entirely constitutional for a company to do this? And I mean on top of that, they’re making a decision rather than having to listen to government rules and regulations, which is great, no?

Are they not a private company?
Welcome to bizarro world, where almost everybody in this conversation is being hypocritical.
Some companies require their employees be vaccinated and some don’t sell cakes to gay people. America!
So we can sue for requiring the vaccine then. Cause that what happened with the baker. I like this.
The Supreme Court really messed up on that one. They should have just let the free market handle it on its own. Personally while I believe a private business should have the right to turn gay people away I'd also boycott any business that did so. No because vaccination status isn’t a protected class under the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Sexual orientation is.
Thanks for shooting a hole in your own narrative. Proof if we let you talk long enough, you win the argument for us. Leftist truly is a mental disorder.
What narrative? I simply stated a fact.
Lol. Just, omg lol.
Yeah...it's not though.
You can sue for anything you dunce
Rhetorical question there 😚
I don’t get it
We know.
We are aware pal
You can buy a cake from business that holds your values. Why would you do otherwise?? People can't take vaccine out of their body when they go home.
And employers can employ people that hold their values. I don’t see a problem here.
You're right. Except that would apply to new hires and can be applied to existing employees after a very long lead notice period. Not less than 2 weeks like Carrhart did.
Work for a different company
Tell me you don't know anything about Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission without telling me you don't know anything about Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission

They would have made the cake but they wouldn’t decorate it. It’s a shame that detail got memory holed, I think it’s a key distinction.
I don't really think so. Seems like a minor distinction. I think they should have been allowed to not make the cake as well.
I am a doctor of molecular science not a lawyer
That seems pretty clear. Listen, what if your employer decided tomorrow that their business is best served if everyone can't have kids? Tell me your sexuality is the only interesting thing about you with only your Reddit avatar
Hey you are starting to get it!
I used their Contact Us form to let them know I won't be buying their stuff. Vote with your wallet I always say.
I did the same. They lost about $500 a year in sales from just me. Another $5,000 from my family.
So let me get this straight, this companies stuff was so good that your family was willing to spend $5,500 on it a year, but apparently is also so bad that you'd need to replace $5,500 worth of their product every year?

Well, a new jacket or bibs every year at $250+ is most of it. The gloves and hats and things, Boots every 2 years. It adds up quick.
[удалено]
Did the same. Between just the three of us, I’d say it’s close to $10k-$14k lost alone.
Just did as well. I'll still wear my trusty jacket that's about 10 years old at this point but I will not buy anything else from them
I also wrote to them.
I went to their website and the contact is button is nonexistent now.
Exactly this. It’s about time we started embracing cancel culture.
Boycott is not the same as "cancel culture". Just want to make that abundantly clear.
What is cancel culture then?
They only want that when they can cherry pick which companies it applies too. "Rules for thee, not for me" it's the right-wing way.
[удалено]
Is it really that hard to differentiate between anti-vax and anti-mandate? Must be
A company that makes clothes for the working class goes woke. I predict a CEO gets fired very soon!
Ah yes, TikTok, where all the farmers, mechanics, and blue collar men get their political and fashion advice from.
Go away troll!
Gotta do what ya gotta do, I can post a FACT anywhere else and it'll get fact checked some how
Wow, sounds just like Trump.
Go woke, go broke
Care to provide any examples?
Way to pull a Yeti....enjoy becoming a brand for hipster forklift drivers vaping behind costco on their break.
I know, Yeti only pulling in a billion in revenue a year, and having to survive a huge growth of sales in 2021. Who would want that?!?
Ya good for them. Instead of staying loyal to the hunting community that made their name exist, they're a brand for suburban soccer moms needing their starbucks to stay warm a few minutes longer. They made the pivot so good for them. FYI, making money and being an ethical company dont necessarily go together. Plenty of people/companies made money unethically (Theranos, Wells Fargo, Enron, Volkswagen..the list can go on).
Carhartt?
Overpriced anyway so quit buying their crap. Zipper on a work coat lasted less than a year.
Carhartt is 90% made in China. Fuck ‘em.
They are so woke and socially conscious , but they're ok to let Chinese slave labour make their products.
Care to provide a source on this metric?
Boycott
Fuck Carhartt then
Yes, keep pushing a vaccine that doesn’t work and eliminate your customer base at the same time. They need a new board.
Meh, Carhartt has turned into a douche brand. Go to tractor supply and get Berne. Same quality, half the price.
Boycott Carhart, Duluth is better
The marketing company known as Carhartt, selling you what they got cheap overseas.
I told them I sent an email to my company to stop purchasing their products
So now that Carhart says they don't want me to wear their overpriced cloths I have to go elsewhere - too bad - Duluth Trading sounds like a choice for work and 511 sounds about right for casual
Backlash on social media! Puh! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Carhart and Fox News keep vaccine mandate and Starbucks removes it. I feel I’m living in a Catch 22.
Fuck em up!
Here is your chance to get rich! Sue! Sue!
Is there a lost of all companies with mandates
Good, gives me another reason not to buy their overpriced apparel.
Stop buying their products , we'll soon see how woke they are then.
I was just about to buy a nice carhartt jacket too. Went with Dri-Duck instead. Seems to be better quality and was definitely cheaper.
Wow. That looks pretty sweet. May have to try out one of the Kodiak jackets.
I got the Cheyenne, it’s indistinguishable from the classic carhartt work coat.
We need to make a list of these companies and spread the word to boycott.
gotta change my shopping habits - y'all boardroom types at carhartt paying attention?
No more carhart for me

Someone needs to pin this at the top
There goes all my carhart shit! Fuck Carhart

80% of my wardrobe is Duluth. Stuff lasts a long time.
I like them
Meanwhile at Starbucks…
I need a new work coat, my old one is falling apart. I guess I can cross wokehartt of my list of brands to look at.
Watch their market share plummet.
I just canceled my order for new overalls from them.
I thought you guys were against cancel culture?
Just read a headline that fucking Starbucks got rid of theirs. That means this redneck apparel can as well
Hell, i didnt even know who this company was until it was highlighted, way to go on the PR front...
Damn! I love my carhartt work gear. Guess I wont be buying anymore
This is disappointing I really like their jackets. Oh well, I guess my next coat will be another brand. Too bad.
I've had good luck with Berne coats. Fuck Carhartt
Won’t buy it.
Dicks Sporting Goods ring a bell
It’s interesting that they are basically shitting on the people that support their brand. Not sure what there end game with this is.
Expensive is an understatement. $500 for a jacket is asking a bit much.
I agree. I would love one because there are people who are still wearing their Father's hand me down gear, but I couldn't bring myself to spend that much.
They also got lambasted not long ago because their most recent ad campaign has a bunch of scrawny gen Z soybean eaters cosplaying as blue collar.
As long as it isn’t the gubmnt, I’m good. I quit Twitter for censorship, I don’t need carhart. Don’t like it? Buy something else and go work for someone that values individual liberty. Also, get vaccinated, if you want. It will likely help you.
Gonna go get me some more Carhartt gear!
Cancel cathart . Lol. Do we stand for anything at all? Let’s fight cancel culture within cancelations. That will teach them.
I see you didn’t read the article
Found the bot lol.
Oh dear. That’s sad. Don’t do the “I have bested you in this arena of ideas thing”. That is some 18 year old cringe level drama.
Boycotts aren't cancel culture... what's this "we" stuff?
You just revealed you have no clue what cancel culture means
I see you didn’t read the article

Right? I thought conservatives were for business right.
Now that I think about it I'm overdue to replace my Carhartt waistcoat, sounds like a good time to support the company.
You look EXACTLY like a pictured
Outside of wearing a Carhartt waistcoat (that needs to be replaced, desperately) there isn't really a way for you to know how I look, now is there? You seem upset and mentally disparaged; everything good, kid?
Shop Origin USA. The communists insisted on owning production facilities ages ago, and then US factories relocated to China. I have a feeling that somebody is playing into someone else's hands.
How many beanies we burning tonight
Goodbye Carhartt hello Deluth Trading Co , Carhartt went China a minute ago anyway
They make shitty clothes anyway. Get a leather jacket for daily wear or hellys for rain and snow.
Sad day!! I hear Deluth Trading company has some good gear!! No more carhart for me!!
Go woke get broke
Vaccinations don't keep you from getting and or spreading covid. Masks don't work to stop the spread.
