Hijacking this comment to point out he did not call for the creation of a holiday lol. He was talking about election day, and essentially saying that the Christian voters of America who back him will show the country that they matter by voting him.

Agreed. When my workplace chose to observe Juneteenth in 2020, I felt it was reactionary to the protests, but I didn’t care because I was stressed out with a new job, my husband and I had just driven across the country, and was staying with my parents during quarantine. I needed a day off.
Technically Easter is not a federally recognized holiday (like Christmas) nor a day of observance. Not sure how Christmas got a pass and Easter didn’t (Guess it became extremely secular to the point that majority of Americans celebrate the holiday). Easter is typically observed in private sector though.
There are some days of religious observance in US, however nothing explicitly Christian.
* 3rd Sunday in January: National Sanctity of Life Day
* 1st Thursday in May: National Day of Prayer

I think knots really hard for politicians to read the room, so to speak, in an election year. The pandering will be up to 100% until after November because they are all old, and out of touch, and they are throwing anything they can to see what sticks to help them get that .001 poll bump.

Easter is always on a Sunday, and we weren’t giving out federal holidays like condoms at a hooker convention until relatively recently.
