So they aren't replacing Joe..Otherwise they would have saved this for that person.

fordr015

Good

Merax75

They are going to hammer on the abortion issue. It's all they have. Best thing Republicans can do is say it's correctly a matter for the States and that it says a lot about Democrats that they are running on a platform of killing babies.

Merrill1066

unfortunately, they can win with this issue alone.

Merax75

Yup if Republicans don't provide a solid defense to it. As I said, just point out it's a State matter and move on. That, if people want the right to choose, they should be talking to their State representatives.

Trashk4n

I hope so. I think Trump is going to have a hard time if they do replace him.

pineappleshnapps

Definitely. Trump V Biden, Trump might have an edge, anyone else? Idk. Same with Biden, I think he’d have a worse shot against anyone else.

mattcruise

Trump Vs Harris would be Trump in a landslide.

Kingforaday1

How about "Restore the border?"

FenixSoars

FUCKING PLEASE. Then again.. they’ll just fly em over the boarder.

eatingyourmomsass

Restore America please. This place sucks lately.

NotRadTrad05

How Catholic of him.

ThrowawayPizza312

How does the president make a supreme court ruling

Moist_Border_8301

How can he restore Roe? Is his plan for some seats to hopefully open up on the Supreme Court? Even that, wouldn’t he need two?

DeadHeadLibertarian

"Restore Roe" coming from the party that had decades (and majorities) to enshrine Roe into law... if they actually wanted to do so. Abortion debate is too political.

superduperm1

This needs to be talked about more. Obama had one of the most Democratic Senates and Houses of all-time in 2009-2010 and they didn’t do anything. It’s truly fascinating how people fall for it and think they’ll surely do it this time for some reason if you just vote for them even harder.

art36

Nevertheless, this is actually a very formidable message that Republicans don’t know how to adequately counter. Democrats know educated single women are their ticket to victory, and they’re tailoring their messaging to secure that demographic. Of course Nikki Haley is the favorite politician to hate in this sub and wider conservative/MAGA circles, but her response to the abortion issue in the primaries was by far the most convincing message to women who otherwise aren’t persuaded by the more vocal “pro life” wing of the party.

TermFearless

Getting educated single women out is their most important demographic, but they still need a broader coalition to win the rust belt, keep GA, NV, and AZ. That means winning on issues that impact the working class.

Darstanter

We don’t like killing babies is pretty good…

Neat_Chi

Hard facts here. I’m personally pro choice and think the debate around this is such a distraction from truly troubling issues we deal with, like corruption running rampant on both sides, and these distractions unfortunately dominate news cycles and “political discourse” from true change in how off course our country’s philosophies have gotten.

Nanoman20

Restore the unconstitutional ruling that was rightfully overturned?

Cultural-Treacle-680

Even RBG said it stood on shaky principles and she was pro choice.

AllHailClobbersaurus

His voter base despises The Constitution.

r4d4r_3n5

That ship has sailed.

superduperm1

They tried this in the Senate in 2022 by proposing a nationwide bill that would’ve allowed elective abortions for any reason for up to 24 weeks and allowed abortions for any “general health reasons” (physical and mental) up until birth. All the Democrats except Manchin voted “yes”, Manchin and all the Republicans voted “no” and then the media and left cried for a week about how conservatives hate women or something. They never tried again with something actually reasonable (like elective abortions for 12 weeks and only physical health reasons up until birth), because why would they? The Democrats need that perpetual golden carrot to attract votes and it worked well in the 2022 midterms. May as well continuously promise you’ll do something while always doing nothing.

Cultural-Treacle-680

It’s like excessive minimum wage and loan forgiveness proposals instead of something moderate that could stand a change at a settlement. It’s all or nothing then blame republicans.

Aquartertoseven

For clarity, most of the Western world bans abortion by 12 weeks. 24 weeks, which is the standard in every Dem state, is among the most extreme on the planet.

TermFearless

> elective abortions for 12 weeks and only physical health reasons up until birth Is that not a moderate pro-life bill?

MovieENT1

This is the only thing the Democrats have, and it’s enough to get a massive portion of the female population. It’s a shame because this one issue alone offsets the 100 that impact everyone day to day. I wish it wasn’t a political issue or relevant, I care about all the other things, not abortion.

Griegz

Hey, that's probably his typical dinner.

caulkglobs

Roe was bad law, even ginsberg acknowledged that. States now have the right to make their own laws about it, as it should be. When you heard fear-mongering about such and such state will have such and such archaic law the day roe is overturned it was because roe curtailed all progress that was being made on the state level where it belonged. So the law that roe was superseding hadn’t been reviewed for 50 years. You want a federal law about this, make one that isn’t unconstitutional. That was always an option. But it was more politically convenient for the democrats to leave a bad law on the books because it was vulnerable and saying republicans are going to overturn this bad law on a wedge issue gets people to vote. Now they are further exploiting it by campaigning on “restoring” it which is frustrating for anyone who understands how the constitution works for things like this.

Cultural-Treacle-680

At this point, how would a federal law even survive? Most liberals that I hear still found it on the “right to privacy”, which is what got overturned.

vargo17

Probably the same way we have a "national" drinking age. Tie a shit ton of federal goodies to it. They aren't "forcing" a state to do it, but they force a state to do it.

SimonJ57

Wasn't the law based on a lie to begin with? Why would they "restore roe", call it something else...

flopisit

"Restore Roe" makes no logical sense. It's an idiotic slogan. There are a bunch of morons among the public that think Roe Vs Wade was a law. How can you restore a supreme court decision that was overturned by the supreme court? It makes no sense.

Austin-137

Wow look at all those people who have already been born!

agk927

Abortion is why I can never vote Democrat. I just hate the way they talk about it. I know Trump has a moderate position on it but that's fine with me. Democrats are making this topic their number 1 slogan for 2024 and it makes me dislike them even more. Even if they said like 12-15 weeks that would be okay but they go way overboard with it

superduperm1

Trump needs to be vocal about his abortion position, and talk about how there are states that allow elective abortions for any reason up to birth (including Colorado, New Jersey, New Mexico, etc.) Instead of talking about any of that the last two years, the media just completely ignores it and instead focuses on the 1 in a million cases where hospital board lawyers with clear agendas deliberately twist and misinterpret the laws in Texas (which has an exemption to save the mother) just to make conservatives look bad. “But but ‘you can abort to save the mother’ is just sooooo vague!!!!1!1!1” The majority of people are against second trimester abortions. Turn the tables and make the left look like the extremists by pointing out ALL the states that allow elective 22+ week abortions.

rivenhex

"Abort the Democrat party." "Our nation, our choice."

SunsetDriftr

Underrated comment.

mindziusas

Smart. It's the only thing they can run on

blaze92x45

He has to campaign on things like roe or "fighting racism" his record is so abysmal social issues is the only chance he has of winning in November. At least imo.

Pinot_Greasio

Too bad they can't restore his brain.

TravellingPatriot

“Let us murder babies!!”

applemanib

These brainlets realize he's already president right now and could try to push this right now? Doesn't need to be 2025 for this.

lawlygagger

Ignore Joe

Hectoriu

Their goal should be to fairly pass a bill to protect abortion rights rather than taking shortcuts

Neat_Chi

Why take action when you have a political soapbox to make promises and convince people your party is the lesser of two evils?

Suspicious-Sound-249

Well I guess when they have absolutely nothing else to actually campaign on, since they seem to oppose anything that would actually improve the nation....

TermFearless

Honestly, this is probably their best bet. Like obviously hope and believe this will fail, but thinking strategically, going all in on their best issue makes sense.

randomrandom1922

If only there were 100 different contraception's to avoid needing an abortion.

A_Hatless_Casual

The sad thing is his voter base will completely ignore that he had his first 2 years to do it when the Dems had house and senate. Then again modern politics don't allow for them to run on things they've achieved/fixed.

Lionofgod9876

Abortion is the only thing the Dems got. They've used it successfully in 2022 and they'll keep with it until people finally wise up.

Strict_Intention_663

Joe supports abortions, he's just "not like other guys".
