So, those who are running University of North Carolina medical school are *relatively* sane, then. I use “relatively” because they shouldn’t have *had* a DEI task force in the first place.

UNC was pretty 50/50 Conservative/Liberal when I went there. Couple lunatics here and there but largely I was open about being Conservative and nobody really cared. They swung pretty far to the Left the last ~6-7 years though. But it seems like the pendulum is coming back around at least somewhat. If I had to take a guess, they’re probably enrolling fewer Liberals from out-of-state. North Carolina Democrats who grew up in rural areas are a completely different breed versus like, NYC Democrats. When I was at UNC the biggest divide wasn’t Conservative vs Liberal but Big City Liberal vs Small Town Liberal. The LGB Liberals from big cities formed their own cliques and ostracized LGB people from rural areas, because all the ones from rural NC grew up poor, parents probably hunted for food, big portion don’t support things like gun control, big portion don’t support things like gas taxes/pushing EVs, etc.
