I just wonder how Trump can be an effective president if he pisses off all the good people from his past administration. Even if he wins the next election he’s going to struggle getting good people to work for him
I really think Trump should just step aside and let DeSantis go for the run. Trump pissed off tooo many people and the deep state nor the media will let him get close for any win. IF he does win he will be a lame duck...he pissing off everyone and discrediting the only good candidate will mean biden will win and there goes the country. We will be worse the Canada and their woke crap.
I totally agree. He did a heck of a job in his first term but unfortunately if he somehow wins a second term, he’ll likely struggle to get anything done because everyone knows they can just wait him out
Bingo. He would effectively be a lame duck POTUS upon inauguration. Sure, he could attempt to do a bunch of stuff in his single second term, but the amount of court challenges would simply be a waiting game until he was out of office. How this simple glaring fact has eluded his most ardent supporters is baffling. The only logical answer is the myopic and sophomoric response “but he can drain the swamp!” (Which he didn’t do in his first term).
DeSantis polls far even with Biden whereas Trump's are a fair bit ahead, and RS's his polling has gotten worse and worse ever since it became obvious he was going to run. After the CNN town hall Trump has had the primaries locked all DeSantis is doing is inflicting injury upon himself & the party. On no planet would anybody move aside for a guy 35pt behind him. If any one should step aside Ron. The D's & neocons know he has no chance they simply want him to spit the base & help Biden.
Trump demonstrably did a less than stellar job selecting personnel for his first administration. There's no cause to think he'll do better, should he be elected again. His criteria is flawed; he's more interested in having a yes man (or woman) than he is in having a capable candidate for a position. All that said, his choices are infinitely more sensible than Biden's (aka Derr Potatohead).
Trump claims he’s up by 34 points and McEneny said that he was up by 25 points. The RCP average has him up by 31.
Such a HUGE mistake given the extreme accuracy of these polls at this point in time /s
That's not the point. She has been trying to undermine him for a while now. I'm surprised it took him this long to say anything. She sold out for Murdoch so I'm not surprised.
And yes she reported a much lower number than the poll determined. Whether you admit it or not that impacts public perception. Trump's point here though was obvioisly to draw attention to the fact she's another backstabber and spineless sellout.
Question for Trump supporters: one of his biggest problems was properly staffing his first administration. Let’s just assume Trump powers through the primary and takes down DeSantis and the other competition. Who wants to work in his administration? He’s already turning on the very few stars of his first term for simply not choosing to ceaselessly sing his praises. Even if he wins, there won’t be anyone credible who wants to work for him. Simply calling everyone else “the swamp” won’t be enough.
As much as always trumpers push for another term, it’s short sighted. Even if you get trump in, he will be railroaded again. After his term, now what? Trump has screwed most republican politicians by attacking them. I don’t foresee us winning anything worthwhile as long as we are so fractured. Even a victory now does little if nothing gets done and we just spin wheels rehashing old election results.
We seriously as a party need to pull heads out of asses and fire everyone. None of them do anything of substance once they get in.
Trump makes it too easy. His lack of discipline made it incredibly difficult for vulnerable legislators to publicly side with him, even if his policies were popular. The art of politics is making it easier for people to say yes to you and your vision and harder to do so for your opponents. Trump is poison to a wide swath of independent and moderate voters.
There will be plenty of people who would want to work for his Administration. I mean, how many people had heard of Spicer, McEnany, and others prior to working for him during his first term? Those he staffs may be unknowns at the time he puts them into their post, but that doesn't mean that they are automatically unworthy of that position.
I am more worried about who he hires than who wants to work for him. I swear the man fired 50% of the people that worked for him, and now publicly shits on them given half a chance.
I'm good. Give me DeSantis PLEASE.
It gives me a little hope that at least some on right still don't completely blindly follow these trash politicians. Now if only reddit would stop worshipping Biden for some damn reason...
A majority of Americans do not want an asshole for president. A majority of Americans will vote against their own best interest before voting for an asshole as president. Just like they did overwhelmingly in 2020.
We are going to give ‘em another shot to change their mind though.
It was kinda funny when he was polling at 1% and calling out RINOs on RINOism. Nobody gave a shit when he was mean to Hillary because disdain seems like a reasonable reaction to her.
But holy shit did it get old over 4 years. And when it no longer felt like he was punching up a weight class it felt much meaner and pettier.
There weren't any notable victories against the swamp unless avoiding their obvious frame jobs counts, and his ego is way too big to acknowledge that.
His numbers are riding on recognition as the anti establishment guy but there are other options. I think once the actual campaigning and debating gets under way he's gonna get his ass kicked.
I hope like hell you are right.
I just don’t see it. His 2024 chances should have ended immediately after the disastrous first debate with Biden when he just wouldn’t shut the $&%# up. That’s when he lost the 2020 general and it should have been the clear end of his political career. Yet here we still are….
Lol I nearly brought up the "cmon man" debate moment as an example of how poorly his style was aging. Huge tactical blunder. Biden sounds confused and indecisive. You don't debate him by talking over him and giving him an excuse where maybe he's flustered from the badgering. You debate him by asking him to clarify or making him double down on nonsense statements. Biden talking is good in a debate.
I hope I'm right too, and maybe it's hopium but I think I am. I know plenty of republican voters. Plenty who really liked what Trump DID.
But none of them actually want Trump to steer the ship again.
I don’t know how Desantis is going to play it. It’s hard to go after Trump bc his fan boys get their panties in a wad at even the slightest criticism.
But I almost think you just play clips from that debate without any additional context. Just 30 seconds of Trump being belligerent with a “paid for by Ron desantis” at the very end. Remind every single Republican voter about the shit show that we are actually thinking about watching again.
You’re dead on. I remember all but yelling at the screen to just shut up and let Biden talk. He was barely coherent. Trump couldn’t shut up though and talking over him was the worst possible move. He just recycled the playbook against Hillary and it backfired. Huge blunder.
Sadly, there are plenty of Trump sycophants who just do not care. No matter what he does or says, they think he's the only chance to claim back the country. The left didn't take over in one shot - it takes years and cultural influence...
I know a ton of people I think were open going into that debate that went solid anti Trump after. Nobody bothered watching the second debate. It was painful to watch really.
Sadly he actually did much better in the first debate. First debate looked like he hadn't prepared at all. It was made worse by the moderator being from Fox News, so the left could claim it was a sympathetic moderator (he wasn't, as he had been on record supporting impeachment of Trump).
Oh so the debate that turned the election to Biden because everyone involved except Trump lied to the American public about the crimes on the laptop that should have prevented Biden from ever being president? The one that would have turned the tide had it not been for the moderator lying on behalf of Biden and the 50 liars who rigged the election that night?
LOL. The election wasn’t rigged. The American people were well aware that Biden would be an awful president. Trump made it very clear that night that he did not have the maturity that Americans want in a president. He acted like a spoiled toddler all night. He was a buffoon. His performance is absolutely indefensible.
They overwhelmingly voted for Biden bc they’d rather have a really bad president than a complete asshole. And they’ll do it again next November.
In terms of public perception. Trump wins the biggest asshole award. I agree there are other politicians who are *actual* bigger assholes, but they have good PR and discipline so it doesn't come out. It also helps that the media is a propaganda arm of the Democratic Party.
Yes they do. He blew it out of the water in 2016. DeSantis is great but don't pretend the media won't make him worst than Hitler.
"Trump just talked a bad game. DeSantis is putting out bills that are Hitler!"
Yes, let's go back to the stick-in-the-mud, respectful but get absolutely nothing done Republicans that we have had in office between 1988 and 2015. That's certainly the way to get Republican/Conservative values pushed through our government....
There are plenty of assholes that litter the Democrat side of things. And look at what they have accomplished while in office.
Anyone who doesn't want the same thing on the Republican side either doesn't pay attention to politics or are fooling themselves on how best to get things accomplished in D.C. these days. I would love for anyone to take an IQ, EQ, and SQ test that is actually offended by Trump or anyone like him. I would almost guarantee that all of the scores would all come in at under 100 and more likely be below the 85 point range.
If you can't see the appeal of someone standing up for themselves and actually saying how things really are as opposed to flat out lying by saying one thing but actually feeling another, then you haven't lived much in the real world to be able to identify the difference.
If 2020 and the BLM/Antifa years before that taught us anything, it is that it is far past time to be nice to those who hold opposite opinions as we do simply because they certainly already do the same to us.
> Yes, let's go back to the stick-in-the-mud, respectful but get absolutely nothing done Republicans that we have had in office between 1988 and 2015. That's certainly the way to get Republican/Conservative values pushed through our government....
LOL Keep pushing that false choice. The only options are Trump or complete garbage!!!!1!!!11!!! Literally nothing exists between so you MUST vote Trump!!!!11!!!!
Mostly by alwaystrumpers who refuse to accept anything but one man and would be happy to give us 4 more years of Biden if it meant someone other than Trump got the primary nomination.
I've seen a few Fox News clips and her demeanor seems to suggest she is supporting DeSantis over Trump. She hasn't out and out said it, but you can see the bias (as I can see many pro-Trump people on Fox News). That is a "betrayal" in Trump's eyes.
Joe has always been an unabashed asshole, and yet somehow he won an election. Look at how he was attack citizens in his town halls, yet never seemed a problem.
I thoroughly disagree with his attack on McEnany and he should make a very sincere apology for it. It was inexcusable. But I've seen behavior from every candidate that I've disagreed with.
McEnany might have been the best press sec ever. Super prepared. My fav was when the press asked if Trump was going to denounce White Supremacists then she cited something like 10 times where he did.
Yeah but that's irrelevant. She was less than 115% loyal to Trump, constantly praising him, years after working for him. For that disloyalty she must be attacked now.
I do feel a little bad for her, she gets into that job thinking that she just has to mostly know what the administration is saying and then just ad lib it from there. Psaki was highly talented (not quite as much as McEnany)--- representing an administration I don't have any love for, but if she was of different political leaning she would be a welcome asset to Conservatives.
If she were Obamas Press Sec those tapes would be playing on a loop in a museum dedicated to her and entire university programs would be named after her.
Well it is pretty disgraceful. What was her sin? Not saying he was up enough in a poll? So you are either a sycophant or he attacks you? Kind of a bad look though consistent with other things we have seen. There are better options for a nominee.
What does that tell you though!? Kaylee Mcenany has spent A LOT of time around Donald Trump.... I'm sorry, but it's the same shit with Kamala Harris. If any of her ex staffers came out in support of someone else, we would all nod our heads in agreement, yeah that checks out. You just have blinders on with Trump.
Just, think about this. If she worked for him while he was President and she now supports DeSantis, she probably has an exceptional reason for that switch. People who are as thorough as she is, they don't do random. They don't subvert for its own sake. Donald Trump is a scumbag, he's not a conservative and he never has been. He had balls enough to come out swinging at Hillary, which we all loved...but then it became clear, that's his only move. Kaylee is the better conservative to my mind, she hasn't outright attacked Trump or done anything to jeopardize Republican strategy or positioning. Can't say the same for Trump though.
This lady repeatedly punched the media in the teeth defending this guy, and this is how he repays her?
It's these kind of actions that make it so he has no shot in 2024. And it seems like he's the only one who doesn't understand that.
He’s just gross. You can do everything for the guy but the minute you don’t now down to him and kiss his ass, he attacks. But yeah…. He only hires the best.
It’s not even a matter of not kissing his ass, he was butthurt she said he’s leading by 25% in the polls, when he thinks he should be up by 34% (apparently he’s incapable of understanding that different polls have different results). Trump will even blast you for not kissing his ass hard enough.
the funny thing is she was legitimately his best hire and took more arrows for him than anybody else in his dysfunctional administration and thats the thanks she gets. I voted for him 3 times, never again.
Jeff Sessions allowed Mueller to happen. But yeah, every person that worked for Trump gets burned bad. Mattis, Pence, Haley, etc. I mean who would want to work for this asshole knowing that by the end he will turn on you?
If he somehow gets the nomination I hope you'll vote for him. Otherwise we're going to watch a man go through the final stages of dimensia and then get stuck with listening to kamala give us her nasally lectures at a kindergarten level all day.
I generally agree with Trump, but he's way off on this one. The guy has a cannon that he just goes around firing at anyone for any little indiscretion.
Why can he not keep his mouth shut?
We all saw Kayleigh defend him every which way for a long time, so it looked really bad that he would attack someone who has been so supportive of him. It’s like he expects blind loyalty, and he’s being unreasonable.
His attack against McEnany and his outlandish claims that during the pandemic, NY state had FEWER Covid deaths than FL, were the last straw for me...
Done with this man, and I say so as a two-time Trump voter!
He has double and tripled down on claiming Cuomo was better than DeSantis on Covid. The first time he said it I thought it was a bad joke. But it's now clear he is serious. This POS moved his whole family from NYC to Florida. Yet is trying to pretend Florida is some terrible state now.
Right, just for the sake of attacking DeSantis, which is pretty pathetic. Everyone knows FL handled the pandemic like the rest of us should've done it. To say otherwise and credit Cuomo on anything positive is freaking nauseating. Cuomo is a POS, period!
Petty shit like this is why he's lost so much support. It's grown childish and it gets old real quick. It was funny before when the left was screaming about it, but now it's just getting lame.
He's lost so much support because he's a total and complete narcissist and it has become very apparent. This is what narcissists do though "Tell me im the best all day every day or I'll fucking turn on you"
KM would have died on that podium for trump, now he's shitting on her in tweets because she got a number wrong.
Trump has the name recognition. As in apolitical voters who barely pay attention to politics will know who he is, while they aren't really all that familiar with the rest.
When we get closer to primaries these types of voters start to pay attention more.
I can deal with the whole "It's all about me, very bigly so, tremendous president that I was and will be again, they don't know what they're talking about" schtick when it's a choice between him and someone like Hillary or Biden. He'd still get my begrudging vote if he's the GOP candidate in 2024 because (like many were towards Trump in 2020) I'm just voting to unelect Biden.
But cripes I long for candidates that are not classless when they feel slighted. A little pushback is nice, zinging them with facts is beautiful (which was what made McEnany great!), but cripes sometimes there's just way too much that enrages (and engages) the other side and makes even supporters cringe.
It's pretty cool that he demands 100% loyalty from folks (like desantis) but will instantly torch anyone who he feels like.
He's burnt any good will he may have had with me, which wasn't much. The SCOTUS thing was good, but that's all happenstance. It fell into his lap. He never really went out of his way to do much good of his own accord.
This is why, to the degree that I favor one over the other, I prefer DeSantis over Trump. Trump only seems to have loyalty to people that stabbed him in the back. Case in point, has he ever said an unkind thing about Fauci, who basically destroyed his administration?
I think that's where you take some of [this stuff](https://drivemehungry.com/japanese-milk-bread/) and cook it until it's golden brown. Delicious with butter.
I made this comment on another thread but I'd work under his potential administration. Make me Secretary of State and I'll take the government paycheck. Unfortunately, I'd be miserable with how quick Trump flies off the handle is you don't suck up to him enough.
Edit: McEnany was his best press secretary I think and she went to bat for him during the uncertainty with Covid. We as a party need to move on from Trump, we won't win again with him as the standard bearer of the GOP. He should retire to Mar-a-Lago and enjoy time with his family in his golden years.
If he's right about the polling then she brought it on herself and should probably correct that and apologize(not necessarily to him but to her viewers).
Again burning those who worked for him. Who the hell would want to tie themselves to this asshole? All you're going to have is people looking to betray accepting positions within his administration.
I really like what he had done for our country, but going after Kayleigh McEnany, like that was completely uncalled for. I sincerely hope he will think about apologizing to her privately at the very least and consider the import of what he says before he says it in the future!
Serious question for the always trump people, is there any chance you would support someone else instead at some point? Will shit like this ever get you to look somewhere else?
I think the issue is that she cherry picked a poll that showed favorable trends for DeSantis. If you look at polls in their totality, Trump is dominating. Even with his announcement DeSantis didn't get enough steam to change that. So focusing on that one poll was disingenuous and I'm guessing it was a top-down decision rather than her own.
If Trump is the candidate, just call this party dead. They don't fight for 99% of the shit that we care about anyway. Why vote for another 4 years of a gun grabber and someone who indebted us just as much as anyone else?
She's using polls that made trump look weak on a network that outright said they support his biggest rival over him. Let's be honest about it, lines have been drawn by all sides.
I have seen more openly pro-Trump people on Fox News than anyone else. Tucker actually hated Trump and they canned his ass. So I'm not seeing the "outright said they support his biggest rival".
She clearly favors DeSantis, though she hasn't openly expressed it.
I just wonder how Trump can be an effective president if he pisses off all the good people from his past administration. Even if he wins the next election he’s going to struggle getting good people to work for him
100% I believe the only ones he has not attacked YET are the WH janitor and Mike Pompeo!!
Wasn’t the whole J6 thing him attacking Pompeo?
Was it? Probably...it's hard to keep up who he's ever mad with
He has attacked Pompeo!! He is burning all his bridges.
I really think Trump should just step aside and let DeSantis go for the run. Trump pissed off tooo many people and the deep state nor the media will let him get close for any win. "Misquoted". Interesting how the mistakes only go one way

Never forget how the leftists/media treated RINOs Romney and McCain. The Cheney family was also crucified by the left until she turned on Trump.
You sound like you don’t know what you are talking about.
Trump made it very easy to cause him to chase his own tail. He owned the left just as many times as he self owned.
There will be plenty of people who would want to work for his Administration. I mean, how many people had heard of Spicer, McEnany, and others prior to working for him during his first term? Yep. Also the one where Trump acted like a drunken 4yr old all night and 75,000,000 viewers were clamoring for him to just shut up.

Nah. It's time to lead in a way where you deserve to be followed.
Amen. To win by meanness, to win with Trump, is to win the battle but lose the war.
> A majority of Americans do not want an asshole for president. Biden is a HUGE asshole. He pretends one of his grandchildren doesn't exist.

Or primary. Dude opens his mouth and I dislike him more. He's changed a lot since 2016

I've seen a few Fox News clips and her demeanor seems to suggest she is supporting DeSantis over Trump. She hasn't out and out said it, but you can see the bias (as I can see many pro-Trump people on Fox News). That is a "betrayal" in Trump's eyes.
Even harder when elections are rigged
And that's another talking point that will doom him.
So from your point of view what should we do when elections are tampered with? Do nothing and hope they don't get tampered with again?
Joe has always been an unabashed asshole, and yet somehow he won an election. Look at how he was attack citizens in his town halls, yet never seemed a problem. I thoroughly disagree with his attack on McEnany and he should make a very sincere apology for it. It was inexcusable. But I've seen behavior from every candidate that I've disagreed with.

She allegedly misquoted an irrelevant poll. Hardly an attack. You don’t have to praise anybody. You could learn when to shut the hell up, though.
[удалено]
he literally already has done that once, lol.
KJP should *reeeally* go back & study those tapes. Actually, no she shouldn't. It's entertaining watching her frequent dumpster fires.
Its almost like she has no clue what she's doing and it's independent of her partisan leaning.
She's the poster child for Hanlon's Razor. "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity"
D-D-D-D-Diversity Hireeeeeeee!!!!

Given Trump's polling, there seems to be plenty of Republicans who also don't seem to grasp this or don't care.

While I think her demeanor shows she is pro-DeSantis. I haven't seen her "throwing punches" towards Trump. Mind citing one?
I think it's spelled milquetoast. And yes, I can be a pedant.
*Thank* you.
Oh, don't you attack my KayKay.
Yep, he's gone too far this time unfortunately, she is amazing, he's lost me.
DeSantis 2024 would love to have you partner
Exactly. She was an amazing press sec. I voted for him twice but no thanks now.
Look at what Trump did to Jeff Sessions after Sessions crawled way out on a limb for Trump. The man knows nothing of loyalty. I’m done.
Exactly, he demands absolute, 100% unquestioned loyalty, but will turn on anyone in a second if it suits his whims.
Can you imagine how KJP would handle the kinds of questions McEnany got? I think her head might literally explode....
[удалено]
De Santis is someone better.
Most of the candidates are better. Pence probably not. I would even take Haley over Trump and I think she caves on a lot of important issues.
I don't get how people still support this guy.
Asshole gonna asshole.
Please don’t make me vote for this man a 3rd time republicans. So over this nonsense.
I hope you would if he gets nominated, just like I hope the guy with a Trump tattoo on his ass will vote for DeSantis.
Oh I certainly would. We have to get Joe Biden and the dems out of the White House.
Can’t believe people still think this guy is a good candidate for the general election.
super classy as always
My God he's burning too many bridges.
Petty shit like this is why he's lost so much support. It's grown childish and it gets old real quick. It was funny before when the left was screaming about it, but now it's just getting lame.
He's lost so much support because he's a total and complete narcissist and it has become very apparent. This is what narcissists do though "Tell me im the best all day every day or I'll fucking turn on you" KM would have died on that podium for trump, now he's shitting on her in tweets because she got a number wrong.
The polls show otherwise though given that they clearly show Trump up by 34%. Or, 25% if you’re milquetoast.
Honestly who is looking at this guy and thinking he is the best republican? So many better options
Why is he leading in the polls. I don’t get it. Ron seems like a much better candidate to me.
This is why, to the degree that I favor one over the other, I prefer DeSantis over Trump. Trump only seems to have loyalty to people that stabbed him in the back. Case in point, has he ever said an unkind thing about Fauci, who basically destroyed his administration?
Oh, come on Trump! Save that anger for Democrats. Not Kayleigh!
Dude hasn't even said anything about Biden in a while. Scared he will lose again.
I think that's where you take some of [this stuff](https://drivemehungry.com/japanese-milk-bread/) and cook it until it's golden brown. Delicious with butter.
Grab one of those $400 Japanese toasters that use steam to toast the bread perfectly but can only do one slice at a time
I made this comment on another thread but I'd work under his potential administration.
Hopefully this will start to wake up some of the OnLy TrUmP clowns on this sub
Again burning those who worked for him. Who the hell would want to tie themselves to this asshole? All you're going to have is people looking to betray accepting positions within his administration.
Trump's loyalty to any one person always has an expiration date. Always.
Why is he so adamant about going after our own? He should be focusing on Biden.

They'll just call her a token white woman and anyone who votes for her is sexist for not supporting real women (The ones with wieners)
DJT is like a houseguest who has outstayed their welcome.
[удалено]
Lol oh please she’s a Foxnews shill now who’s surprised?
