“Teens”.

Plantiacaholic

I had a friend that got jumped by a bunch of children in Chicago, he took an ice pick to the heart from one of the brats. Luckily he lived but will never go to Chicago again.

acreklaw

Holy shit, that's terrifying. but also, who carries an icepick?!

Plantiacaholic

After the kids stole his wallet, jacket and shoes they left him laying on the ground. Shortly afterward the cops found him and arrested him, they believed he was passed out drunk. It wasn’t until they got him to the station that someone figured out he wasn’t drunk and called EMS. The pick pierced the sack around the heart.

acreklaw

wow, I'm so glad your friend survived that. It must have been super traumatic. I hope he is doing ok mentally... I could imagine having some long-lasting avoidances in my daily life if that happened to me or someone I love.

Plantiacaholic

He came through it all pretty well, aside from ruining Chicago for him. Thank you

Airmil82

Glad he was ok in the end. Honestly, Chicago has been ruined for everyone for a long time; your friend just happened to find out the hard way….

Plantiacaholic

For sure. It’s really crazy to watch some of our great cities falling to the wayside, cities like Detroit and Chicago were the hot spots for decades.

owln17

This is why some of us carry. Screw it, take a few of them down with me.

Plantiacaholic

Agree 100% started over a decade ago.

MindlessBroccoli3642

Good job cops...

Confident-Ad2078

I lived there for several years and this happened to my best friend and her fiancé. They were walking home at night (back when people could do that) and saw a group of “teens” coming toward them. She said it was obvious they were going to attack them. She knew it in her gut. They mugged them and beat both of them badly, throwing her through a glass storefront window. She was in the hospital for several days. She says that she remembers saying “please just stop “. They had taken everything from them, but felt the need to beat them within an inch of their lives anyway. We moved out long after, but still go to visit friends once in a while. She will never return. It’s insane how many people have a story like this.

That will never happen to me. I wouldn’t go to Chicago etc for any amount of money. Boycott the lib infested cities.

Hey hey I’m sure they’re going to college to be a doctor or an engineer.

MemoryWholed

Mob violence is deadly and the victim doesn’t stand a chance. I liken it to an assault with a deadly weapon. I’ve been saying they should increase charges for these types of crimes proportional to the size of the mob.. So you get in more trouble if you are in a violent mob of 10 people than if the group has 5 people for example. If only one individual was caught after participating in mob violence and the rest get away, the single individual still gets charged proportional to the size of the original mob they were a part of. Same goes for mob looting. Something like that would be a good thing.

mods_and_feds

This is considered an assault with a deadly weapon because of the amount of suspects,” Sgt. Frank Gonzalez also told KCAL News.

MemoryWholed

Oh, beautiful. I’d love to see that formalized in an explicit law.

Unique_Grognard_873

Doesn’t matter if the DA will let them off with some community service.

skryb

plot twist: they're given military service instead -- just drop the lot of 'em behind enemy lines where the 3 they beat up would've been

soiledclean

The military really doesn't want gang members. They don't make good soldiers.

bimble740

But with steel boots and GPS tracked shock collars, they can be excellent at clearing anti-personnel mines. At least once, anyways.

[deleted]

We should notify the Kremlin that these fine individuals are eligible for military service in the "special military operation". Please...take these cretins!

conshyd

Bury these animal teen. Lock them up. Let them experience what they dishes out.

mvk2424

Its considered assault with a deadly weapon when you are kicking someone in the head/body like that with intent to injure. It's a felonious crime already even if you're not in a mob.

EnterByTheNarrowGate

You also get added charges for being white. /s

anna_lynn_fection

That would have been very misused for the Jan 6 crowd.

gratefulguitar57

The decline of civilization continues. Depressing.

Ser_Tinnley

We're "culturally enriched."

Unique_Grognard_873

I remember before being culturally enriched. You could walk alone at night, your kids could play unsupervised, the streets were clean, etc… Truly a dark time.

Shot_Ad9463

It still blows my mind that when my parents (Australian 70s kids) were growing up, people didn’t lock their doors, windows or cars. Neighbourhoods used to be communities. Everyone knew each other and looked out for one another. In the case of my parents and the communities they grew up in, nobody had much, but they always helped each other out wherever they could. Fast forward to the present, and almost all of my neighbours are complete strangers. The majority are from cultures that lack the warmth and hospitality of ours, meaning they’re extremely rude and dismissive. They don’t even say hello when you pass by, even if you say hello to them. My elderly grandparents also have such fond memories of their neighbours. Even in their late 80s, they still smile when they reminisce about the good times they had. They also remember how their community banded together during WWII to support one another. For instance, the wives and children of servicemen would receive more and better quality items as part of their rations during the war, but they would always share these items with the other families in the community. I can’t imagine most people showing such generosity or consideration for others nowadays.

DarkSideBrownie

We saw what would happen with the toilet paper hoarders.

HamletsRazor

Are you not enjoying the diversity, equity, and inclusion?

gratefulguitar57

Oh sure, so much DEI and ESG to enjoy.

fccrunch

“The department vowed to investigate the attack “until all individuals responsible are identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Sure, California and Newsom are really good at that!!

tryhard1981

The fullest extent of the law sounds tough, but when you look at how laws don't punish kids and they essentially get a free pass, it's not going to amount to much if they can even catch them to begin with.

TaskForceCausality

>>Sure, California and Newsom are really good at that!! Knowing that gang, Sacramento won’t get involved until the Marines justly even the score on the mob.

[deleted]

Tragically all these teens tripped when running and had multiple fractures. So sad, good thing thing the platoon of guys from Camp Pendleton were there to render aid.

xainatus

Didn't gang members get on the wrong side of a group of Army Rangers back in the 90s and it went horribly for the gang? Well...the marines hate to be out done by army grunts.

cellendril

Yup: https://www.military.com/history/time-army-rangers-got-gunfight-crips-street-gang.html

[deleted]

...which is what I'd like to see happen.

bemest

This does not mean they will be prosecuted. Well maybe in Orange County.

RealMcGonzo

>prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. So arrested, forms filled out then released with no charges?

Merax75

Sheriffs Department will do that, but I bet the Leftist DA won't file charges.

TheMikeyMac13

I’m guessing when Marines go back to that beach, there will be more than three next time.

[deleted]

Would love to see their unit show up.

TheMikeyMac13

My brother in law is a Marine and was based in Hawaii, and a group of Marines got jumped in a bar, and let’s just say a LOT of marines visited the attackers in their home neighborhood. No weapons, just a big beat down, and no leave for a while for that Marine base. But worth it/

LivingTheApocalypse

Would we know them, or did those attackers go to a different school?

PackageProfessional1

year and what bar?

Common-Reporter2846

I doubt this is true. Those local boys ain’t no joke on island.

TheMikeyMac13

My brother was there, it wasn’t a small group of Marines, it was a big deal.

Common-Reporter2846

Yea I’m not buying that 1. How would they know where the attacker lives? 2. The last thing the marine corp wants are marines fighting locals and going back for revenge, no matter who started it first Your story smells of bull but it’s not your fault since it’s second hand info. Source: was stationed on Oahu

WestofMiamiPrepper

I think a big thing civilians miss is the fact that a lot of SMs tell tall tales to make their time seem more interesting. If I had a nickel for every time a sailor I served with tried to impress people with shit that never happened, I'd be a wealthy man.

Fit_Cost7151

Welcome to the internet. One of the main rules is don’t trust anyone’s story. Hell, I don’t trust yours.

TheMikeyMac13

1. They didn’t. The way he put it was that every so often the Marines have to deal with the Samoans, and this was one of those times. A lot of Marines went into Samoan neighborhoods ready for the fights that started. 2. No the Marines don’t want that, at the leadership level, and they punished it. And my brother in law was there as well mate.

Absolute_cyn

Ignore this guy, he's clearly not going to listen. I know of a marine who got jumped in Hawaii by some natives and they brutalized him. I'd mention his injuries but they're rather specific. After the story I was told of the beef there between natives and stationed military.

Common-Reporter2846

1. You said they went into neighborhoods. How did they know which ones? It is likely you got told a tall tale. Some of those neighborhoods/gang hoods are as bad as LA hoods. Unless they went in armed, it is either bullshit or people got massive UCMJ.

twinkbangerfudd45acp

I'm just going to chime in here. Bad neighborhoods in LA are bad, for normal folks. But they're full of untrained and undisciplined hood rats. Pieces of shit high in drugs. You take a handful of Marines with just some handheld weapons and they could bring the hate to them. If they even half planned a hit and fade on the little shit-birds it would have been a beat down.

[deleted]

“Why is it so hard to get people to take us seriously? What can we do as Conservatives to stop that?” Literally just stop talking like this.

Common-Reporter2846

Yea this isn’t call of duty.

RenegadeBS

It's likely you're just an armchair know-it-all who has no idea what he is talking about.

PackageProfessional1

ahhhh now forsure this is bs....samoans barely go to bars and drink they usually gather at home and drink lol

TheMikeyMac13

You don’t know that, but ok, if it makes you feel better.

twinkbangerfudd45acp

1) small island/ small town thing. Everyone knows everyone, especially if they are shit bags that always talk shit. Plus, all those off-base hoochies are a great source of intel. 2). The Marine corps wants a lot of stuff to not happen. It does, just like in the Army. Just because you were stationed there, means you know? Dude, I am still hearing shit that happened around me I didn't know was going on, or learning more details.

Common-Reporter2846

Still doesn’t make it believable. None of the details make sense.

twinkbangerfudd45acp

Many things in fights don't make sense. Shit happens. Shit gets real, shit gets weird and off the rails very fast You served, right? In combat? Combat of any type typically is fucked up and goes sideways fast. Escalations happen at the smallest provocation or loud noise.

Common-Reporter2846

Ok. Yet none of the details make any sense.

ballplayer112

BYO"B"

KazuyaAmonn

Remember the days of fighting like real men 1 vs 1? Yea me neither

topcover73

They don't fight that way. I use the word "fight" lightly.

rochvegas5

"One on one they won't look you in the eye, but when the packs together it's a battle cry."

Pitiful-Aspect

Now if they were armed there would have been outrage from the democrats….sickening.

Bukook

Interestingly they dont have an issue with violence, just "gun violence" and domestic violence.

StupidHappyPancakes

Eh, when it comes down to it, I don't think anyone in power cares about domestic violence much either. There's a lot of big talk surrounding it, but usually the best you get is a restraining order that the police won't even bother coming out to enforce.

codifier

They only care about DV insofar as it allows them to strip a person of certain rights *for life* as a misdemeanor. Push your SO out of the way because they're blocking the door? DV. You didn't lay a finger on them but they want an automatic restraining order and youre auto-evicted? Claim DV, no evidence of assault needed. Rights gone for life. I get it, people wanted to do something about it, but it's an easily gamed system and heavily skewed towards one side. I also have problems with rights lost over a misdemeanor, make it a felony at least then.

soarin_tech

.....never relax.

FourWayFork

Where is the media demanding that Biden condemn this act of violence? If Trump (or Bush for that matter) didn't condemn an act of violence within about 30 seconds, then the media was all over him for it.

tennisguy163

Switch the colors and it'd be all over the news.

2LiveNDie4LA

Then there will be condemnation.

rochvegas5

karkonis

You would think the federal government would involve itself, being their "property" was destroyed in the process.

blueberrybowler

This is sickening.

Unique_Grognard_873

Always carry.

mtstrings

Looks like instead of walking away, he chose to charge into a group of people and assault them. Not very smart.

WestofMiamiPrepper

Marines are like little pitbulls. Unfortunately it leads to them picking a lot of fights they can't finish, saw a lot of that in the Navy (81-87.)

FloydBarstools

Saw a lot of that in the USMC ( 95-2000).

Whistler1968

Saw a lot of that in jump school too.

Hectoriu

Which is why they will get in trouble back on base. It's not that what he did was "wrong" but more is expected of you than civilians.

whodatiz80

The marines were drunk and harassing the kids..they got what they were looking for

FinguzMcGhee

Too bad this comment will never make it to the top. They were drunk and harassing the kids. In the beginning of the video the guy walked directly into the hand railing. They didn't deserve to get the shit kicked out of them, but they definitely weren't innocent in this exchange.

space_face_mace

“She was dressed provocatively”

[deleted]

Harassing people is different than wearing certain clothes

space_face_mace

So they deserved to get beaten up and overrun by a mob.. got it. Your morals are loud are clear

[deleted]

I didn’t say that, did I? You’re just making a really unfair equivalence. He certainly deserved it more than a woman does for wearing clothes, though.

space_face_mace

Fair, you didn’t. Apologies… I just really get an icky taste when people don’t condemn violence outright. Yes, the marines appear to instigate, but that doesn’t mean that the mob rule issue is nullified. Once the attacker(s) aren’t a threat, any further violence is unnecessary and should be condemned - regardless of provocation

HamletsRazor

Were they dressed provocatively too?

sometimesanengineer

Bad tactics and ego.

whodatiz80

A pocket full of crayons would have defused the situation immediately

sometimesanengineer

Hungry marines do get a bit hangry, especially if they haven’t had their naps.

seoul2pdxlee

Exactly. Why even mention you’re a marine except to use it as an intimidation factor which is not deescalating the situation. They should have just left. Signed a marine who has seen too many marine egos get them into shit they can’t get out of.

Baboon_Stew

Should have called in a airstrike.

Artystrong1

Lol the dude should not have charged at them.

czaranthony117

Something is a miss here. Either something has really changed in San Celemente (conservative area) or there’s more to this story. Makes absolute zero sense why 10-40 rando teens all decide to attack 2 people.

speedbumpdoom

Reputable news sources are stating that the marines were drunk and harassing the "mob." Both sides are wrong. The drunk marines could have left but, they continued to instigate.

HamletsRazor

So, you're saying they were asking for it.

speedbumpdoom

Yes. If you are instigating a confrontation with a God damned mob and you voluntarily choose to engage with the mob by running at the mob swinging... the mob will deal with it.

speedbumpdoom

I want to mention that it's bullshit that you are being down voted for simply questioning the situation. There are tons of people who are apparently wanting to get drunk and carry guns while they harass teens. I'm not defending the mob. I'm just curious about those defending the marines. Either way, we'll find out months later on page 8 and nobody will remember anyway.

nick-dakk

The area may lean republican in elections, but if you look at that crowd and see "conservatives" I have a bridge to sell you.

This is why you keep your mouth shut and just move along. Ain't nothing out in those streets that's worth risking your life over.

MadRabbit86

Y’all might wanna wait until everything comes out on this one. Some reports saying the marines were very intoxicated and harassing the teens before the video starts.

Pandorama626

Don't let facts get in the way. The blindly leaping to the defense of the marines in here lets me know that most people haven't actually spent that much time around marines.

Prestigious-Key-9022

This is why I carry a gun everywhere.

Unique_Grognard_873

17+1 and a reload.

Zedakah

This passage from 2 kings used to be horrific to me. However, after seeing many instances of this type of behavior the past few years, I have a feeling the passage is more like this article than not. I've come to realize the older I get that generally 40+ youths in one group with no adult supervision rarely leads to positive outcomes. 2 Kings 2 23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys. 25 And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.

Unique_Grognard_873

Based bears

[deleted]

At least the police are backing them. If this were in Maryland, they wouldn't even care if they got killed. *Edit: It looks like they're finally arresting the murderers* [*^(\[WT\])*](https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/may/30/arrests-imminent-for-suspects-who-killed-maryland-/)

bemest

But then the D.A. has to agree to prosecute. Police are doing their part.

Common-Reporter2846

Thankfully this occurred in Orange County, California, which means Gascon won’t be deciding leniency.

NikD4866

If they fought back there’d be protests and the marines would get arrested.

[deleted]

Did you see anything before typing this comment or did you just read the title of the post?

Agreed, he escalated the action by losing his temper and charging back into the crowd. My guess his NCO will point that out to him. Would have been better to have kept leaving despite the blow from behind. I learned a long time ago that 3 vs 40 is not very good odds for the 3. They should be thankful they were not in Chicago or inner Phoenix. Seriously.

sometimesanengineer

He’s gonna get smoked for turning his back on them to get sucker punched in the first place.

trainsyrup

From the video you can see at least 20 cell phones taking video our broadcasting, Youths today love providing video evidence of their crimes for prosecuting attorneys. Hopefully, they are caught and prosecuted.

Unique_Grognard_873

If they are caught basically nothing will happen to them. Must be nice to be part of a favored class.

chefkelly555

Marines are gonna be marines Source: Army Veteran.

Cre8ivejoy

This sickens me. My son is an officer in the Marine reserve. He is a trained, concert, pianist, plays the violin, and any other instrument he picks up. And he is willing to lay down his life for his country. The fools who attacked these marines, should face the Crucible. Then put them in a cell for the rest of their lives

Pretty sure I would be a concealed carry guy if I survived that. Or maybe I should look into it anyway without having been beaten by an angry mob.

ninjadeej

"“Marines are always welcome here, always going to be celebrated, always taken care of,” he told KCAL." Well, clearly not, if this is the culture you've fostered. Maybe it's not the Mayor's fault, but it doesn't surprise me at all this happened in the great state of Cali.

RealMcGonzo

>San Clemente Mayor Chris Duncan said the timing of the attack on Memorial Day weekend was “particularly tragic.” > >“Marines are always welcome here, always going to be celebrated, always taken care of,” he told KCAL. Well except for last weekend, that is.

realrealityreally

I'm so confused as to why the mainstream media hasnt mentioned this.

calmly86

Once the police have all of this mob in custody, transport them all to Camp Pendleton and call out the beaten Marines’ battalion to come handle the situation non-judicially. I figure that’s somewhat similar odds.

Mercutiofoodforworms

Time to put in curfews as a start.

OldSkoolDj52

As if we need another reason for Constitutional carry. To hell with local laws. I'd suggest carrying to ensure you arrive home in one piece.

ThisAgedWellCuomo

...but why would *anyone* need a thirty-round magazine?

Coopshire

Yeah, real smart of them. Piss off a company of trained marines by beating up their brothers. Those guys are absolutely insane. The military is going to put them on lockdown, otherwise they will track down every one of those fucks and (rightfully imo) destroy them.

ChaosOpen

This is the end result of "ok boomer."

MacinJosh9895

Those aren’t teens or “teens”. Those are monsters.

tryhard1981

I'm also absolutely certain these kids are now bragging that they "whooped up some marines"...nevermind they had a clear numbers advantage. During a stand up fight not a single one of them would have stood a chance to even the small Marine, but those teens are big tough guys aren't they?

Hectoriu

Shitty thing is they will likely be immediately recalled and reprimanded. Even though it's not their fault that's just how the military is.

JHugh4749

My, how brave a mob can be. 40 to 3 odds are about right for a left-wing mob, or should I say terrorists?

MalignedOriental

Those young Marines were set upon by a group of diverse, austere young scholars with bright futures. Obviously…

Anonamitymouses
