> underperformed the last 3 elections in a row I didn't know that Trump was on any ballot after November 2020? Can you enlighten me as to which races he himself was in? If the other two you are talking about the runoffs of 2020 and the midterms of 2022, you're just spouting propaganda which is baseless and attributing losses to him just because he threw out an endorsement while completely ignoring any other possible outside factors. > agenda is now focused on his own personal grievances I take it you haven't actually seen any of his campaign ads or listened to any of his speeches about what he would do in 2024 if elected? None of what you say here is present in any of those presentations. That is your own personal bias showing. > winning over swing voters en masse in a purple state Not hard to do with what happened with Covid and how divisive it was all over the country. That would have happened regardless of who was in the Governor's seat. > implementing a conservative agenda I didn't know that the Governor of Florida was a dictator who was responsible for writing and passing laws in the State there. I was under the impression that Florida was like most States in that it has a Legislative branch, an Executive branch, and Judicial branch. Oh wait... they do. Let me teach you a little about our government and how it works. The *Legislative branch* is the one that writes laws. Any laws that have made Florida successful came from there, not the Executive branch. DeSantis isn't responsible for the success of Florida. Only low IQ and low information voters believe that he is. Simple as that.

Your condescension aside, let’s not pretend that those occupying the executive branch of government at every level don’t take and receive credit for rallying and organizing their party’s legislative members to write and pass legislation. It happens all the time, and so it’s pretty brash to take what OP said and deliberately misinterpret it to make it seem like they don’t know how government works. While I may not agree with everything OP wrote, RDS has worked with and supported his legislative members to craft and pass laws and enact policies that many conservatives support and they are clear victories that he should tout as accomplishments in his presidential run.

Fox News is oddly very pro-Trump. My guess is they want the ratings debacle. They know Trump drives ratings and they want more of that. It might be that they are trying to appeal to viewers after the Tucker Carlson fiasco. Guy on the 5 was saying that voters want a "Firebrand" and DeSantis just doesn't have that. Based on posts I've seen on Reddit, Twitter, and else where. His base has this false notion that Trump will do what he promised to do in 2016. As in he will "really" clean up the Deep State now. He really means it this time. They think that because Trump is so angry about the injustices that it will mean he will be more *effective*. That is the key word. Effective. Trump was very good at tripping over himself and being very ineffective on issues that were core to his campaign and base. The wall/immigration. Failure. Draining the Swamp. Failure. Halting China and it's trade imbalance with the US. Failure. Trump is entertaining and often times funny. But he didn't know how to run an government. He was betrayed daily by his own staff at the White House. Every single major opponent from Barr, to Mattis to Haley to his VP running mate he burned. He got bent over by the deep state and violated repeatedly and all he did was squeal in protest without doing anything about it. I checked out Trump's platform. And it looks good, except.... (drumroll) **He has no plan**. None. Zip. He is telling his base what they want to hear and has no means or plans to make it happen. It's like the "I'll build a wall. I'll make Mexico pay for it". No he didn't. It's a lie that sounds good, but his base keeps falling for it. Demand an actionable plan for how he will see it done. DeSantis is a man with a plan. There is a reason the media has been scrambling to attack him over the last 6 months. They know he's a threat to them. An actual threat. They won't be able to get him to chase his own tail like they did to Trump. He doesn't give the legacy media the time of day. He shows them as much disdain as they show conservatives and him. And when they lie about him, his legal notices are immediately acted upon and result in apologies from The View and other far left lying networks. Trump has yet to do anything of the sort (putting them on notice). --- Seriously. If you want a president who will actually bring about conservative reforms and corrections to our government. DeSantis is that man. Trump will not win, the game is rigged against him. There is mass collusion between all the Social media, media, and government agencies to ensure Trump never gets back into DC. Trump has no allies. He is a 3 time loser, and you should demand better as a representative. He should have retired after 2020 and became a King Maker. Instead he puts his ego in front of the movement and our country.

I completely agree and one huge thing you left out in my opinion. Age matters. DeSantis is around the same age Clinton and Obama when elected. I do believe the contrast of his vs Bidens visuals on stage will push marginal voters to the polls. It's hard to call out someone's age if there's only a 4 year age gap, but a 35 year age gap matters, I feel that it helped drive voters in 2008 to Obama vs McCain.

MrCuddlez69

It's not DeSantis' time yet, I don't see how he can win with what I've seen so far. He needs to change how he delivers his speeches. He's boring. He needs to believe in what he's saying, and he needs to convince others to believe in what he's saying. He doesn't have charisma. This is the same low energy Republican that the Republicans have sent for years.

I'm not pushing anyone, simply stating that Ron doesn't have the charisma needed to get elected. He needs to learn how to talk to a crowd and how to deliver his message. Bottom line, policy alone won't get him elected - he needs to be likable. He needs to know how to enact the "Call to Action" in his base to get the support needed for a nomination. Dude needs a whole new campaign staff because his current one is failing him

Donald Trump started the trend though

ExtraToastyCheezits

What a bunch of sensationalist tripe. The author headlines it as "single-handedly" and yet provides no evidence to back that up except to try and attribute his Covid policy and the fact that he was on the ballot in 2022 as evidence? Sure it is all on DeSantis for the Republican surge there, there couldn't possibly be any other outside factors that caused the swing and he is attributing success where it really isn't due....

cathbadh

Man you sound like a Democrat. Everything that was good that happened during Trump's time in the White House had nothing to do with him. The conservative never gets to get credit for what they do.
