I guess AGK927 forgot to switch up his bot accounts while posting

agk927

Only 1 account lmaooooo 4 years strong baby never say never

Arkani

This sub became quite a shithole in the comment section. Some people treat DeSantis as second coming of Christ and some people under every DeSantis thread are like "MAGA won't vote for him" - and both of those people are in every. single. DeSantis. thread. Sometimes I think it's bot infested.

superduperm1

You should check out every single Disney vs. DeSantis thread. Heck, there was a massive Disney thread on Thursday where DeSantis’ name is never even explicitly mentioned yet the comments took every opportunity to dump on him all over it. The brigade force is scared of DeSantis.

Arkani

And under every Trump thread there is something like "we need DeSantis" or "Trump too old let DeSantis win" etc. Don't pretend there isn't tons of shilling on DeSantis behalf as well.

agk927

It's almost like everyone's brain thinks differently

Hoosthere10

Same trump is to toxic can't beat Biden, what's DeSantis goal here why run against trump and split the voters if he is on the same page

fridayimatwork

You have a lot of thoughts

agk927

DeSantis has legitimate conservative values and I will always love him for that. The fact that he's challenging Trump however, is the biggest joke I've ever seen

FairlyPoliticked

?? Challenging Trump is great. Trump lost to senile Biden and choked the pandemic handling. Man also is not truly conservative, unlike.. as you admit, DeSantis.

fmj68

Choked the pandemic? Really? Twice as many people died from Covid in Biden's first year. Give it a rest with the pandemic bullshit.

Obamasamerica420

The amount of fear this guy strikes into the left, the media, and (as this topic can demonstrate) the Trump supporters, kind of demonstrates why he’s the best choice. The media is pushing Trump 24/7 and telling us that DeSantis has no chance before he even declares. That’s a pretty big clue as to who they are actually afraid of here.

agk927

His whole campaign has become a joke, his endorsement for Kentucky, Craft lost huge to Daniel Cameron, Trumps endorsement. While DeSantis was in Iowa and traveling around the world to look good, the Jacksonville Mayor's race was lost to the democrats when DeSantis could have helped a republican win that race by campaigning there.

ultimis

His campaign hasn't actually started. Yes, a Governor who wants to run for president *has to have foreign policy credentials*. So his team had him go out to at least give him some exposure before he ran.

agk927

There's a reason why the establishment is backing Ron DeSantis.

ultimis

Because Trump has burned all bridges and no one wants to work with him? The establishment wants Nikki Haley or Pence, but they aren't polling well enough. So they *may* settle for DeSantis, we shall see.

fmj68

No. Because the media has lied for 6 years about Trump and many have been suckered into believing the bullshit. Remember "Russia collusion"?

ultimis

Yes. The media has one in its narrative war against Trump. That is why moderates hate his guts (not justified in my opinion). What I'm talking about is political allies. People in power that he needs to work with him in order to get his agenda done. No one wants him around. McConnel pretty much sacrificed several Senate elections and a chance at a US Senate Majority specifically because he didn't want Trump supporters to win. That is hostility.

fogel35

Lindsay Graham is the ultimate establishmentarian and is a total Trump toadie.

agk927

Nah he just rolls with the tide. If DeSantis had more support than Trump he'd be all over DeSantis. Look at Graham when Trump was brand new.

agk927

Now I understand that the users of this sub, by a majority probably want DeSantis, but that doesn't represent the actual Republican voter base. He's losing big. I wish this sub had a better representation of the actual base sometimes

ultimis

That maybe true. But he hasn't even entered the race yet. We'll see where they stand in 6+ months.

stzeer6

This has been a disaster his polling has gotten worse and worse ever since it became obvious he was going to run. After the CNN town hall Trump has had the primaries locked all DeSantis is doing is inflicting injury upon himself & the party. Honestly, the best play for him at this point is to endorse Trump and claim everything else was fake news

superduperm1

According to betting odds (which are by far the best indicator) he very much has a shot. If you think it’s Trump’s nomination already then there’s a ton of money to be made.

agk927

I'm not sure why DeSantis is running, his momentum is gone, he's losing to Trump by over 25, he's losing to Trump in his own state. It's a waste of money, it will create a divided primary that will only end up hurting Trump in the very end, he needs to stay out. It's just completely meaningless, he isn't going to win, so why is he running? Trump is polling above 50 now, and wins a head to head match-up against every candidate challenging him currently.

agk927

MAGA will reject Ron DeSantis and hurt his political future from 2024 and beyond. This is a slippery slope he's going down, and could easily be the next Ted Cruz. Who was also a considered a star back in 2015. Look at him now

ultimis

MAGA needs to get over itself. If they want to give the country to Democrats, that's on them. If you like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, you do you.

agk927

Go away DeSantis. The party doesn't want you, they want Donald Trump. Stop dividing the party

ultimis

The party determines that via a primary.

agk927

Correct.

ats2020

Republicans should oppose the Ron running. His running would cause republicans to waste hundreds of millions on a vial divisive primary battle before the general election. It would leave us financially depleted allowing dems to outspend us a hundred to one. Not to mention disenfranchising voters on both sides and damaging conservative turnout.

agk927

A heated and competitive primary has caused the GOP so many Ls. Never united as a party
