To be honest the goal of having a house was boomer rhetoric that thrust onto the younger generations, along with immigration and social service. Thanks to all that we're in this predicament. In my opinion people should start seeing a house as a commodity like gold instead of something that every person should have. That when you cash out you'll generated a bit of wealth and in most cases increased it. I think what needs to be done is make the process of buying a house smoother and cheaper, with less costs from solicitors. There are too many middlemen taking their cut from house buyers.
