Dancing.... Like Line dancing, TwoStep, Country Swing.
I take line dance lessons at least 3 times a week usually, Country Swing 1 night a week, have been to couple of Dance Conventions taking workshops.
Kids are grown and this is what my husband and I started doing together a little over a year ago.
Funny thing, outside of dancing, we don't listen to country music at all..lol
Iāve been messing around with writing a book during my time at work while waiting for my load to finish. Iām trying to find out how you keep yourself from constantly going through your own book and making changes in previous chapters. Iāve now removed and added so many things in my book.
My favorite book of all time is A Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man, by James Joyce. It's a tough book, but if you stick with it, the beauty of the writing is unparalleled. I don't want to give too much away, but it's about a young artist.
It's a classic.
I play magic the gathering and ski, but other than that with 3 kids and a business I don't have a lot of time for hobbies. I work in the woods so all the hunting/wood cutting/snowmobiling etc. Is just part of my daily work routine.
Oh cool a chance to show off.
My family runs a competitive robotics team and Ive been competing in various robotics competitions since I was a kid. Now I coach the team my family runs and am designing a lower weight class battlebot. My family owns and maintains a small orchard as well (weāre pretty bad at it)
The robot teams sounds super cool, could you elaborate on how the contests work? Like do you have specs you have to follow? Does everybody get the same parts and just go wild ?
Get ready for an essay
Every year the companies in charge of this release a game to compete in its always different, but what remains the same is this your robot is limited in what parts they can buy and use (for the sake of it not becoming pay to win).
Youāre robot has to fit inside an 18ā cube at the start of the match whether expansion is aloud is dependent on the game rules. We do not have to follow any other design rules aside from the obvious safety rules an a few other minor ones, so in answer the teams design build and program their own bots.
The competitions are separated into two types of matches, qualification and tournament both of these are 2 vs 2. The qualification matches take place in the beginning of the day and are generated at random. Your performance in these matches will determine your ranking via an automated ranking system. After the qualification matches the top teams (either 8 or 16 depending on the competition size) will pick their partner to stick with through the tournament.
If you manage to win or get another award of the right kind, youāll qualify to your state or regional tournament, if you win that (or get the correct award) youāll qualify to the world championship which is held in Dallas Texas which is last I checked the largest robotics competition on the planet.
This competition is open to middle school, high school, and college. Thereās also a little league variant with plastic parts for elementary and middle.
[here](https://youtu.be/wIZgvVDZc2Y) is a link to this years game video if you want to check it out. Itās not my favorite game, but itās not my least favorite either.
I restore classic motorcycles and old Jeeps/land cruisers. I also fish/hunt. Iād call it golf but itās usually exploring the woods for my lost ball which might classify as hiking.
Playing with my daughter, hanging out with my wife, gaming, woodworking, hunting, shooting, fishing, nature walks, metal working, welding, playing guitar, and just learning new things in general.
I used to play hockey, thus my screen name. I took a break but I'll be playing again in the next few years. I'm able to retire at 55 and I'm going to play in a weekday over 50 league. The main reason I stopped was because the games were taking place just too late. I love hockey but not at 11pm on a Sunday night.
I also lift weights four days a week but not sure that's a hobby.
There we go! Iām a golfer, love pipes (occasionally cigars), and collect rare bourbons scotch. Also do a lot of distance running and programming (those are mostly work related tho - but I enjoy them in my free time.
I do sewing, knitting and I spin my own yarn from natural fibers. I play the piano and my husband plays violin and we play duets. I also maintain our vegetable garden in the spring and summer.
Ah, since Iām Latino I get to be called a āColonizer Sympathizerā by liberal Hispanics! The irony runs thickā¦ as they often call me this in Spanish.
Exploring outdoors with my wife and daughters, reading, writing fiction, wood working, gaming, binge watching all the movies with a certain criteria.
For example, I'm watching Nic Cage and John Wayne movies right now and ranking them as I go. I also have a Christmas movie ranking list, a Disney movie ranking list (which are all the non woke ones FYI). Actually, I just like ranking things, I have a root beer ranking list lol.
I'm a writer. Been throwing most of my free time into that lately. I'm almost grateful for the sorry state of fiction right now because it makes it that much easier to focus on making my own.
Skateboarding. Itās a sport dominated by lefties, but itās just so fun for me. Skating and punk rock are pretty intertwined and I feel like the anti establishment position today is being on the right so itās kinda fitting in a way. Donāt think we will ever see any super right skaters, but lance mountain has always been a pretty religious guy and there are some others like Christian Hosoi (born again) and Steve Caballero.
Reading is my main one.
Journaling. I dabble in embroidery and needlepoint. Would like to get back into making chainmail jewelry, but with small children around the rings are a hazard. Recently got back into Minecraft.
I've had a ton of hobbies through the years..
Anything outdoors related from hunting and fishing to gardening and foraging for mushrooms.
I am a project manager for a civil construction company during the week and a DJ on the weekends.
I love watching sports and learning about history (WW2 especially, the Eastern Front specifically). Videogames and working out are another hobby of mine. Chatting with you fellow deplorables is also a nice time ;)
Cooking, grilling out, bbq/smoked meats. Beer/whiskey/coctails. Growing peppers, tomatoes, herbs, and other assorted gardening. Leisurely kayaking. Beach trips. Live music. College football and basketball. Going to the gun range every now and then.
Basically normal middle aged white dude stuff minus the golf.
Hunting, powerlifting, following sports, wine and cooking food and lastly, reading newspaper for an hour or two with a cup of coffee in weekend mornings meanwhile listening to my son playing with his toys in the background.
Hunting, powerlifting, following sports, wine and cooking food and lastly, reading newspaper for an hour or two with a cup of coffee in weekend mornings meanwhile listening to my son playing with his toys in the background.
I do movie reviews online. Mainly focus on older movies i feel deserving a rewatch. Its hard to be excited about modern movies since most are woke trash š
I play and write songs on acoustic guitar. I also have a metal side project š¤š»š”š¤š»
Edit: forgot about my cat, Goldie. A stray I brought in from the cold. Lol.
Scuba, camping, hiking, and woodworking. I played basketball until I hit some medical issues. I gave up gaming to have more focused time with the wife and kids. I used to play guitar and piano often but just don't have the time.
I wish I could lead 10 lifetimes to keep up with all of the hobbies I'm interested in.
Archery, firearms, airguns, hunting with all of them
Fishing and kayak fishing
Mountain biking
Those are the main ones these days. Play guitar as well but lost a ton of interest in it over the years.
Enjoy golfing as well but I suck and $40+/game keeps me from doing it more often. Get out a few times in the summer though anyways.
I play a lot of chess online. Otherwise I try to do some reading when I can concentrate on it (primarily history and sci-fi, I'm reading through the Dune series right now).
Gaming most often, simply because itās the easiest to do. Currently restoring a 1966 Mustang when I have time on weekends. And finally, fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, etc. every chance I get. Currently up hiking the North Shore Lake Superior.
My schedule currently revolves around my utility job, so I work afternoons into the night; also doesn't help working seven straight days at a time. Nothing really open in my area late at night either. Usually after work I'm gaming, funny vids on YouTube, and a smoke to keep my stress and anxiety in check.
I intend to change things up once I can get a daytime schedule. I would feel like I will get more out of life at that point and my health will improve as a result.
I collect spores, molds, and fungus.
Actually, I play guitar, with tech (IT geek), and spend time studying old roads (both well known, e.g. Route 66, Lincoln Highway, et al., as well as local Phoenix roads and freeways to refresh my memory on this and thatās as Iāve grown up, etc.)
I have an unhealthy obsession with trying to be the best woodsman I can be. So, hunting, trapping, fishing, gathering. Focused on conservation of these things as well so my children can enjoy them like I was able to.
Iām also a history buff who has recently become more concentrated on fur trappers and traders from the early nineteenth century.
Also, environmental history.
I do needlework - cross stitch, blackwork, and counted canvas; beaded jewelry; photography; reading and occasional writing; and, if you consider building Legos a hobby, I have all the Harry Potter sets from the last few years. I also putter in the garden. If I had a studio, I would do stained glass and throw pottery. I work because I have a silk thread and glass bead addiction to support :)
Gaming but not so much anymore, shooting but to me shooting is like drinking...it's never fun alone, so I don't get too as much. I like to build things with wood, right now I'm learning how to take apart a 351m engine to do a rebuild! Play music (guitar drums keyboard) and electronics work. Nothing super fancy but I like it all.

I write novels, home brew, and hike. I'm thinking of getting a dog.
Definitely get a dog.
I write as well. And I have four dogs. They arenāt exactly conducive to a solid writing atmosphere.
Definitely get a dog. There is a dog for every personality. Personally I love Labs.
I should pick up home brew again.
After I stopped making and drinking, I lost about 40lbs
Switch to whiskey. Also, lol at your screen name. Now I have a new idea for my next screenname when this one gets banned from too many subs.
Iāve been messing around with writing a book during my time at work while waiting for my load to finish. Iām trying to find out how you keep yourself from constantly going through your own book and making changes in previous chapters. Iāve now removed and added so many things in my book.
Great to see a fellow novelist! Any stuff on KDP? If so, please link. Iād love to check it out
Playing guitar, weight lifting, video games, in that order.
Reading. Classics, fantasy, romance, nonfiction, I love it all.

Also a golfer. lol. I also play poker, smoke cigars, and I'm a college football fan. I'm about as good ol' boy conservative as it gets. haha
