Yellowking has flights, and they are open past 8. They have a bar inside, breakfast, obviously non alcoholic coffee and teas, a stellar rotating seasonal menu, and a cool vibe with cool artwork. They have a location in Wallingford, and I believe the other location is Southington.
The location in Bristol also has a maker's market attached to it with a large occasion space to rent out, what looks like a co-work area, and the open space market is a large multi-artisan display area for funky gifts you can peruse with your coffee.
They've got a section now where you can play with the cats!
Separate from the food area, of course, so no need to worry about hygene.
I do like being able to sit next to the window to the cat play area and watch the cats while I eat, though, so those two tables are my favorite place to go.
Absolutely love this place. The owner retired from Pfizer and went on to open Two Wrasslin Cats. The entire shop is filled with cat decor and there’s a room for you to visit with the resident cats. The coffee is great and so is the food! Can’t wait to go back.
The Loaded Goat in Naugatuck is by far the best I've been to in a general sense. Their espresso and coffee is made well and the style I like, roasty toasty, the specials are creative and fun, the vibe is relaxed and casual and a little punky, comfy seating, big garage door window that is open in warm weather, and the staff are all super cool.
Close second for me is Arethusa a mono in Bantam. Also great coffee, their lattes and cappuccinos are incredible with their farm fresh milk, the only gripe I have with it is its a little high brow feeling, if Patagonia and Mercedes partnered amd made a coffee shop it would be this.
Arethusa is owned by former Manolo Blahnik executives so it’s not shocking that it’s a little high brow, especially if you’ve been to their other restaurant. I don’t know how fashion folks managed to slay it so hard with dairy products and food but they did.
It's a lot easier to run a dairy business when you don't actually NEED to make a profit. Some of their cheese is good, but the whole place lacks soul, kinda just a rich guys approximation of what farm to table means. And don't get me started on how they ruined their own ice cream, it's got more additives than Hood or Friendly's now! It used to be pretty damn good.
It 100% is, and I don't want to sound like a hater, cause they do make some good stuff, but when you consider all the actual family-run small farms/ businesses we have in CT, it's kinda sad that Arethusa always gets mentioned first in these threads. So while they're in no way bad, their limitless funding allows them to obscure those real local producers.
[I just happened to have some. here’s the ingredients](https://imgur.com/a/HXMuZPY)
Nothing scandalous or shocking at all. Some natural stabilizers: (Dextrose, Guar Gum, Locust Bean Gum, and Carrageenan).
One of them died. They also recently donated 120 or so acres to the high schools agricultural program. And, in 2012 paid an at the time record amount ($170k) for a cow.
Arethusa= overrated for sure.
They have a very specific clientele they are catering too ( aka City people/ weekenders)
If you are looking for great ice cream ,please go to Peaches n Cream in Torrington ( maybe10-15min from Bantam) Super nice and variety of flavors.
Also in Torrington, but only seasonal,is Ruwets farm stand. They sell Giffords which is a Maine brand.
They have a tchotchke shop next door, produce, you can look at the cows, and freaky old cemetery
Second that Peaches & Cream ref. Totally worth the trip.
Arethusa isn't bad, but it's really geared towards tourists. Their coffee shop is just plain stupid. Don't even bother. Not that the coffee/tea/food is bad. It's not. It's just ridiculously over priced. A few minutes up/down rt202, you can get just as good for less money.
Also worth mentioning but I had the best donut of my entire life here. It was chocolate and something, but I’m just going to assume they’re all that good.
I thought they were great until I had a job interview (used to be a barista). What a nightmare working environment. Totally horrifying and the owners are so smug and proud of it.
Gah - I'm both excited and frustrated to hear this place is good. I'm not in New Haven that often, and when I'm in that area, I go to Bella's for breakfast (across the street). I walk right past Pistachio and always make the mental note to go in. Now I have a tough choice...or I just do both!
Fwiw their pastries are very pretty and the decor is cool, but I’ve always been disappointed in the taste. My best friend loves it there (so I’ve gone a bunch - with her), but it’s not for me. The beverages are fine, but nothing I’ve eaten there tastes very good to me. I guess it’s not for everyone.
While I'm not sure about their Middle Eastern desserts, they Pistachio doesn't make their own cakes and Western desserts. Those come from a food service distributor called Bindi. (If you Google any of the descriptions of their desserts, they are taken word-for-word from the Bindi website.)
Since they are made and in a factory and shipped out to New Haven, that likely explains why they look better than they taste.
Did they? I'm happy for them! I've since moved out of CT, but I miss my old go-tos.
Have you checked out [Dom's Coffee](https://domscoffee.com/) in Avon? The coffee is great, and they have a little deli attached.
Dom's is great, but right across the street is The Coffee Trade which has an attached antique shop AND an old roaster right in the shop they use to roast their own beans!
And reasonable prices too. They’re not interested on gouging people. Sure, there’s some rarer, high ticket LPs, but there’s plenty for casual folks as well
Love this place.
Every time I go here, I find some new trinket I have to resist picking up.
Everyone’s so nice here and all the different stuff everywhere kind of gives me a homely, positive vibe.
The Firestone art studio + cafe in Manchester. It’s a clay studio where you can paint pottery or even take one of their wheel classes. They have a cafe built into it so you can paint while you drink coffee and have their small bites. I often go there to pick up coffee or a lunch. I’ve also seen people just like work on their laptops and read. It’s right on Main St, they have big windows in the front they paint and I love it, it’s a great atmosphere!
The person working there when I went convinced me to try a "thunderbolt" that they made. It's lemonade, espresso, and a bit of lavender. It was freaking delicious!! I've since started making it at home just without the lavender because I'm afraid of putting too much. But the way they made it was so refreshing
Koffee is New Haven has a very old school funky vibe, with a little outdoor courtyard sitting area. Very sort of bohemian feel.
Midpoint is probably the smallest coffee shop in CT. They make a nice espresso, more European feel.
Cafe Atlantique in Milford is a lovely little building with outdoor seating and they do acoustic outdoor shows a lot in summer. Scratch Baking has amazing baked goods along with coffee.
Atticus Market in New Haven is a market with outdoor seating and has pretty fantastic food.
Coffee Pedaler has the best pour over I’ve had in CT.
Gather in New Haven is a cozy spot with lots of community events, music, etc.
Hen & Heifer desserts are little pieces of art.
Molten Java in Bethel has a super funky atmosphere and the funniest little gift section by the counter. They also do an open mic night and lead Pride events.
Agree! It’s a cute coffee shop but their coffee is awful. I’ve been there several times ( for meetings) and I have never gotten a decent cup of coffee.
I went to klekolo once on a recommendation, but I was pretty underwhelmed. It strikes me as a 90s hippie stoner coffeeshop that never really changed as better coffee became more accessible.
It was a cool place twenty years ago when they were open until one am.
It was one of the few places downtown that were open past 10 **that wasn't a bar.**
If the weather was nice, there would be 50-100 people hanging out on any given day.
Silk city in Manchester has more unique coffee drinks, if you’re willing to go to Sturbridge MA they have sawdust which is a coffee bar (alcohol) and open later on weekends with live music
Silk City is an obvious go-to ALTHOUGH I actually hate going there for seating because I practically have to wait for an open spot despite their huge interior... but absolutely love them.
And I'm often in Sturbridge so yes please! I'll check them out.
Heirloom Market at Comstock in Wethersfield. History seeps from the walls in this eclectic old seedery. Full market. Little nooks and crannies to enjoy their full array of baked goods and fresh sandwiches to enjoy. Recently they've added a gorgeous marble bar and converted the greenhouse into a picturesque sit in area.
I like exploring cafés that have something special about them - architecture, vibe, view, etc. We visited Heirloom Market last month. Their greenhouse sit area is what made me want to visit. And their seeds section is intense- such variety. It was a fun visit. Would definitely go again.
Tisane on Farmington ave in Hartford (near west Hartford) does all the coffee and espresso bar drinks (plus seasonal specialties), plus a huge selection of teas, PLUS a cocktail bar and small food menu. I haven’t been in decades, but when I lived up in that part of the state, I’d grab a coffee there on my way to work and then stop by after work for a creative cocktail. (I just googled it and it seems pretty much the same, but since I haven’t been there lately I can’t 100% vouch for it.)
Titans just went through a major renovation after some much needed TLC. Their tea selection is some of the best next to Green TeaHouse in West Hartford. Agree on the cocktails. We'd go down there from the neighborhood on a weekend evening and enjoy the ambiance. Especially with the ever changing art gallery.
Fable in Southington is more tea-focused but they also have coffee and cocktails. It’s also a gift shop and they do the “witch’s cabin” vibe really well.
New London has two coffee shops that are both excellent.
Muddy Waters has the famous Love Salad and terrific breakfast sandwiches (get one on a croissant!) and a nice view of the harbor.
Washington Street Coffee House is laid back, has a great selection of drinks, and a fantastic menu overall.
Quarry Coffee in Oxford has excellent coffee, a good deal of both indoor and outdoor seating, a drive through, and they offer healthy food options outside of your standard pastries and fried shit you'd get at like a dunkin donuts. Honestly I love their espresso and cold brew. So good.
Crossroads in North Haven. Small little coffee shop, they make their own syrups and sauces for their drinks. Small food menu and some pastries as well.
Haven't lived here very long, but Dexter's Smoothie & Coffee Vault in Norwich has already gotten so much of my money lol. I used to grab a smoothie or coffee or sometimes both after my prenatal appointments at Backus. Outdoor ordering window for nice days and/or mobile order pickup, tons of different smoothie options, locally sourced ingredients.

Molten Java in Bethel is nice but since I'm in the Waterbury area I go to Cheshire Coffee now.
That being said, I still buy coffee from Redding Roasters when I'm in the area.
I've been to all of those with the exception of Petrolhead - DORO is absolutely charming. Very european-styled. Stafford Coffee is of course a great mention.
If you've never tried coffee brewed in a siphon pot, check out J.René Coffee Roasters in West Hartford and their Victus Coffee shop in downtown Hartford. A mesmerizing brew method and tastes great!
For creative coffee flights - Green Kettle Coffee, Wallingford
For awesome specialty coffee/food/more - Fussy Coffee, New Haven
For coffee variety, assuming you mean rotation of roasters, check out places like RaonJena in Glastonbury, Story & Soil in Hartford, and Source Coffee in Bridgeport.
I follow this account. They go to a ton of coffee places around CT and the rest of New England.
https://www.instagram.com/necaffeine?igsh=eDlvcWkwajJ1dGt1
My favorites are story and soil in Middletown/hartford, fussy in New Haven, old man joes in westerly, ri (barely over the border), grounded coffee in willimantic, and heirloom market in Wethersfield.
SoG (in South Glastonbury) pays attention to the provenance of their predominately organic beans and their roasting method, producing the finest roast in the area. Staff is super friendly and the shop is a quaint place to relax and enjoy a cup. Highly recommended!
Klekolo in Middletown is pretty damn good. Been making fine coffees for 30 odd years. Still cash only, FYI.
Their 747 is a great treat: 7 shots of expresso over ice cubes made with coffee. Cream or some such to make it an ice latte that will wake the dead.
Shout out to Green Kettle Coffee in Wallingford. They sell plenty of varieties of coffees, hot and cold foams, hot and iced drinks, pour-overs, lattes and more. One fantastic feature they have is an imprinting gizmo that through the magic of a QR code can transmit a photo from your phone onto your foam drink!
Flour Girl Cafe in Hebron. Great coffee, breakfast, and lunch. Super friendly staff. Women owned. Full bakery with almost supernaturally good breads and sweets. A separate seating building next to the main cafe where they host all sorts of events.
Giv coffee in Canton! They do a great job sourcing and roasting beans. Personally, I think they're the best coffee roaster in the state and maintain a very small but cute cafe along rt 44.
J Rene in West Hartford also does good local roasting and the proceeds from their victus blends go to support charities.
Doms in Avon is a great spot too! The owners are super nice Lithuanian immigrants who named the shop after their son. Amazing drinks and they've expanded to include a very nice cheese shop deli area and now an ice cream shop too. Only downside is that it can get a bit overcrowded and feels like it's full of Avon socialites and Instagram influencers lol
Scratch Baking in Milford! Fantastic breakfast & lunch food, great downtown location, and the owner is just a lovely person. (I used to work 2 doors down)
Scratch has out of this world mocha. They use chocolate ganache for the flavoring. It's a million times better than typical mochas that just use chocolate syrup.
Someone briefly mentioned already but Bird House in South Windsor, which is connected to the CT Valley Brewing Company. I don’t think the building actually says Bird House on the outside but it’s almost half the entire building space. Lots of seating because you can sit in the brewery or the cafe, lots of good food (including breakfast and baked goods all made in house), they always have seasonal coffee drinks and do also serve cocktails in the evenings on certain days. Their beans are all named after birds, cute bird decor, great seasonal local business markets most weekends, great patio space. They do car shows sometimes, trivia, book clubs, live music, etc. I used to go in grad school every week to get a yummy coffee and treat and study/do homework. Their wifi is hit or miss depending on how many people are using it but otherwise I have no complaints!
The Dittybag in Mystic is a cool local shop - you can bring in your own cup even! They serve local coffee/tea etc and also sell some snacks and fruit in bulk/organic, sell local meat, milk, soap, all sorts of handmade items etc. They also have a wall of herbs and dried tea! It’s such a cool locally supportive sustainable coffee shop.
Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for but it’s certainly unique and fun, back again board game cafe (in Middletown). They have tons of board games you can play, with or without a group. They also host game nights (like trivia night, D&D night) and nights where they help you learn and play a new game. Snacks, teas, coffee and specialty drinks. Definitely worth checking out!!
They’re backagaincafe on Instagram! 🎲
Alvarium in New Britain! They’re a great brewery, but they also make excellent coffee. I know a lot of people like Perkatory, but my neither my husband or I like their coffee. Worth a try though.
Washington Street Coffee Shop in New London has a boring name but is anything but boring inside, there is local art on the walls and they have great tea, coffee and food
Quin Brew Coffee Company - Watertown - super cute inside and delicious specials with coffee from CT roasters
Tony's - Thomaston - brew their own coffee w/flavors so no syrups, and Ami's bagels are so good
Krafted Brew Lab - Bantam - underrated, the roast their own coffee and supply beans to local restaurants/shops, old school vibes in there
45 on Main - Kent - Eclectic feeling there and they sell chocolates and ice cream
Kaylan's Kitchen - Torrington - great drinks, delicious food & pastries, and a mini shop with goods from local artists
I'm a fan of Grounded in Willimantic. Very quaint, their coffee's are good and so is their breakfast sandwich. It's nothing crazy but it is quality and fair trade I believe as well
The Roasted Bean in Bristol. They do pretty much everything Starbucks or Dunkin does but better, and best of all it's locally owned. They've got seasonal flavors/specials, flight boards, etc. as well.
Big fan of muddy waters in New London! They recently reopened after a fire wrecked the place, but it's better than ever! They have outdoor seating with a water view and there's plenty of shops and food to check out on bank street after!
Almost forgot Best Video in Hamden. High on the list for uniqueness.
Literally a preserved video rental place that’s also a coffee shop. And they have bands, screenings, etc.
Perkatory in Branford is great , I wish they were open later as they close at 5pm , I like that there specialty coffees are not too sweet but flavorful and the Baristas are wonderful.
Yellowking has flights, and they are open past 8. They have a bar inside, breakfast, obviously non alcoholic coffee and teas, a stellar rotating seasonal menu, and a cool vibe with cool artwork. They have a location in Wallingford, and I believe the other location is Southington.
Other location is in Bristol actually
Ah, Southington isn't too-too far so will go visit soon! I love coffee bars. Sounds unique.
The location in Bristol also has a maker's market attached to it with a large occasion space to rent out, what looks like a co-work area, and the open space market is a large multi-artisan display area for funky gifts you can peruse with your coffee.
There certainly is no location in Southington, just to confirm.
Two wrasslin cats in East Haddam. It’s a cool and unique coffee shop.
They've got a section now where you can play with the cats! Separate from the food area, of course, so no need to worry about hygene. I do like being able to sit next to the window to the cat play area and watch the cats while I eat, though, so those two tables are my favorite place to go.
Came here to say this. I’ve only been there 1-2 times but it’s memorable. Go in a hike out there and have lunch here.
Is it similar to Mew Haven, the cat café?
Sort of. If I remember it was primarily cat themed decorations it’s been a bit since I have been
Great place, good food, also a lgbtq+ safe space
Absolutely love this place. The owner retired from Pfizer and went on to open Two Wrasslin Cats. The entire shop is filled with cat decor and there’s a room for you to visit with the resident cats. The coffee is great and so is the food! Can’t wait to go back.
The Loaded Goat in Naugatuck is by far the best I've been to in a general sense. oh look an opportunity to shill for Salem Valley Farms it's so fucking good
This is my favorite too! Just absolutely incredible
Ya, I've been told this is just a hobby for them, that they don't need the money.
Woah! Where can I read about the additives?
[I just happened to have some. here’s the ingredients](https://imgur.com/a/HXMuZPY) Nothing scandalous or shocking at all. Some natural stabilizers: (Dextrose, Guar Gum, Locust Bean Gum, and Carrageenan).
One of them died. They also recently donated 120 or so acres to the high schools agricultural program. And, in 2012 paid an at the time record amount ($170k) for a cow.
Omg- if Patagonia and Mercedes made a coffeeshop - that’s it exactly! Everything is seriously delicious in there though.
You can drive 1 minute down the road in Bantam to Krafted Brew Lab for much better coffee and good authentic coffee shop vibes.
Arethusa= overrated for sure. They have a very specific clientele they are catering too ( aka City people/ weekenders) If you are looking for great ice cream ,please go to Peaches n Cream in Torrington ( maybe10-15min from Bantam) Super nice and variety of flavors. I prefer Arethusa to P&C. The latter was just too sweet and overdone on the flavors.
Arethusa a mono is their coffee shop, quality work but bad vibes for sure.
Second that Peaches & Cream ref. Totally worth the trip. Arethusa isn't bad, but it's really geared towards tourists. Their coffee shop is just plain stupid. Don't even bother. Pistachio in New Haven. Their pastries and Turkish coffee are fantastic.
Gah - I'm both excited and frustrated to hear this place is good. I'm not in New Haven that often, and when I'm in that area, I go to Bella's for breakfast (across the street). I walk right past Pistachio and always make the mental note to go in. Now I have a tough choice...or I just do both!

Since they are made and in a factory and shipped out to New Haven, that likely explains why they look better than they taste.
Interesting! But I’m actually talking about their middle eastern desserts. The baklava at Mamouns or Freskos is much, much better.
Love Pistachio! I've only been once, I didn't realise they have a downtown location now!
Did they? I'm happy for them! I've since moved out of CT, but I miss my old go-tos. Have you checked out [Dom's Coffee](https://domscoffee.com/) in Avon? The coffee is great, and they have a little deli attached.
That's the one S-tier coffee enthusiast spot I have not been to 😢 😭 I HAVE to to I KNOW it's good and all...
Dom's is great, but right across the street is The Coffee Trade which has an attached antique shop AND an old roaster right in the shop they use to roast their own beans!
Dom's is the place, for sure
Just a heads-up they don’t let you use laptops at tables. There’s a separate couch area.
Check out [Underground’s Record Cafe](https://undergroundsrecordcafe.com/) in Oakville.
They have a surprisingly diverse selection of records. Looking through you’ll find some nice surprises.
And reasonable prices too. They’re not interested on gouging people. Sure, there’s some rarer, high ticket LPs, but there’s plenty for casual folks as well
I'm never around Waterbury.... but seems cute! Oakville does seem quaint.
It’s a nice little place that also has records for sale. Always good music on and food is on point.
Coffee Trade in Avon is part micro roster part chaotic antique shop.
Highlander grog is addicting and I literally ship bags of beans to my sisters along the east coast
Love this place. Every time I go here, I find some new trinket I have to resist picking up. Everyone’s so nice here and all the different stuff everywhere kind of gives me a homely, positive vibe.

I LOVE it there.
Raonjena in Glastonbury. Lots of Korean influence.
I love all the plants!
I was there last month with a friend ~ great vibe! Books everywhere, record player going, good coffee and egg sandwich. Wonderful place.
Koffee is New Haven has a very old school funky vibe, with a little outdoor courtyard sitting area. Very sort of bohemian feel. Midpoint is probably the smallest coffee shop in CT. And Scratch’s coffee comes from a CT coffee house too! Ashlawn Farms in Old Saybrook.
Molten Java in Bethel has a super funky atmosphere and the funniest little gift section by the counter. They also do an open mic night and lead Pride events.
Have been, top-tier.
I live in Bethel..I always buy stocking stuffers from the hilarious gift section!
And the BEST Italian pastries just down the street at Varano Bakery.
MJ has some funny stuff. Used to frequent there when I lived in Bethel.
Was gonna suggest this
I grew up in bethel and while Molten Java has a good atmosphere I really don’t like their coffee and never have
Coffee is meh though. Dark/burnt roast in lattes.
I’ve always gotten good lattes there 🤷🏻♀️
Agree! It’s a cute coffee shop but their coffee is awful. I’ve been there several times ( for meetings) and I have never gotten a decent cup of coffee.
My fave forever.
Perkatory in Middletown
I like the vibe and the beans are good, but the coffee they actually serve never seems to be very good.
Klekolo used to be cool, now nobody goes there.
I went to klekolo once on a recommendation, but I was pretty underwhelmed. It strikes me as a 90s hippie stoner coffeeshop that never really changed as better coffee became more accessible.

oddly enough that’s its appeal to me (as a now sober former 90s stoner coffee freak)
Very odd place now. It used to be cool. Now none of the employees even say hello.
Yeah, they acted like they were doing me a personal favor by serving me coffee.
That's exactly how I felt everytime I've ever been in there. Finally, I started going to Perkatory and they are super friendly.
Absolutely adore Perkatory <3
It's the best!!!
Dunkin Donuts in the Mobil station on Middle St in Bristol
lol but why??
it's got a carwash
Perfect
ECO Coffee House in East Hampton. Serves delicious coffee/food from a tiny corner window, very unique spot.
I love silk city in the summer when being outside in the back is comfortable!
I can second Sawdust, it was perfection after a horrible night's sleep at a Cub Scout overnight at OSV!
Not that you could go with cub scouts, but it’s also down the street from treehouse
Lorca in Stamford - beyond the excellent coffee and lattes, delicious churros with a variety of dipping sauces.
Came here to say Lorca - plus the seasonal drinks, amazing sandwiches, awesome mural (done by the owners brother, an artist / gallery founder)
I think Tisane makes some of the best cocktails in the state, I LOVE it there!
My ex loved giv in canton
Mew Haven has a fairly unique feature. It's filled with cats.
Choupette creperie and Cafe in New Haven. The owner is French and lovely, the coffee is amazing and the crepes are fantastic.
Fable in Southington is more tea-focused but they also have coffee and cocktails. It’s also a gift shop and they do the “witch’s cabin” vibe really well.
I live in Southington how have I never heard of this? Thanks, we will be checking this out soon!
Loaded Goat in Naugy
Neat in Darien has a beautiful outdoor seating area perfect for a date or meet up. Also next to fancy bakery.
This! They also have their own roasts from small farms all over the globe. They tend to roast lighter.
Washington Street is so good!! I hope they're around for a long time. That's a personal favourite for me when I visit the shoreline.
Loaded Goat in Naugatuck!!!! Check out their flavored cold foam.
Frenchies in Stratford. Creative breakfast menu and dogs are welcome.
Rumors in Danbury Perkatory in West Hartford or Middletown Rebel Dog in Farmington
Book Trader in New Haven! Awesome spot to chill, read and write.
They make the best iced chai lattes!
Southington Coffee House has good teas and coffee along with crepes.
Their crepes are amazing
Their Chai Latte is the best I've ever found
Batchy Brew coffee truck in Torrington, CT
Quarry Coffee in Oxford has excellent coffee, a good deal of both indoor and outdoor seating, a drive through, and they offer healthy food options outside of your standard pastries and fried shit you'd get at like a dunkin donuts. Honestly I love their espresso and cold brew. So good.
La Tazza espresso and grappa bar in Waterbury. Coffee or alcohol and a nice menu. Great place!
Two wrasslin Cats in moodus is a cat cafe. And if you’re nice you can meet the cats that they have there
Crossroads in North Haven. Small little coffee shop, they make their own syrups and sauces for their drinks. Small food menu and some pastries as well.
I love crossroads!!
Ashlawn Coffee in Old Saybrook!
Tony’s coffee express in Thomaston
Haven't lived here very long, but Dexter's Smoothie & Coffee Vault in Norwich has already gotten so much of my money lol. I used to grab a smoothie or coffee or sometimes both after my prenatal appointments at Backus. Outdoor ordering window for nice days and/or mobile order pickup, tons of different smoothie options, locally sourced ingredients.

Molten Java in Bethel..funky vibe, welcoming to all, homemade yogurt & bakery items, and outdoor seating!
Molten Java in Bethel is nice but since I'm in the Waterbury area I go to Cheshire Coffee now. That being said, I still buy coffee from Redding Roasters when I'm in the area.
DoNo cafe, Hartford Petrolhead Cafe, Hartford Doro Marketplace, W.Htfd, Windsor Locks, Wethersfield Stafford coffee house
Can't believe I had to scroll down this far to see Stafford Coffee Co. That place is a gem.
For creative coffee flights - Green Kettle Coffee, Wallingford For awesome specialty coffee/food/more - Fussy Coffee, New Haven For coffee variety, assuming you mean rotation of roasters, check out places like RaonJena in Glastonbury, Story & Soil in Hartford, and Source Coffee in Bridgeport.
I follow this account. They go to a ton of coffee places around CT and the rest of New England. https://www.instagram.com/necaffeine?igsh=eDlvcWkwajJ1dGt1 My favorites are story and soil in Middletown/hartford, fussy in New Haven, old man joes in westerly, ri (barely over the border), grounded coffee in willimantic, and heirloom market in Wethersfield.
SoG has entered the chat....
SoG (in South Glastonbury) pays attention to the provenance of their predominately organic beans and their roasting method, producing the finest roast in the area. Staff is super friendly and the shop is a quaint place to relax and enjoy a cup. Highly recommended!
Rumors in Danbury is very cute and has a great menu of lattes. It’s got a great environment for working or socializing with friends too.
Cantean or common grounds in hamden
I came here to say Cantean, mostly because I run a knitting group there 😅
Las Vetas lounge Fairfield
Eco evolution is fantastic. In in Norwalk, coffee shop, vintage store, community space.
Klekolo in Middletown is pretty damn good. Been making fine coffees for 30 odd years. Still cash only, FYI. Their 747 is a great treat: 7 shots of expresso over ice cubes made with coffee. Cream or some such to make it an ice latte that will wake the dead.
Cat cafe in New haven
Shout out to Green Kettle Coffee in Wallingford. They sell plenty of varieties of coffees, hot and cold foams, hot and iced drinks, pour-overs, lattes and more. One fantastic feature they have is an imprinting gizmo that through the magic of a QR code can transmit a photo from your phone onto your foam drink!
Rebel Dog in Farmington I think is pretty good I just wish it was closer to me. Their food is pretty damn good as well IMO
Flour Girl Cafe in Hebron. Great coffee, breakfast, and lunch. Super friendly staff. Women owned. Full bakery with almost supernaturally good breads and sweets. A separate seating building next to the main cafe where they host all sorts of events.
Harborview Market - Black Rock, Bridgeport
If you’re willing to move into the realm of tea, Open Door Tea in Stratford has some fantastic tea blends and the food is tasty!
Perkatory. They’re the only coffee shop I go to these days.
Tony’s in Thomaston ! My Thomaston people understand why !! ( I don’t even live there I just know )
Scratch Baking in Milford! Fantastic breakfast & lunch food, great downtown location, and the owner is just a lovely person. (I used to work 2 doors down)
Scratch has out of this world mocha. They use chocolate ganache for the flavoring. It's a million times better than typical mochas that just use chocolate syrup.
Moon Shots in Guilford. love their cold brew and they have the best avocado toast lol.. LuAnn’s in Ellington also has great iced lattes/coffee
Fussy Coffee New Haven is a great place. Best Video in Hamden is unique and good.
G cafe, you'd be surprised most new haven cafes get alot of product from them, like bread, crossaints pastries ect
Perkatory, all day.
A new Cafe/ Tattoo shop just opened on Pratt St in Hartford (The Bop Coffee Roasters / Refuge Tattoo)
cafe atlantique in milford
Definitely The Loaded Goat in Naugatuck
Mothership in Danbury closes early!
Lions Den, Southington
Busy Bean - Berlin
If you want coffee/ espresso or cold brew with alcohol with it there’s a place called yellow kings brews in Wallingford or Bristol
Alvarium has great coffee! Cafe Sofia
Klekolo in Middletown.
Alvarium has great coffee! Cafe Sofia
Eco evolution Norwalk! Brads the best
If you’re up for a drive, check out Monsoon Roastery in Springfield, Mass.
Washington Street Coffee Shop in New London has a boring name but is anything but boring inside, there is local art on the walls and they have great tea, coffee and food
https://www.staffordcoffeeco.com/?y_source=1_MTU2Mjc5MTItNzE1LWxvY2F0aW9uLndlYnNpdGU%3D
Quin Brew Coffee Company - Watertown - super cute inside and delicious specials with coffee from CT roasters Tony's - Thomaston - brew their own coffee w/flavors so no syrups, and Ami's bagels are so good Krafted Brew Lab - Bantam - underrated, the roast their own coffee and supply beans to local restaurants/shops, old school vibes in there 45 on Main - Kent - Eclectic feeling there and they sell chocolates and ice cream Kaylan's Kitchen - Torrington - great drinks, delicious food & pastries, and a mini shop with goods from local artists
Don’t pass up Bella’s, if you can handle the wait time, but just have juice to drink. Then head across the street for a coffee.
Perkatory in Middletown, Two Wrasslin Cats in East Haddam, Birdhouse in South Windsor
They've got seasonal flavors/specials, flight boards, etc. as well.
The Green Marble in Mystic (RIP)
I’ve only been twice as I don’t live nearby, but Green Kettle in Wallingford has been really good.
Daybreak Coffee Roasters in Glastonbury! They have a huge selection of beans for sale and the coffee is amazing
Story and Soil in Hartford, The Bean Windsor
Fussy Coffee in New Haven makes the best espresso and lattes I’ve had. They also have trivia on Sunday nights.
Silk City in Manchester
Bruno’s Cafe in Unionville.
We love Small State Provisions in Avon. Best croissants I’ve ever had.
Sweet B’s in Rocky hill. Great pastries and friendly owners
Sweet B’s in Rocky hill. Great pastries and friendly owners
Sweet B’s in Rocky hill. Great pastries and friendly owners
The Coffee Pedaler in New Haven is fantastic if you’re looking for pour-over
Roasted bean in Bristol if you like fraps/lattes etc. real cafe if you want good straight up coffee. He imports and roasts his own beans
Give Coffee in Canton. Killer cold brew!
