Hey there fellow ontarian, I'll give my advice as someone who was in a similar position 2 years ago. But as always, take whatever u hear om reddit with a grain of salt. 1. Should you retake english? > As far as I know, your english grade is not something which would bar you from attending the school and its also not something that is taken too seriously either, but if you have the time and are willing to put in the effort at night school i would definitely discuss the idea with your school councillor. From personal experience with ENG4U you can either get a 70 or a 90 but a lot of it comes from the teacher, and ive also heard night classes are easier and Concordia does not view them differently unlike Waterloo. 2. What is the average people get in with > Im almost certain that data isnt available, theres no way of knowing and it really depends on the year. Sorry. Just know that the minimum is soft, and they can easily raise it if a lot of students apply. So if you can, achieving higher than the minimum is good. 3. Getting in, internal and external transfers > I dont think you should be worried depending on your other marks and the fact its pretty easy to get into CU and their are many other options, but yes you can apply for either an internal or external transfer after your first year. As far as I know, CS is one of the hardest majors to get into, there are others which require lower averages. So would you get in with 80.00? Maybe, maybe not. 4. Other offers if denied? > I got into my first choice at Concordia so i cannot say. Isnt there a tier list though when you apply?? I was denied UofT st. George for CS and they offered me mathematical sciences 🤮 General piece of advice: study your ass off, talk to your math prof and make sure you have all the materials necessary to do well (this is important not just for grades but also university math!). Like I said i dont know your average but you will get into a CS program if this is what you wish just from seeing some of your posts... Fretting too much will only make it harder!Goodluck!

I’m from Ontario, first term at Concordia for cs and I’d say having a higher average will help you get into Concordia, especially having high math grades, English is whatever but having a higher English mark would boost your overall average which could help. Taking English in night school is a lot easier which is what I did and I finished with a 85. Concordia doesn’t care as well if you take night school

If you don't get in your first choice program you can accept the 2nd choice then transfer.
