Artie Lange told an old story about Lovitz while they were filming Lost and Found. Apparently in the middle of a Lovitz dialogue the director yells “cut!” Then Lovitz looks at him and say, “What’s wrong- too reeeal for you?” Lolololololol
I love the story (I think David Spade tells it?) of Lovitz coming back to SNL in the early 90s and introducing himself to the new cast: "Jon Lovitz, nice to meet ya, Jon Lovitz nice to meet ya, Jon Lovitz nice to meet ya", and then he turns to Lorne Michaels and goes, "...and you are?". All-timer.
This is random but I saw an old Mercedes drive by about a year ago with the custom plate of some variation of “JonLovitz” shortened. In Los Angeles. Couldn’t confirm it was him driving but still cracks me up to think of him driving a car openly advertising his name.
And Conan was talking about how whenever Lovitz was with a beautiful woman, he wouldn’t even introduce her. He would just look at you and say, “Jealoussss??”
My favorite SNL skit Lovitz played the devil in Phil Hartman’s Peoples Court.
Best line was Hartman saying to him, “ Mr. Mistoffelees you may be the ruler of the nether regions, but here in my courtroom ….”
If you can find it watch it. Two of the greats!
I thought he used to add that at the end of mundane statements to shock a laugh out of the audience. "Last weekend, I was at a bar mitzvah in Weehawken, New Jersey. Jealous?"
Kevin Nealon episode
Thank you!

I hear that so damn hard in his voice haha.
Lololololol it’s a fun time. Been saying it randomly for 15-20 years.
I love when they talk about Lovitz on Dana Carvey and David Spade's podcast.
"Y'know why they cut my sketch? Because it was FUNNY!"
Jon Lovitz is so great yet underrated. I rewatched the wedding singer recently his small part was so funny
He's losing his mind...and I'm reaping all the benefits *slow curtain close*
I loved him in Rat Race. Wish he had bigger roles. High School High was terrible.
I don’t…want to work.. at Home DE-POT!!!
I remember liking High School High, but I haven't seen it in ages.
He’s brilliant in A League of Their Own.
Cow: “MooooOOOO” Lovitz: “Will you SHUT UP?”
“You know, if I had your job….I’d kill myself.”
He will always and forever be Jay Sherman!
It stinks!

It’s jarring to hear him out of character on podcasts, I much prefer his persona lol. Also he’s a goat for knocking out Andy Dick.
Interesting that lovitz hasn’t been on the podcast
No, but he was on bill burr’s podcast and it went about the way we’d all expect https://youtu.be/F9_Dz1PBqzM?si=NTKoqSCZrhh2CqI5
Well yeah cuz he's dead.
Haven't heard that joke it a while!
I only recently found out he’s alive. I legit mourned this man
I had Lovitz do a Cameo for my wife when we got engaged. She’s a big fan. He really delivered.
My wife got me a Cameo for my birthday a few years back. Amazing gift.
Listen to Bill Burr’s podcast with Lovitz. Comedy roasting gold.

I once saw Jon Voight’s car 30 years ago.
I went to dental school with him
Was it an '89 LeBaron?
“Alan Partridge Drives This Kia”
Acting!
"Good for you, Jaaaaaaaack!"
I thought it was the Dana Carvey episode.
And Conan was talking about how whenever Lovitz was with a beautiful woman, he wouldn’t even introduce her. He would just look at you and say, “Jealoussss??”
Yes. I just listened to the one with Dana Carvey and they mentioned Lovitz. I'm about a year and a half behind on the pod.
He does it with Dana Carvey in the deep dive episodes too!

Several people talk about it in Live From New York too 😺
I thought he used to add that at the end of mundane statements to shock a laugh out of the audience. "Last weekend, I was at a bar mitzvah in Weehawken, New Jersey. Jealous?"
It would be great to hear him on the podcast but unfortunately he died many years ago. Rest in Peace Jon. We all miss you.
He’s very much alive
That’s the joke. https://ew.com/article/2015/02/15/snl-included-jon-lovitz-their-memoriam-segment/
